You will have one and it is tried and true. My whole family makes this recipe, so I hope you enjoy it, but without further ado, be sure to subscribe, like this video, and let's get started today. Here is an overview of the kitchen. We have floating shelves. I'm going to decorate the hood vent a little bit, the island, and then we have these floating shelves outside of the refrigerator, so we have a big area to decorate. I'm really excited to style it. these shelves and I have a big arrangement planned for the island, so let's get started.
I also put up this Christmas tree a few weeks ago, when I was taking out all my big trees, it was just a little extra tree I had and I kept it. I put it in a wicker basket and just put a blanket on the bottom so it was nice and safe. , but it's a super easy way to spruce up a tree you already have. We are starting with the floating shelves. next to the kitchen sink and I'm going to start combining things in groups of three, so I have three bowls stacked on top of a bunch of small plates.
I try to keep all my decor pretty neutral and I also love to use practical things, so I'm putting some cookbooks on the top shelf, as well as my little recipe box, that way I'll be able to reach in and grab it when needed. I also have a ceramic piece and then I have this vase again, all in very neutral colors. I'm going to add a little bit of Green to this taller vase and then I'm going to put a little ceramic house to tie it all together and again to keep the groups of Three And then I have two wooden chandeliers that I like Use it so they can come down very easily and then I have this "everything is calm, everything is bright" sign that will bring together a little bit of that black and gold and that's all I'm going for to do for this side of the shelves. let's go to the other side on this side I want to bring in more glass elements so I'm tying the white with these that match the plates on the other side and then I'm putting in these glasses that are glass and have some texture to them and I love using them for special occasions.
I'll also bring that white and ceramic mix with this pitcher and then I'll bring that glass. I have a jar of pine cones. I love wearing this for winter and after. I'm going to make a small bell and inside it I'm going to use this napkin holder. You won't be able to see the burlap, but I love the little bit of greenery, the cinnamon stick, and the pine. which it has and it looks great once I put the hood on top, so that's another glass element. Next, I'm going to add some more of those white plates, the same ones, and I'm going to add this little mini wreath.
I'll just spruce it up a little bit and then add three bowls on top and they'll be nice and secure. Next, I'll set up my little diffuser station. I like to keep it by the sink and since people like to come in the door, while I was putting this together I thought it would be a great gift idea if you had a mom or a sister or just someone who likes a good smelling

home

. . This would make a really nice and nice gift, so I'm going to layer a little cutting board and use that to hold everything together so you can put a cutting board on it and then I'll show you my favorite diffuser.
I actually received this as a Christmas gift last year. for my mother-in-law and it's a really nice wood and glass diffuser from Amazon. I'll link it below, but I'll link it below and put it on The Cutting Board. This is my favorite oil blend. season, this is for the good and roots of my friend Jennifer, you have heard me talk about her several times. I love her oils and I did a collaboration with her in the summer and that oil is like a lavender scent and it's available all year round. round, but this one is theirs, it's the seasonal oil blend, it smells so good, it has a little pine smell, it's a little citrusy, it's hot, it smells so good and clean, in about half a bottle, so it has It has been very appreciated in my house and every time someone comes in they say: what is that smell?
It is this mixture for diffuser. I love it. I'm going to place this right next to the diffuser. This little trio would make such a cute little gift if you want it. I don't know what to give someone. I feel like that little setup would be really cute and then to finish it off I'm just going to add this cute little tin bucket with a Christmas tree on top. This was a Hobby Lobby find, I think after Christmas. I picked this up, it was originally 12.99. I don't remember seeing it at Hobby Lobby this year so I don't know if they sold it again and then just a little flocked tree and I'm going to put it next to it. and I like to add bigger things to hide the diffuser wire, so let's fill it up and make it smell nice here. alien alien on the other side of the cabinet under the shelf.
I'm going to set up a little hot chocolate bar and I'm going to start by putting this Riser and I have the Sanuk mugs that I bought at Hobby Lobby this year they were 70 off, I think they were like three dollars each. I'm going to put up another mini wreath top with another Santa mug and then I'm going to set up my hot chocolate station so I have this really cute picture, this one you can put on the stove and heat up your milk or water whatever from home and the hand at the end. year and then I'm going to use some glass containers to put my hot chocolate mix in.
I'm also going to put one in with some marshmallows and then I have a little glass jar that I'm going to put some gold stir sticks in. I'm going to put them all together again in groups of three apart from the little jug, but this will be a very handy little stand and then to tie it all together I found this hot chocolate sign at Hobby Lobby and again it had 70 off I mean they were like two or three dollars and I'm going to use a little command hook to hang it and then I'm going to tie everything up with this little striped towel, this tree wasn't pre-lit so I'm just going to add a strand of Twinkle lights.
I feel like it needs that cozy little atmosphere, so that's what I'm doing here. I love getting them at Sam's Club. You can get four strings with batteries for like ten dollars. It's like that. It's a good deal, so I always stock up on them and spread them around the house. Now we are going to place our soaps and so on. I have this dollar target place dish container, a riser and a candle, and I always like to put a little pine tree next to the sink and of course I have my pine scented soap in there, so nice, and then I found this homemade tea towel with hot chocolate recipe so I'm going to put it in my dishwasher now we're going to move on to the wall next to the stove and I have a cake stand that goes with that tiered tray and I'm just going to add some ceramic houses that They light up at night.
I'm going to put the glass on top, it's like a big cloche, it would also be really cute with some twinkling lights on there and then I also have my cookbook stand. I love Hearth in my hand, that's where it's from too and then I have the book Cozy white Seasons by Liz Marie and I'm going to put a little hot chocolate page in there I thought it was very inspiring and then I felt like I needed something behind the stove so I'm adding this little Peg rail that has some hooks here, this will be temporary just until we get our backsplash and I'm going to add some wood trays.
I love this Christmas tree, it says home for the holidays. I love it so much and I feel like it gives a lot of texture and then I bought this wreath at Hobby Lobby and it was 70 off and it also has some really pretty brass bells and a black velvet ribbon so I'm going to hang it with a command hook. Next, we're going to design the floating shelves next to the refrigerator and I'm going to mix it up. in a lot of texture with Pottery glassware and I'm also adding some Golds and I love this sign that I bought from Kirkland's this year and I also love spraying trees and just green bands and just creating different little vignettes so I'll give you a look at Close here a little bit of all the little areas I put together, but like the ceramic tree bells, some little Santa mugs, just different things I had on hand and I love how it turned out.
I feel like this is such a cozy little corner. Now I have my flour, sugar and brown sugar canisters, I bought these at Kirkland's this year, they were on clearance and I love the wooden lids they have. I feel like they're so cute and then I have this cutting board that I'm going to put my KitchenAid mixer on to grind it up a little bit and then I have this powdered sugar sifter, I think that's what it's called and I'm gluing on a little Christmas tree. there and placing it next to the mixer, then I'm creating a little vignette with a cutting board, a ceramic crock full of wooden spoons that I can reach for while cooking, some plates and a small candle and then of course my salt . and pepper shakers next to the stove and then I decided to add a pot holder too to this little shelf just because it's practical and then I'm also going to hang a little tea towel that says joy right next to the stove and that's Now that we're moving to the island, I found this very large gold tray from TJ Maxx for 16.99 that I'm going to use.
I also have this big white image where I'm going to put some Greenery sprigs on these. They are from Hobby Lobby, they are really cheap. I'm putting out a wooden bowl with some antique looking gold bells and I'm just going to place them in there. I didn't have anywhere else to hang them so I thought that was perfect and then some candles that I can light at night and that's it for the kitchen. Okay, the kitchen is officially decorated. I'm going to give you a little tour and a close look at all the little vignettes and different areas and then We'll start making some cookies, so stay tuned, but first let's do a little tour.
Hello Santa, the city is covered in snow tonight. Where did my love go? Santa. I'm waiting for him, but he's not inside and all the gifts are still ready. the tree don't mean anything to this here with me if you know where this place is strange take it and I'll wait here by the candles so please move away bring my love back tonight okay there's the kitchen. I hope you enjoyed that little tour. I will do a layout similar to a full kitchen and where we get our appliance cabinets from. All of that in a separate video that will be out very soon once we finish our backsplash, but we got these bar stools a few weeks ago.
They are from Wayfair and they are very sturdy, very good quality, so I am very glad I chose something that I can clean. I'll link them below, but now that we have a clean kitchen, let's start baking them all. Okay, let's get baking, so I'll have this recipe linked down below in the description if you want to take a screenshot, but I'll also walk you through it here first. I'm going to add 3 4 a cup of regular. sugar as well as 3 4 cups of packed light brown sugar and then I'll add a stick of butter flavored Crisco and then you'll just mix all of that together.
What I love about this recipe is that it isall one. So easy bowl after it's all rich and creamy. I'm going to add two eggs and these are just regular large eggs and then I'm going to add a teaspoon of vanilla, you can use vanilla extract or real vanilla and half a teaspoon of water, mix all of that together and then once incorporated you're going to mix in two cups of flour, you can add this all at once or you can also add it gradually as well as a teaspoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of salt, you will mix all of that together and then see if you need a little more flour, you don't want the dough to be too sticky and a once you have the consistency you would like just add half a bag of mini semi sweet chocolate chips mix that in and then you have the dough ready to go and I like to use a large cookie scoop and I love these air

bake

d pans work so well which I bought them as a wedding gift and they held up pretty well, so I'll put them in the oven for about nine to eleven minutes for the larger cookies at 375 degrees and just wait for them. for baking normally these are two full pans, these are the large pans for air baking and I'm still getting used to my oven so they are a little overcooked for my taste but we still really enjoyed them and I made the next batch . much better these are perfect this is the consistency we love so I hope you enjoy this recipe and let me know if you make them right that's all for today's video.
