Jun 06, 2021
What's wrong with everyone? I'm Danny and today we're going to look at the cheaper Samsung Galaxy S20 Fe or Fan Edition. It comes in fun new colors and has many features than the more expensive Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus phones. They were released earlier this year so what I want to do today is compare these three phones and help you make the best purchasing decision and let you know what's really different and then as a bonus I'll do a

camera

comparison

with the three and we'll let you know which one has the best

camera

, so we have a lot to talk about.

Let's go ahead and get started, so let's talk about the build quality. The Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus have glass backs, they are glossy and that's how you can tell the fan edition has a plastic back and a matte finish. The good thing is that it doesn't feel cheap by any means, it actually feels great in the hand, it's a bit lighter so that's something you might want to know about, but I'm not sure if it's a big deal anymore. or not, but this is also less prone to fingerprints, which is really good, most of you will just use a case anyway, but if you want that matte.

I feel like you can always put a mask on it from the channel sponsor, dbrand. I will leave you a link below if you want to pick one up for the s20 series when you flip them over they all have different screen sizes than the s20 has. the small 6.2 inch screen and the s20 fe sits in the middle with 6.5 inches and the s20 plus has the largest 6.7 inch screen, they all have a super fast 120 hertz refresh rate, which which is amazing and if you don't know what I'm talking about, it just makes everything look and feel extremely fluid on the screen.

My camera doesn't do it justice at all, so there are two big differences with the fan edition screen, so the fan edition has a

full

HD plus screen, while the s20 and s20 plus. it has a quad hd plus screen so it has a higher resolution but when running at 120 hertz they all basically run at

full

hd plus so that's something to keep in mind but if you drop it down to 60 hertz you'll have a higher resolution screen. on the s20 and s20 plus now, depending on how you feel, some people may celebrate it and some may not, but the fe has a flat screen so it has no curves.

Personally, I like this much better. The s20 and s20 plus have a slight curve to the screen and it wraps around the sides, what that means is that the fare bezels are more visible around the screen, while the s20 and s20 plus with those Curves give it a more bezel-less look, no big deal in my opinion, actually The flat screen makes it easier for accessories like glass screen protectors, but let me know which one you prefer in the comments section below. The good thing is that these three phones share more similarities than differences. All are IP68 waterproof.
They come with 128 gigabytes of storage. with microSD card support, all have dual speakers with one in the earcup and one at the bottom, have in-screen fingerprint scanners for secure login, 25W fast wired charging, fast wireless charging and charging Reverse wireless, all have the very agile Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. I'm based in the US so no exynos here but all these phones are loaded in terms of specs but there are some differences so here are some of the main ones: The

galaxy

s20 and s20 plus come with 12 gigabytes of RAM, while the fan edition comes. with half the RAM at 6 gigabytes, so if you are a multitasking beast then you will have to go for the higher end, but the average consumer should be fine with the fan edition, the battery sizes are also different due to the size of the the phones, so the more expensive

galaxy

s20 actually has the smaller battery at 4000 milliamp hours, while the fan edition and s20 plus share the same 4500 milliamp hour battery, so you'll get better battery life of the battery there, so when it comes to the faith 300 less, it really has a big impact and the good thing is that when it comes to software, they all run the same version of Android and they run the la

test

version of a UI, which is UI 2.5 at the time of this video, so the experience is solid all the way around, so let's talk about the camera because that's the question I've been getting the most on social media.
The fan edition is the cheaper model and still has a triple camera setup with the main ultra-wide and telephoto, but there are a few. differences with the more expensive models the secondary sensor of the s20 and s20 plus has a resolution of 64 megapixels while the fe has an 8 megapixel telephoto lens but the fv is a true telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom while the s20 and s20 plus They use a hybrid zoom for that reason the FE has slightly sharper telephoto shots, the difference isn't very drastic but if you're a telephoto fan you'll be happier with the cheaper fan edition.
Here you have an example. Check out this telephoto shot of the building. it captured more brick texture, so it's impressive that the s20 and s20 plus have that 64 megapixel mode, although the fan edition doesn't, although it does lose some dynamic range because it doesn't use the pixel binning it does when It compresses to 12 megapixels, but the absolute resolution is astonishing. You can see when I crop to this scale of 1000 how sharp the s20 and s20 plus remain compared to the fan edition and this works best on landscape shots like this, look how much of these people it was in this shot but In 1000 scale you can see them sitting on the dock without problems with the s20 and s20, also the same with this alligator it was taken further from the dock, but in 1000 scale you can see How many details are retained with the 64 megapixels?
You can clearly see the eyes and the texture, while the image is blurry, but this is not something the average consumer is going to use all the time, so it's not a big deal, but I just wanted to show you the difference, but most of people will only shoot in normal 12 megapixel mode, so that's what I would suggest to get the best overall image. The ultra-wide camera is also slightly different on the fan edition. The focal length is exactly the same. during the day you won't notice the difference at all, I think they all look great and although the pixel size is smaller on the fe sensor, I didn't notice a big difference at night either, the only thing is that in the night mode , it was turning green a lot compared to the other two and it happened several times, so I hope they can fix this in a software update in terms of the main sensor.
All three appear to be using the exact same sensor, so the shots will look very similar, which is great, especially during the day. They all have fantastic dynamic range and colors. They all have that slight Samsung overexposure, but you get one of the best overall cameras on the market with a robust camera app. With this, this mostly confirms that you are getting basically the same flagship quality images, even in a cheaper package, there may be some slight differences between the shots, but after looking at about a hundred side by side the Most of the time, it's pretty difficult.
To tell the difference, the only thing I consistently noticed is that the fan edition has more shadow detail in the processing, so the images come out a little brighter. This is a personal preference but some will definitely like it better and in some shots it's really drastic. This shot of spaceship Earth looks at the tree detail on the panel wall and in some cases shows higher dynamic range with better lighting control. I'm sure this mainly has to do with the camera software, but I just wanted to show you how good the fan is. The editing camera is if you take a lot of shots in portrait mode, faith at the time of this video uses the wide angle instead of the telephoto lens.
I hope they give the consumer the option later with the software update to use the telephoto lens when it arrives. for video they all record up to 4k 60 frames per second and look very similar its hard to tell the difference here but the s20 and s20 plus can record 8k video where faith caps at 4k 60 frames per second no it's a big deal, but something To know, in a brighter lighting scenario like this, the fan edition actually has the better video, better contrast on the t-shirt, look at the dynamic range on the plants in the back here, with this intense lighting, this was really surprising to me, this was filmed with pure light. auto mode for selfie lovers, the fan edition has a 32 megapixel front camera vs 10 megapixels on the s20 and s20 plus, but the quality is basically the same in my

test

s, I can't see a big difference even when I got it.
Darker, the s20 and s20 plus have larger pixels for better low-light performance, but it's hard to tell the difference in this scenario with low-light shots. I see the same thing, most of the images look similar, so that's cool, it's nice. To see the consistency for the most part between these three, the only thing I noticed is that when taking normal photos without night mode, if you look at the pixels, the s20 and s20 plus are sharper and with less noise, I'm sure this It's a software issue. Well, they can improve this over time if you use night mode, although the sharpness is restored, so I don't think this is a big deal because I think night mode will be used most of the time.
I didn't realize that sometimes. the regular s20 caused the longest exposure time of the three, not sure why but this happened constantly which is why some of the s20 images look different but even in very low light conditions where they barely You can see, this grass night mode does a fantastic job on everyone. three recovering details, so although there are some slight differences in color reproduction between the three, at times, for the most part, you will get a very similar nighttime experience. One last thing before we continue with the zoom capabilities, they all have a 30x space zoom.
I don't know if you want to use this or not, but in a pinch it will definitely do. The fan edition seems to over-sharpen the image below 30x, so it appears sharper but less noisy on the s20 plus, in this case on the high street. Shot of the castle, this really shows you how far away the 30x zoom is. You can see it again with the fv in a little more detail with the 30x zoom and moving towards the clock, this really shows the difference. You can see the over-sharpening in the fan edition, but. I think most people will prefer this, so after the camera

comparison

, what do you think about the galaxy s28 fe or the fan edition?
Do you think that with 300 less than this is the galaxy s20 that is available now? I mean I'm pretty sure that kind of brings out the s20 and now the comparisons really between the s20 plus and the fan edition so let me know which one would you choose I think for the average consumer I think the faith will be the one and I think it's going to be a big seller and especially maybe during the holidays when this has a little price cut this is going to be something great let me know what you think subscribe for more content like this give it a thumbs up because that it really helps.
