this

up, I saw that they had it. There was a video that they made recently of the original coming out last year is actually larger than the original x5 and you guessed it,

this

fourth generation model is larger than the latest x5, especially in the wheelbase, the wheelbase is 42 millimeters longer, the vehicle It's only 36 millimeters longer overall, but it's quite a bit wider, 66 millimeters wider and 19 millimeters taller, so they keep making vehicles bigger and bigger and there's one even bigger than this, it's called the x7 and stay tuned.

I'll have a very brief

review

of that because I have the book x7 now talking about bigger. I find everything on the exterior of this new x5 to be a bit over the top. The large grille on the front is the most notable. Large air inlets at the rear. You have bigger taillights. and huge exhaust tips, so everything looks a little cartoony, not as cartoony as the x7, but that's almost ridiculous, but I think what these oversized elements do, whether it's the grill, the air intakes or the exhaust tips. It's kind of an imitation of the fact that this vehicle has actually grown because when you look at it it doesn't look much bigger than the previous model, the most notable thing is that kick around the rear wheel arch that gives it a slightly larger look. big, but you have to decide if you like the direction BMW is going or not.

More Interesting Facts About,

I can tell you that you get standard adaptive LED headlights on the front standard LED taillights and there's also a laser headlight package available now to cast a wider net that they have. two different lines, they have line X and line M, line M is the one I'm driving now. The When you get this M line you get the body painted rocker panels and on all x5 wheel sizes now or standard 20 inch wheels which is nice in this case. It's supposed to have optional 21-inch wheels, but they still have winter tires. Can you believe it's almost June?

You can get wheels up to 22 inches, so styling is one of those subjective things that you have to decide if you like or not. and there are a large number of vehicles in this medium configuration of 5 passengers per row that have appeared in recent times, so the direct competitor is probably the new G le from Mercedes-Benz. I have had the opportunity to drive it and also the new one. Porsche Cayenne I had the chance to drive it and Audi Audi doesn't have a direct competitor except the new q8 which is a little bigger in terms of length but they have a lot of new products.

Hitting the market all at the same time and when we talk about the interior I will compare them and come to an agreement on which one I think is the best. I'll tell you why I don't stop now. And I'll talk about the interior because I think having had the opportunity to drive all of these products, I think a lot of you will be surprised because I've really outperformed BMW over the last few years. I think this one is my favorite and I'll tell you why, so the new Porsche Cayenne the Cayenne is a wonderful vehicle.
I have one but they have gone to the glass panel in the center of the console which I don't love it shows fingerprints and dust and then on the

mercedes

banz in the new GLA they have the big glass panel that runs across the center from the dash and they have their command controller which is nice but I'm not a big fan of that glass panel if you look at it This x5 looks more integrated, it has a sort of conventional instrument cluster although it's now a standard unit of Twelve point three inches which is digital in every x5, then you have the twelve point three inch screen for the infotainment or iDrive. system, but it seems more integrated into this car, the

mercedes

-benz product, it just looks like a slab that they glued on the dashboard and speaking of the iDrive system, without a doubt, now this is the best infotainment system in the luxury sphere , it's easy to use. communicative, it doesn't take long to realize now, it wasn't long ago that I Drive was my least favorite, but now it has become my favorite and the other thing I love about the inside of this product is that it has a lot of redundant buttons. switches for the radio for the heater controls, you can use this iDrive system or you can use the normal keys, it's up to you what you want, the steering wheel is nice and big, but here's the other thing: the fit and finish here is really seconds. and I think Porsche has a fantastic interior.
I would put it in second place and here is one reason why Mercedes-Benz is not getting first place because Mercedes Banz cheapened in an area that I think is crucial: the bottom of the doors on this x5. they still have the soft touch panels, that really nice soft foam feel on the GL II, they switched to a hard plastic and made that part of the door cheaper which shows they aren't putting as much care and consideration into this, so check out For example, the Q8 now has a fully digital dashboard with many screens and for those who like touch screens, you may be attracted to that, but I still like the fact that it has a rotary dial here, the iDrive It's easy to use, now the benefit of having a larger X5 is that you have plenty of room in the back seat and the cargo area is very useful.
This is what is a big update for me, it's a simple thing, they still have that clamshell rear hatch where the top goes up and then you have the little tailgate underneath, it's now fully automatic with the old system, when you closed it You had to manually lift the bottom, now it's all done automatically so that's a big win but you know a good looking vehicle very well. installed inside, I think they have done a great job. Now there are differences when we get out again and start driving. I'll explain it to you now, so a big difference between this and the G le is the G le.
Now available with a turbo four-cylinder engine. Now of course BMW could add it to this line, but from the beginning they come with the x5 for TI and the 50 i. The 50 i is the turbo v8 model that most people don't use. buy that one, most people buy this one, the turbocharged inline six cylinder engine with 335 horsepower, it is rated at 330 pound-feet of torque, the best thing is that the maximum torque kicks in at 1500 rpm and this vehicle, although it is larger, will run to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.5 seconds and that is not far behind and in large part it is because they have retuned the 8 speed automatic transmission, it feels very responsive and then you add all the things that you can get in this new product so that I can get air suspension I don't like air suspension, but I am here to tell you that the air suspension that this car is equipped with is better than that of the Mercedes-Benz.
Mercedes-Benz is really that traditional floating air suspension. This can be done. that if you put it in comfort but when you put it in sport it is a much more dynamic feeling than the Mercedes product. This is what Mercedes-Benz has that turbo four-cylinder engine, but they have also gone back to an inline 6-cylinder engine. It has more power than BMW's inline 6, but you know what a wonderful combination it is, this inline 6 with all that torque and the wonderful 8-speed automatic transmission is a very attractive package. The interesting thing is that this new x5 has exactly the same thing. horsepower like the base model Porsche Cayenne, 335 horsepower, but I recently drove that base model and it felt actually pretty smooth and it surprised me after not having been in it for a while.
I was surprised how smooth the new Cayenne is if there aren't things like dynamic chassis control, so those kinds of things are also available in this car. You can also get adaptive suspension with actuators on the control arms to help you through corners. Air suspension. You can even get active rear steering. Things that Mercedes has, all the things that Audi has and all the things that Porsche has are now available in all of these premium lines, so it basically comes down to how they baked the cake, they have all the same ingredients. What the other brands have is the way they combine it that makes this x5 different, so one of the problems you have when trying these vehicles is that you are at the mercy of the brand and the car they give you, for For example, having It was at the launch of the Porsche Cayenne, all the vehicles that were there had the dynamic control of the Porsche chassis in the rear direction.
The same with the launch of the Mercedes G le. All had air suspension with active rear steering. This car has the air suspension on it. Active rear steering, so they are all equipped fairly similarly, but there may be differences. All I will tell you is that the Mercedes-Benz GLA turbo four-cylinder is surprisingly good, the Porsche Cayenne. I've had the opportunity to drive it with the air suspension and the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and then just the passive suspension and I think that if you are a performance driver, the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control is worth it; If you're not, the base model is a good all-rounder.
GL II for my taste is too soft, well where does that leave this x5? Well, it's like the Goldilocks effect, it's doing everything right. I like the familiarity of the interior, but the nice updates they have introduced with the screens. are as big as all the others, the iDrive is without a doubt the clear winner of the group. I think the inline 6 cylinder engine has proven itself in the market, it is a wonderful engine, the 8 speed automatic transmission too and this product is just a little bit bigger to give space to more members of your family.
The only thing I don't like is that I think the styling has become a little cartoony at BMW, so other than the exterior styling, I think this is the winner. I think this is the one. that's the best kind of off-road vehicle and it does everything very, very well. If you want distinctive appeal you'll go to Porsche, if you want traditional luxury you'll go to Mercedes-Benz, if you want a dynamic car that offers style. A little bit of both, this is it for now because BMW does not offer a turbo four in this product, but they could still add it to compete with Mercedes-Benz.
The price is more expensive, starting at 71 thousand dollars in the Canadian market. The one I drive here today is around 88,000 with AB almost at $9,000, kind of a premium package included in this car, so they can be very expensive, what do you think you like the style? Do you like the way BMW goes with its styling is really subjective, so leave your comments below, what do you think of the interior? What do you think of the streaming options? I think this is a pretty attractive package for anyone in the market for a two-row, five-passenger SUV. I'm going to buy the x7 now as the car costs are really bold.
