Make Your Own VH11 High-Hat

Jun 06, 2021
What's up guys? We're all here with 65 drums and today I'm going to show you how to

make

your

own BH 11 clone for a lot less money. Well I have a vehicle Evan right here it actually came with my T. 30k roll when I bought it and just so you know this is already pre-assembled on the inside and you might take it out but it came like this so you won't use

your

own hardware if you decide to use VH 11. I just want you to know that, so you have this top part that can detect Bo and Edge and then you have this bottom control piece that when you close it, this little lever goes down and that's what you tells the module how open and closed their hi-hats, they will have a cable plugged in here and then also a cable plugged in right here overall just a great solid hi-hat that does its job, they could improve it over the years, hope they come out with Hopefully a new module, but it's a solid

high

hat for electronic drums, but that costs four hundred dollars new.

So if you have less money, there is a way to do all that for $50. It may not be that good, but you can do it. The way to do this is you're going to need to go and grab one of these. This is a hi-hat controller made by go a drum. In fact, I got it for free from them. This came with their go drum je6 drums that they sent. I'd like to check it out and it's interesting because you can find it on eBay for $50. I just looked at it and it has a very similar mechanism: this top lever is pressed when you close the hi-hat and all you need now is another symbol and it's really that simple, all you need to do is look for an additional electronic symbol that you have or just buy one and then what you'll have to do is get some type of hi-hat.

More Interesting Facts About,

Hardware like this. I use it to mount my Sabian. b8 pros so what you will need is to find hardware like this, it should be pretty thin, it was actually too thick. I had to use the knob hi-hat hardware I had, so what I did was go. and I got my roll on the CY 12 C symbol and I put this hardware, not this particular hardware, but I put some hi-hat hardware inside the symbol, it didn't quite fit. I really had to force it, you're going to need some felt and You're also going to need another piece of felt right there and you're also going to need a quarter inch cable that's an elbow, a l bel stereo cable because when it's very long like that it interferes with the balance of everything, so you'll go like this and it works, it's really interesting how you can do all this for so much less money now.

I'll play some examples right now. I'll use the BH 11 first and then switch to using this one. ohms driver and the CY 12 C symbol on the top, okay, so you can see it works pretty well now. It is perfect? No, no, it's not. You can't expect it to be as good as bh 11 because this one is. 400 dollars and then that controller is 50 dollars, first of all the Goiser ohm controller here is mainly plastic, yes this is very very very light and who knows one day it might break but if this is a temporary solution that It can be done quickly and cheaply. that might work for you this is better built and there's metal down here.

I like how the bottom is made of metal and it may not seem that important from the beginning, but that gives it a less serious feel and

s it undesirable. not only that, but the vh 11 hardware here has a larger circle of contact with the stand than a drum, for some strange reason, this is very big and thick here and then they narrow it here so you can see that there is less contact with the support and that gives it the opportunity to wobble a little. The fact is you're never going to get that $400.00 experience for 50 bucks and another hi-hat out there, but yeah.
You're going to get something that's a lot better than what you're using right now if you're using one of those hi-hats that's mounted on your drum frame right now and it's just mounted there and you're not by using an acoustic hi-hat stand you're missing out. a better battery experience and you decide what you want for some people you would rather be h-11. I'm actually one of those people because you know I want the best experience possible, but if you're on a budget this might work for you. I think V drum tips Chris and another person who watches my videos told me that this will work with Roland sound modules and they are right, it actually does.
I was using the standard settings for the VH 11. I didn't change the settings at all for this, so in theory if I spent some time with it I could get this to control a little better, maybe if I played with the settings. Thanks for watching.
