Game of Thrones - How to Ruin a Great Show

May 30, 2021
If you could describe the season finale of Game of Thrones in one word, how would you describe it as disappointing? Game of Thrones just ended and if we're being honest, it sucked despite what you might think when looking at the title of this video. I actually liked this

show

. I read the first book in high school, which I definitely shouldn't have allowed myself to do, then started the fourth book before realizing I was making a mistake, the books didn't really have numbers. back then and I was confused, but the point is, that was a long time ago and I could never have anticipated back then that these nerdy books would spawn the most popular

show

of all time.

I mean, it's so popular that Elmo even watches it. I think this show is definitely a step above other shows of this type. I mean, think about it, how many fantasy shows even come close to the quality of Game of Thrones, but the problem is that this show really dropped the ball like it really failed. Have you shot? your final scenes yet and are you happy with how things ended? This show was a victim of something. I always warn about bad writing. I talk about bad writing and like every video I've ever made and now we've all seen the end of this. show I hope you realize why writing is important because this show has pretty good acting, pretty good cinematography, incredibly impressive effects, moments of really fun editing and yet everyone is mad because the writing is bad and, Honestly, that's the only bad thing about this show, but it's so bad that it actually makes it hard to appreciate the rest of the stuff, you know how many movies our shows save by having good writing.

More Interesting Facts About,

game of thrones how to ruin a great show...

Hell, it's the only reason Woody Allen cuts a career short if you watch Game of Thrones from the beginning. In the end, it feels like everything that was important in the beginning is just thrown away, the show just morphs into something strange, the themes, a once important idea, now completely gone and replaced with more fantasy tropes. generics, something just doesn't feel right. I'm not the only one who thinks that anymore so let's take a look at why oh and by the way if it wasn't obvious now if you're a weirdo who's never seen Game of Thrones because you don't mind getting lost As for media milestones cultural, I will explain the general premise.
game of thrones how to ruin a great show
The story revolves around a group of families in the land of Westeros. Westeros is a fantasy land with dragons and magic, but dragons and magic are pretty rare. The aforementioned families are all fighting against one. another because it happens and the King dies and it is a series about political intrigue, realistic and complex characters and tits, however, most of these concepts disappear at the end of the series, in a way it stops being a show about political figures and characters that they used to get by. in their wit and creativity, but now it's just fighting, remember how I said magic and dragons were pretty weird, well not anymore, when the writers don't know what to do, we get magic, a dragon, or a fight, and sometimes we get all three at the same time. and that's because the writers aren't very good at writing this show and yes, I know that sounds a little strange, so I'm going to explain that the A Song of Ice and Fire series is written by George RR Martin and a good 80% of the show is adapted from these books and about 75% of that is actually good now the show itself is written by David Benioff and DB Weiss or a lot of people like to call them D&D now, for what it's worth they are pretty good at adapting this material . for the screen have a good way of eliminating unnecessary things, accentuating important elements that might not be immediately important and presenting them in a fresh and attractive way.

Now a lot of people are into these guys because of the last few seasons, but let's not forget that. The good thing is also partly their work, so if these guys are pretty good at adapting existing material, then what's the problem. Well, the problem is that around seasons 4 and 5 they ran out of books. Unfortunately for them, the books are not finished. signed on to do this show, they probably thought the series would be over by then, but then we all found out the hard way that George RR Martin is a little lazy, I mean, it's kind of hard to say that because you can't really understand it.
For the guy, the first three books have only two years between each of them and that's normal, it's a pretty fast pace, then there are five years between books three and four, then six years between books four and five and the Book five came out eight years ago. ago with no book six release in sight and there's still supposed to be a book after that now my personal theory has always been that Jorge knew he wasn't going to be able to finish the books in time for the show. so he decided to wait for the show to end, which is honestly the best marketing option, although I don't know if he really cares about that, I mean, think about it, what if the show was on season 6 long after they ended?
When he finished adapting the books directly, then he releases a book with completely different things, who is going to read it now when the show is still running. It would be confusing to consume two stories with the same name but different events, I think he knows that. that the show is the most popular thing of all time and if you release the book it's just unnecessary competition, it's better to just do the books after the hype for the show has died down a bit, but either way the point is that D&D ran out of books.
They had some George stuff but that's it, but outside of those few elements the show just had to start making it up and these guys aren't very good at that, once they started writing original content we got some of the worst plot lines. In the history of Game of Thrones, we also had some of the worst dialogues, not to mention that fight scenes also start appearing randomly to distract the viewer and fill time. Game of Thrones used to have like one fight per season if you were lucky, but in the last few seasons. It feels like the fights are just added for no reason.
Why doesn't he have a shirt? This whole scenario reminds me of Full Metal Alchemist, where the original anime ran out of manga to adapt, so they started inventing it and it got pretty weird. of Thrones followed the exact same path, except we don't have any books to show us what we're missing, but if you ask me, it's obvious, yeah, north of the wall and then back here again, he got on the dragon, no shit, what kind? of a person climbs onto a dragon, a madman, what kind of person climbs onto a, I mean, look at the whole Hodor reveal.
This is one of the last things that was based on material provided directly by George and it's as weird and cool and creative as Bran sends it. his mind goes back in time and as if time united Jung-ho's mind, then he simply damages his brain forever. I can't even explain it properly. It's so conceptual and weird that I know these fools didn't invent it themselves, unfortunately the show. they just stopped being creative once they had to do it themselves before it was a nuanced fantasy series that submerged your expectations in interesting ways. The main character of the first season is the traditional fantasy protagonist.
He is so fair and kind that he almost solves all problems. The series problems right away and he can't have that, so they kill him off. A trope inversion I've always loved is revenge and how the series approaches it in a traditional fantasy story. They were taught to root for motivated characters. out of revenge because we see it as justice, you know if you do something bad you should be punished for it, but A Song of Ice and Fire takes this and twists it. Vengeful characters are almost always punished, kill them all, every one of them, kill all of us.
We have to get the girls back and then we will kill them. Oh, they are usually blinded by their desire for revenge and most of the time they pay a high price for it. Arya's whole deal in previous seasons is about her wanting revenge on the people who

ruin

ed her life and it's a little childish, every character she interacts with tells her that her goal is stupid and not worth it and to stop Most of them are keys that will allow you to get rid of your old habits. and abandon the little quest for her, but then the writers forgot what they were doing with her and she becomes the Punisher.
She eventually learns to give up the search for her, but not because she is Petty and wrong, but because everyone she wanted to kill is already dead, everyone else is punished for revenge, but Arya emerges from her unscathed. In fact, almost all of the main characters are

ruin

ed by the end of this show. Personal stories are forgotten and become the standard version of themselves, it's like writers. They took the basic qualities of each character and used them for the rest of the show and decided they didn't want to write any more character arcs. I honestly can't think of a single character that has a good arc this season other than Theon the characters also become incredibly stupid I mean just listen to the writers explain why Danny couldn't see the fleet of pirate ships before to have his dragon taken down, while Danny forgot that they aren't a fleet and forgot about Euron's forces. yeah, all the characters are stupid, every single one of them, it's like they all lost like 20 IQ points these last two seasons, so let's go ahead and look at all the characters and how the writers improved them by the end of the program.
Daenerys Targaryen, okay. just get this girl out of the way early because most people are probably here to see me. Danny obviously suffers the most this season. She goes from a slightly petulant but confident young ruler to a megalomaniacal tyrant in just a few episodes, yes. A few episodes in now there are some people out there saying that her fall to the dark side of hers was an omen and these people are not right. Danny's fall to the dark side is more abrupt and jarring than Anakin Skywalker's and somehow she still has a higher body count than Him, Daenerys this whole arc has been about her proving she can break the cycles of the world.
You know, the name Chain Breaker is supposed to be literal and figurative. She wants to break the cycle of her family line. Her father and her brother were crazy. She works and she wants to prove that she can be a powerful ruler without being a tyrant. She knows that Westeros has been at war for a long time and that the people who rule the land have been corrupt and evil. She wants to show that the earth can prosper. Under the right person, she wants to end the cycle of suffering that everyone has been experiencing, yes, now they are totally excited.
I'll be honest, I never liked Daenerys, part of the reason I never finished the rest of the books is because I hate enjoyment. one chapter and then turn the page and see this, she is the most boring character to follow, but that doesn't mean I wanted her arc to be thrown in the dumpster, she goes from being a normal, confident and strong Daenerys in one episode to be a little sad about that. no one in Westeros is her friend - killing countless innocent people is a pretty drastic leap if we're being honest now, the current theory is that George told D&D that this is what would happen to Daenerys at the end of the story and honestly, I.
I agree with that, I think that is the case, but if that is the case, they should have known how to cultivate this Ark long before because as it is it comes out of nowhere, actions speak louder than words and Dany has always spoken a lot. but her actions are completely separate, threatening your enemies with fire and blood is very different from killing innocent people indiscriminately if your only example of her having a dark streak is her executing people who betray or disobey her. Well, I have news for you, every character. That in this world? John does it all the time.
The first lesson the series teaches us in the first episode is that if you are an authority figure, it is your responsibility to do what you have to do, even if that means carrying out an execution. This act is never shown as a bad thing in this series so no I don't accept it as a foreshadowing of her turning evil when at this point it's basically a social norm, yeah if you really really wanted to make her evil it's totally es The seeds may be there, but they haven't grown into anything convincing as far as we know, based on everything the show has shown us about her.
She has been nothing but kind and benevolent when it comes to innocent people. I also want to point out We found out that Stannis just killed an innocent child and all the viewers of the show hated him for it, he was seriously the most hated character on the show and yes this is the same show that has this child. I'm not tired, many people say. Oh well, since he came to Westeros, her friends have died and no one likes her.Okay, Arya has lost more family and friends than Daenerys and she's not a mass murderer. Well, in a way it is, but in a different way, these are some of the most blatant character assassinations I've ever seen on a TV show and it's no wonder why everyone immediately turned on the show after this moment.
It's not just because our main character is toasting women and children. We don't really care about that something. What's happening is disturbing, it's Game of Thrones, no one really cares about that, the problem is that we're told this is a genuine character arc when it really isn't. I can go ahead and fix most of these problems with one solution if you completely removed the surrender bells then the scene would make a little more sense, think about it, what if Daenerys was trying to take over the city but Cersei just Wouldn't he give up no matter what happened?
Cersei just wouldn't do it. So Daenerys has to make a decision: she can give up what she probably wouldn't do or just stay. Attacking the city, which would put innocent lives at risk, is a much more natural and reasonable solution than hearing that the entire city has surrendered and just decide to kill them anyway, but maybe it's good for people to see that Daenerys Stormborn did everything she could to avoid bloodshed. I'm a ghost who rides the crazy brand of the Stark whip Bran is probably the biggest example of wasted potential in the entire series. He becomes the most powerful being in the entire world, but all he does is sit back and make people feel bad about whatever personality he ever had.
Now they've removed it, which might be cool, but they don't really do anything with it. I honestly thought he was going to peak at the Battle of Winterfell because his story is completely tied up with the White Walkers, it serves no purpose. outside of that story, but even there he doesn't do anything, the writers don't want to get too weird so they just leave him alone because they aren't confident enough to write weird creatives revolving around him, they never use his abilities to Creatively, this is a guy who can see through all time and space and the writers have no idea what to do with him and know that randomly becoming king isn't exactly what I wanted either.
I was hoping for something a little more nuanced. After doing nothing for an entire season, being elected king feels a little anticlimactic. Remember that this is the ending that D&D was desperately rushing to get to and once you remember that it makes things seem a little boring, in fact the entire last episode feels that way. It doesn't really feel like the end at all, it really feels like they desperately want to get to this point and it doesn't feel earned, it just doesn't feel right, Jon Snow, so if we leave aside the fact that the writers have gone back to traditional fantasy tropes so we can say that Jon Snow is the hero of this story and the other seasons have also supported that idea and to be honest I think this is fine since the show has moved away from George . story Jon has had a bit of a hero's journey, but now he just stays making this face or this face, he also suffers from goofball syndrome like everyone else, for some reason half the characters completely lose their brains once they They know Daenerys and Jon understands it. the worst after having sex with her once, he loses all agency as a character and I should probably mention now that Jon and Daenerys' romance doesn't work since you probably noticed that this show moves too fast and this is a problem that these writers they write the ending and then the characters start switching places in order to get to that and this might work in a movie but in a slow paced series like Game of Thrones it doesn't work and that's why John and Danny doesn't work in the moment when they meet, they have romantic tension and this is in the penultimate season, these characters never met before they met and they fall in love within the span of a few episodes, not now, it's not. like they are looking at each other from the first scene, but as a viewer you immediately realize, oh yeah, Danny is going to go crazy and the events that unfold around him are things that depend on his romance, it's basically what further. violent love story on television that could be a

great

story, but there should be more to this story because John's purpose in this last season is, oh, my new girlfriend is kind of an idiot, he takes a very passive role in the last literal episode. and you know what really crumples my balls the fact that this series doesn't do anything with john's previous stories why john came back to life what the hell do they need him for was to kill daenerys his only purpose in the entire series but that It's not even the worst thing about this, the worst thing is that John, being the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna, reaches a dead end in the story, the only thing that results is that Dany gets angry about it, the possibilities of this thread of The history is infinite and the writers.
I make absolutely nothing of it and what really confuses me is that the only reason these guys got the job of adapting these books into a TV show is because they knew who John's parents really were before it was published in the books and he sort of erased them. His hands were clean on the napkin and he said then, who do you think Jon Snow is, his real mother? This was a test, it was a test, absolutely a test question, they predicted it back then, but they didn't do anything with it, jon. he has no importance to the story, has no interest in the events of the season and does nothing until the end and then the ship is asked to leave for good.
Jon's entire purpose in these later seasons was simply to kill Daenerys. Remember when? I said the writers wrote the ending first, do you believe me? Cersei Lannister. Cersei was one of my favorite characters in all of Cirie and then she became Lex Luthor before she had any subtlety to her character. She never really knew what she was planning. The important thing is that her objectives were always somewhat justified. The series has always prided itself on having characters who aren't strictly good or evil, and characters who are good or evil are punished even when Cersei or another character does something completely wrong.
I understand why, but that's until she becomes a Batman villain and bombs her own city, this comes out of nowhere and remembering it always makes me laugh. A lot of people like this scene and yes, it's cool, but I don't. I don't know, I don't really remember it fondly, on the one hand, I commend the writers for doing something completely crazy on their own, but on the other hand, it doesn't really fit with her character or the show once we get started. bombing cities in my medieval fantasy series I started mentally checking that she was always a subtle character and this is not subtle in the slightest instead of being cold and calculating Cersei just turns into a dumb bad guy and I must too Note that I really don't like it when characters just die from debris falling on top of them, it's 2019 and we're still dropping buildings on characters like we did with Captain Kirk and if you know me, I hate two types of deaths. in the media dying from debris falling on you and dying from falling into a pillar of fire Sandor Clegane now this one is a little short if you ask me, this guy has no reason to be on the show anymore, finally this show decided to start to bringing back characters simply for fanservice, what is he here for?
He decides to just join the good guys and keep fighting things. His character continues to exist solely because fans like him and that has never been how this series operates when a character's role in this story ends. They usually kill you or kick you out, yes the cleganebowl is a meme but that's not why I'm watching Game of Thrones, the final battle between the Hound and the Mountain is indicative and why I don't like it anymore This series, used to be very well written Drama about characters with deep and unseen motivations with a world rich in history, but now I'm watching a guy who came back to life fighting another guy who came back to life in a ruined Tower while a dragon runs amok on them.
This fight is so stupid that it feels like the fight between Wolverine and Sabretooth from the x-men origins, wait a minute, oh damn, you wrote that to Tyrion Lannister. Now I used to joke that good ol' Tyrone Lancaster was the main character on Game of Thrones and he's a character we can all relate to, he's resourceful and survives because he's smart, but then once he teams up with Daenerys he gets a dose of dum dum juice. His whole plan for two seasons is just to reason with Cersei and seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4 he constantly talks about how you can't reason with her, but now for some reason he thinks he can communicate with her, he tries three times and it never works buddy listen she hates you from her perspective you killed her mother and her father and her son and you ran away she will never listen to you and I don't understand why you think otherwise this is a series we are making mistakes it kills you The Red Wedding isn't just something random that happened for the Hell, Tyrion hasn't made a smart decision in almost four seasons, but he hasn't been punished once, in fact, he's rewarded.
He didn't even want him to die. He just wanted him to be smarter. Why is it like this? There's a lot to ask for, he's raising all the dead and they put the women and children in a crypt with all the dead, so you're in it he's smart, but he's not that smart, you're in Greyjoy, Euron is, honestly, the funniest character. Throughout the show the writers decided to just add another person to the story too late in the series and I can't even say he was ruined by the end of the series because everything about him started being stupid every time he was in a scene, he never I feel like he belongs there, he feels like a guy who just arrived on the set of another show.
Honestly, I think the writers realize they ran out of bad guys after killing the Boltons. His role is simply to extend Greyjoy's story a bit. a little more and give Jamie someone to fight before Brienne of Tarth dies Brienne is fine, in fact I think she is fine, I like Jaime Lannister, now this is personal. You see, Jamie was my favorite character on this entire show, he had so much depth. and subtlety of his character in the first seasons, the first thing he does is his sister and throws a boy out of a window, so you might immediately think okay, he's the villain, but no, that's not the case, that evaluation is completely intentional, the series loves you.
To think that he is the bad guy because even the entire universe treats him like a bad guy, they call him the Kingslayer and not in a nice way, him having killed the Mad King before the story started is seen as a slimy event in the history of the world, but if he hadn't killed the Mad King when he did, everyone would have died anyway, he knew he wouldn't really be remembered as a hero, but he did it because he knew it was the right thing to do, he murdered an evil dictator, but since he did it backwards in a way that everyone hates him, this is meant to play with our initial perception of him, his character is all about reputation, we see his first act pushing a little boy out of a window and we immediately draw a guess about him when in reality he's a guy who constantly puts himself in danger to protect other people the things i do for love is a line that can sum up his entire character he's okay with putting his own ass on the fire if it protects someone else does dishonorable things for the honor of his loved ones his altruism is self-destructive and tears him apart This is possibly one of the most complex characters in the entire series, but what does D&D do with this character long after it continues? a journey of self-discovery, Brienne, for no reason, then breaks his heart to go die with his abusive partner.
Awesome, one of the last things he does is beat Iran in a fight because, for some reason, the writers have decided to make the new arc of him. he is learning to fight again. Losing your sword hand is supposed to be important for other reasons and this is a problem also seen with the Hound. Now we have a show where character resolution is seen in combat scenes. that we end the character arcs instead of the character actually learning something or becoming a different person at the end, his entire arc up to this point has shown us that he is destined to leave Cersei for good, he is supposed to be undone about that life personally, I always thought. he was meant to kill her, that's a common theory for a lot of people, but no, he intentionally breaks the heart of someone he cares about and then the ceiling kills him.
Here's a line he has in his last episode and it's a line that should solidify the whole problem with his character, if not for yourself, if not more, and for every one of the millions of people in that city, innocent or not, forTo be honest, I never cared much about them, innocent or not, so you're telling me a man who sacrificed himself. his own honor in murdering the Mad King in an effort to save countless innocent people he doesn't care about the spent people who ordered them to kill his own father did you guys even watch the show?
Sansa Stark now Sansa was fine. I started writing this script. episode two and I didn't really have any problems with her up until that point honestly it's so easy to not let her be the strong independent woman but nope even she's inconsistent first of all she has this really bad moment where Hound says : Hey, I'm sorry that all these bad things have been happening to you and she says no, it's okay, I like that all the bad things have been happening to me because I'm a badass now, this really shows that these guys don't know. how to write about women because one of your main female characters just said yes I'm glad I was tortured and sexually assaulted it made me

great

so I would go back and do it all over again what happens then to top it all off?
Jon walks up to her and says, "Hey, this is the most personal secret I have." Ned Stark, your own father took this secret to the grave. Do not tell anybody. She tells everyone. Sansa, who spread Jon's secret, is what caused all of this, so yeah, go ahead. and defend her actions, but as far as I'm concerned, this is also her fault, Arya Stark and we finally have my least favorite character in the entire series, which is a little sad because I really liked Arya, now she's a brilliant example. What I don't like about what this series has become, she's the only character the rules don't apply to.
I'm watching all the main characters fighting and fighting for their lives and then there's a hard cut to this, so many people. I legitimately loved Arya and I. I feel like every time I complain about her because it's hard to argue these points without sounding like a bear, but I really don't think this superpowered version of her fits the story from the end of season 1 to season 2, she decides. I'm going to be a badass and I'm going to learn to fight and I'm going to kill people I don't like and that's just her character throughout the show, she just makes a decision and then the world supports that decision and then that's it. just what happens to her and I don't really like to use the term plot armor, but when I see her get stabbed in the stomach multiple times and then she just walks away, there's kind of a problem when King's Landing is being completely destroyed. and Arya is the only person who survives, then I start to see a problem: she teleports from one place to another, she doesn't care about anyone and she's too strong, she manages to sneak past all the zombies and all the Kings' generals Knights and then she just jumps on his ass and punches him, he dies faster than the mountain, they could have sent Arya to kill Cersei after this, there's no reason to believe Arya would have had any problem with that, she just snuck in to Aria in the city, let her dress up. herself as a maid or something and then just stab Cersei you guys have Batman on your payroll and you don't even care The problem with Arias' power level is that by all accounts the show should be aware of how strong which is her, but just acting like that is completely normal and on the other hand creates a disconnect, although once the series dives into Shitsville, I like her little mini story where she decides she doesn't like any of him anymore. what's happening. but to be honest this was in the last two episodes and I think I just needed something to hold on to so that's it, literally every main character on the show and they've all been ruined in one way or another, our conflict doesn't . they lie with an antagonistic force as much as our main heroes just don't agree with each other Sansa is angry at Daenerys because she just doesn't like Daenerys she's just angry at everyone she's sad because everyone is angry at each other all of these characters completely lose their sense of reason and at this point these people are only alive because they have cunning resistance, they are only here because they are smart but the show just forgot that they were so we have a merry group of idiots who have been leading the show for a few seasons and a lot of people watch season 7 when they mention how the show lost its charm.
Adult Swim even did a eulogy for the show after its climactic episode and for good reason, this is where the show really started to go down a path that it couldn't recover from in the climactic episode of season 7, the characters came up with the most stupid thing I've ever heard. The good guys know that the dumb ice zombies will come to kill everyone very soon, so they have to convince the evil Lex Luthor to help them in the battle, but she doesn't believe in zombies, so her genius plan is to go north, grab a zombie and bring it to him to show him that they are real.
The plan itself is so outrageous. It's stupid that at first I thought it was a joke. I'm not kidding, when characters mention it. I was hoping someone would say no, that's ridiculous, let's make up a real plan, but no, this is the only plan and everyone is on board. Follow it so everyone goes north to the most dangerous place they could go, they grab a zombie and all the main characters escape safely, but then once you get to the end of the show you realize that they don't even They had to actually do this because Cersei didn't really give a damn about the zombie anyway, at the end of the story they still have to fight Cersei.
When I watched this episode a couple years ago, I realized that this show had really lost its credibility, so when the finale came around. The season started, I was a little more critical than others. Episode 1 came out and it was a little slow and nothing really happened and everyone was like, hey man, it's the first episode, give it a break, then the Battle of Winterfell happens and other people start. Looking at the problems, the episode is very dark, you can't see what is happening. The main characters are somehow totally invincible and cannot die. The big bad dragon that blew a hole in the wall last season doesn't even prove to be one.
He's no longer a threat, he can't even melt the rock Jon Snow is hiding behind. Daenerys manages to destroy an entire city later in the season, but in this episode she can't really do anything against the zombies, she just can't beat them. You're telling me this wouldn't work on zombies. I mean, give me a break. Also, like last season, our main characters decide they're not done coming up with silly plans in the episode before the Battle of Winterfell, the characters decide. that their plan to defeat the night king is to leave him out in the open, lure the night king out and then they literally never say what the plan is which makes me not care what happens for an hour and a half because I knew it. everything was going to be fine anyway, i think we could live holy, i was right, the biggest threat in the series is killed by arya and i always thought the night king was going to be defeated by something a little less traditional, some people They were mad that Arya killed him because they wanted Jon Snow to do it and I really don't agree with that, the Night Kings shouldn't have been defeated by a normal person with a sword, if it was that easy then he probably would have been dead a long time ago time.
I personally wanted something more creative to happen. I thought Bran was going to do something weird or something he always says he should look at his face like he knows what's going to happen. I don't know. He was just waiting for something. Think about it. Why was it the night? king even in this story, what narrative purpose does it serve? Tell me one reason, one thing, they contributed to the end of this show. If you remove the White Walkers entirely from this final season, the last two episodes don't change at all. Now I know for a while.
The fact that George is going to do things at least a little differently, the White Walkers are the first thing you see in the entire series, both the book and the show start with ice zombies so I like to think they're pretty important , but as far as The show is concerned that they just had no idea what to do with them, we just rush past the biggest threat in the kingdom so we can skip to our main character turning evil and then rush her to get punished for it and then the program just ends. I didn't even feel like I watched the end of this show, it was so unsatisfying for me that this series has always been about breaking traditions or breaking cycles, like I said before the series itself is supposed to break fantasy story traditions by telling a story where a hero can die where you could find yourself rooting for people who do bad things in a series that pushes the idea that there are no good guys or bad guys.
Now we have characters who are obviously good and bad. People are already comparing this to the ending of Lost. missing button, each character had a fate that was satisfying and completed their arcs in a meaningful way and very soon there will be many think pieces about how this form of storytelling is great because it subverts your expectations and that's dumb, let's be real. That's stupid because there is a way to subvert your expectations in a clever way and this series has done it before, but now we're in a time where the writers think you're supposed to do the opposite of what you expect and it's not.
So. you're supposed to write a story, you know if you planned your book, the butler did it and then you read an intranet, someone found out that the butler did it and suddenly you switch midway and it was the waitress who did it. So you ruin the whole book, we hope to avoid the expected and Jon Snow has always been the hero of the one in the Savior, but it just didn't feel right for us for this moment, so if you watch this series and were disappointed like me. I guess you shouldn't get too upset because after all you have hundreds of pages of good stuff to enjoy.
I mean, that's what I'm going to do now and I'm sure that in a few years we'll have the official canonical ending and maybe ten years later we'll have a new series on a streaming service or something and it'll be called Ice Song and fire, the real adaptation will get our Game of Thrones Brotherhood and then this series will be seen as the weird fanfiction it is.
