I purified my ENTIRE WORLD before the Dryad moved in

Jun 19, 2024
Two years ago I made a video titled how I got all the achievements in Terraria, unfortunately a new update came out just 3 months later featuring several more achievements and the comments under that video will surely remind me of it from most of the new ones. The achievements are pretty easy to get, so I got them pretty quickly through normal play, but there was one exception to unlocking this achievement: the player must talk to the

dryad

s in a crimson and holy uncorrupted

world

after 2 years of snoozing. this achievement, I think. It's time to restore my tape to 100%, but I want to take things a step further.

I want to purify the

entire

world

before the

dryad

arrives. That way she'll never have the chance to tell me to try harder as we get going. In the world, our first task is to quarantine the Crimson biome, which is actually very easy to do well, at least in pre-art mode, for now the world evil can only spread to adjacent grass blocks, so we only have to worry about the surface. I can use any Incorruptible block to contain the biome, but I chose sunflowers for those who don't know that they prevent the grass they were planted in from being affected, so by placing a sunflower on either side of our two Crimson biomes we have successfully contained the evil world. until hard mode, but how should we do to clean the world well in Pre mode?

More Interesting Facts About,

i purified my entire world before the dryad moved in...

Our options are very limited, without dyes, we can't use purification powder, so our only other option is to manually destroy every Crimson Block in your world. It is certainly possible. it's just not very practical so the plan is to progress to Hard Mode, get the steampunker moving and buy the polluter, of course all of this has to be done without spawning in the Triad initially I thought it would be quite complicated but it turns out Solo We have to avoid killing any of these three bosses, but before we even think about progressing to Har mode, we have some work to do.

Crimson spread is a completely different beast in Har mode and will start to spread to many more block types, particularly Stone. By allowing it to spread underground, it will also be able to spread three tiles away. We'll need a lot more than just a few sunflowers to keep this at bay and prevent the spread. We need to dig a space of three tiles around everything. Unfortunately, the best tool I had to do this was a gold pickaxe, so it took me almost 40 minutes to dig around the biome. This challenge will require a lot of mining, so I decided it would be a good idea to find some ways.

To improve our mining speed sooner rather than later, while the total mining speed bonuses from upgrades and items are equal to 135% according to the wiki, the game will limit the stat increase to 70% for the player, so in It really doesn't take much to maximize your efficiency. The first item I looked for was the Ancient Chisel, an accessory that increases mining speed by 25%. If we could find this accessory, we would be more than 1/3 of the way there if we could find it. I spent a good hour. or two searching my desert with splunkers opening every chest I could find but to no avail because I decided to do this challenge on a small world so there would be less to purify, there weren't that many chests to loot so there wasn't a single one chisel. generated, we could have it fall from a desert box, but I felt it would be faster to try to find other ways to reach the lid, so I switched gears and started grinding the mining set that can be obtained from the skeleton miners that are found.
However, the cave lir are a pretty rare spawn, so I decided to make a quick farm for them. Oh, and just as a side note, the Aether biome can be a great place for Little Farms like this because of the way it causes the biome to fill up completely. The area around it with stone prevents enemies from getting stuck in small caves off screen and slows down your farm. It also has a lot of open, flat space for enemies to spawn in. I left my game on for a few hours last night and was able to get the full mining set and a bone pickaxe, which is actually one of the best pickaxes on pre-hard mode.
It is linked with a silver pickaxe for the fastest mining speed before hard mode and is equal to the power of the gold pickaxe, but just wait until we start accumulating a little more. Upgrades, this thing is going to get absolutely ridiculous at this point, it's been a couple of hours since I destroyed an orb so I decided to just spawn the Goblin Army manually once again. I set up an AFK farm by the ocean and left my game for half a minute. Time to grind some cloth, unfortunately I made a big mistake, we now have over 200 lives and unlike the last AFK farm this one is on the surface which means we meet the natural spawning requirements for I cthulu and if you remember, this is one of the bosses we have to avoid killing to prevent the dries from spawning, this may not seem like a big deal because we are AFK and the lava can't damage it, however, I stopped the honeycomb and equipped an accessory that releases bees when we suffer damage.
We also had enough defense to completely take down the boss. I had somehow created the perfect set of circumstances to end our race. Fortunately, I returned to see what was going on before it was too late, but if I returned just a few minutes later or if the eyes had appeared the night before, we would instead be back to square one, so even though we jeopardized a race In the process, we had enough tighter fabric. I then made quick work of the goblins and found that the repairman's light is the best modifier with a 15% increase in mining speed, but since I was short on gold, I settled for agile, which gives us a 10% increase. %.
Fortunately, the game does not count this bonus towards the 70% total in the calculation, giving us even more room for bonuses. I threw a fruit into the Shimmer for Ambrosia, a permanent 5% boost to our mining speed. Finally, to reach the limit, we will use consumable upgrades. I stocked up on mining potions that give a 30% boost and well-fed upgrades that can give a 5 10. or 15% boost depending on the food level, we will only need the lowest level food to reach the cap, with that we have maximized our mining speed, so yeah, as you can see much, much faster, I think it was definitely worth our time.
Actually, crazy on the left is our setup for the first Crimson biome and on the right is, after all the upgrades, it's day and night and with that we're done, that took 6 minutes, I think it took 40 or more before, yeah no more. I didn't have to do this side, but this would only take another minute. However, we are not done yet. There is a common misconception that walls can spread evil in the world. This is probably because you can see Crimson spread and infect natural walls, however. Walls themselves cannot spread Crimson to blocks. You can consider it as a purely visual change, so we can leave them as is.
However, the less talked about thorn bushes and vines can actually infect blocks in hard mode. Well, the thorny bushes that you can see on the surface that can grow right next to your three-block gap and then reach out to spread the evil to the other side are pretty unlikely to happen. Additionally, if you have grass under your quarantine zone, the vines will eventually grow and negate all your efforts, so it is imperative that you add some corruptible non-c blocks, such as wood, to either side of your biome on the surface and Make sure grass doesn't extend to the bottom of your biome.
If you want to be safer, you can line the bottom with any block except mud or dirt. Now that we have completely sealed our Crimson biomes, we can progress to Hard Mode. I chose the normal difficulty for this world because I was only concerned about getting the achievement as quickly as possible, so defeating the wall was a piece of cake. Having some sticks of dynamite enter our mode is great because we have access to the polluter after defeating a Mech boss, however, there are two very big drawbacks that I haven't mentioned yet. First of all, the creson begins to spread at a much faster rate, in addition, the world generates what is commonly known as Hard Mode V, a diagonal crimson stripe and another hollow one that run from the top to the bottom of the world. and they connect at Howell to form a V shape.
Unfortunately, this creates a lot more work for us, but due to just the effectiveness with which the polluter is progressing to Hard Mode is worth it despite these aspects in my opinion. negatives, but as I said before, the world evil is spreading much faster now, so we have to act fast just like we did in Pre Time mode, our first step is to eliminate the new infections thanks to the mining equipment we set up Previously, the introduction of Har mode enemies was inconsequential in this step. Now that we have clearly defined where we will need to purify, it was time to focus on obtaining the steam bunker.
To obtain this NPC we must defeat any of the three Mech bosses. Interestingly, if I had made this exact same video before 1.4.4, this step would have been much more annoying because every time you destroyed an altered demon in previous iterations of Terraria, an evil block, it would randomly appear somewhere in the world, as you can Imagine, this would make this challenge a little more difficult, so naturally we would have to avoid crushing the Alters, but if we did that, the only way to spawn a Mech boss would be to farm for summons 1 and 2500, but since we're at 1.4.4 we can safely destroy an alter and create the summon for any Mech we'd like to fight.
If there's cheese on the table, the easiest Mech to defeat is undoubtedly the Destroyer. I'm sure most of you have already seen the speed of killing with dynamite, but for those of you who haven't, by hanging over the ocean, placing a chest just out of sight, and throwing some Dynam M, They can kill the boss in a matter of seconds, without any other suitable blocks to spawn, the Destroyer is forced to spawn right below you, giving you easy access to each of its segments, so the steampunker is free to move around. However, we're not quite ready to start purifying our world, we still have to buy the pollutant which, as I'm sure you all know, isn't exactly cheap, so I made the easiest and most efficient money routine I could.
Think of the surface that imitates the Farm. I wouldn't be surprised if some of you didn't even know that Mimics could spawn on the surface because they can be quite rare as the spawn requirements usually don't occur naturally for a Mimic to spawn on the surface there has to be walls of dirt. natural present in Har mode. I don't need that much demonstration, but my terrain wasn't very flat, so I had to dig a little more and then you just tie yourself with a rope until you can't see the surface blocks anymore and wait. I highly recommend connecting a dart trap to AG. them once they appear on it will also work as a good Q AUD to indicate when there is a mimic ready to be killed, of course to maximize your farm efficiency definitely bring some water candles and battle potions that mimic, drop a lot of gold, one kills and When you take into account the gold from selling the drops, the farm is very lucrative, so after a battle potion we earn enough gold for the polluter and, 1500 solution, the polluter has a rank of purification of 60 blocks by spraying the solution to the left and right of the player will have covered a horizontal distance of 120 blocks, so if we dig a tunnel to Hill every 120 tiles from one side of Harbo to the other, we should be able to purify it all.
He wasn't lying when he said it's going to take a lot of research, okay if I don't mention this now I'm sure I'll get a ton of comments about it, so yes I know about the Terraformer, yes it has much better range so I wouldn't have to dig as many tunnels, but it's also post-Moon Lord and I'm not a speedrunner, so at least for me it's much faster to use the less efficient polluter because it's available much earlier in the progression to help with the excavation and purification process. I defeated Skeletron and took the cobalt shield from the dungeon.
Getting knocked down along the way would consume tons of time and could lead to us losing a spot in the purification process. I'll only get a chance if the Dr. comes and we don't get that achievement, we have to start over, but wait, didn't I just meet the spawn requirements for the dry well early? Yeah, but that's completely fine because now we have our polluter, so I don't actually need these NPCs. Now we can prevent it from reproducing by removing the torches from each house untillet's be ready, so after about 30 minutes of digging we finally finished the first half of the M axles.
I can only imagine how much longer this would take. Taken without any of those mining upgrades with half the tunnels complete, I used a feather fall potion and started polluting and while it was certainly tedious, it was incredibly satisfying to see the evil world gradually fade into the minimap, although after a time I noticed that our solution was draining much faster than I expected when I initially bought everything from the steam bunker, I thought we had enough but my estimates were way off as we ran out of green solution just before purifying only half of the V , so after grinding some gold and buying more. solution I made sure to go through the last two tunnels again in case something spreads during that process again, we really want to be thorough here and with that we

purified

the hollow biome in the first half of the V from there, it was simply a matter of repeat this process for the other side and then finally contaminate the original Crimson biomes we started with.
It took me about 8 hours to get to the excavation and purification stage and another three to finish everything, but as long as I didn't make any mistakes. We should be left with a completely

purified

world, so we are free to add the Torches to our houses and generate the tri, but only if I haven't made any SS mistakes and I wasn't so sure, so I made one. last pass to the surface to see if there was anything I missed and thank god I did, oh my god I'm so glad I realized this, okay I died but I don't care because this rarely happens, nor I don't even know if I've seen this before from CU.
I usually don't use L islands much. I've heard this could happen, but I've never experienced this for myself until now in the previous illustrations I showed in the V mode of the strip. it started on the surface but it would be more accurate to show it starting from space, however I didn't bother because you usually wouldn't notice this unless you have an intersecting Skyland part of the V like mine here because if I rarely forgot completely to review the islands if it weren't for the wyvern he spawned. I thought I would have found this until it was too late, a nice change of pace from the typical wyvern spawns that ruin my day, so after I purified myself. the island and I hope that none of the others have been impacted.
I slept for a full day and waited for the disk to arrive. It is very important that we sleep a full day here because the Dy needs a game day to update the state of the world if we had not done this we could have had to start over despite having a completely pure world. Well, here is the dryad. Now we hope that everything is in order and we don't miss any places. I was quite thorough. look, but we'll see what happens here we go state The purity is completely pure did an amazing job Is there anything else?
That's it, that's it. I always hoped there would be a unique dialogue if you can get it first. I was pretty sure there wouldn't be, let's be real, but it's great to have the D spawned and then she's never scolded you for being lazy because we did it, we did our homework and there we have it. I can finally say once again that I have all the achievements in Terraria for now, unfortunately there is a new update on the horizon that will probably add more achievements, but I hope to be rid of those YouTube comments for at least a few months.
Thanks for watching. I'll see you all next time
