More Interesting Facts About,

look what i do with this dollar tree pizza tray quick easy farmhouse wall decor diy...

I love the way

this

pizza pan DIY turned out and I can't wait to show you how

easy

it was to make, so I'm going to put down my gabin, let's jump into it and make a pizza pan on a budget. This is a

wall

decor

ation piece. Said? That's if I didn't, so to start, we'll just grab a simple pizza pan. If you haven't seen these DIYs, you should

look

on Pinterest because you'll love them and then use some wave-releasing chalk paint. in the color of yeah, white, pretty simple, uh, we're gonna give this pizza pan a good coat of this chalk paint and I'm just gonna do one coat for now, I'm gonna let it dry because I'm gonna wait when I put the second coat on, I'm gonna to put on a nice thick coat of this paint because again, wait for it, we're going to apply some Waverly Antique Wax and we're going to give it this kind of washed wood finish and it's It's

easy

to do this when the paint is wet, you're going to get a smoother, more diffused

look

and it will save you time because you won't have to sand it to get that look, simply using a dry brush stroke with the wax, you will get a very nice, smooth look on this pizza pan.

Yeah, that's

what

we're going to do once everything is nice and dry. I'm just going to use a regular ruler and a very thin ruler. brush and again using the old wax. I'm going to make a line right in the middle. I'm looking at this. I'm not going to measure it. If you want to measure it, can you? I feel like the more imperfect it is, the more perfect. it's going to be now again you don't have to use the old wax if it's hard to get it you can just use a regular brown acrylic paint for this but since this is what I have on hand why not I'm going to lie to you, I bought a few bottles of this online because I'm not sure if Walmart will still carry it and it's really one of my favorite things to craft with so once I have my first line, I'm going to go ahead and clean my ruler before I lay it down to lay out my second line because there will be a little paint on your ruler and when you put it on your pizza

tray

you don't want to add some lines that you don't need and you want to start with a clean slate.

I'm going to go ahead and add more lines and they'll be about two inches apart across the entire width of the pizza pan and look at this black and white here. Czech fabric is making an appearance again. I tell you I have an endless stash of this fabric because I bought five yards taking some of this shiny mod podge. Did I tell you everything? I'm not a brilliant person. I'm a matte person, I don't know why I bought this but this is the perfect DIY to get rid of this shiny mod podge. I'm going to put a nice healthy layer of this on the bottom third of this pizza pan because I'm going to put the fabric right on top once I have the fabric on top, I'm going to apply a second layer of mod podge to really adhere it and harden the fabric once the fabric and mod podge are nice and dry.
I'm not going to lie, it's going to take a couple of hours, so we'll just have to put the patient's pants on and wait for it to dry, then I'll go ahead and cut off the excess fabric, but when I cut it. Get out, I'm not going to go along the pizza pan. I'm going to leave about an inch of fabric because I want the edges to look nice, so to do that when you leave about an inch of fabric and cut. indentations like I'm doing here now this works for round objects this is how you get a nice clean edge on round objects like this round objects is the pizza pan an object I'll call it an object this again is kelly Barlow's Vocabulary, once Once we've cut those slots in there, we can turn the pizza pan over and put some hot glue on it.
Look at that, when I fold the little tabs that I cut, it's going to give us a nice clean edge. which is a great trick, it works with anything, it works with paper, it works with anything, it's an easy way to get a nice clean edge so you don't have those waves or those creases that you like, that tip from Kelly Barlow from day I was there I didn't really like the hard line between the fabric and the pizza pan. I felt like it looked sloppy and unfinished, so using some of this I mean burlap ribbon with thread, this is a set I bought at Michaels, but Dollar Tree has some. which is very similar and that you can also use.
I thought this would be the perfect finishing touch to transition the fabric to the pizza pan and give it more of that rustic feel and well, it's another way for me to incorporate my favorite yarn. I feel like this DIY is finishing touches like that that take a DIY from looking like something handmade to something high end to something that looks like you bought it at, say, hobby lobby michaels or joanne's when I do DIYs like this, no I do. I usually do a test, I create it with you while I do it because I don't want to do two, so while I was doing this again I felt like I didn't like the edge of the pizza pan.
I felt like it looked like a pizza

tray

and so what better way to fill that space right there than by using some

decor

ative nautical rope from Dollar Tree? Look perfectly at how he finishes that edge and now he's taken it. from looking like a pizza tray again to something else, yeah, what else? A piece of dollar tree

wall

decor. Yes, and to this tray I will add these wooden words that you can get at the dollar tree. They have several different ones. Home, family. Hello. Smile. Choose one. you like it I liked it hello because it's going to go on my front door I'm going to take it again yeah look at that some old waverly wax and I'm going to paint it with this now am I really painting it or am I staining it? choose, I'm going to say stain because that's what I like about antique wax, is that when you apply it to the wood you still get that wood grain look coming through it and that I really love that you don't get when you use a solid acrylic paint now, if you can't get the Waverly antique wax, use a regular stain or just use an acrylic paint if you want to get that brown look, and since I reordered, like I told you, several bottles of the antique I'm going to use wax because it goes with everything in my house, so why not give it a good coat?
You don't have to clean the wax. Some people say to me, Kelly, do you clean the wax? I just let it dry and it gives it more of that rustic look because I like rustic, did you know guess what options I bring you if your dollar tree doesn't have these cute wooden words and I've made them available? in her etsy store for digital download you have a couple different options for words and if you don't want to do a digital download and you want her to cut them out and send them to you with free shipping, they are also available, you can find the link to her etsy store linda in the description box below since my dollar tree had the wooden words on it that's what I used and using some hot glue I'm just going to put a bunch of this on the back of this and it's going to go right here where the black and white checkered fabric is what I thought that black and white checkered fabric would add a lot of character, give it more of that

farmhouse

feel and really make the word pop a little bit more.
The top of this tray is missing something. Think, so I made some of my yarn flowers. I made them in three different sizes. You can see I made three bundles of yarn that I just wrapped around my finger and tied them together and I just took some hot glue and hot glued them together. one on top of the other by simply offsetting them a little, you will end up with some yarn flowers that look like these flowers. They are very easy here and you can make many with one of the spools of dollar tree thread. Flowers of endless thread, I say and you are. paying a dollar for them, so why not make your own flowers?
You can also color them with a little ink if you want, if you want different colors, blue, pink, yellow, be creative, make some flowers with yarn, why not? And to give these flowers a more finished look. I'm going to finish them in the center with a wooden button. These are buttons that you can find at Michael's now on the top of this tray. This is where I wanted these flowers and I wanted to do a variation of sizes just to break them up. a little bit so I made one larger flower and two smaller ones now because this is a DIY wall decor we need a hanger to hang it and to do that I'm going to use some decorative nautical rope from Dollar Tree now for this. piece I want the rope to show through so I cut a piece about 12 inches and I want the hanger to show through.
If you don't want the hanger to show, simply cut a small piece and hot glue it to the back. I want it to be seen. so I cut a good size because I thought it would add to the piece itself and just using a little bit of hot glue I'm going to hit the back of this rope with a ton of hot glue to really adhere it, maybe on a stick or two , whatever. It is necessary that if Kayla is doing a voiceover about this, she will tell you that you will need a whole package of hot glue, but I have to say that maybe a stick will do.
Now, let's take a look at this in my craft room. Hanging on that really cool wooden wall, it looks amazing this week. Kayla is trying to pour paint for the first time using that fluid art. Ready to pour acrylic paint. This should be interesting because Kayla is doing it. Go to her channel. You can find the link to this video, guess where in the description box below and that is my version that gives a rustic

farmhouse

feel to these pizza pans, they are so versatile, they are very economical and would you look at the result? I love them, I think they are so inexpensive and really make a great housewarming gift.
