I have the solar bleach wood stain. I have chalk paint and a decorative wax finish. This will be the first time I use it. I am very excited with the result. Then, premium cleaning cloths to spot clean. In fact, I'm sorry. The dyeing pads. In fact, I could have used these for waxing. I could use this or something different, but I don't quite understand it, so the first thing you'll want to do is clean the coffee table and remove all the dirt. or whatever remains from the years it was used or that, so I'm just using Meyers cleaner.

I don't know about this because it's a core oil base, but we'll see, I'll sand it anyway, we'll see why we clean. Who had this coffee table before me and really took care of it because you can tell the old solid foods are in good shape but over time things collect dust. I know my coffee table in this bag right now is a lot of dust because when you're steaming or painting these dust bunnies, they'll make you do anything to clean the inside and then I'll turn it over and clean the next side, so now that the coffee table is clean, that's why we clean the furniture even if it looks clean.
It's been in my garage for a while. He has traveled to the back of the muddy Jeep. That would be it, the perfections and the painting. Now I'm going to sand the coffee table now that it's all clean. I'll probably just do it. do the top and a little bit of the sides because chalk paint will probably work on the bottom legs because no one really pays attention to them so I'm really concentrating on whitewashing just the top here's my sander it's just a little hand sander , it's about five dollars at Home Depot and you like that and this is a 120 paper so you're definitely going to want to use a twilight to master this.
I had my tank top like covering my nose because you're going to breathe it in and it's so disgusting that I had to put on my boyfriend's shirt because it was burning me and I don't want to get my clothes dirty, but anyway, here's the stained spot, here it is the sanded product that you don't want to be too perfect. and too fussy with the sanding part, as long as you have all the finish on top, there may be a little bit of stain left, but it's okay if you dig too deep and you have that original wood that you're not going to have like that.

farmhouse

worn look, so this will be a great base to start chalk painting on, but now I have to dust off all that sand from the table, sweep it out of the garage, and then clean it once again, so I'm going to pay the legs with the chalk pain, let it dry, turn it over and then I'll work on the top, so they're doing construction next door so you probably can't hear very well, but I've got the first coat of chalk. paint on the bottom and it's drying perfectly because it's like a matte finish, so when I apply another coat it won't be clumpy or peel off.
It's the perfect paint to use on old furniture that you're refinishing, so I'm going to give it about ten minutes to dry and then I'm going to give it another light coat of white chalk paint and when that coat dries, I'm going to go ahead and turn it over. to paint the sides that you can't see when it is upside down, you only want to paint what can be seen, so if the bottom of the coffee table is wooden, don't worry, no one will see it, it will be a waste of energy , so just paint what's not there. so I'm going to turn it over to paint a couple of little embellishments that I can't get to when it's upside down and then after everything is dry I'm going to go ahead and go over it with a little bit of sun bleach. stain to give it a little bit of texture and then we'll wax it, so here's the first coat.
You don't want it perfect, otherwise your coffee table won't have any character and it's okay if you don't get everything on the first layer. This is the perfect paint for people who aren't good at painting, aka your girl, so the first few coats are done and we'll go over another time, so this is what a second coat does. This is the first layer. Here is the second layer. That's why. two coats of paint are crucial, okay, I finish the second coat on the bottom, so all you see, that's why the visible pieces of the coffee table, and then I'll give it about 20 more minutes to dry , turn it over and finish a little. pieces I probably missed from this angle, so while I'm waiting for the paint to dry I'm drinking a smoothie that has spinach, wheat grass, almond milk, frozen banana, and frozen peaches, okay, go about an hour and it's dry, so I'm going to go ahead and turn it over, as you can see there are some pieces that I couldn't get to when it was upside down, so I'm going to go ahead and finish them now, so I have some of the pieces down here and Drying of the extra coat and as you can see I have a little bit of paint on there, but that's not a problem because I already told you that I'm a sloppy painter, so I'm just going to sand it lightly.
I want to keep the top. a little bit darker, I really like this look of the wood, so instead of the super bleached, I'm going to do a little bit lighter on the top because the natural wood color is very good, so now I'm going to go down here and Sand my little mistakes on the sides of the table. You don't want to sand anything until the paint is dry. Otherwise, you will have sand and wood debris all over the table. It's not good, so I'll do it lightly. I want to do it really hard and in the end it comes out, you just have to keep working at it, okay?
I'm going to work on sanding the top layer a little more because there are some orange tents I want to get rid of on the table. before I start staining, so I'm going to apply a top coat or just do one last round of sanding on top and then I'm ready to add some details. Look, I'm getting the orange tents out of there now that I'm I'm going to clean up the top, honestly, it's such a beautiful piece of wood that has so much detail on it that it's going to look really nice when I add some veneer and stain to it and then I also have to adding stain details down here to give it a worn look but anyway I'm going to sweep and come back to look at these little gaps, you can fill them with wood filler if you want but I love them I think they add a lot of natural

distress

and keep the character of the coffee table and it lets you understand that this coffee table has lived a wonderful life and has a lot of history, so I call them Little History Tibbets.
I'm going to keep them in there and I think they look good, so now we're going to do another round of cleaning using the wood stain and it's not bleached, it looks great, but it turned out really well when you add it with what you have and what you're going to want. gloves for this and I'm using a wax pad. I bought a set of them because you don't want to wax with the same thing you're left with, so we'll just add a little bit. My dad always told me that a little goes a long way with stains. give it a good lime wash.
You'll probably need both hands for this. I'll be back, so while the first coat of stain is drying, I'm going to go all the way and add a little bit of stain to the white paint. To give it a

distress

ed look, first of all, you're working out here. I don't know if you can see it very well. I'll have it and I better put it up soon, but I love how the distressed one looks, but Below you can see just a quick glimpse of how I'm doing it. They are so impressive. Now that the second coat of stain is dry, I'm going to take the brush and it's wet.
I'm just going to take a little bit of paint like this, a little bit with water and then I'm going to add the strips on top until it gives it a nice look so you can tell the difference between the side that has the white paint and then this side that doesn't. it does and the reason I'm adding a little bit of water to the chalk paint is because obviously it sends it, but that's what gives it the whitening otherwise it's just going to be a white table. and that defeats the purpose of lime so if I add water it still gives you that almost dye like texture and you can do this until you get the color of lime that you prefer, sometimes you can just use the water that's in your Brush. instead of continuing to dip it into the paint this could take a good 20 minutes before I get the color I want so here is the color I'm going for it's really bad at slipping so once it's on my living room, I'll be able to see it, but it's a nice whitewash, so the top layer is dry.
It looks much better now that it's dry and not wet. This lighting is very bad, so please be patient until I put it in the living room. Now I'm going to go ahead and add the wax. I'm making a clear one and I'm going to go ahead and add it with the wax pads and then let it dry for 22 minutes now that the wax is on. dry, I'm going to buff it with the cloth and then that's it, if you feel the table and it feels a little sticky then you know there's still wax there so take your towel and keep rubbing and then when it's smooth apply the wax. wax has gone on wax, so here is the final product.
