NEW Dollar Tree DIY Spring Decor 2020

Feb 27, 2020
I'm looking for a way to retune Hello everyone, welcome back to measure and mix. I know it's been over a week since I had a new video, but I'm back. I was sick, so I feel a lot better and I'm ready to do something. Dollar Tree Spring DIY, if you're new to my channel, hit the subscribe button and don't forget to ring the bell to get notifications. Well, let's start with this first DIY. I'm going to use two of the bamboo cutting boards from Dollar Tree. Now, if you can't find them or don't have any of these, you can definitely use some scrap wood or one of the Dollar Tree signs.

I had them lying around so I wanted to go ahead and use them now that I gave them away. I put two coats of white chalk paint on them before the second coat of white chalk paint, although I came in and drilled two holes in the top of each of these cutting boards so I would have something to hang them with after I was done and then after Of the two. the layers of white paint were dry. I came back with a piece of sandpaper and just sanded the edges to give it a more rustic farmhouse look.

More Interesting Facts About,

Next, I'll pull out one of these Easter baskets I already had lying around and I'm pretty sure. this one was from Dollar Tree from years before. I have a lot of Easter baskets, so I didn't even have to buy one, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and tear off the handle and then I'm going to cut the Easter basket in half all the way down so I have two pieces of Easter basket and the bottom part of the middle was a little difficult to cut because of the layers of bamboo in the basket, but I just went through it and got them.

I cut them all out one by one and then came back with half the basket and one of the cutting boards and I'm just going to place that half of the basket on top of the cutting board and I just cut the bottom of the basket off. because I don't need it, so I'm just going to look at the sides where I need to cut them and adjust the bamboo basket weave a little bit if I need to and then once I have it where I like it. I'm going to go ahead and use some hot glue, put a little bit on each side of the cutting board under the basket to stick that basket to the cutting board.

Now I'm not going to lie, this was a little difficult and the hot glue just didn't want to stay stuck to the painted cutting board, so if you are going to do this, I would recommend using a small staple gun and stapling the basket to the board. cutting maybe just to make sure it stays or use a little bit of super glue or some type of heavier glue to make sure it stayed stuck, now I did make sure it wasn't completely stuck and that way I had a little pocket on the top of the basket to put some flowers.
Then after I glued it all together, I went ahead and gave it a coat of white chalk paint. You can leave it colored, the basket colored if you wanted. I just wanted to give mine a more neutral feel. Then next I'm going to make a hanger for this, so I grabbed some of these wooden beads that I bought on Amazon. I'll leave a link below. There are like 300 of them all the same size and it's a pretty decent deal. I just strung them together. On a wire strand that I bought from Dollar Tree I made, I thought of 16 wooden beads and then I just tied them on the back, then I took some of these cute floral flowers from Dollar Tree and put them in the basket and I did it.
Same for the other cutting board I made with this one and I love how it turned out for the spray. It feels like it never happened. Maybe it's just a dream. My imagination for the second DIY. I'm going to use six of these 8 by 10 stretched canvases from Dollar Tree, but what I'm going to do is remove the staples from the back of each of these and I just used a little pry to remove the staples, but you can use a screwdriver flat tipped, something like that. flat to get under those staples to remove that, now I'm going to go ahead and remove the canvas from the frame and I'm going to turn that canvas over to the right side and then I'm going to take the frame and put it on.
I put it on top of the right side of the canvas and I'm just going to use a little bit of hot glue on the frame to stick the frame to the canvas and then I took a utility knife, this one is from Dollar Tree and I carefully cut it out. The edges of the canvas around all four sides of the frame so that everything is even and has a nice clean edge, and then I did this with all six canvases. It probably took me 20-25 minutes to make them all below. I'm going to grab these letter templates that I bought from Menards.
There are six-inch letter templates. I'll try to link some similar ones from Amazon if I can find any, but all I'm going to do is spell the word

spring

and I'll just spell it doing one letter per canvas, so for the first canvas for the first letter s I made the s come as as much as I could to the bottom of the frame because I'm going to put something on top. of the S, if that makes sense, you'll see in a minute, but for the rest of the letters I just lined up the stencil on the bottom of the frame and then stenciled it with just a little bit of black acrylic paint.
I think the acrylic paint came from Dollar Tree and then I didn't do the eye because I'm also doing something different for the eye. Well, once I had the SP, they're on Angie, all the templates on five of the canvases. I had a leftover canvas that I saved for the eye and what I was going to do was draw a tulip on that canvas from the eye. I actually got this idea from Pinterest. I saw a sign on the porch where they had written

spring

and then they used the tulip for the eye and I just thought. that was so cute and perfect, so I looked at that photo on Pinterest and tried to draw freehand with a pencil on the canvas the same type of tulip they had on theirs and then I came back with some pink chalk paint and a brush small and I just filled it into the tulip and then went back with some green chalk paint and filled in the stem and leaves of the tulip.
I think it turned out super cute. Is not perfect. I'm not an artist, but I like how it turned out. I think crafting, drawing and painting is just about having fun and experimenting, so like I said before, I left a little space on top of my s so I could write the word hello and I just used a pencil to write the word hello. I went out first, that way if I made a mistake I could come back, compete and fix it until I got it the way I liked it. Then I just took a paint pen in black, traced the pencil marks and filled in the lines to make them look a little thicker and then went back with the eraser to erase the pencil marks, so now it's time to put it all together. sign, so I'm just lining up my letters or my canvases vertically and I'm just using a little bit of hot glue to stick the frames together.
I would recommend using maybe a little bit of wood glue instead and then maybe going to the back of the frames and then stapling them just to make sure it's more secure, but I'm only using hot glue for my purposes because it dries very quick, it's easy for me to use it for video purposes, but I love how this sign turned out for spring. I think it's perfect for the ultimate DIY. I'm going to use one of these dish towels from Dollar Tree to create a cute spring pillow. I've done this before on my channel and I've seen other YouTubers do it.
It's a super easy way to add some seasonal

decor

to your home and it's only $1. So what I did was I took the towel and I just left it where it was folded and then I just lined up the seams and now I'm just taking some hot glue and gluing the seams on two sides leaving one side. open it so I can fill it with some filling. Now I just used some polyethylene that I already had, but you could use filling from an old pillow or something, anything you have to fill would work and then once it's all filled.
I just hot glued the other side down and you can use Singham tape or you can even sew this on if you want but honestly hot glue works perfectly for me and it's easy because I use it all the time and that's it. this cute spring pillow I'm home thank you all so much for watching today be sure to like this video don't forget to subscribe ring the bell share this video with someone you know and I'll see you next time take care bye
