HOW TO ACCESS FLOURISHES & SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN CRICUT DESIGN SPACE USING CHARACTER MAP UWP

Hello everyone welcome back to my channel today I want to share how to get these really pretty letters with your fonts when I started with my Cricut machine. I always saw them and wondered how people got them, so today I just wanted to share how you guys do it. this and the font I'm

using

is Samantha vertical, so I'm going to show you what it looks like when you type this in

design

space

, so I'm going to type it in and as you can see, it appears as This doesn't show these letters automatically, so you have to use some kind of program to get these letters here.

I have a Windows computer, so I'm going to show you how to do this with Windows, but if you have a Mac computer, you can use a program called font lab and you'll just Google that and then download it to your computer and it'll be pretty similar to what which I'm

using

here, so if you're on a Mac, that's where you'll need to download, but on Windows I want to show you that there's something called a

character

map and you may have already heard of this, but this automatically appears on the desktop from your computer, so if I select this, I'll do it.

I show you what it looks like, it appears on the screen and it's so small you can see it here, it's very hard to see these letters and I don't like to use this at all so what I like to do is use UWP

character

map and this is something that you can download, it's free and it displays much larger and I love using it and there are also some other programs that you can use besides the character map, you can use the main type, that's what it's called. It also uses the map of Babel and I think there might be a couple more.

I think maybe the Nexus font so there's a few other things you can use but this is the one I've always used and I really like it so what you're going to do is you're just going to Google this and then you're going to hit get and you're going to hit open Microsoft Store and I already installed this on my computer but I'm just going to show you what the screen looks like when it comes up so right here just hit install and it will install on your computer so I'm going to show you how I use this and I also want to show you what font I'm using : Samantha font and I bought it on powerful deals website and it was $17 and after you buy this you can also use it as commercial use so anything you are making to sell you can use this on anything you are selling and just I decided to buy this font because it has so many different

characters

and so many beautiful and different letters, so I really love it, but you can go to dafont.com and you can see here that there are also a lot of free letters, most of them are for personal use and you can even see I.

I thought this looks a little bit like the Samantha font, but I'm going to show you how I use the Samantha font because there are a lot of different

characters

and fun things you can do with it, so I'm going to delete it and then I'll show you with this here how I change these letters, so I'm going to type in the character map and go to the one I downloaded, which is this one, okay and this is what it looks like. you can see all the fonts that are on your computer and I'm going to scroll down to the Samantha font that I'm using so I'm going to select it and then you can see at the top here it shows that this is your font and here are all the different characters that you can use and this font has a lot of different ones in so many pretty letters.

I love this font, but there are a ton here and you can see it will show up. on the side, so I'll go back to my thanks and show you how I do this. The first thing I want to change is my T so I'm going to go back to my character map and I'm going to look for a little T and it's really nice because it's all in medical order so it's a lot easier to find what you're looking for and it does. faster so here are all the teas and I think you're going to use this tea so just select that and you can see it appear here and you can see it's a lot bigger than the character map that comes with your computer and then it what you're going to do is hit copy and then you're going to go back to the Cricut

design

and then the next thing I do is I double click on my thank you and then I'm going to highlight just the team and then I'm going to right click and hit paste and it appears It looks like a little square, but you can see it automatically puts that tea in there so it's actually pretty easy so I'm also going to change the H so I'm going to go back and look for an H and this is the H that I want to use so I'm going to select it and help press copy again and then I'll just double click or not double click.

I'm going to highlight my H and copy and paste it and there it appears right there and then I also want to do I'm trying to remember which ones I did I think I did the F ok so I'm going to go back and look for an F and I'm trying to remember which one I did I think I did this one, so I'm going to select it and I'm going to copy it and then I'm going to do the same thing for the F and then I'm going to go in and change to a different L, so I'm going to to select that one, I'm going to press copy and then once again I'm just going to paste it, okay, so I have all my letters, so now I just want to connect all of these together, so I'm going to do this like you would do it. normally, do it, you just press the group and then connect all of these together and this is what it looks like with all of them together, it's a lot of fun and you can get very creative with this and I feel like this opens up a lot of options. when you know how to use the character map, if you have any questions about this, leave a comment below and I will try to answer you, like this video if it was helpful and subscribe if you are new to my channel.
