Guys, Far From Home is So Good

Jun 01, 2021
so I just watched Spider Boy, There's No Place Like Home and I really liked it. This may not be a big surprise, but I like Spider-Man. I even like it when Spiderman isn't very

good

. I just like everything related to Spider-Man. but that doesn't mean I give all the Spider-Man movies a pass, you

guys

know nothing is sacred here, so when I say I like this movie, I mean it, honestly, I really like this movie, and by the way, this is going to happen. Be spoiler free until the end, where I warn you like I always do, you know how it goes now, honestly, it's very hard to get through Spider-verse.

I mean, Spider-verse is the best Spider-Man movie, it's not even a question after watching it. I thought yeah, I don't really need to see it away from

home

because it won't be as

good

as Spider-verse and I really wasn't being fair because his movies have completely different roles. Spider-verse is a love letter. For the character that can be considered independent, Far From Home is the continuation of an ongoing saga, they are not the same in any way, apart from the fact that they star a character called Peter, Far From Home is perfectly fine on its own because it doesn't is the same thing and it doesn't try to be, it's a very comedic movie for most of the running time, but surprisingly it feels darker than

home

coming, a lot of people complain that homecoming has no real risks because the people, don't die and if those people say that this movie has no stakes or consequences, I will rip off my nose and put it back upside down.

More Interesting Facts About,

guys far from home is so good...

Now this movie is mostly about Peter struggling with not being able to get what he wants because he has a job to do, which is pretty standard Spider-Man and has been done very well here up to this point in the MCU Peter has only done what he wants. They say what to do, he hasn't been able to make any decisions for himself and this movie is very much about him stepping out of the shadow of Tony and the other Avengers, I understand that Tony's role in the MCU is bigger than any other Marvel Universe , but I personally don't want him to be so closely connected to Spider-Man because I love Spider-Man. man to be something of his own, this movie is about how Peter overcomes this and becomes a more independent hero.

Another thing he was absolutely pleased with is how they handled the ending of the game as expected, the time jump is addressed and done quickly. It's funny if you're wondering about the horrible existential implications of the snap, well this movie offers a lot of information about it, it's not something the characters just ignore like it's insignificant, it's a big deal and this movie addresses it like Yeah, If this happened in real life, it would be pretty sad and messy, but in this universe I'm fine with them treating it as a joke. Endgame is a very emotional movie, it's dark and sad, and this movie doesn't need to do that. carrying that energy doesn't diminish the events of that movie if we laugh at it now if this movie started sadly right after the end the game ends sadly it wouldn't have worked the audience needs a palate cleanser and Spider-Man is perfect for that.

It's refreshing to be able to laugh at the events of the endgame because if we're being honest, why wouldn't the things that happened in that movie be crazy? And starting this movie with comedy is pure genius after that, the rest of this first act. It's mostly low-key high school romantic comedy material and yes, it may sound bad, but it's not. I enjoy the idea that the Spider-Man movies have more slice-of-life elements than the other Marvel movies. Some people say the movie really doesn't. continue until Mysterio appears, but I disagree. I really liked this cute little high school thing they're doing, we should see a lot of Peter out of the suit to establish his surroundings and the people he spends his time with, but anyway that's all I can talk about without going into spoilers , so here's your warning, I'm NOT going to wait any longer, okay, come on, let's get to that saying that Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the best things in this movie.
I love Quentin Beck's and I's portrayal of him. I think he's the most accurate Spider-Man villain we've had since then, as the Green Goblin, and before Raimi fans go crazy, I think Otto Octavius is good in that movie, but he doesn't really represent what the character is to me as a comic. To me, a fan of the books, Spider-Man's villains should be evil, spiteful nerds who want to kill Peter or ruin his life, and Mysterio fits that perfectly, he's actually quite cruel and really wants to kill Peter Parker and anyone. that gets in your way. targets, innocent people die in this movie and Peter just has to face the fact that he has to do something about it, there's no more of them out there, so Peters is forced to deal with these things on his own. .
Mysterio feels more like a traditional Spider-Man villain and that's exactly the kind of thing I think the movies need. I also have to say that I really like Zendaya in this movie. He was a little angry with her performance in the last movie which he wasn't really a fan of. how edgy this character is, but she wasn't in the movie much so I don't really think about that and in this movie she comes across more as a cute socially awkward teenager who bounces off of Peter well, their chemistry is really, really, really well too and if it wasn't like that this whole series would be ruined not just this movie in this whole movie you really want to see them together and for most Spider-Man fans that's a really important thing to get right.
The movie has things that I thought were a little weird and that I would have preferred to be different. On the one hand, this movie has awful ADR. There are moments when a character says something completely different than what he actually says, it just draws you in. It pulled me out of the movie really hard, the last thing that bothered me is that Peter's spider sense plot device doesn't work. This has happened in other movies and comics, so I don't care about the plot point itself, but the thing is, it's not actually mentioned until the end of the movie.
Peter doesn't dodge this banana that Aunt May throws at him at the beginning of the movie and then he spends the rest of the movie and right at the end we're told that his Spider-Sense hasn't worked, that's a big deal and it feels like the movie just he forgot to tell us, but anyway, despite those things, he was perfectly fine with this movie. I had to watch it a second time just to make sure I had everything. but honestly, this movie is very solid and fun and I have to mention that it probably has my favorite mid-credits scene in any MCU movie.
To me, the mid-credits scene should be like little comic book trailers to show you what you're in for. next issue and that's exactly it this feels like a perfect cliffhanger of a Spider-Man comic. I was half expecting a little text bubble at the end saying Oh Webb, heads, how will Spidey get out of this? I love stories where Peter is framed and has the entire city against him, it's a staple of Spider-Man storytelling and something we haven't seen in a movie yet. I'm really excited to see where he goes in the next movie and that's really the biggest takeaway. here I just want more guy movies now and after my endgame review where I said I'm emotionally done with the MCU which is high praise coming from me you may be a little on the fence about the rest of the MCU but I'm never going to change. a spider man movie, so anyway we have to rate this movie now and I'm going to go ahead and tell you something that most movie review channels are afraid to say, my previous ratings are a little inaccurate honestly, I think most of my MCU ratings would probably go down like a number.
I've always praised Homecoming, but I honestly think I'd take it down a notch too. I still like it, but I don't know, I just don't feel like it. I need it more, we have all this cool new Spider-Man media and it's fallen by the wayside, so I'm changing Homecoming to an 8 out of 10 and breaking my personal rule by giving half of it to Far From Home. number in its score, I don't expect this to be common because I usually don't like to do it, so I give Toy Story 3 Far From Home a solid 8.5 out of 10.
