More Interesting Facts About,

look what i do with dollar tree rope and 1 yard of fabric beautiful rustic diy...

I just know there are some that don't sew, so I like to bring that no sew option. I'm excited for the next two DIYs I bring you. using

fabric

and felt because I think you're going to love them and the result is amazing, so let me put down my gabin, let's jump into it and let me show you what I have in mind for today's DIY. Well, to start, I'll use this. precut fabric that you can get at Walmart, I created this and it cost about five

dollar

s. I love this print, it's so

rustic

and cute I almost can't stand it.

I started by cutting two pieces of this fabric and used the entire

yard

length of fabric, which was 42 inches, and cut one piece that measured 13 inches wide by 42 inches long and a second piece that measured 13 inches wide by 10 inches long and this is because this piece goes To measure a total length of 52 inches, I will start by pressing my fabric because it is much easier to work with, especially when you are doing a seamless project like this to get some nice lines and Clean when working with fabric is very easy to do by simply turning the fabric to the back and folding that edge over about half an inch and pressing it, you will get a nice clean edge.

I have made it with both pieces of fabric. just on the top edges, I haven't done the sides yet, I just went ahead and folded it over about half an inch and this is how I'm going to join the two pieces together, just putting them together this way, you won't see the seam or what would normally be the hem because it will be covered later. I'm going to hot glue it together if you want to use something else like heat and bonding, you can't sew the hem and that's something you just put on. between the two pieces of fabric and press it because I got the hot glue out, it will work just as well so that's what I'm going to use today.
This is the iron on heat bonding adhesive, it is very easy to work with. You can find this at Walmart and it's about 1.98 but I'm telling you why use it if you have hot glue so you can see my two pieces are attached and I promise this line won't be visible. When we're done with this DIY, I need a 12 inch dowel, so since I was at Walmart and they have this three pack of giant dowels from Go Create for a buck ninety eight, I grabbed it and I'm going to stain this wood. peg and to do that I'm going to use my favorite method which is to use liquid shoe polish in brown and black.
When you apply the frosting you will apply it the same way you would apply stain or paint today I am not using a brush I am using the sponge applicator that comes in the bottle because it is easy and can be done when applying this brown you can see which has a red-orange undertone, not my favorite color, so to mute it once I've applied the brown, I'll go back to black and go over it. I'll go over it again with the brown, maybe I'll go over it. I use it again with black and I will achieve a

beautiful

walnut brown that I love.
I have been asked if the bitumen erases, if it has a smell, if I need to seal it. I've never had an experience where it rubs off once it dries, it's pretty dry and odorless. I don't seal it unless it's a piece that's going to be outside, so it's really as simple as applying it and when it's dry, you're done. which is a little less expensive than using dye occasionally because I can find shoe polish at the Dollar Tree, but most of the time I find it at the 99 store. Could you

look

there? Look how pretty that walnut brown is and I made it using liquid shoe polish.
Awesome now that we get back to the fabric, we're going to want to fold the sides now to give it those nice clean edges, but to do that I wanted to use my dowel to measure exactly how much I needed. To fold my edges now I will say that I made the fabric a little wider than necessary because I am going to finish off the back of this piece with some felt. The felt measures approximately eight and a half by 11 or eight and a half. half by 12 and then I needed a little more fabric on the sides to fold because my felt is not going to be wide enough if that makes any sense and since I wanted this to have a nice finish, I needed to cut my fabric a little more and so on each side you can see that I have folded it about an inch to an inch and a quarter and I'm going to do it the entire length of this piece, which is 52 inches and Again I'm going to use my hot glue gun to adhere those sides down.
The nice thing about using hot glue with the no-sew project like this is that sometimes the hot glue will leave that bead line on the inside of the fabric, but you can do it. always go over it with the iron to smooth it out, re-melt the hot glue if it dried out and you didn't press the fabric well enough. I love the way it works again. I didn't have any heat. I glued the hem by hand and my hot glue gun was plugged in so it will work, it will get the job done and it's cheaper because who doesn't have a bunch of glue sticks on hand when you're a craftsman and the result will be the same so it's a win-win now I'm going to take my peg and place it on top of my fabric.
I'm going to go ahead and fold my piece of fabric over the dowel and I'm going to hot glue it on. fabric down there in place, which gives me the ability to move my peg in and out because right now I don't want that peg, I'm just using it to gauge how far I need to hot glue the fabric onto it if that makes Anyway, I hope I'm not making this complicated because this DIY is very easy and the result is amazing, so you can see that I kept gluing the bottom edge with felt and you can see here.
I'm going to take my iron and just go over it again to spread that hot glue on the back of this. I'll use four pieces of white felt again. You can get these at Walmart for about 20 to 25 cents each. piece, you can get four or five of them for a dollar at Joann's when they have good sales and they have sales frequently, so I'm going to go ahead and use my hot glue again to adhere this to the back, giving it a nice finished look. Now you can see here why I cut my fabric a little longer than necessary because my felt wasn't going to completely cover the back and because I wanted it to have that finished look if you just cut it a little bit. a little more and fold it a little more, the felt will cover the center and the edges will look finished, you're probably saying okay, this is great, but what are we going to do with this Kelly?
I'm going to put the word Mary under the in the center again using some felt, I guess it's a textured felt that reminds me of corduroy. This is from go create. I found these at Walmart, they were about 30 cents a piece and I bought five of them and cut them up. all five in squares of seven and a half by seven and a half inches. Now I grab my Waverly insoles again. These are templates that you can get at Walmart. I love them. It shows that I have used them before. They are a great alternative to Cricut.
If you have a cricut, you're going to cut out your own template and then using some of this Scotch spray adhesive, you can get a spray adhesive at Dollar Tree. It doesn't have to be good because we're just going to do it lightly. spray the back to keep our stencil from moving just to keep it in place and not bleed too much when we paint this. I'm going to paint this using flat white apple barrel paint. I had this on hand. Waverly It's been a little difficult getting a stencil brush used for this. I feel like a stencil brush is a little better way to apply it than using a sponge to rub because this is fabric and this felt has grooves in it, so I'm We're going to go ahead and lightly apply not one, not two, but three coats of paint from apple barrels because it is a thinner, lighter paint.
It will take a couple more coats if we used Waverly, it would probably be one coat, but come on. to make do with what we have, the apple barrel is economical, works and gets the job done. I've got my three coats of paint, they're nice and dry, so I'm going to lift up my stencil slightly and that's it. to easily remove now there are some gaps in the letter that I'm not a fan of, so I'm going to take my paint and I'm just going to fill them in to make it a solid letter. I need to put a pair. of layers in those areas, but while those layers dry, I have some white that bleeds, I'm not too concerned because I took the safe route of using a black felt, that way if my white letter bleed, I could follow up with a little of black acrylic paint and just paint over that white and clean up those edges of my letters.
It's a quick and easy fix and no one will notice that your card bled. No one will even know you made this because this DIY will look so cute. when you're done, they're going to love it, they're going to ask you where you got this from, and through the magic of video and editing, I finished spelling my five letters with the word Mary, I'm just going to space them evenly. In the center of my fabric banner is what I will call it. I love how this looks, but I can already tell that I'm going to need to add a little more to this, but we'll get to that in a moment.
A little bit now when placing these letters I decided to go the route of using a spray adhesive instead of using hot glue because I was a little worried that the letters would move and come out of place and I wouldn't be able to do it. reposition them and so using a spray adhesive, I really like this whiskey, you can get it at Joann's Walmart, it's not very expensive if you don't like the spray adhesive from Dollar Trees, then I definitely go this route this way, you can reposition it for up to 10 minutes and that was going to work for me once I put it in place I placed another piece of felt over it just so I could push it down and into place when placing them I decided to space them two inches apart.
You can see I have my fabric measuring tape there just to get them nice and evenly spaced, as much as I like the look of this project as it comes together. These letters are missing something and I know what's missing. Lack of swelling. paint or fabric paint, so I'm going to grab this 3D fabric paint. I bought it at the dollar

tree

and I'm going to put stitch lines along the edges of the black felt. I feel like this is going to frame the lyrics. to give it a more finished look and it will also give it that stitch quilted Christmas look that I love and I wanted to show you that you can totally see the difference just adding these stitch marks made on the inside edge of this.
I felt like it's those little finishing touches that make the difference in a project like this. I also decided to use the puffy black paint and add some black stitching along the camper fabric. You can also see me there at the top of the screen. It wasn't quite in the frame there, sorry, but I went ahead and added it along all the outside edges of the fabric and then I went in and added some stitching between each of the letters as well, just again for framing. those letters even more and make it look more like a finished piece at first.
I will tell you that I didn't finish the bottom because I wasn't sure how long I was going to need completely because I wasn't sure if I wanted two inches or three inches between each of the letters, so now I know I wanted my two inches between. each letter, so I'm going to go ahead and cut off a little bit of the excess fabric, leaving me three inches that way. I have two inches under the y and one inch that I can go ahead and fold back to finish my edge. I guess the only thing left to do is finish this piece, so I'll go ahead and replace.
I had removed my peg because I wanted to make sure I was evenly spacing my letters. Now I grab some of the decorative nautical

rope

from Dollar Tree. I love these things. I'm going to use this

rope

as a hanger for our cheerful banner. How easy it is. That by simply applying a little hot glue to the rope and wrapping it around each end of thepeg hanging out of the fabric, we just made a very inexpensive but

rustic

looking hanger. I love, love, love this piece, it's so easy. It's economic. I will say that it cost me less than ten dollars to make and the result is amazing.
The good thing about this piece is that this is a very versatile piece, you don't have to make it just for Christmas, it can be made using the seasons of the year, it can be made using your last name, there are so many possibilities for this DIY, it's endless, so I say that you get it. Creative, make it yours and have fun doing it because that's what DIY is all about. How cool is that piece of decor from Mary. I love it. I feel like the fabric does it. You can really be creative. You can really customize it using whatever.
The fabric is the one that adapts to your decoration or your style. It is such a fun and inexpensive piece that requires no sewing, is easy to make and the result is incredible. I love it. I want to make more of them because I love them so much I can't wait. I show you the next DIY that I bring you using fabric, it is similar and follows the same line, but this is a great gift and I think it is a fun way to give an image, so you will have to keep an eye out for that DIY. until then please make sure to give this video a big thumbs up and let's do it.
You guessed it, 5,000 likes because, as I always say, each and every one of your thumbs up and those comments you leave below really do. It helps my channel grow and helps YouTube notice me a little more until next time. I hope you have a fantastic day.
