The first parts of my life were fast. I was born in Fort Bragg. I grew up as a child in the Mississippi Delta. My uncle Kenny got me into hunting along with my grandfather. It was like a family tradition it was never about competition at the time, it was really just about, you know, bowhunting or hunting in general. I knew it was good in our tree, but I didn't know it was bad in our tree and then this moment happens where I went to this

I went and bought more arrows. I came back to the tournament just so I could say. I just want to finish this saying, "leave me." just reach the last objective. I was at the archery range, where all the top guys had been there representing that I was out there being a weird stalker and I had to get better because I didn't want to suck at it. and then for some reason, to this day I don't know if it was because they wanted me to get away from people and ask them so many questions or if the store manager was legitimately in trouble, but I remember him saying, "Hey, kid, come here, he takes me to this back room, he says, "I have to get these arrows for this client, he says, I'll show you how to do it, so I started doing that and then fast forward, several weeks later, I'm still in this room just Fletch and Arrows for this guy and I remember asking the question for like a minute, will I ever get paid for this and he looked right at me and said you can't put a value on what you're learning.

At this point and while that was happening, I was progressively getting really good at archery and I remember something clicked when I went to this tournament and I took this big leap and I realized that this is something that I'm like I'm going to do. local tournaments, then regional tournaments and then I qualified for my first worlds. From there, you know, Rookie of the Year, but once I made the US archery team, I knew that if I did my job, the national anthem would be playing when the flags were raised on the three first podiums. There is no more rewarding feeling, at least for me as a competitor, every time that arrow hits the center.

I mean, it's the culmination of perfection each and every time, but the To this day, the reason I left the US archery team was because the World Cup changed to where they started doing the World Cup finals during elf season and I remember telling them I'm NOT going to shoot in a tournament instead of a part like that. of me that just wanted to win shots now that part of me wants to punch a tag in the mouth bow hunting, when you look at it on paper you would say oh you find an animal you shoot it with an arrow, pretty simple it's one of the most complicated thing I've done in my life there are so many different things that you have to have first of all you have to have physical fitness this is something that John works very hard on you have to have cardio you have to be able to climb mountains you have to be able to make your heart rate drops after you've climbed an elevation and you've sweated a lot and you've worked hard you have to have strength in your shoulders you have to have strength in your back during the moment of truth, you have to be able to focus on the task at hand and execute it.

s meet that guy and you see the respect and reverence they have, you understand what a true master he is. In what he does, you will notice that there are no steps present that do not need to be present at all, the process seems like someone has done it very, very much, this whole journey for me is about perfecting this process to where. now if I focus on the process then everything else takes care of itself with archery that's what I want I want to do it with myself you want to be successful you know for me I want to relive that memory by putting it on the grill you know and then give it to a group of my friends and me in life.
Here it is for me that is a new reward, so hunting is a challenge and the rewards in the field are a four, there came a point where I just didn't want to. Being identified simply as a shooter because to me archery is more capable of giving product reviews. I want to be able to have a platform to write articles, so we decided to create this brand and turn it into a source of information in a moment. I was telling this to my wife and me. It's like you know we have this community and I remember she was like yeah we're like a blow to the nation and that's how it started then I started to realize that yeah this isn't about me it's about this, it's about our community and how can I just be the leader of that community and just give back every bit of knowledge that I struggled to find on my own by being that kid walking by that archery club that Monday after sucking in what I can?
What I tell you is that the response I constantly and consistently receive is that he is one of the most impactful and influential people in that space, not because of what he has done in the past but because of how well he can teach people to do those things and replicate them in the future he grabs your bow, which has a different draw length, picks it up, draws it back and you can tell yourself exactly why you missed two inches of love on a 4 yard target even though you hold it like that , this is what will help you both was built later that's the kind of thing that's impressive when you see how many people are shooting with tension based releases now how many people are hunting with silverback releases how many people are completely focused on executing surprise shots with perfect form and how many of them attribute John Dudley's training and his online videos as inspiring and educational.
I mean, I think he's probably one of the most impactful people in bowhunting history. I traveled with the bow case on every trip in my life until I was 37 years old, I had a boat, I guess at least one and I think I would wonder why you did all that, what the real purpose was, because in the end what I have gotten to to discover is every life, every metal that I want. every trophy has one that just tarnishes, but when I was with Andy when he shot that Bowl on 9/11, I looked at Mike, you know it's 9/11, right, and it's like, damn, right, I know it's the September 11th and I mean, I could see how all this emotion hit me.
I think this means more to me than anything like this. Every thing I've done. Know. Tournaments that I have lost because I didn't do something right. Everything I've had to do. Showing every sacrifice I've made it's like all of that fades away when you experience those kinds of memories and I guess with a bow that's what I'm supposed to do, I'm supposed to shoot it and I'm supposed to teach
