Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G Unboxing, Setup and First Look

It costs one thousand three hundred ninety nine dollars for 128 gigabytes of storage and one thousand five hundred ninety nine dollars for 512 gigabytes of storage it only comes in two different colors it comes in cosmic gray and cosmic black and this is the cosmic gray color. I also got the Samsung Galaxy buds plus for free along with this LED back cover, we'll take a

at that. Later in the video, so let's go ahead and open this up and we'll talk about the specs and everything else, so let's go ahead and cut the tape on the back here, let's put that aside and unpack this, the part top is quite loose. and in here it

Let's open up the top here and see what we have here, no case or anything like that. it only says that this device comes packaged with a screen protector, if you remove it and want to use a different screen protector, make sure it allows the use of all touch screen functions, has a quick reference guide, Samsung Care and its terms and conditions. warranty booklet, so let me put this aside now here's the phone itself and we'll do a size comparison and everything else, but let me leave this, we'll see what's in the box and we'll get back to the phone so we just have a little cover here and then we have our 25 watt USB C charger, so this is the charger that should charge pretty quickly.

There's also a 45-watt charger available, but online tests show that's really not much of an advantage. difference and it's not really worth it so here we have this is our USB c2 USBC cable that's included in the box and then we have some AKG headphones so these headphones look like what they've been packing with the Galaxy Z flip. There are USB C headphones, some different sized headphone tips along with the headphones themselves, so we'll leave that aside and one thing they don't include with the s20

and they ask you when you buy one is if you want the adapter. so you can switch from a different phone, in here is the USB, a two USBC adapter that allows you to switch to maybe or switch from maybe an iPhone or a Pixel or something like that, so it's not included, although it is include free.

You just have to specify that you want it, so let me put this aside and we'll take a closer look at the phone. Now the phone is made of aluminum. Let's remove this cover here and I'm not sure if there are any stickers. All in all I don't think there is this time on the s10, now the phone has an aluminum frame with glass on the front and back and it looks pretty good and on the right side we have our on/off button with our volume button on the top we have a microphone, it looks like there might be a cover here that can be removed, then we have the SIM card tray, we will look at it closer in a moment, on the left side of the phone it is without buttons no openings and then at the bottom we have a USB C speaker port and then another microphone, we no longer have a headphone jack so they removed it now on the back of course we have the camera bump this is pretty big. camera bump, but it has some pretty impressive specs for the cameras, we'll cover those in a moment, but

let's go over the overall device specs now inside the Samsung Galaxy s 20 Ultra 5g, which is tough to say has a qualcomm. snapdragon 865 with an Adreno 650 GPU is available with 12 gigabytes of RAM or 16 gigabytes of RAM if you have the 512 gigabyte storage version you can also add a micro SD card of up to one terabyte via the SIM card slot.

Now when we talk about the front camera specifications, it is a 40 megapixel camera which should be really impressive and it also records in 4k now as far as the cameras on the rear are concerned.

On the back we have a 108 optical image stabilized camera. megapixels, we also have a 48 megapixel telephoto zoom camera, then we have a 12 megapixel

wide angle camera and then a point three megapixel time-of-flight vga camera. The cameras on this or the main camera can record video up to 8k at 24 frames per second, however, this year there is no dual aperture on the camera or dual pixel autofocus and we will talk more about that a little later, now It comes with Android 10 with a user interface, now it also has a five thousand milliamp hour battery which is huge and it also supports fast wireless charging along with regular fast charging up to forty five watts, as I mentioned before it also has water resistance and to dust ip68 now before you turn on the s20 ultra and set it up, let's go ahead and do a quick size comparison with last year's s10 plus, so these are the largest phones available at least at the launch of both years, so you'll see the s20 Ultra is a little bit taller, it's a little bit a little bit wider and it's also a little bit thicker, it's definitely thicker as well with the camera bump so there's a big difference there and then if you were considering maybe this year's Z flip this will also give you a quick size comparison so here's the Z flip next to the s20 ultra and as far as the height of both of them they are very similar but the Z flip is a bit taller so this gives you an idea of ​​the overall size now finally if you are an iPhone user and maybe considering upgrading to an S20 Ultra there is a size difference from the 11pro max , so you will see them side by side and again from above, the s20 plus is a giant foam.

Now let's go ahead and turn it on there. Come on, it says Samsung Galaxy S 20 ultra 5g secured by Knox powered by Android and there should be an update for this with the camera. Initially there were some problems with the camera's autofocus, supposedly they will be able to fix it with an update. We will see them now. Samsung will also guide you audibly, so let's go ahead and review this so you have to agree to at least two of the terms and then press Next to set up the network now before I go ahead and connect. on my Wi-Fi network, one thing I noticed is that it has a random MAC address, which is really good because it's harder to track you that way with a random Mac, usually a MAC address is assigned to the hardware itself and it's not Something you can usually changes, so it will check for some updates

This is where you can copy apps and data from your current phone. Normally you would do this, but you actually need to charge the phone up to about 80 percent in order to do it properly. I tried to push a little faster but it wouldn't let me do it.

He had much more. problems with the s10 plus, so I'm with this one, so it seems like this one can be improved. I know some people say yes, some say no, but it looks like it's actually improved, some so it's almost set up, it's nice and fast and it says add finishing touches, so I'll log into my Samsung account now. I'm signed in to my Samsung account, so I'm going to go ahead and hit end, so I'm going to want to change those notification sounds to something a little bit. Now let's go ahead and take a look at the SIM card slot. I didn't look at this before and you can see that it has space not only for your SIM card but also a micro SD card with up to a terabyte of storage, so you have it and it has a little rubber gasket around it, but it's plastic so Be careful when you put it back in place and I will put my SIM card in it. A little bit later, now this is the home screen and it should be 120 Hertz as far as the actual speed of the screen, so it should be very smooth, but you actually have to turn on fast speed, so we'll go ahead and we will do it now.

One of the interesting things in the

setup

is that it is a high resolution screen, but it only displays at 1080p if you have motion smoothing on, so if you increase this to 120 Hertz you can have smoother scrolling, but it also doesn't. you do. to get the highest resolution you get one or the other, so you'll see the screen resolution is 2400 by 1080. If I switch to wqhd and press apply, it says high refresh rate is not supported by wqhd, so I would like to be able to do both. although technically I would choose the faster scroll since you can't see the pixels anyway and it would make everything nice and smooth.

I bought this directly from Samsung, so I thought I'd take a look at what apps are actually pre-installed. we have our typical Google apps installed, we have some Microsoft apps installed and then if we go to the app switcher, we have some of the same Samsung apps and then also Facebook, but you can only turn this off. This is pretty typical lately with Sam and so it was. Same thing last year, you can't uninstall it easily, but you can disable it and then there's another feature that I thought was pretty cool. Now, this is packed with features, but another feature that I thought was pretty cool is if we go into the app switcher here and tap on the app at the top, we can keep it open for a quick launch, which means it will keep it open in the background memory because it has so much memory that we can keep it open, so it's a pretty cool feature now.

Let's take a look at the camera settings and then we'll take a look at the plus buttons here, so let's go ahead and look at the camera, so we've got the photo mode, the video mode, of course, and let's see what we have here. so we have our different camera widths, so we have a 5x ultra wide angle zoom. I don't know if it can work. Let's see if we can go here. We can do a 20x zoom. It's something interesting. we have all these options so it's really interesting to see all these different options and then we have different ratios we can do 8K which is crazy on a smartphone and then let's go back and rotate the camera and I'll see this is a camera 40 megapixels.

Now I'm going to turn off anti-aliasing as it softens your face and as I said before some people have had issues with autofocus but I'll take a closer look at it when I'm using this. and let's see what we have for our

setup

so here we've seen the optimizer and all sorts of things except the rear video size of 7680 by 4320 which is pretty crazy for a smartphone and then of course the front video has some different resolutions like Okay, so let's turn the front camera up to 4k 64, so it should be pretty interesting. I'm going to try all these different features now, if we swipe left, we have Samsung Daly and technically we still have Bixby if you hold down the button. home or the on/off button now, another thing before we take a look at the Galaxy buds plus is that we will go to the software update, so what we have, we have a new update that is downloading and installing, so Take a look at that but it says device stability improvements and the newest bug which will also have, I believe, the March security patch.

So it came out yesterday, so it's good to see that Samsung is also keeping up with security patches, soI'll let this install and then we'll take a look at the Galaxy Buds and you'll see that the phone has been updated. the March 1, 2020 security patch so that's it so let's go ahead and take a look at the Galaxy headphones and also unbox them and like I said I got them free with purchase so it's good that have been able to include them and this. Should be a little better than last year's Galaxy headphones, they have noise canceling and I chose the black color this year as I had the white ones from last year, so this will allow you to charge them on the back of the phone, let's see what this little guy brochure is here before we look at everything else, so you'll see us as a quick start guide and then the terms and conditions I'll put aside and in here we have a couple more things, we get a cable so we can charge it.

They should have better sound. They have individual woofers and tweeters, so let's go ahead and open this up and see if we can pair it with this phone. He immediately appeared. We will press Connect. You can enable sound as it could be or you can cancel sound and then you have an equalizer here, notifications, touch panels, find my headphones and you even have software updates here, apparently I have one and that's really good, they should sound. pretty good, that's what they look like, so if you haven't seen them, they load inside and then they look pretty good, they fit pretty snugly. I've used the others, so they should be pretty good now if you want to charge. the

phones you just need to turn it on from your quick menu your wireless power sharing place it on the back it vibrates to let you know it is charging and then the status light it turns on so it's a really nice feature to have and then we'll hit cancel for that.

Now let's take a quick look at the LED back cover as I was also able to get this for free with them as well so we'll take it off open it up and if you haven't seen one of these it's pretty cool it's not just a case but it has LED and this one is much better than last year's. matte finish so if you don't like the glossy back and to be honest I'm not a big fan of it, let's go ahead and get this out of the way, you have a Quick Start Guide and that's the case itself before you put it on. it has a kind of microfiber lining but the rest is plastic but it has LEDs that you can't see on the back so let's go home put the case on it's nice and thin here we go open the app when first you put it on and it says the LED cover is attached, open the LED cover app and set the functions, it will press start, you have to accept them, so now it is downloading content for the LED cover on the back, so we will give it one moment. now applied a theme to the front of the phone, if we look at the back, let's see if we can take a look at it, we'll go to the cover and now we have different options, so on the back we have different themes. you have a theme LED cover, so now that I have a theme applied, let me go ahead and set up the phone.

It has a screen protector and you will see the LEDs light up on the back if you receive a notification. these will change but they can do all sorts of different things for notifications and stuff like that, that's really all the back cover does, it's more for notifications but it has a nice matte finish that makes the phone less slippery and I'll change the wallpaper. and things that allow me to change it back here and we'll change it here. I actually quite like the original wallpaper, so we'll set it to the lock screen and set this one to the home screen as well, so now it should be used. the least amount of energy since the majority are black pixels.
