More Interesting Facts About,

I'd like to point out also that I'm going to completely screw my cookies into my own computer so I can go to websites and show you sites that you should stay away from. First of all, Norton Norton, my goodness, Norton used to just be a basic antivirus that in its beginnings really did its job, unfortunately Norton also became a money making machine where it decided to start building complete suits and with that it becomes a lot of cost drawbacks and to be honest it's not really like that. Do anything for your system if you want to know how much Norton affects your PC's performance other than not really protecting it, like the amount of stuff that actually gets through Norton's malware trackers and actual virus scans is crazy , but run a benchmark with Norton running and then turn off Norton and run a benchmark and you will be surprised how many resources Norton uses, of course you can't mention Norton without mentioning Maffy, actually, if any maybe he's bored. just look up maffy's own story, that's actually his name, you'll find a story about fancy vacations and things like that, and actually I think we probably had to mute some of those words as we went along because of the algorithm. actually a similar made for tv story but again its complete and utter rubbish and both sl Sweet shows also now include the latest fad that is VPNs so do yourself an absolutely positive favor

Fun fact: You know that one of the latest email fishing scams and scams actually involves Norton and Maffy, not officially, but because people do not run this software and remove it from their systems as fast as they can, Scammers know that if they send you an email. Thank you for resubscribing to Norton. We just charged your account $560 for your annual subscription or whatever and gave you a phone number to call. Guess what you just called a scam center that is now going to go through all the processes to try to steal your information looking for you to contact them thinking about automatically renewing with Norton.

Fun fact, my mom actually fell in love with this and they're really looking for people who just aren't well versed. on computers for these scans to work so if you've ever received one of those emails just throw it in the trash if you know you've never signed up for Norton never click on anything on your Emil that's just a small protective measure to never click. a link in your email to something you don't trust anyway, that being said lets move on to the next thing which is like the last chance to make money for software developers we are talking about vpns of course now vpns or virtual private network were a thing actually, that was very necessary for a long time to get around things like regional blocks and things like that were very useful when it came to trying to watch YouTube in countries where maybe let's say YouTube was banned for whatever reason , those countries exist and to this day there are certain types of content or TV shows that may be available on Netflix in one region and not another, so you can install a VPN, simply change the location where you are, it generates a IP and a VPN through that tunnel through that country. or whatever and then go back to where you want to go although you may not have the fastest internet speed through their tunnel because really for the free versions they had very slow connections in that tunnel and then in the paid versions they give you better speed and stuff and it would give you access to things in different parts of the world that were region locked on top of that, although they always advertise this as protecting your data because what it does is it encrypts and decrypts at each end of that tunnel, so Any of that information that is obtained along the way cannot be deciphered.
The reason you would want to encrypt your data and a VPN seems like a great idea if you are doing online shopping or online banking or anything else. A kind of transformation or transfer of sensitive data online, which would be practically anything nowadays with our current busy electronic lifestyles, where hackers and others obtain that information from public Wi-Fi networks or airport networks, Starbucks or any random Wi-Fi someone might leave open. and unlocked only in the hope that someone would connect to it to try to sniff out that information, you would have no chance of getting that information.
Unfortunately, VPNs have become a very lucrative business and with that lucrative business comes opportunities to just get you killed. for something that for the most part doesn't even work that well anymore, the reason I say that is because ISPs have caught on to VPNs and tunnels, so what they've started doing is being able to determine if a VPN is being used and then one of them throttles your connection on their own or two just deny the connection completely, so there's actually a lot of litigation going on right now for um, like open internet access and things like that still They are in litigation with many different ones. countries can't come to an agreement on how that should be handled, whereas right now the ISP is free to just close the connection completely, so VPNs are one of those things that can seem like a great idea and so it was on The day they are also another hotspot for hackers, where hackers are now targeting VPN to try to get as much data as possible from that source and that tunnel on both ends and it happened, uh nordvpn, who I have above.
Here used to be one of our sponsors in the past until they had a very egregious data loss that they tried to hide and it was one of those things that then they tried to hide it and it came to light that this would happen. It's been going on for years I said that's it. I can't trust nordvpn. I can't trust anything about them. I don't trust their VPNs, so you may wonder if a VPN is important or not. There are VPNs that are legitimate. many of them are free but you need to be careful with what is labeled as free because sometimes free software itself is intentionally snooping on the data it is encrypting, remember it is encrypting your data which means it has access to that data and everything sent.
So it's also a money making opportunity for them or potentially even an identity theft opportunity for them, so it's one of those things where if you're connected to a public VPN with Wi-Fi , it may seem like a smart idea, but do your research and actually maybe watch some of those channels that focus on some aspects of software security to find out which ones you can trust, especially if you're traveling through an airport or a Wi-Fi network. public and whether you will be on a public Wi-Fi network. Fi, for the love of God, don't go to anything sensitive like a website, uh, data like logging into YouTube, your banking, all that kind of stuff, do what you can to go into incognito mode and stay as long as possible. possible disconnected from the network, so this is the next thing. one, gosh, we've even been approached by some of these brands and I just absolutely refuse to do it.
It is any type of shopping extension, even Microsoft Edge has its own shopping extension. When you're looking for a shopping extension, it comes first. That shows up because I'm at the limit here, but Chrome has one. Amazon has one. Edge has one. one now, the goal of these extensions is the fact that the credit is complete. I guess it's just a web, a web link that shows them all. CB CSNBC or CNBC have even talked about the five best browser extensions to save you money, the penny hoarder, the point of these extensions is it's supposed to be when you're shopping and you're about to buy something, check the price of the place where you are and then compare the price with other known online shopping sources to see if it is cheaper elsewhere or you could say hello I am interested in this, let me know when somewhere you have it at its lowest price, it has been seen in times past Defaults so I can say like in the last 30 days, tell me where the lowest price is and then I can go buy it directly.
Through them, unfortunately for those shopping browser extensions, there are also extensions that are located in a very sensitive part of the Internet, which is your checkout process. Ok, I don't trust browser extensions at all. I don't trust any of them Honeys that's all for me just asking for trouble not only because it's extremely annoying that any website you've ever gone to likes for example you saw at the top of the previous page that it had extensions of hair. I don't know why it's there, it's not there anymore, but it was there and it basically could have popped up right now and said, "Hey, this extension shown here is cheaper here also becomes very intrusive on your browsing experience, like if you go to Amazon, like if you click on anything on Amazon, if you click on the product page, all this junk will appear and it's very annoying.
Yes, you can access the extension. You can adjust how invasive it is, but it is. extremely annoying. What I tend to do is if I'm going to buy something from a website like, for example, I. I bought a new truck from the company and I wanted to get an exhaust on it and I went to the website where I knew I was going to buy the one. escape, but then I just did a manual search for coupon code again, it sucks trying to find it. legit coupon sites out there, not to mention 90% of the time they don't work.
I have found some that have worked and save me like 20% on previous purchases, but I do it manually. I don't have a browser to do it. for me, but I think this is another way to slow down your PCS to make your browser have a lot of popups and your information to be tracked constantly and I'm the kind of person who doesn't like having my stuff tracked all the time. That said, I have a very basic version of Edge on this system right now that is tracking everything I'm doing, so that sucks, but I never installed any of those shopping extensions, trust me, they're going to be more. more annoying than what they're going to save you and if you're actually shopping online enough to make it worth it and you're saving a ton of money, it might be time to like Dave Ramsey or something and maybe change your habits. shopping now leads me to the next part, it's almost like I have a series of thoughts about this.
I talked about PC performance and browser performance with Ed Edge extensions and shopping extensions that go with anything that is advertised as a PC performance booster. Stay away from it, stay as far away as possible, they don't work, all they want to do is take your money and make you think something is working. In fact, I did a search right now on Google for PC, uh, performance enhancer and look. which is the number one result on Norton because once again these companies are vultures, they know exactly what the layman is looking for and they say, hey let's do this and it doesn't work, it's a placebo at best and with more frequency than not, they slow down your system because they run in the background consuming resources, so PC performance increased in the past when we had spinning hard drives and that is the number one reason why an operating system would start running slow , well two reasons technically it's a fragmented hard drive or a messy registry, that's because of the seek time on a hard drive, especially like a 5400 RPM drive, it's so slow in comparisonWith anything we have today, all these would normally do is go in there and defragment your drive. at night maybe do a virus scan maybe if it was part of a suite and then clean your registry in Pro because I already showed you when it comes to the Revo uninstaller, when you uninstall a software it leaves a bunch of log files and entries behind it and that log starts to get huge and what happens is when you access the slow hard drive log, it has a huge log that you have to navigate through, so with SSDs that's really not a big deal. it's a problem nowadays but if you want to have a nice tidy system don't run any of these pc boosters they don't do anything like you might think that means they go in there and adjust the power settings on your system maybe turn on XM on your RAM, maybe give your system some kind of gentle overclock or make sure your Boost clocks are always at their best, no it doesn't touch any of that crap, it's all software based on your OS and really He doesn't do anything at all and that's it, I'll tell you a little story here about my dad.
My dad was one of those people who started using PCS back in the '70s and '80s. We're literally talking about the dawn of the personal. the computer has always been involved with this, unfortunately, it always had the mentality that pc boosters worked, i believed that they worked so much that you would have several running on the same system at the same time, all fighting for control at the same time, believe me when Let's say you've never felt the frustration of trying to uninstall these PC boosters before the days of something like the REO uninstaller to try to get them to stop conflicting with each other due to the fact that they leave traces behind like I always have. he said I can't tell you how many times my dad would call me and ask me to help him with the system because it's not working properly and I find like four different registry cleaners that work three different PC boosters that work like maffy and Norton all working at the same speed. at the same time, oh, and he also had uh, which one was the one that started with a?
It was like a free antivirus omg I love my dad but one time I had to tell him I won't touch your computers anymore because when he would say why is this here why is this okay he says blah blah blah blah blah blah , blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah , blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah . keep a tidy system don't keep

programs

on your system that you don't need or don't use very often use the Revo uninstaller, it's free, I've shown it several times, now you can remove the

programs

you're not using and each a single trace of they, in fact, I'll put a link in the description of this video that links you to the video where I took you on a complete tour of that software as a non-sponsored video, it's something that Phil told me about and I fell in love with it. with and I want to share it with you, the brand has no idea who we are or they could do it now because one day we killed their download server, but anyway I digress, it's free and that's the best way to keep your system running. no problems none of this crap here like advanced system repair has anyone ever used advanced system repair and it repaired anything and speaking of drives and files and such just go in and use the revo uninstaller and uninstall a drive of your system unless you are actually using one drive and linking all your Windows based PCs that are in your Windows account, just turn that shit off, okay?
And you know that every time Windows does an update, it will put it back, so you just go in and continue uninstalling. You'd be surprised how much a drive actually affects your drive speed, plus it is constantly indexing for whatever reason to look for changes to your drive and yes you can tune it, but why else are you using it? just uninstall it completely. I don't have anything to show for this one, but if you have a pre-built system specifically an MSI system, I mean they can all be bloated, almost any pre-installed software that comes with a pre-built that you can just throw away now, the best pre-builts out there like Falcon Northwest.
We'll just stop at Falcon Northwest. Actually, IB's power is pretty good too. We made a video about them recently. When you load your software, they may have a control panel that is used to control some fans or some lighting or something that is in the system, but almost all of the prebuilt ones come with a ridiculous amount of wear and tear, why? of getting kickbacks or even discounts for their versions of Windows or whatever they have 65 different pieces of software pre-installed in there and we're talking about Norton Norton is the one that gets its claws into these pre-built ones. companies and say, hey, we'll give you free Windows if you install ours that already has Norton installed, so you spend the first few days of your new computer trying to uninstall all the Weare and MSI blobs for whatever reason. to this day it still has like 64 different control panels, let me ask you a question: how many control panels do you need for some reason?
MSI can't seem to put them together when it comes down to it, but that's one example, just most of the panels above. The software installed on an SI is completely unnecessary and you'd be surprised how much royalty and similar waste there is for these brands to use the software on their systems, it's just downright dirty really, but another honorable mention here. Before I leave here, I know I've talked to Ted about software on this and every time I talk about software the same discussion comes up every time and it's like, well I'm going to hack, do you know how many things are included? with the free program that you have that you may not know is there, literally, do you know why old school viruses to this day are still called trojans?
It's because that virus makes its way with the software that you're installing right behind it and almost all of the s The Pirate Bay um, you know you have all of Torrance and free torrent and stuff, you have these pieces of software that are cracked so that you don't you need to use keys and You don't have to activate them or anything, but you are asking for problems with the amount of things that will be included without your knowledge in any game that you know more about. I think the most common pirated software out there is probably Adobe, to be honest, besides Windows, probably Adobe because Adobe is expensive and it's ridiculously expensive and the subscription fees and all the cloud-based stuff now people just pirate it. , but you're asking for trouble if you don't trust the source, so I.
I'm just posting this as someone who doesn't personally pirate software. If you are going to pirate the software, you know where it comes from and I didn't mention it, I didn't give any alternative to the virus. scanners because I personally think Windows Defender is good enough for 99% of people, you need to have a way to at least verify that what you're getting is clean because most of the time it's like going somewhere back. alley in Las Vegas doing some things you shouldn't do and going I'm probably fine without protection that's the thought you want to leave this video this dirty it may well be the best way to not have to worry about wrapping your Jimmy is to know where he you're putting it's clean
