not up and down on the tub platform, it's creating a weak point here because you have different materials. I have a couple of baths to do here. I have a bathtub

and someone here just bought this house. It's an empty house, right? now I have this tub

and a shower area to do this, it's going to be a full Schluter shower and then I'm going to put in a Kerdi

board

, which is this here in the tub area, okay, so I just want to clarify a little bit. of confusion. because there are a lot of people who say to put the

on the edge of the bathtub or put it on the edge of the bathtub.

Now I will tell you that you never want to put the board like this on the top edge like the board is supposed to be placed. sit in the tub like this, not like this, but like this, so if you use a Kerdi board or a Durock board or some other cement board, you're going to lay the board on the platform of the tub, you're going to leave a little gap and then you're going to seal that with your preferred sealing treatment, you lay it like this and you create a weak spot here because you have different materials that expand different rates of expansion and contraction so you can really open a crack in the lay tile here, if you're not careful then you want to lay your board on the tub deck and like I said if you are using rock you will seal it with silicone or whatever treatment you prefer.

I'm using Kerdi-board so I'm going to use the Schluter product so I'm going to use Kerdi Fix It. Do it the way they recommend so the stud has to be flush. Look how these studs have been notched. here, actually, because the walls are not flat, I want that one. I'm going to have to widen this a little because I'm using Kerdi-board. I can use the wet fit method so I can get it when the board goes down, it's going to sit on top of the tub deck over here, it's going to kick it a little bit so I'm going to have to take it off and same old same old so all of these can see.

I'm going to consult a method in the TCA manual so there is no confusion. This is not an opinion, it actually is. how you're supposed to do it this is actually how you're supposed to do it this is also to prevent water from getting into the cavity wall because if you have the board on top then you have to seal this somehow if you have it I have over the water, it's not going to go over, I'll climb up and go over the edge, some of these tub covers are a different summer and some have a less pronounced lip, but almost all of them have this type of lip that I'm supposed to put on the board so that it is on the platform of the bathtub.
