Game Theory: The SCARY Crimes of the Minecraft Illagers

Jun 01, 2021
What are the Illah Jers doing in that dank, isolated mansion of theirs with its redstone prisons, elaborate altars, and hidden rooms housing strange obsidian structures? It really seems like they're up to something which is a quote from Marsh Davies, former creative director of communications at Mojang and his The introduction to the evocative mob when it was introduced in 2017 is a line that openly challenges us, tells us that there is something hidden within the walls of the Illah Jers forest mansion compound, that there is a mystery to solve in those dark forests, one that according to my research, has not been answered for all that time, now, three years later, I believe I have succeeded. .

I think I know what the illage are doing out there and, more importantly, I think I know what they're planning, let's say after today's video. You'll never watch Minecraft the same way again Hello Internet, welcome to Game Theory, the most bin jabal show on YouTube for all those moments when you find yourself inexplicably stuck inside with nothing else to do talking about bin jabal content for the duration. the last year. I've been looking for story nuggets to put together a massive overarching

theory

about the history of Minecraft. A link to all those theories right there in the top right corner of the screen.

game theory the scary crimes of the minecraft illagers...

I recommend starting with our review of Enderman and this one. covering the origins of the drowned civilization, that's the thing, although up until this point you as a viewer and, honestly, I, weren't sure if the Mojang team working on Minecraft had anything planned. I mean, don't get me wrong. I think we've done an incredible job piecing together the history of this

game

, from Enderman as the lost builders to the Drowned as a civilization rotting away from a massive flood, if the proof has been there in the

game

and yet the question remains how much? of this story was intentional versus how much of it was just me Theory building by piecing together random details to make a coherent story today, even though it's different.

I started this episode with that Marsh Davies quote for a reason that shows the developers were going for something hidden. There is a tradition around forest mansions, the illah Jers actually have something up their oversized sleeves this time, it's not just us analyzing things like we normally do, it's us gathering clues to solve a secret that has remained hidden in this game for years and maybe it's been for a good reason because if I'm right, the secret that the illah Jers are hiding takes this familiar game and turns it into a much darker world, we're talking about t14, at least I think that the illah Jers are kidnapping. v

illagers

and turn them into animals through some strange magic and that's not all.

I think they go one step further. They're doing these experiments to try to recreate us now, if you've never been to a forest mansion before. Don't know. Exactly I blame you, the chance of one spawning is extremely low as they only spawn in the rare dark forest biome and even then only if it meets a certain list of criteria and you are lucky to boot, that's why even with the maps you can buy. Since the cartographer v

illagers

, you may still have to walk for hours to find the nearest mansion, so it's pretty safe to say that these are some of the rarest structures in the game.
Upon entering the mansion, things seem pretty normal at first, then Hall is almost always the same. It has a nice red carpet, some stairs, and as you go further, you will likely see many normal looking rooms, some that look be dining halls, libraries, small mushroom and tree farms, but then you get to some of the strangest structures. jail cells a room with a large altar in the middle a room with a large fake map in the middle a room with a large fake end portal in the middle rooms dedicated to large wool statues of cats and chickens in the middle always in the medium is strange and let me be clear when I say fake and fake portals and maps, I mean it: these are not made of the typical variety of end portal frames and lava blocks or paper and compasses, they are made with wool, the Fake end portal rooms are filled with orange wool in the middle with a ring of green wool on top giving the appearance of a portal at the end of a fortress.
The map is made of carpet as are the numerous beds found throughout the mansion. more wool more carpet again it's weird, I say it in a lot of these episodes, but I think in this one it's hard to deny that the developers don't just put fake replicas of an end portal in the villains' hideout for fun, there's a reason why that these structures are here, but to understand why we first need to understand who the illah Jers are for those of you who don't know, illa jar is the classification of a group of hostile mobs in Minecraft united by the fact that they all share Similar characteristics to normal villagers, the illah Jers consist of the use of magic.
Ocher ax wielding Vindicator x' and crossbows launching raiders. There are also illusion bugs that don't appear naturally in the game and the Ravagers, which are just the big ugly beasts that the town rides during raids, those who look at that face are only facing a motherfucker. or I guess another villager Now it's important to note that illa Jura's appearance is arbitrary, they look exactly like villagers who need a tan, but that's a very intentional decision, it's not like Mojang has run out of ideas on how to create creatures. in this universe it couldn't seem like, the only story we know about these guys is that they are exiled, they were kicked out of the villagers' villages, they are outcasts according to the

minecraft

mob bestiary quote via Volkers, they are outcasts of friendly villages. who we know and love twisted by their practice of evil and again with the description of The Vindicator here we go as the Evo kurz.
The Vindicators were driven out of villages for their heinous activities and also wander the halls of creepy mansions in the woods that we don't know about. We know what they're trying to accomplish in the forest, but we have to be on our guard, end quote, so again they tease us with little bits of history. These are villagers who are committing heinous acts and were driven out of the cities just to lead the residents into the dark forest, but we have no idea what that all refers to, so we go back to the initial question, What were they doing in the forest mansions?
We have prisons and altars built by the illage, but what was it all for? Well, what if I told you that the first and yes, there are several, but the first atrocity is that the illah Jers are kidnapping normal, peaceful villagers and turning them into animals. Don't believe me, take a closer look at the Devastators I mentioned before, the beasts. that illage's journey into battle looks familiar to them, obviously they should have that distinctive nose that completely matches that of a normal villager, okay, that would just be an aesthetic choice, but what about the eyebrows? The Ravagers have a unibrow like any other villager that exists in Minecraft.
What makes that similarity stand out even more is that both The Vindicator and the Evoker, who we know are former villagers who were exiled, have to separate angry eyebrows that clearly differentiate them from all the other villagers in the game and yet , the Ravager shares the unibrow. that the villagers still possess and what's with those green eyes? Each villager has green eyes like the eyes of the Ravagers, so the facial features of the Ravagers are an exact copy of the facial features of a villager, but say they are a villager. It seems to be an extreme jump, right, until you hear this, it's one of the Ravagers' roars, it's this big

scary

beast that has a little honk, honk, honk at the end of its roar, a pig that sounds like the sounds that makes a villager. makes it so that when he's speaking, in fact, many of the Devastator's sound effects seem to have an undertone of honking.
Listen again to those growls, roars, honks are very clearly integrated into the sounds the Beast makes, suggesting that, along with the images, this was I was once a real villager, but for me the most important evidence does not come from the game itself, but from a tweet sent by Jem, creative director of Minecraft, what if the strange little details about the Ravagers were that when they were first introduced they were programmed to be afraid of rabbits, it was a cute little Easter egg to have a giant,

scary

beast suddenly run away from such a cute little animal.
The one who was first discovered, Jeb, who again bears repeating, is one of the main guys who control all of Minecraft Jeb. I answered this on Twitter. I asked Josh to remove this feature again, although funny being afraid of rabbits doesn't fit with beast lore and cool doesn't fit with lore. Ravager lore is literally non-existent in the Meet the Ravager blog post. nothing about how these characters fit into the story, the various Ares beasts and wikis, nothing about the history of these mobs, sure there are stories about how they were originally conceptualized, what they are based on, but nothing about the story as they fit into the story. the history. from Minecraft and yet apparently the Lord exists long enough that the rabbit that scares him somehow throws out that whole plot and I think I know why I think it's because they're made of villagers and villagers aren't afraid of rabbits or beasts that are turned by the illage nor should they be.
In short, I think that the prison cells and those sacrificial-looking altar objects in the forest mansions are used to gain ochers and capture the villagers of Vindicator to use them in their how they did it. the mafia bestiary put him into unspeakable activities, i.e. between magic and the axe, those two mafias should have practically everything they need to turn a villager into a giant beast, well, everything except the power over life and death, which would probably be useful if you're trying to create some sort of weird animal villager hybrid monstrosity. Oh wait, the Illah Jers have that ability too.
You see the Volkers have power over life and death considering they are the only source of immortality totems in the game. These totems are. special items that allow the wearer to escape death and that my friends are illage's true plan sir, they could be making beasts out of illa Jers, but I think that's just one component of their larger overall plan. I think that the unspeakable activities that Those Expelled from the Villages had in the first place, they are actually conducting experiments trying to harness the powers of life and death. They are literally playing God. I mean, they have totems of the immortal.
They are the only ones who have totems of the immortal. that these things work, I mean they certainly managed to keep us alive, plus we know that magic is a real thing in Minecraft, obviously in the game we can enchant weapons and armor using lapis lazuli, so Minecraft is arguing that lapis lazuli has some kind of mystical power now, this is not a totally new idea, humans dating back to ancient Sumeria also believed that Lapp had some kind of mystical quality, the Sumerians believed that lapis lazuli contained the souls of the gods, no, that seems Pretty damn.
It is relevant considering where lapis lazuli is hidden in the forest mansions. Well, it is not obvious that there is a block of lapis lazuli hidden in the center of the giant wool heads that decorate the entire building, implying that there is a close connection between Illah Jers and this magical stone. I mean, in the statues it's literally right where your brain should be right now. I can't emphasize enough how bad it would be to inject lapis lazuli into your head; There is almost a hundred percent chance of medical complications and a zero percent chance of you having magical powers and in the Minecraft universe it seems like the odds are a little more in your favor considering Evoque Kurz's magical powers.
Could all of these statues imply that the Volkers have lapis lazuli literally implanted in their skulls, thus giving them their magical ability? No, if that were the case, you'd expect them to have some chance of dropping a lapis lazuli shard or something. The fact that the lapis lazuli stone is in the middle of the statue's head implies that perhaps experiments with lapis lazuli and magic were another thing that attracted these villagers. expelled and become the exiled illah Jers, which brings us back to their experiments on life and death because this is what I don't think is limited to just the Ravagers.
I think there is something much more sinister and threatening going on in the forest. mansions that links all these clues and at the same time explains what happened to get the illah Jers expelled. In some rooms of the Woodland mansions there are piles and piles of blue and cyan wool. ThisWell, it sounds pretty mundane, but consider the specific color of this. blue and cyan wall are the same colors as steve's default clothes his cyan shirt is blue pants i mean there's really no other reason to have piles of blue and cyan yarns together in a room it's such a specific element in such a place specific set of two colors, I mean, surely in other parts of the forest mansion the image makers use blue wool sometimes as a rug to make beds or fake maps, they also use yellow and red wool for those same purposes and we don't see none of that in any of the rooms in the forest. mansion and yet we see rooms dedicated only to blue and cyan walls, they are specifically piles of Steve-colored wool.
The piles of colored wool Steve and zombie remind that this is the cult with at least some control over life and death and in the world of Minecraft we see snowmen built with two blocks of snow, we see iron golems made by creating an iron tea and then dropping a pumpkin head on top of that. We now have a cult of Ilage Arion statues in their homes and sometimes even in bed, lapis lazuli on it, so it's not too much of a stretch to think that maybe they could stack a blue and cyan wall, place a pumpkin on top and hope to create a new one.Steve, you see that's where things probably went horribly wrong in a volker using a totem of the immortal, he must have tried to make this piece of wool come to life only to create something twisted, something twisted and something hungry , the first zombie when the first zombies came out. and started biting the villagers, it's probably no surprise that the strange cultists who created it were banished from society and ended up settling great distances away in dark and mysterious mansions in the forest where they could continue their experiments in private and now those same cultists live in harmony with their creations the illah Jers now share their mansions with vines and skeletons and of course their own zombified creations, whether built with wool and skeletons, whether built with wool and corpses, so now we know why the illah Jers exist, what makes them fundamentally different from their villager cousins, and why the two populations were separated to begin with, are a big evil plot that has been alluded to by the development team as their inclusion in the game is create your own life, create your own version of Steve using a combination of wool and magic. but in the process he created zombies, they are like the L brothers from Minecraft who knew that it would take more than a few pieces of wool to create a human being and now everyone in the world of Minecraft has to pay a price and that my friends. the secret of the forest mansion, but hey, that's just a

theory

.
Oh, game theory, thanks for watching and, well, while you're here looking for things to binge on, since no, you're probably not at work or school, check out the other six episodes we have. made in

minecraft

story link is there on the screen as we speak. I tell you, each of these theories is incredible. There are some of my favorite theories that we have come up with on this channel. Minecraft is surprisingly rich in its history and there are a lot of things here that we could really look at to try to piece together the story, so check them out, let me know what you think and make sure to subscribe to the buttons on the screen for that too because you know that there will be more in this place.
It arose from the fact that we are getting closer to putting together that general theory. I don't know about you, but I can begin to see some important themes coming together in these theories and I think they all tell a story.
