How I can? increase my CPM, all that, so I'm going to share some tips with you that I've learned along the way, but you have to stick around. I mean my notes are fine, so let's start with some basic questions that I know I had. but I've also seen these questions from you guys before, so

first

one, when will ads start appearing on your YouTube videos once they're monetized?
how much youtube paid me my first year being monetized what you need to know about monetization
It can happen within the next 24 hours, so I wouldn't immediately jump to your YouTube channel and see if an ad appears in front of your videos, it may take a little time, but basically you can expect that the next day you will definitely have ads on your videos and then the next question these ads will appear automatically. they appear or do I have to do something to make them appear on my channel and the answer is yes, they will appear automatically and they will apply to all your old videos. This is a question I get all the time,

what

about the videos? that I created before I was monetized, those videos will also have ads appear on them, so it's not that they are losing money, they are losing money that they could have made from those videos, it's just that once they monetize them, the ads appear. you will be placed on them and then you will start getting

paid

for the views you get in the future, you can't get

paid

for the views you already received because you obviously didn't have ads on your videos, but when I say they will automatically be placed on your videos, you

need

to turn on your

monetization

, you need to have the right settings to make sure that ads actually appear on your videos, so I have my laptop here.

I love including things like this in my

youtube

videos that give you a little tutorial so you know exactly what I'm talking about so I want to show you the

monetization

settings that will appear on your channel once you're monetized and just let me walk you through of it, okay, the only tab that You should have noticed that here on the left side is this monetization tab and I'm sure if you're paying attention to the website, you had it in your viewing hours or if you had to reach your number of subscribers, this was the place where you would do it.
You went to see how close you were to reaching that milestone to monetize on YouTube, but once you're monetized, other options will appear here. You may not have immediate access to all of these options. You have to hit certain milestones with your subscribers to get access to different things within YouTube, so I may not have all of this here, but this isn't really the area I want to show you here. If you click on settings, we'll load the defaults and then the monetization directly inside of this. The section is where you need to have the type of ads you want to place on your videos, as well as the placement of your ad, so that YouTube will automatically place an ad in front of your video that is quite prominent and I'll show it to you here in a second, how they can customize it for each video, if they wish.
I wouldn't really recommend it, but I will share it with you, so here are types of ads. I would recommend having them all selected. increase your chances of earning the most money on YouTube and then here during video ads or mid-roll ads is what I will refer to in this video, that is when there is an ad placed in the middle of your video. I feel like it's pretty obvious and you've probably seen them several times before. YouTube recently changed their rules and this will go live at the end of this month, but previously you had to have videos longer than 10 minutes if you wanted to.
I wanted to have an ad in the middle of your video, otherwise you could only have an ad at the beginning and end, so you're missing out on the opportunity to make more money if those ads stopped people in the middle. videos, get those views and make more money, you guys know exactly what I'm talking about, but YouTube just changed and they're launching at the end of this month. Videos that are longer than eight minutes can now have mid-roll ads, so I'll talk about that a little bit in the future, but I just wanted to share this with you guys real quick and then if you ever want to customize a YouTube video, let's say that they do it.
I don't want mid-roll ads to play. Let's say you don't want the end of a video ad to play. I don't know why you would do that, but in case you don't, I'll click on my most recent video. what I have here is a time setting on the left side where you can click on monetization and you can select monetization on or off so if you don't want a video to be monetized you can turn it off there if you want you can select the type of ads for this specific video as well as the placement of those ads, so let's say you don't want a mid-roll ad, you can just deselect it and then the mid-world ads won't play now, obviously.
I want my ads mid-roll, so I'll leave them selected. The next question really ties into what we were talking about and is: can you decide what type of ads appear on your YouTube videos? The answer is yes and no. You can decide what type of ads appear on your YouTube video. So do you want the ones that scroll over the bottom? Here you know those little pop-ups that appear. Do you want that type of ad or do you want the ones that appear completely? take control of the video you can decide those type of ads but you can't decide who is the advertiser when will i see how much money i have made if you recently got monetized on yots i am sure almost everyone a single person has done this on the day that you get monetized the next day, when you wake up you're probably really excited to see how much money you made because you're used to your analytics being delayed a day for views, look at our subscribers, everything was delayed a day. day, but with your monetization it is actually delayed by two days, so if you want to know how much money you made on the

first

day of monetization, you have to wait two full days for it to appear in your YouTube creator studio.
Next question, I know. I'm going to want my computer, but that's what I get all the money I see in my analysis for. I heard YouTube takes 50% and guys, if you've ever seen a video that talks about my first paycheck on YouTube. or make money on YouTube which was created probably early 2019 2018 before people said YouTube takes 50% so the money you see you actually only get 50% of that and that was true in that moment now inside the new YouTube creator studio. They updated things and they should have been doing this all along, but you live and learn, you know, so now the analytics you see are actually the money you made before they showed your channel as a whole, how much money you made from the advertisers. and then YouTube obviously takes a cut because YouTube needs to make money, it's a business, but now they just show you how much money they make and take it home, so if I share with you how much money I made in June right here.
You can see I made six thousand seven hundred and thirty-eight dollars and eighty-seven cents and that's actually money that they're going to pay me and that doesn't include the YouTube part and then the next question is awesome guys, when is it going to happen? ? I get paid, so YouTube gets paid monthly, so all the money you make in May, all the money you make in June, but it's managed through Google Adsense, if you didn't know YouTube is owned by Google, then You need to have a Google Adsense account, which you probably already know if you earn money on YouTube because that's one of the steps you need to take, but all the money you earn in June, for example, will not transfer. to your Google Adsense account until the middle of next month, so if you say yes, July 1st, I want to see how much money is actually going to hit my bank account this month with Google Adsense, it won't be there, you have to wait. until I think your time period is about July 10-15, that money will be transferred from YouTube to Google Adsense and then it won't hit your bank account until July 21, so that month will actually be the month following. switch to Adsense and then on the 21st it ends up hitting your bank account and it's a direct deposit into your bank account.
Okay guys, it's time to share exactly how much money I made from YouTube in one year. Let me tell you a little story, so my goal with my brand, if you watch my video talking about my journey on YouTube arch, is my journey as a

youtube

r blogger, how to get started on YouTube. I shared my struggles and how I was trying. to find other ways to make money because I wasn't getting that money from my brand yet and I talked about how I was self-employed. I also ran with GrubHub and just needed to find other ways to make money and off I go.
I'll share this in another video soon, but my goal to monetize on YouTube was to make $1000 a month. I earned $1,000 a month, which would allow me to stop freelancing and dedicate more time to my YouTube channel and overtime. I mean, you just saw that last month they ended up making over $6,000 from my YouTube channel and it's grown a lot more than I ever thought and this is more money than I ever expected to make just from ads on my channel. from YouTube. and I know guys, the video that was supposed to be posted today is me sharing how much money I'm making from YouTube right now and this will be next week's video.
I promise I just wanted to take more time to do it. as best as possible, but this is just one of my sources of income, so with the money you'll see, I'm making more money than that and I thought yeah, YouTube ads were going to be a good source of income for me, so was. It's going to allow me to go beyond freelancing and dedicate more time to my brand and my channel, but I never knew it would change my life the way it has and, again, it's just one of my sources of income, so, oh, this is crazy.
So if we go up here, I'll click on the last 365 days and you'll see that I ended up making forty-four thousand eight hundred and thirty-seven dollars and 16 cents in just one year on YouTube. Well now it's time to share some tips on how you can make more money with your YouTube ads and the first one is something that I already mentioned in this video and in fact I also shared it in a couple of other videos in the past, but before that it was actually monetized on YouTube. I discovered that videos longer than ten minutes could have mid-roll ads, which meant that the more ads placed on your YouTube videos, basically, the more opportunities you would have to make money, so I started creating longer videos. where you could have not just mid-roll ads but possibly two ads in the middle and we're going to talk about ad placement and other things here in a second about how you can really increase your revenue with where you place them. your ads on your videos and I'll also show you exactly how to do it, but now the feature has changed so videos longer than eight minutes can have ads from halfway around the world and if you want to make more money, guys have At least one ad in the middle of your video helps increase your chances of making more money, so if you can increase the length of your video, I'm not saying you need to have 30 minute long videos, although if you do, you may have further. ads on your videos, but even a little over eight minutes long, that will help you.
Tip number two is strategic ad placement. Now this is different foreach niche. I saw some niches that are more like lifestyle vlog type videos. where they get away with ads every two or three minutes and there are a lot of ads per video, like if you have a ten minute long video and they have four ads in the middle, oh my gosh, that's right. There are a lot of strange ads, but one thing I've noticed with my audience is that you guys comment when I have too many ads on my videos and I know it, so when I started on YouTube I tried to put ads every three minutes.
I think that was my strategy was every three minutes and I started seeing comments that people were actually clicking on the video because there were too many ads, so you really have to be careful not to have too many ads that will put people off and leave your video because you want people to watch your video for as long as possible; That's a more important statistic for growing your channel beyond making more money with lots of ads on your videos, but you also don't want to have too few. ads on your videos because then you are losing the opportunity to make money, so what I do within my own channel and this will be different for each niche, so what I recommend to you is that you watch other people in your niche and see where they are placing their ads, how many ads they are placing within their videos, but for me, I place my ads every five minutes.
I tried to space them every five minutes, the first ad I'll have maybe between 3 and 5 minute mark I try to get people to watch from the beginning so they see two ants, they see the one at the beginning of the video, but that's also a way of attract people while they still have their attention on the video, but others Also, I space them five minutes apart, so let me show you within YouTube how you can place your ads because this is something that you really need to know once you get monetized on YouTube and I had no idea how to do it so I want to share with you so I'm going to go here and click on the videos one more time and we're going to go to my most recent video here on the left side.
I already showed them what they want. To make sure that you have your monetization turned on down here, you need to select your mid-roll ad and then here on the left side we're going to click on editor and this is where you're going to be able to place your ads and you're going to be able to See that for this video I've stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and one ad there, so there are actually five ads included in the middle of this video, there is one ad at the beginning of the video and one at the end of the video, so there are seven ads that someone could see and with the that I will end up making money and the reason why this video has five ads in the middle, I mean that's a lot of ads for me because this video is 29 minutes long. long so you can see that little timestamp there so because this video is so long I was able to have more ads and I tried to split them up about five minutes apart so I just clicked on one of these so it will select this section.
Down here, so this is your ad break section. I'm right above, here you can see the timestamps of all of these, so yeah, I hope that's true. This one, like I said, started around the three minute mark and then we've passed the 8 minute mark so we had a five minute part five minutes apart, this one was a little bit longer so almost seven minutes apart and then this one was six minutes apart, so I spaced it out a little bit more in the video because I thought. Anyone who watched the full video, I didn't want to keep bothering you with ads every 5 minutes, so I spaced them out a little more.
Now I'm going to share a little tip with you and this is really something that really works to make more money with strategic ad placement on YouTube when you have something interesting included in your video or if you have the title of your video and that's what people click on your video, that's what they want and you're done. to get to that part place an ad make people watch that ad to get to the part of the video they want to see so for example in this video I really hope it works the way I want it to so I can run an ad just before I share how much money I made on YouTube in a year because people will actually watch that ad to get the information they want to see.
It's tricky, but it works, telling you it works will make people not do it. Click out of the video once they see the ad because they want to see the information that you're going to share afterwards, so what I would recommend doing is when you feel like you want to place an ad, let's say it's within the first 5 minutes. I'll spend more or less here in five minutes. I'm going to watch the video. I'm going to see where there's a natural spot for an ad break. So if I don't have something, I don't know if you'd call.
It's suspenseful, but if I don't have something where people actually want to watch the ad to get the information, I'll just find a natural pause within the video that seems to fit, if you just throw an ad in there randomly it'll interrupt the video and It won't flow as easily, so if there's a natural interruption, maybe you're changing scenes or maybe you're just talking, put an ad in there so you can play the video and find a place you want the ad once you're done. have the ad you want, come up here, click on the ad break and it will appear down there and then the last tip I have for you, if you're wondering how the heck you can increase your CPM, your CPM actually changes.
I should explain what CPM is if you are new to monetization. CPM means cost per thousand views so it's how much money you make per thousand views and this changes depending on each video on your channel guys so if you want to know. How the heck can I make more money within my niche? Even different videos within your niche will generate different CPMs. My main niche. I'm talking about YouTube. I'm talking about YouTube tips, but there are different topics under that YouTube tips umbrella that make more money. And here's a very, very good example for you, this video right here, my 0 to 1000 subscribers video, is one of my most popular videos on my channel and it ended up generating me over 200,000 views, but this video ended up generating me only $ 800 now.
I say it only makes me $800 because this other video I have here has 140,000 views so there are still a lot of views, but it ended up making me $1,900 and you might be wondering why you don't get paid to watch, that's not like you. You get a flat rate per view that you get paid, it's different for each video based on cp/m, so if I go up here I'll click on the earnings tab. The CPM of this video is $23 which is actually really high CPM and that's why he ended up making almost $1,000 so far this video clicks income again his CPM is only eight dollars and fifty two in sense , so even though one of them is talking about gaining more subscribers, getting your first 1000 subscribers and the other is talking about keywords on YouTube, their CPM is very different and there are a few things that determine your CPM, including your audience, so The location of your audience, depending on the country they are in, will really affect your CPM, but an important factor is your topic, so if you are wondering how the heck can I make more money, create videos that make me more money, check out Take a look at your analytics within your videos, see what your CPM is and find out what topics they are.
Ultimately, you will make the most money on YouTube now, if that's it for this video, it's the perfect time. I was trying to get it going in the morning because we have people fenced in here and Fancy is barking at them while they lay down. I started, so I have to go. I hope you liked this video and found it useful. If you did, be sure to like and subscribe to my channel. It really helps support me and lets me know what videos they want to see. watch the following video. I promise I'm going to talk about how much money I make on YouTube, but with 200,000 subscribers, so I'm going to break down exactly how much money I make in a month and I think this is really going. to help them make more money or realize the potential of the money they can make on this platform, so that's all from me.
I have people in the driveway. I have to go, bye guys, this is up close and personal and why? I mean dad of course immediately stops what's going on, why are you doing this to me? YouTube, come on, I think this is a little crooked. I keep getting candy bites. Better guys, I'm getting horny, let me redo that.
