I Tried Ghost Hunting To See If It's Fake

Mar 28, 2024
This is me, standing in front of what is considered the most haunted hotel in the US, the Stanley Hotel. Every

ghost

hunting

show that comes here somehow has this traumatic, insane, life-changing experience after staying here for just one night and I'm trying. To do the same, I'm going to try to spend a night here, the hunt is on because I have a simple question, do all the

ghost

shows on paranormal YouTuber exaggerate too much or is it just Shane Dawson because I know Shane Dawson is, these shows are literally. Designed to scare you, they go in with a preconceived notion that we have to put on an entertaining show and we're only here for one night so we have to come up with something scary, so they add scary music in every scene. sound effects, they dress really well and I'm pretty sure they make things up too and after filming this video and talking to the hotel staff I have a lot of evidence that I feel like as a viewer we never really get to see what the experience is.

It's like staying in one of these haunted places. How does it feel when an ordinary person who is now trying to make a scary video stays here? Are you really guaranteed a spooky night where a guy who died a hundred years ago will throw you across the room? Is it all

fake

? Out of fear, Beck felt his presence and is trying to leave The Vibes off. We have to get out of here. The Stanley. The Stanley Hotel is probably best known for being so terrifying that apparently just a stay here inspired Stephen King. I'll write The Shining and tell you the story of how that happened later, but since The Shining came out, this hotel has been the subject of countless ghost stories and paranormal investigations, most of which exclusively describe this place as a decrepit old place. creepy hotel.

More Interesting Facts About,

That only exists at night, but this place is actually like a beautiful hotel. It felt less like a portal to hell and more like a tourist attraction. When I got there, there were people milling around taking pictures. The hotel was like loud music if I were a ghost. I would have been angry, I can't frequent this place, it's too nice, no one is going to be afraid of me, there are a lot of different ghosts haunting this hotel, as I believe in every article I read and every person I spoke to in this hotel. somehow he knew about a different ghost he hadn't heard of yet.

It's like anyone who looked at this building too much was sent here when he died. I worry that I will haunt this place when I die. There is no ghost. from a housekeeper who was in a hotel explosion and still stays to fulfill her maid duties, a cowboy ghost who supposedly kisses women while they sleep, and many more ghosts, many of which are tied to specific rooms like my room, the Haberdasher Suite because my room is haunted by a haberdasher, if you don't know what a haberdasher is, it's someone who has his scripts, which is apparently an ancient language that sells close to men, it's just a men's clothing merchant, okay, I'm about to go in.

Room for the first time supposedly one of the many haunted rooms in this hotel. I've heard that when you walk into a haunted space for the first time you can immediately notice a different energy, wow, but I walked around this entire room and looked at every corner. and crack and I have to say I didn't really feel anything there's a fly flying around I don't know if you can see I keep seeing it crash into the window he's trying to get out of here he's scared on a scale of one to ten I'd say my ghost level was around about 1.1 on the Bibleless Spanometer ghost meter you know how I feel hotels like this often because they are haunted they can get a pass if something in their room is shit because they can say well the ghost did that, I'm sorry your bed is up, the ghost did that or just like people who come looking for a haunted experience, they don't look for the nice amenities of a hotel, they don't focus on the backsplash. from the bathroom sink they are concentrating on like I'm going to start floating in the middle of the night, you know how I feel, we should be fair and do a review of this hotel room from a non-paranormal perspective when you stay there.
In the Mercero Suite you'll feel like you've been transported back to the early 1900s, and not just because there's a man trying to sell you a bowler hat on the corner. I'm talking solid wood doors, no central air conditioning, which one email said was to preserve the historic feel of the room a giant air conditioning unit next to the window that does the exact opposite. I also like the fun historical photos of the hotel, oh that's the hotel in the background, which is narrow. At first I thought this lady was holding a gun, that's why the hotel is haunted this is moments before the first ghosts entered the hotel this couple is just laughing having a good time this lady it's like you can see this with the theme of not following a theme the bathroom also felt very out of place this is actually a very nice shower some nice artwork around here this is beautiful their bathroom had a recently renovated farmhouse aesthetic, like something straight out of an episode from Fixer-Upper zero out of 10, non-historical and too nice to be seriously chased when it started to get dark, the only place I felt like I wouldn't be chased was in the bathroom.
I'd be peeing in my shirt, I'd just be standing outside the door, like, get out here. I can't chase you in there, it's very nice, come out. Here, where it's old and creepy, please, I'm trying. I want to sell you a hat. Okay, this curtain has a stain. Something was wrong in the bed too. My feet look higher than the rest of my body. Well, I'm settled now. my hotel room I'm resting I went to the hotel restaurant and had some dinner The view was beautiful and the food was good and my spookometer is still running strong on one now you're probably wondering what I mean when I say that All the shows being filmed They're way too over the top here unless you've seen one of these shows before, in which case you're not, you know 100% what I'm talking about.
Well let's take a look at Adventures, brought to you by what I like to call the Chris Angel of paranormal investigation Zach Baggins this is a genuine authentic haunt the moment I got my key and closed the door I practically said "okay listen "I'm going to have to get naked." a couple of times to take a shower, sometimes in the middle of the night I get up to get water and I can't guarantee I'm using it all oh no, oh shoot, it's something I should have done when I got here, attention, all the ghosts enter In this room you will see my penis from early childhood.
I used to hang around here. I had two heart transplants. So every anniversary of one of my heart transplants, my parents would give me a weekend here. I have had many near-death experiences. Wait, your gift for your son with serious heart problems was a trip to the scariest place in the country, friend. I don't want to pry, but your parents were 100% trying to kill you. Our investigation will take us to three of the building that comprises the Stanley complex the sound effects in this show are crazy they are designed to scare you before something scary happens I feel like I'm being shot in the chest every time they change shots in this sequence the main hotel whoa the manor house and the Heritage House oh at 3am I was woken up by an inexplicable noise and shortly after my digital recorder captured an EVP closed the door things like this are quite difficult to discuss because it's like it's impossible to know if this is staged or not , or if this is just static and looks a bit like a human voice without the text on the screen, it doesn't even sound like a voice like, for example, let me play a different one and try to tell me what you want.
I think it says and this is what it says. Did you understand it? No. I knew you didn't have what it took to join Ghost Adventures. Get out of my hotel room and then we get to Shane Dawson. I think they

tried

to decorate for Christmas, but... it's scary why are all these chairs so scary watching Shane Dawson investigate the Paranormal is like watching an injured deer try to investigate a theme park no matter what happens he'll be terrified yeah oh no oh my god wait, what? they're with us, oh my god, just opening the door to their room is almost enough to send Shane packing.
This is creepy since it is a very normal hotel room. Okay, can I say something and you'll think I'm being dramatic? My camera has been fine focusing this entire day by the time we get to this hotel, it stops focusing every second. I don't know if you know this, but cameras have a harder time focusing and in low light environments, that's a well-known thing about cameras, it's pretty funny. to try to attribute that to a ghost, he's not focusing on anything, yeah, you guys turned off all the lights, what's there to focus on?, he pans really fast and gets really close to things in the dark, Like, sorry, dude.
The darkness is usually much sharper on this camera, but I think my favorite part of this is when Shane pauses the video and edits the text to point out something he didn't notice while filming abroad. I've shown this to so many people, right? Guys, you saw something, what did you think was there? I'm so confused he literally didn't have to edit it. There may have been nothing, yes, no, it was definitely nothing. Throughout this video, Shane adds sound effects designed to terrify you. The reactions seem a little more justified, oh my god he'll hear like a little noise coming from outside and then it'll be added like the loudest horror sound effect you've ever heard.
Here's the actual sound effect and then, that's how scared I got. Okay guys, I have a confession to make. I know I talked a lot about all the ghosts that have been seen in this hotel and as I did some research in my room I started to realize that a lot of these stories could be too. Exaggerated a bit. I know it's apparently not just the Ghost Hunter shows that are doing it. Maybe the hotel also has something to gain by highlighting how haunted they are. 1911. The maids are up here lighting a gas lamp. There is a gas leak. the room explodes the maid's name was Mrs.
Wilson, we believe that Mrs. Wilson is still with us in the hotel here, we have had guests come into the bathroom, the light will turn on, her clothes are stored in the drawers of the dresser and her bags are stacked. in the closet I have a couple of questions about this story because the way it's told on this show makes it seem like the housekeeper was hanging around the hotel because she died in this explosion at the hotel she didn't die I looked there are articles about this story this happened in 1911 a housekeeper accidentally exploded like half the hotel suffered an injury she broke both ankles and then died in 1950 she lived for 40 years after this explosion honestly even if it's haunting the hotel like she died here In 1950 that's their business the hotel doesn't need to go around spreading this story about her and blowing up the hotel that seems a little petty doesn't it?
The interesting thing about the housekeeper's ghost is that it said that most of what she does hanging around the hotel is folding people's clothes and making their beds while they're not in the room, which is pretty difficult to prove that a ghost did that because that's what happens in all hotels when you leave the room because that's what housekeepers do, but what would you rather? The ghost of her. The powers would blow up your room and blow up the hotel. That wouldn't make a very fun ghost, would it? Yes, this room is actually haunted by a Minecraft vine.
I hear a whistle behind you running. I'll be honest on this point. I'm a little worried because I'm not even going to be kissed by this cowboy ghost and it's not just that I also researched the story about The Shining and you want? learn what happened what inspired this hotel's biggest claim to fame On a cold winter night in the 1970s Stephen King stayed in room 217 of the Stanley Hotel It was the end of the hotel's touring season, so it was very empty and while Stephen was sleeping he had a nightmare about his son being chased by a hose and it was so terrifying that he wrote a whole book about it, that's correct as far as everyone knows and as far as Stephen King ever said Stephen King saw zero ghosts at the Stanley Hotel zero, you can book the room that Stephen King stayed in and it's booked for every Halloween for seven years because the hotel's reservation system only goes seven years into the future and you've never seen a ghost, it's okay, but to be fair, just because Stephen King Not seeing a ghost at the Stanley Hotel doesn't mean there's nothing strange going on here, as I found out when talking to two tour guides at the hotel, this is the third and possibly the fourth buildinghaunted I've ever seen.
I worked at this is definitely the most haunted place I have worked at in the city. I think there are too many people close enough to be sane at the Stanley who have a ghost story when I started working here. I thought, "Maybe you know." I'll see a ghost, I'll hear a strange noise, you know, maybe once, twice a year. Some nights, some nights, it's a nightly occurrence and we also took a tour of the hotel's most haunted spots after hours, where we discovered a lot of juicy details about this hotel. To start with there are a ton of ghost photographs that people took at the Stanley Hotel and on this tour we were shown a lot of them and although some looked like they could have been like a camera glitch or a blurry photo in low light where you can't really tell what's going on when it's 1am. and you're in the underground cave tunnels beneath a haunted hotel with two strangers you've never met and one of them shows you a photo of a ghost girl hiding behind the carriage you're standing next to.
The scariest ghost we were told about was a ghost named Dennis. They don't actually know the ghost's name, but they call him that because he's a menace and I wish I had a video of some of the photos they showed us, but Dennis looks awfully creepy in every photo, he's just a shadowy figure with glowing eyes and In one of the photos he was posing like that in the background and they told us. a story about how one of the staff saw Dennis in the staff rooms and Dennis started chasing him and all the doors were closed so he had to run upstairs and jump out a window to get away from Dennis.
Do you have any idea how bad he was? I didn't want to wake up in my hotel room that night and see Dennis staring at me. It was at a solid five or six on my little ghost meter, but it all went down to a negative five or six when they started telling us something. story about when Zach Baggins was there filming for Ghost Adventures a big part of the Ghost Adventures episode in Stanley was the garage because that's where the hotel stores all the mattresses that people have died on, there are objects in here where some real death occurred where the bodies were just covered over these beds, so they spent a lot of time in the episode trying to contact the spirits of the people who died on these mattresses.
Can you guess what the tour guides told us? Yes, none of that is true. Yes, the hotel. They don't store mattresses that people died on like they're saving them for something except what would they be, what would they keep them for, that's so funny, we're a running hotel and believe it or not, we change mattresses every time. Every once in a while, yeah, Zach Baggins and his crew apparently just showed up and looked out the garage window, saw mattresses, and said, hey, let's do some stuff in there. The most interesting thing I got out of the tour is that even though the tour guides know all the spookiest things that have happened at the hotel, some of them don't 100% believe in ghosts.
We were walking with one of the tour guides after he showed us around. I don't know some of the craziest ghost pictures I've ever seen and Jake asked him like, when did you start believing in ghosts and he was like, oh, I don't know if I believe in that stuff, huh, so wait, wait. , what was all that about Dennis? Then you can tell me about Dennis and scare me and then not believe in him. How is it fair? Don't get me wrong, although many of the staff believe in ghosts so much that some even claim to have them. personal relationships with the ghosts they interact with most frequently last summer 2021 Paul, our former concert hall caretaker, gave me a birthday gift: it was a small French 20 euro cent coin which he left in the front seat of my car two days after my birthday.
I asked my husband, I asked my coworkers, I asked whoever, and then in a Ouija board session three weeks later, Paul affirms it and carries it with me as good luck, too good. I'm a very skeptical person by nature, so when I hear stories. This way my brain immediately jumps to thinking of all the reasons why this might not be true, so rest assured, that's all I've been doing since I got back from the hotel, but as you know, I have a hard time Calling people liars and saying these are first hand personal accounts is not true, what I do know is that while we were doing this tour there were at least one or two other tour guides following us around and trying to play pranks on us the whole time. knocking on the windows of the rooms we were in with sticks because, because I remember one day I was completely exhausted, who is it?
I guess it's kind of a fun little thing they do there, a fun little hazing designed so that I wouldn't. I know they make me poop my pants, there's nothing wrong with a little hazing except when there is one, so I'm curious how many of the paranormal experiences the staff at this place have had were just pranks that never happened. They discovered that they were jokes. With me to the Stanley Hotel I brought almost every ghost

hunting

device I could get my dirty little hands on, so let's turn off the lights in this hotel room and get to work.
I will have this EMF running all the time and the EMF measures electromagnetically. frequencies that are usually emitted by artificial sources like power lines or ghosts, is anyone here right now still at zero? Another popular tool for ghost hunting is a small twist on a flashlight like this because some ghosts may not be super powerful and may not be able to move really heavy objects, if you twist one of these flashlights to the point where it is at about to go out, it will be much easier for a ghost to communicate by flashing the light. I gave any potential ghosts a little demonstration on how to turn the flashlight. light and I was about to start trying to communicate when the unthinkable happened, so if there's anyone here, maybe let's make sure, oh okay, yeah, it was just a moth that flew in front of the camera light and Jake

tried

to smash it so the light would flash.
For a second, don't let my little smile and nervous laugh fool you. I was actually scared right here, but I guess having the only light in the room is kind of like oh you got it, I got it, holy shit, that guy had another ghost. In the room tonight, next up, the Spirit Box, a Spirit Box is basically just a small radio that quickly cycles through radio stations and ghosts can apparently use those radio stations to communicate with us. Okay, now I would like to ask again, is there anyone in this room? Other than Jake and I, okay, we have a little something, I don't know what I was saying, it sounds like oh, you can do it, very encouraging ghost, I appreciate it, thank you, uh, is there anyone there?
Maybe it's okay, that actually sounded like me. I said: is there anyone? and it sounded like he said there is someone. I'll let you listen to it a couple of times, let me know what you think, maybe maybe maybe it's full disclosure. In fact, I'm quite strange. This is a pretty strange occurrence, it sounds a lot like there is someone, so I'll give the ghost a point for that one he was pretty good, mate, if you're a ghost, don't make a noise, do it without words. It is said that I also have a thermal camera to look for cold spots that could be ghosts.
I just turned it on and there is literally a cold spot right here. In fact, it feels moist, oh, should I smell it good? It smells like it might be like a cleaner or something, I think, but it's definitely wet, hey, Danny, it's the future, Danny, here, could you stop playing? It's definitely Pete. There was a little wet spot and then a little trail and then a big wet spot, like someone started having an accident. to control it for a second and then I limped two feet and then just let it out, which leads to the scariest question of all, why did I put my face in that why was it my first instinct when faced with a wet spot on a hotel room. to get my nose and lips as close to that baby as possible.
Am at home. It's been a week since I was at this hotel and my ghost meter is at 10 out of 10. I think I was possessed by a goblin. fortunately in the rest of the room we didn't find any more urine, uh, we didn't find any ghosts either, but at the time I was more worried about the urine thing, now with full disclosure, I have never one hundred percent liked the way that paranormal investigators are looking for spirits, everyone comes in and sits on the floor and says who is there. Can anyone say your name? Who are you?
What is your name? Did you fail on one of those beds? I think it's a bit. a little condescending, so I think if we're going to find something in this room, we'll have to be a little more drastic. Hey everyone, if there's any dumb, rootsy cowboys out there who like to have a good time, why don't they come? Go ahead and turn on the flashlight, are there any ghosts around me? Okay, I guess if you don't want to go out, I'll have to keep all this gold myself, but the only thing that came from my jar of gold was a puddle. gold, so I guess my ghost hunting method was a huge waste of time and sure I got this sick picture, but unless I ever make a half country half hyper pop album and need a cover, it's pretty useless.
I tell the haberdasher, I say hello, I will thank you strangely. Lying in bed in the dark in this hotel room, this is the first time I'm alone with all the lights off in this room, first of all, let's do a bed check, buddy. This bed is very soft, much softer than I thought, so it should be a pretty cozy night if I can sleep. That being said, it's honestly very frustrating to be afraid right now. I think in an attempt to avoid sitting in complete silence, I've just started. Saying whatever was on my mind, which led me to perform what reads like some kind of ghost-themed paranoid stand-up.
Why are people only afraid of ghosts when it's dark? The fact that ghosts would only come out when it's dark, that implies that ghosts only exist to scare living people, I don't subscribe to that, why would that be okay? Yeah man, sick, whatever makes you feel less scared. Ghosts not only come out in the dark, they also come out during the day. You should be scared right now, but you should also have been scared all day. Very clever, definitely, having all the photos that they showed us on the tour like they were repeating themselves and my mind is not going to help, so I should really stop doing that before I really try to get into it, so if my brain could stop with that and then we could continue with the rest of the experience, it would be great while I was there, I could almost feel my brain wanting to play tricks on me. like hyperaware of every shadow in the room, every sound I heard, every feeling in my body and it took me a solid 30 minutes to calm down enough to try to go to sleep.
Okay, I'm just going to try to leave. Go to bed, good night, I did it, honey, it's true, I slept in a haunted room in the most haunted hotel for five hours and I slept like a rocker dude, there could have been a haberdasher twerking in my bed all night and I didn't I would have woken up. Luckily, it looks like nothing paranormal happened that night because I would have been pretty upset if I had missed it, so look, I can't tell you if it's a certainty that there are ghosts in the Stanley Hotel or not, but what I can say.
Your thing is that you are definitely not guaranteed a paranormal experience, what I can bet is that it will probably still be pretty scary even if you don't believe in ghosts, it's like turbulence on a plane, I don't actually think the plane is going to crash, but When it happens I grab the armrest and, speaking of which, I think I should catch my flight back home.
