Okay, let's get into today's story. Following the advice of his longtime therapist, a 70-year-old man named Art began writing about what happened. to him and his family 30 years earlier, in 1989. His therapist only knew that Art had lost a child and felt very guilty about it, but the conditions under which the child was lost were always very gray even though art had been his patient for years and the therapist had repeatedly tried to get more information. Know? Was this a child that was lost during pregnancy? Was this a child who was born and died or ran away?

Those details never came up and every time the therapist tried to delve deeper into the art he backed away closely. and he didn't want to talk about it and finally his therapist said, you just need to find a way to talk about this stuff, if you're not going to talk about it with me then maybe you should write it all down in a private journal. It will be a very cathartic experience and might help you get over the guilt you feel, so Art reluctantly agrees, goes home, pulls out a piece of paper, and starts writing down all the details of everything that happened before that. day in 1989 and what really happened that day in 1989 and when he finished and had the opportunity to see what he had written, he didn't feel better, he felt worse, he felt guiltier, but that's because art had a secret that the therapist didn't know and now that it was on paper, I suddenly felt like you know what, before I die I have to tell the world what my wife and I did, so in 2019 he took all those notes I had written down. he talked about what had happened and posted it on reddit.

This is his

story. The son of art was very, very worried. He would say that if you've seen the movie, we need to talk about Kevin, where a couple's son turns out to be a total psychopath. He says it's a pretty good representation of what home life was like with our son from the day Art's son was born in 1971. It was like something was wrong with him. Art and his wife Lisa had planned this pregnancy and were ecstatic when their baby was born. He was welcomed into the world and they showered him with affection and love and did everything they could to provide him with a warm and loving environment, but no matter what they did, it seemed like he was always miserable.

His son cried constantly for the first 13 months of his life. Life Now Art and Lisa understood that when you bring a baby home there is a good chance he will cry, but his crying was so constant and couldn't calm him down that they were worried this was more than just a colicky baby. There could be some underlying problem, so they took their son to doctors and specialists and tried every treatment under the sun, changed his diet, changed his room, sang songs, changed everything they could, but he never stopped and so on, 13 months of work. notion of qualification finally in the 14th month of his life he seemed to get over the incessant crying stage and art and lisa were so relieved that it seemed like they could finally be loving parents and not be so frustrated with their son all the time, but it seemed like now that he wasn't crying, he was still totally unhappy, his body language and everything about him said: I'm not happy, always art said that he never saw his son have a genuine, happy smile, the only time he saw anything resembling a smile.
It was when his son would smile after causing someone pain or breaking a rule or somehow being mean and then once his son started walking all he wanted to do was destroy everything in front of him, but again Art and Lisa realized that this is all pretty typical child behavior, although maybe on the more extreme end of bad behavior, but it's still in the realm of a normal child and they think that they are the reason this happens and Therefore, they do not blame their son at this time. They are still doing their best to care for him and love him the best they can.
When your son was about two years old, he learned to remove his diaper and began sneaking around the house and emptying the contents of his diaper into the corners of the house under the rugs, squishing him into the carpet and smearing him on the walls, but again Art and Lisa look in and say our son is only two, it can't be his fault, he's acting this way, it's our fault. for not finding a way to correct this behavior, but art and lisa started to move away from that opinion when their son got a little older, potty trained and out of diapers and still walking around the house, bending down and walking. to the bathroom all over the house making a mess at every possible opportunity and not only when he was four five six years old until he was 15 years old he was doing this and he stopped doing it in random corners and started going alone to his parents' room every Once he could open the sheets, go in, go to the bathroom, close it again and leave it, it got to the point where Art and Lisa literally couldn't stop their son from doing this, he was absolutely determined.
To do this, every time they were out, he would even sneak in through the windows to do this, I mean, he was dead set on going to the bathroom in his bed, so they had to start putting locks on the windows and doors of his bedroom, but when they finally secured that room where he couldn't really get in anymore, he started going to the bathroom right outside their door and to the other beds in the house, so they started investing in locks on all the doors. They even replaced the doors because they were too flimsy and they thought there was a high chance he would kick them to try to open them, so they put these big thick doors all over the house and put these big locks with key locks everywhere. over the house to prevent his son from entering and going to the bathroom, over all the sheets as his son grew he became more and more unruly, far beyond going to the bathroom, in different places he became violent and bit and kicked and scratched and spat at anyone who approached him he was a wild animal before he was nine he had been expelled from school two separate times when they let him back a third time apparently he did something so bad that he was actually expelled, a nine year old boy he's being expelled from school, so they had to enroll him in this other special school that would accept him with his story, but

part

of the deal with this school is that you don't have any interaction with others. students, he was considered too dangerous to be around other children, so he was totally isolated at school and ultimately that made him much worse once he enrolled in school, he became very violent at home, he would come back from school and it was going well. he would go into the kitchen and pull out a knife and start threatening his parents to the point where they had to close all the kitchen drawers, once all the knives were locked in Art's house their son started stealing knives from the neighbor's house. house he would smuggle them into the house and at night he would take them out and try to stab Art and on two different occasions he was successful and Art still has scars on his leg and Art's son was not only attacking his parents but also attacking the local animals that were helpless, he blinded one of the local dogs that was running around the area by just stabbing it in the eye, one day he went after one of the stray cats and set its tail on fire and, honestly, the art no They even knew the other harm he had done to other animals or even other people, although Art and Lisa were greatly resentful of their son for how badly he treated them and how difficult he was making their lives, they recognized that it was about a child who needed help and so They did everything they could to help him by enrolling him in that special school that ultimately isolated him, but it was an attempt to try to help him or take him to different therapists, psychologists and doctors, give him different medications and take him to meditation consultants.
I mean, whatever, they tried everything they could to try to help this kid, but nothing worked, he just got angrier and angrier and got bigger and stronger and more aggressive and violent and eventually Art and Lisa say: what do we do about it? What started happening over the next few years is art and Lisa became a prisoner of her own home and every time her son was around they felt insecure around him, he was a wild card and he had these crazy outbursts of anger and he was clearly prone to extreme violence and so they started using those heavy doors and locks to lock themselves away from their son, it was the only way they felt safe and with that in mind let's fast forward to 1988 when Art's son is now 16 years and Art and Lisa discover that being pregnant again was a surprise and they were not happy with it, in fact, because of how bad things had gone for their son, they were very afraid that another child would be just as bad and they could not go back to go through this.
So they decided they weren't going to break up, but if they realized from the beginning that this child was a big problem, no matter how horrible they felt, they knew they would give him up for adoption, they just couldn't do this again. time they had a daughter and she was normal, she looked nothing like her son, she didn't come home and cried constantly, she smiled and laughed and after a few months she slept through the night and was reaching her milestones and seemed happy. and she was easy and it was at that moment that art and lisa started to realize how bad their son was seeing how wonderful their daughter was just amplified all of their son's atrocious behavior for the first 16 years of his life and so art and lisa really started to see their son more as a lost cause and were less interested in going through the motions of trying to find some way to help him when they knew it wasn't going to work, it had never worked and he's just a A couple of years away from turning 18, he can go out on his own and figure it out for himself and now, because they didn't care about him as much anymore, suddenly his behavior was intolerable and every time he misbehaved, they would never lend him a hand. . about him, but they weren't afraid to tell him to basically get out of here, we're not going to tolerate this leave and so regularly art and lisa would have these horrible shouting matches with their son until their son would basically run away in a anger and then he would come back hours later or even a couple of days later and art said he started to expect to fight with his son because every time they fought it meant that his son would be gone for a while afterwards and there would be some peace and calm inside. from the house, but at the same time Art and Lisa were worried that one of these days he would come back after one of these fights and kill us, so it went on like this for about a year until a rainy day came. in 1989, when her son was almost 18 years old and her daughter almost 1 year old, now the house they lived in was a single-story bungalow and her daughter's room was against a side wall where there was a window that looked outside that morning art and lisa had gotten into one of the worst shouting matches they had ever had with their son and he left angry and they closed the door behind him after a couple of hours their son is still gone and they don't expect to see him .
Any time soon and your daughter is starting to get restless, she seems tired, so they go into her room, put her in her crib for a nap and then Art and Lisa leave her room, close the door behind them and sit on the kitchen. A couple of minutes later they hear their daughter screaming at the top of her lungs and Lisa immediately recognizes that this is no ordinary cry, this sounds like something is terribly wrong, they get up and run down the hall to a room and try the door. handle but it is closed they run back to the kitchen they take the keys they come back they are fiddling with the keys they finally open it and they are in the back of the room standing next to the crib there is their son and he is holding a knife and he sticks it in his face and Art said he looked at his daughter and he could see blood on her stomach and blood on her arm and she was screaming and then he thinks to himself, thank God she's still alive and instinctively Art starts to run. to try to get between his son and daughter, but before he could get there, his wife had moved much faster and charged and broke his son's hand, the knife fell to the ground, he pushed him as hard as he could and He crashes into the wall and falls to the floor.
He immediately reaches into the crib, picks up her daughter and runs to the other side of the room and he looks at her. She's crying. She is in pain. She is

scare

d. But he can see the cuts. She is superficial, he turns around and you can see that her wife is standing there with her bald fists standing in front of her son, her son stands up and he looks at her with no emotion on her face, art would even say thatIt was like he was looking at an alien, this person was not human, how could they do this to his own sister, to a baby?
And he stared at him and then he noticed his wife moving towards their son like she was going to attack him and this is where Art says he knew he was supposed to go there and stop what was about to happen but he didn't. He did and this is the

part

of the story where Art reveals that his wife is an amazing boxer and he knew it. she could beat up almost anyone. The son is so shocked by how quickly this has happened that he is not doing anything, he is not positioning himself to defend himself or even to preemptively attack his mother, he is just standing there, looking at his mother. mother with no expression on her face and that's when Art's wife finishes and punches him in the face knocking his head back and Art immediately said he realized his nose was broken, blood was splashed all over his face and falls to the ground until that moment. neither lisa nor art had ever laid a hand on their son, even when she stabbed art twice in the legs, they never physically hit their son, but this was different, their son had crossed the line and could never come back, so even though art knew if he doesn't intervene his wife is going to beat his son to death even though he knew that was going to happen, he remembers thinking it through, he turns around and leaves the room with his daughter while Art cleans his daughter and he puts a band on it. helps with each of the cuts that were inflicted on him, he hears in the other room his son yelling at him and yelling at his mother saying: I'm going to kill you and she just beats him mercilessly, kicks him and crushes him, he's not slowing down speed at all. and art remembers when he picked up his daughter after putting all the band aids on her and she calmed down a little, he still heard his wife hitting, kicking and crushing their son who is now unconscious again, art knows if i don't.
He goes in there now. My unconscious son is getting kicked in the head by his mother. If he doesn't go in there, he will surely die, but art wants that to happen, so he doesn't go in there, but he simply rocks his daughter. until she falls asleep and when she is snoring in his arms, his wife is still hitting, kicking and crushing her son, who hasn't made a sound in a long time. Art just sits at the kitchen table, carries his daughter on his shoulder and just listens to his wife finish what she's doing and finally everything goes quiet and his wife walks out of the room and she's covered in blood, her His hands are swollen and red and his chest pounds as if he has been running a race.
She goes into the kitchen and sits at the table next to Art and looks at him and he looks at her and he just says, Is he dead? She says, I hope so and he just says, Yeah, me too Art and Lisa sat at the kitchen table for a long time. At that moment no sound was heard coming from the room where his son was and finally Lisa starts crying and goes and takes a shower, at which point Art gets up and goes to the room where his son was and that's when You can tell that your son is. he is actually still alive, he walks in and can see his son still breathing, but he is covered in blood, he has vomit, he has clearly wet his pants, his teeth have been knocked out, his entire face is bloody, bruised and swollen, and he is approaches him. and he thinks there's no way he can survive this, but art has a kind of internal crisis because he wants him to die, he doesn't want him to live and so that decision of should he call an ambulance or should he call the police was one really hard to do because none of them really served the purpose he or his wife wanted and as he's standing there wondering what to do he hears his wife get out of the shower and he leaves the room and talks to his wife and they decide we're not going We're going to call the police, we're not going to call any ambulance, we're not going to do anything and at that same moment they walked through their house, picked up a couple of things and headed down the stairs to the basement where they had a suite for the in-laws that It was basically a small apartment that they didn't really use but it had everything they needed and they moved in and they locked the only door that led there and they locked the side door too.
Well, they figured if he lived there would be enough food to get them through a few weeks. There's water up there, bedrooms, bathrooms, he had all that and at some point he would run out of food and he would have to leave or he would die. upstairs and in a couple of weeks they would go up and deal with it for the next week they started hearing movement upstairs which told them he was alive but he wasn't moving much it was enough to tell them someone was. Up there they thought that, well, he would probably be lying down most of the time recovering, so Art started going back to work, going out the side door and every time he went out he was in the driveway, waiting for his son to come out and telling him. attacked but he never did and his wife Lisa stayed with their daughter 24/7, she stayed in the house and at no time did the son try to come down the stairs and try to attack her or them At no point, probably because he was afraid of his mother, about three weeks after the attack they were in bed in the basement and they heard him coming up the stairs completely furious, screaming, punching walls, breaking things and they decided, you know, whatever. up there, it's not worth going up there and confronting him, let him do it. whatever and then the next day it was totally quiet and for the next few days art and lisa listened very carefully to see if they could hear him moving around upstairs but they couldn't and finally art and lisa decide to go up to the main floor and see if He is there when they open the door, they find that the entire upstairs is completely destroyed, every piece of furniture is ruined, all the windows are broken, there is glass everywhere, there are brown stains on all the walls, but his son is not there and so they thought that that night, when they heard him going crazy upstairs, he already knew he was going to leave, he just wanted to ruin their house before he did, even though his son was gone, they had no idea of whether he was going to return. or not, and so for days, weeks and months they lived in fear that their son would show up one day and kill them, but he never did and then, three years after the incident, they moved away and were not in contact with their sons, They hadn't seen him so he had no idea where they were going and they had no way to contact him so that was it, they just restarted somewhere else and fast forward to 2019 when Art is making this post on Reddit and saying that he I've done.
I haven't seen my son since 1989 and I don't want to see him again and Art goes on to say that while he hopes his son can overcome his demons and live a normal life, he said if he couldn't do that then if he was out there still causing pain and misery to other people art says hope whoever was on the receiving end of that finished the job and killed him so that will be it guys hope you enjoyed today's story if you found the secret . let us know in the comments what it is and where you found it, what the timestamp is and if you're the first to do it accurately, we'll pin you at the top of the comments section if you enjoyed today's video and haven't .
