Pulling The Frame On My Destroyed 2015 Ford Mustang Gt.

May 30, 2021
What's going on guys, welcome back to the channel? In today's video, we're going to get back to work on our 1966 Ford Mustang that we bought at the salvage auction, but before we do anything with this car, I want to give you a little update on our

2015

Nissan GT-R that we also bought at the auction. salvage, we slowed this project down because we were doing it and we were also waiting for some new filters for the paint booth, so we got a nice clean paint job on this one. car, so go ahead and stay tuned for next week's video because we're going to paint this, but now let's go ahead and see what we're going to do on our 1966 Ford Mustang.

In the last video, we put together the engine and transmission. Inside the car we made a little mockup, we just rolled it up here and surprisingly it fits pretty well, that ruler is kind of a chamber because the strut is pushed in, but that's fine and we've also decided that we're going to cut the car down the center and make the whole car wider to accommodate the wider truck of the

2015

Mustang GT and also that will help us with the placement of the dash inside, as you can see the dash is a little too big, this is where it will close the door, so that will help with all of that and we have a little bit more cutting on the inside, all we have to do is finish cutting this right here and trim it a little bit and all the cutting is done on this Mustang and today we're going too to put this car here on the

frame

because a lot of the stuff is stuck there, but the driveshaft is stuck there and I really don't want to.

More Interesting Facts About,

We'll cut a lot into it and I think it would be cool to see how much we can get this car out, but now that says , let's go ahead and cut this car so we have both sides nice and cut. Leave all the cutting and fabrication to the next video because we're going to build the completely custom

frame

rails. Now what we need to do is put this subframe back on this car so we can wrap it over the frame so we have the subframe. It rolled under the car now we're going to go ahead and line it up and see if they go back on.

I might have to put in like two bolts because not all of them will fit, so let's lower this car and get out. This misery turned on again, we put the car back into misery, the man did not want to get stuck at all. I guess when we unscrewed the subframe the rails were pushed by a lot of tension there, we also went ahead and threw in some Roby puppies. Over there now let's go ahead and drag this thing onto the frame so you can put the car on the frame machine. We can actually use a four to push and drag it up here, but we finally got it up here, we didn't have some. problem because the subframe is completely bent, but now we're going to go ahead and lift the frame up and secure this, so now that we have the Mustang secured to the frame, we need to go ahead and get these. clamps on this Mustang, these are actually from the frame, so let's go ahead and do that and clamp that cart, I have to do squats, very nice man, this is absolutely correct anyway, I headed over, took the clamps off the Mustang older and I checked.

These ones here will clip onto the welds here and hold the car nice and secure to the frame so that when we're

pulling

it doesn't move, so let's go ahead and do that so we have this side. All good and safe. If you're wondering why we use three clamps here, we usually use two for each side, but on the other side you can't really put any clamps on, so we only put one on for safety, so we have the car. Nice and secure on the frame, now we're going to go ahead and bring the frame post here and start

pulling

, so we have the frame post here and I'm not even really sure how to pull this because of the severe damage. but I'm thinking we just grab a hook right here and start pulling it out and we'll see how it comes out, so we've got the frame post nice and ready, so we're making a little bit of progress.
Taking forever to get all this out, but look you can always see through the car as you can see everything is moving out of the way, we actually have some space in there now, at first you couldn't even get your hand in there. and also the driveshaft is now not stuck between the car, it actually fell through here. I know how well you can see that, but the driveshaft fell off and you can see how the whole tunnel is starting to fall apart, so come on. go ahead and continue to pull this thing out, so check it out, it's almost there, we just need to use this clamp here, we're going to try to pull out the intersection and as you can see, the outer skin just came off with all the point loads. here, so let's go ahead and put this clamp on and keep pulling and we're also going to throw this blanket on this chain just in case, if it comes off, this will absorb all the impact, so let's go ahead and see if this thing will call, like this that we have the car good and we started it, now we can get to all the cables here, as you can see, the water took a little hit here, but it doesn't look like it broke any of the cables.
Which is great because we need all these wiring harnesses and we can also get the dash out easier because as you can see, this piece here was actually pressing against the dash and it would be very difficult to get it out and cut it out. we made a lot more cuts, but we went ahead, we just put it on the frame, we took it all out now it's time to go ahead and take this car off the frame, so let's go ahead and do that, we take the car off the frame machine, it was definitely a It's a lot easier to take it off than it is to put it on and also look at this guys we got straightened out and the tire came out pretty good but now we're going to go ahead and put it on the lift because we need to take these wheels off and take the rear end.
We took the suspension off, so we lifted the car in the air and looked at this, this driveshaft was actually stuck here and we probably won't need a new driveshaft, this one is a little bent here, but look man. The frame rails look pretty straight here and all the brake lines are free. We can't take them out as well, but now we're going to start by removing this driveshaft right here and then we'll move on to the rear to I removed the driveshaft now we're going to go ahead and start removing this entire rear subframe. There are a couple of bolts here when you disconnect the brake lines and remove the air bags, so let's go ahead and drop it so we have. everything that's off the subframe we disconnect the e-brake cables and the abs and the brake lines now you're just going to lower the car and you're just going to unbolt these things and this thing should come right off so check this out we remove the subframe and everything is watching. pretty good under here, I can't see any bends or creases, the only thing I see that is broken is this sway bar link, which isn't a big deal, but all the other drivers seem to be pretty straight and nothing is really bent and also the The frame rails back here seem pretty straight, nothing got bent back here, these are really strong compared to the problems, the front ones are a little weaker than the rear ones, I guess to handle all that power the 5.0, but Now that we have the rear end out, let's go ahead and lower the fuel tank, so we take out the gas tank and the cool thing is this thing actually came with a full tank of gas, it's a lot harder to get it out. but that's all we're going to take off of this car for now, we're actually going to take it off later and put it next to that Mustang, so once we're making the new frame and everything, we can start grafting things off of this . car on that car, but now I want to go ahead and put this rear end in and turn it towards the Mustang and see how it fits in the rear, so look at this, we have the independent rear suspension under the Mustang and let me tell you.
You're lining up pretty good, but you obviously don't have the frame rails built yet and I'm pretty sure we can use these factory wheel arches right here because we're planning on cutting the car down the center like this and lighting it up. outside and it shouldn't be too difficult here everything is just flat so all we have to do is put a little plate here and the same thing up here and the roof, we're doing the fastback so we'll probably have to get two. ceilings and splices and we'll probably do a little bit of wide body here, but I'm planning on doing a very light wide body, it'll basically look like this edge here, but probably only about an inch.
It's not too big or too flashy, so it looks factory now. If you enjoyed this video, go ahead and hit the subscribe button, like it, and don't forget to follow me on Instagram @ V tuned.
