iPhone 12 Pro Max Review: This is huge!Jun 06, 2021
whats up guys welcome back to the channel so today we are going to talk about pro max yeah
thiswas my reaction when i first got
thisphone out guys this phone is
hugewell i guess after using the mini for so long, this is also playing a role. how i see the pro max ok let's start from the beginning so in this video we are going to talk about the good things and a lot of great things about this phone and i will tell you a little bit about my thoughts after using this phone for a while and gun Until the end of the video where I show you a neat trick that makes this
hugephone a little easier to handle so it's no surprise that this phone is huge it comes with a massive 6.7 inch screen that's bigger than the previous generation iPhone 11 pro max which had a 6.5 inch screen we will come back to the screen later in the video so let's go ahead and take a look at the overall design and build quality so different from the mini body del pro max is made from steel retina aluminum and feels more substantial in the hand and very nice to the touch so the drawback here is the glossy finish around the frame which looks nice but is a fingerprint magnet crazy fingerprints so the good part is as it still is in theory it should be more resistant to drops and impacts so you should see how that translates to reality when you do a follow up video after using this phone for a few months so this phone is on the heavier side of the scale weighing around 226 grams about the same as the previous generation the 11 pro max so it doesn't surprise me given the huge size and quality of The materials used in the Pro Max.
To sum it up, this is a substantial device, it's big, it feels big, and it feels. premium so guys that's enough and a lot of numbers let's get ready and go out there and see how it looks see you in a bit it's calling me and coming back to the screen the pro max has a huge screen which is also bigger and brighter with 800 nits maxi Peak Brightness and 1200 nits for HDR content. This phone handles very well when used in bright sunlight. the width we have an aperture of 1.6 with a focal length equivalent to a 26 mm lens the difference with the previous year is in the aperture which is now 1.6 compared to 1.8 of the previous model so for the ultra wide we have a 2.4 aperture with a focal knife equivalent to a 13mm lens with a 120 degree field of view which means this thing is very very wide and finally for the telephoto we have an aperture 2.2 with a 65-millimeter equivalent focal length. changes to the aperture setting like last year we had the 2.4 aperture lens the only thing i noticed is that this phone handles dynamic range very well which means even in the most challenging scene rivers like to shoot straight into In sunlight the pro-max can hold up quite well and you end up with a very balanced image with very bright but still natural colors and with enough detail in the shadows and dark areas of the image. those are my impressions, of course, for people who like more technical details and in-depth testing.
I recommend checking the dxomark website because those guys are specialists in camera tests and comparisons. Now let's talk about battery life. I am sure of what I am. I'm about to say that it's pretty obvious, but I'll go ahead and say it anyway. The battery life on this phone is great, really, really, really, really good, so it's achieved by great software that's designed to take full advantage of the hardware, and of course, because this phone is bigger, the battery is physically bigger so translating this to real life during my use i can use this phone for almost two days straight between charges but there are about so this is considered ng the current lifestyles we are leaving lately don't go out too much stay indoors most of the time let's say most of the time connected to wi-fi this of course plays a big part in the battery life of this phone between charges of course very longevity varies from user to user another and their lifestyles; however, this is the phone you can trust if you are looking for a phone with a longer battery life. it's amazing it's bigger and brighter and the battery life is amazing but the same thing is what makes this phone amazing it's the same thing I call the tradeoff let me explain there are a few things you need to be aware of mind when getting a huge phone like this for example if having to hold it with two hands is a problem for you then it will annoy you and then take this phone out when you go out with your pocket or on the back k in your hands you should consider the size and weight of this phone, however, I'm willing to accept the trade-offs to enjoy the bigger, brighter screen and amazing battery, so getting this phone was a conscious decision that took time for me to do.
My recommendation is that if you're thinking of getting the Pro Max and it's not coming from a larger phone, try going to a store and if possible hand-hold it and try it on to see if it would be comfortable. with it and then make a purchase decision so that's it guys i hope you guys enjoyed and i see i'm not kidding i said at the beginning of the video i would tell you a cool trick i used to make this phone a bit more manageable, check this out yes there is a way to enable a double tap on the back of the iPhone to activate many features as I usually had to reach to the top to access the control center or have to use both hands to do so I have the cy Tosine and shortcut to turn on notification center with a double tap on the back so here's how you can do it jump into settings then scroll down to Accessibility then find the tap then click on it and then scroll down to the bottom where you see Option Back tab, click on it and you will find two options, one for double tap, one for triple tap, click on it and you will find many great options that you can You can assign as a double tap on the back of the iPhone in my case I went ahead and selected control center for double tap and notifications for triple tech but you can go ahead and play around with other options and see what works best for that you can now access control center and notifications without the hand gymnastics that you would have to do even if you used the accessibility shortcut guys that's it I hope you enjoyed and if you did give it a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe thanks for watching and see you in the next one is c all me your
