You're going to need to collect four of these white glass jar

candles

and one red one if you want to fill both jars now to melt them. I'll show you a

quick

and easy way to melt them by simply gluing them together. I put them in the oven on a baking sheet at 300 degrees and left them for about 15 or 20 minutes and they were completely melted. Now, when we put them in the oven, these jars were completely full and many of you. I have been asked in the past why when it was melted there was only half a candle because the wax in these jars is whipped wax and they make it to look fuller than it is so the only real downside to whipped wax is that the

candles

burn much faster because it is not a completely solid wax, but because we have melted this wax it is no longer whipped so we are going to have a longer burn time with these and I am displaying more candles in my oven. than I told you because I'm making four candles in total and once the wax is completely melted, if you take some tweezers and just pull out the wick because we're going to need to be able to reuse this wick and we don't need to buy one, all that we need for this you can get it at Dollar Tree, like I said, so it's easier.

I decided to take some red wax and add it to the white thinking that it would dilute the red just a little. Make it pink and that's what I was hoping to do now with these highlights. You can put them in your jars in one of two ways. The first is to use double-sided tape. This is a foam tape. You can get it. Dollar Tree by craft or square and you just place it on the bottom of your wicks and you can stick it to the bottom of your jar and it will stay put so once you have your wick on your jar you can go ahead and just pour the wax in there until the highest or lowest level you want to fill your jar.
I'm going to fill mine up to about an inch from the top I would say and as I'm looking at this, I'm thinking, wow, this wax is still very red and I don't think it's going to be very pink, but we'll see, so I'm just going to take a wooden dowel, you can use a pen or pencil, even a straw to wrap your wick around just to keep it centered in the wax for the next candle. You can adhere the wick to the glass jar with a little hot glue by simply placing a little hot glue on the bottom and placing it in the jar to hold the wick.
Right where you want it and even though you are pouring hot wax into the jar it is not hot enough to melt the hot glue so the wick stands up and for this candle I decided to just wrap the wick around the peg first. I pour in the wax and with this candle I decided to use the white wax first and I thought, "Okay, I'm going to add the white wax and let's see if I add a touch of red at the end if that works." It's pink because the red candle is very pigmented once I filled the jar pretty much where I wanted it to be filled;
Using the white wax, I went ahead and added just a little bit of red and a few measuring senses, I don't know, maybe two or three tablespoons of red wax is what I put in this, you can see, it's actually not much, this It was so much fun, find these jars of balls, this is the edition honey, how fun it is, this is a collection of memories, that ball put. For Valentine's Day it has this heart that I love and of all the places I found this at Smart and finally this 4 pack I want to say it was about five dollars and so on with the remaining wax that I have because you saw that.
I had extra jars there. I'm going to fill them to make for Allie and Kayla, so with this I'm just going to mix the two together. I don't really care if I wear red or pink, it doesn't matter. For me, I'm just going to use the remaining wax I had left, which I think was four jars total. Now if you want to add a scent to your candles, you'll want to wait about 15 minutes so the wax doesn't burn. hot, then you can go ahead and add however much oil you want. I'm using my simply earthy oil.
Cinnamon is my absolute favorite scent and since it's red, it made me feel like I was red hot candy. Dollar Tree has this. scented wax and a few different scents that you can use and I want to say in my last videos on how to make candles I used the Dollar Tree scent it may not be for some if you want to use an essential oil you can if you want. To use the Dollar Tree oil, you can also do it now, all that's really left to do is let these candles harden and solidify. You can leave them at room temperature, it will take a little longer or you can put them in the refrigerator if the candles turn out like this, don't worry, they are called sink holes and this happens a lot of times with homemade candles and there is an easy remedy for this, you can very easily take a heating tool or a hair dryer, this heating tool that I am using a heating tool that I bought at Joanne's.
It was originally $19.99 I think so and I spent nine or ten dollars on it you just go ahead and reheat and melt the top layer of wax and you can see that as you start to melt the wax it will start to fill the hole of the sink. You don't want to put the candle back in the oven because you don't want the whole candle to melt again because then you'll end up with the same problem of having another hole for the sink, so if you just take and melt that first layer, maybe half inch of wax until it fills the sink hole and one thing I have learned in my experience with candles is that you don't want to melt it enough to fill the post itself, you want to melt it enough to have a full layer of melted wax on top to get that perfect smooth finish, you can watch as I do it with the wax.
It will melt completely and if you just go around in a circle so that the edges of the candle melt too and get the first top layer nice and melted, you will end up with a perfect candle once your candle has really defined what it should. Just take about 15 or 20 minutes, it's ready. When I cut the wick, I like to leave about an inch of the wax so you don't cut it too short because if you cut the wick too short it won't cut. Melting the wax around it will only melt the center of the wax so I like to leave about an inch of wick and then using some dollar

tree

twine I thought I would wrap it around the top of the jar. glass where the lid would go because I am not going to replace the lid.
I'm going to give it that rustic, homemade touch by adding twine to the ring and just wrapping it nice and thick. I thought I'd add some of these too. Would it be the DIY stickers that Dollar Tree has right now and have had for the past few holidays? I love them. I'm going to attach this heart with just a little bit of thread, glue the thread to the sail ring here and thought I'd finish it off with one of my homemade boats. I love the look and feel of a homemade candle. For me, there is nothing better.
Sure you can buy candles at the store, but there's something about a homemade candle that I loved. that warm feeling and I don't know what it is, but I love it. I love doing them. They are very easy and economical. I feel like it's a lot cheaper to do it using these jar candles that you can get. the Dollar Tree you buy a big block of wax at Michael's or Joanne's, at whatever craft store you want to buy, then you have to buy the dye, then you have to buy the sin when you can buy these candles. you can melt them, they're already colored, all you have to do is buy a scent and like I showed you before, Dollar Tree has their luminescence scented oil in several different scents, if you would like to use them, I think it's a budget. -The friendly way I have used them in the past when the candles burn, the scent is really nice and would you look at how stinky and

adorable

they are?
They were so much fun to make and I want to say they cost me less than five dollars. I loved the look of these. I had a last minute idea. I was looking at these and felt like they were missing something so I went to Walmart. I bought some of these cupcake sprinkles for Valentine's Day. I love this mix, it has gold, pink and red color. hearts on it is from Wilton and I think I spent 188 on this bottle. I'm going to move on. I'm going to melt the top of these candles a little bit. I'm not going to do the half inch.
I'm just going to do it enough to wet the wax a little bit, then I'm going to take and sprinkle these sprinkles in there and make it so that when the wax really solidifies it hardens and these sprinkles don't fall off. from the jar, once you have poured the sprinkles into the jar, go ahead and take your heating tool or your hair dryer over it, shake the jar a little to get the sprinkles to spread out and get wet. wax and they are not going to come out when you burn them, you can burn them with these sprinkles in there, you don't need to worry about that as the wax starts to melt, the sprinkles get a little heavy and they will actually start to sink. from the bottom to the hardened part of the wax, so it's not like they're actually in contact with the flames, it just melts, the candy itself melts as well, so it's not a fire hazard why I had to worry. and all the times I've been making candles and this is a way that I like to finish my candles, I think it's a fun way, it just adds an element that just spruces it up and makes it a little bit more fun.
I'm done and you can see here, this looks

adorable

when I shake it, they don't come out and I think they are so cute and stinky, what a fun way to finish them. Did I already say that? I'm sure I did. but I'll say it again now, this was a really fun DIY. I love spending the day making candles. These candles turned out adorable. I love how they look. I love the result. And I must tell you, I can't wait. To burn them, I'd really like to burn them, I just didn't make one for myself, so I might have to go to Dollar Tree because I like them so much, and I grab a jar or two and make myself a couple because I love them.
There are so many DIY crafts that I love to do because I'm one of those people that when I craft or make wine I don't like to do just one thing, like Dollar Tree crafts. I love paper crafts. crochet I love sewing I love crafting with fabric and I love making candles I love making simple candles This may not be from scratch for those of you who make it from scratch, but for me this is a very easy way to make and personalize a candle and make it in a way that is economical so that you don't have to invest a lot of money in all the supplies that are needed to make the candle, make the molds, the wicks, the pennies, you can buy this type of thing and, if I want to give it as a gift tosomeone.
It's a homemade gift that someone will love and appreciate. I hope you all enjoyed today's DIY Valentine's Day candles using all the items from Dollar Tree.
