The Minecraft Iceberg Explained

Jun 07, 2021
We have all played or at least heard of Minecraft, it is one of the most popular games of all time and has sold over 200 million copies, but even such a well-known franchise has its secrets, there are layers of the

iceberg

that most we will know. I Never See Today I want to take all my viewers on a journey down. I'm going to address the elephant in the room. This video was inspired by Mishkas' Super Mario 64

iceberg

video, however he has stated that he has no interest in making the Minecraft iceberg, so I decided I might as well do it.
the minecraft iceberg explained
Thank you very much for the concept and I love your channel. I'm going to use one of his ideas, which is the health meter for each theory I talk about about this health. The bar shows my confidence and its accuracy. One heart means that the theory is clearly proven false and becomes more and more likely as we go up until we reach 10 hearts where the theory is definitely true. One more thing, I'm not entirely sure where it is. The iceberg originated but I have included some references at the end of the video. I did not do it.
the minecraft iceberg explained

More Interesting Facts About,

the minecraft iceberg explained...

I'm just explaining it by leaving that out of the way. Let's dive beneath the waves and see how deep the Minecraft iceberg goes. Steve posting The post made by mojang steve was a meme that originated on 4chan in 2018 that had an uncomfortably realistic depiction of the main character steve

minecraft

. A user on the v board created a post trying to convince others that steve should be included in super smash bros ultimate from there. people posted various spin-offs, the theory is that some of Steve's posts were straight from Mojang, maybe to legitimately push Steve into Smash or maybe just for some obscure viral marketing, regardless I can't actually find no information that leads me to believe.
the minecraft iceberg explained
While this is true, however, given the anonymous nature of 4chan, it is certainly not impossible, Far Lands, Far Lands are a terrain generation bug that originally existed in previous versions of Minecraft, if a player wandered far enough away. from the spawn point, the world generation would go crazy. choppy columns and strange structures, there were several different variations that could be generated depending on the placement in the edition of the work which was removed with version 1.8 and 2011. However, a similar effect remains in the Bedrock edition, although the exact appearance of these Outlands is different than Java, Outlands holds an important place in Minecraft folklore and the overworld generation is rightly supposed to be similar to real life, so finding a place where all the rules would be broken that were generated naturally was clearly a point of discussion that fires the imagination to know that the faraway lands are always somewhere out there if you're just willing to walk long enough herobrine and notch's brother ah herobrine if you're a player like me who has been playing

minecraft

for a long time, the name itself should bring you We went back to an era where zombies dropped feathers and hunger didn't exist, it was a simpler time and yet with a game so Pure like Minecraft, I and many other players were haunted by a single image of a ghostly Steve with dead white eyes and accompanying text. posted on 4chan tells the story of someone who created a new world and occasionally caught a glimpse of the figure in the fog confused he went to the Minecraft forums only to have his posts deleted he received a message from a non-existent user named herobrine with just the word stop, The player was able to connect with other people who had watched herobrine and one of them revealed that he was supposedly the brother of Notch, the game's developer, the player emailed Notch asking if he had a brother.
the minecraft iceberg explained
His response, I do, but he is. I'm no longer with us. I could make a whole video about Herobrine and his place in Minecraft history, but others have done it better than I can. For now, I'll stick to the facts. First of all, Herobrine was never coded into any data version of Minecraft. The miners have been unable to find anything that matches the behaviors and textures of the story. Notch denies herobrine stating that there is no such thing as herobrine and that notch himself has no dead brothers, yet there are canonical references in quotes to herobrine in Minecraft in almost every major release changelog includes the removed Herobrine note for me, this is just a joke between the developers and the community, but who knows Mince Raft Mince Raft is a fun little easter egg included in the Java edition of Minecraft whenever the game starts there.
There is a 1 in 10,000 chance that the title screen will say Mince raft instead of Minecraft. It's very subtle, but it's definitely there. If you look, I wonder how many times I've wrapped mints and never realized it builds past 255. In Minecraft, every block. has a location of xyz coordinates, find any way to increase this limit without the use of mods, I'm not sure if this entry implies that it is possible or simply indicates that there is a vertical limit, regardless of the lack of example speaks for itself about this entity 303, this is another creepypasta about a disgruntled ex.
Mojang employee who hacked players' games and was going to destroy Minecraft Strictly speaking, this is not impossible, but I think the story takes advantage of people who don't really know what hacking is and are easily scared by computer jargon, Plus, 303 was supposedly going to ruin Minecraft by the end of 2014 or 2015. However, here we are discussing a game that is still wildly popular. I think of entity 303 as a bargain in Herobrine. It's a similar kind of idea, but without the intrigue and novelty that made Herobrine such a fascinating red dragon. The red dragon was a mob that Notch planned to add to Minecraft, it was meant to live in the overworld to balance out the ender dragon, however since Notch left Mojang the mob has yet to appear in standard versions in 2013, the developer said. bone dinner. which was never promised, we have no plans to add a red dragon at this time, a few months later he said that one day red dragons would be added, but not now, although that was over six years ago, so it seems to me that the dragons reds. are relegated to the list of scrapped features the nether reactor when minecraft pocket edition came out there was no way to access the nether, as a result the developers added the nether core block when the blocks were placed in a suitable configuration the nether core It could be activated by generating a Netherrack structure called the Nether spire that would drop items such as glowing quartz and melon seeds, as well as spawn pigments.
It was an interesting solution to the technical limitations of the mobile platform, but to me it's not much more than an oddity in Minecraft's The Tale of Creepers based on a real plant. The developers have described the vines as crunchy like dried leaves. I think this entry refers to the possibility that the vines were based on a real-world plant, not these vines, but rather a type of moss. called sphagnum or peat to spread its spores, releasing them in an explosion that propels them into the air. There is a game theory video that details this, but the gist is that vines do the same thing as moss when they explode their spores attach to a host who can then transport them great distances.
My personal opinion is that this theory is just a theory, a game theory. Sorry, the evidence for this being true is quite limited and doesn't seem likely to reach that level. I would think a lot about a mafia that was supposedly created by changing the height and length of a pig. Further ahead it is certainly possible and some would even say plausible that this is true. Ether is in the base game. Ether is a. mod from the alpha days of Minecraft that added a fantastic sky dimension with new mobs and dungeons elements. The aether mod was incredibly popular and introduced many people to modded Minecraft, including myself, however it was never incorporated into the base game.
I think this misconception arises. By the fact that a different sky dimension was planned at one point and actually had a limited implementation in the betas, yet was eventually scrapped, one could argue that the ending is the true realization of the aether dimension or from the sky, I think that is possible, but it is stylistically. so different that I'm not sure it was intended to replace the sky dimension, but rather it is a different dimension with some similarities. Minecraft includes several music discs for the player to find and which can be enjoyed using a jukebox, most of these are just electronic songs from the game's composer c418 and have titles such as cat or blocks, however, one of these records is different, it's jagged and broken and it's known simply as eleven, let's curl up by the fire and listen.
This album was deeply disturbing to me and many others. players when we first heard it, especially compared to the bright and upbeat melodies of the other discs, some people say this is an Enderman attack, but this is unlikely to be true since the audio existed in the game files at least 8 months before Enderman was added. What's going on? We need to go deeper. At the end of the album some strange, otherworldly sounds occur. We can analyze the audio file using a spectrogram. In the end we can barely distinguish several numbers. 12 is equal to c in hexadecimal, so it is spelled. c418 the game composer is a small easter egg, however, if we go back a few seconds an image of a vine appears, is this another easter egg or does it imply something else?
A Reddit user named dirtpiper came up with an idea that explains what's happening. pretty good it uses audio from another disc called 13 which has mostly ambient noises at 1 30 the sound cuts out for 11 seconds dirt piper suggests this is where disc 11 should be played combining discs 11 and 13 creates a story about a character in a caveman fleeing from a vine and barely surviving, you can read the details in his post, which I will link in the description, the two disks line up in such a convenient way that it's hard for me to see this as a silly coincidence, but the Disc 11 is another one of those rabbit holes where a lot is going on and no theory is bulletproof, it fits into the top tier of the iceberg.
Ruby Dung was a game created by Notch before he started working on Minecraft. We know it's a top-down isometric game. construction game, but only a few screenshots exist. Ruby Dung has a direct connection to Minecraft. The grass and cobblestone ground textures are the same. In fact, early versions of Minecraft had Ruby Dung's rd in the name, since Notch was initially modifying its source code Given this evidence, I think it's very likely that rubydonk was in fact a direct precursor to the empty beta servers of Minecraft. Minecraft. Multiplayer has been in Minecraft since pre-alpha versions. I have fond memories of playing on servers as a kid with my friends.
I even ran one for a while, however as time goes on in game updates people move on to new servers and different games, what about beta servers? Surely many of them close with a shrinking player base or update to new versions, but what about those? that's not it, there are old abandoned beta servers that have no players but still running liminal spaces that will always be empty, a ghost town of a once bustling city, honestly it's pretty hard to completely rule out certain people who own physically the server. It's unlikely that the hardware will ignore that you're running Minecraft, however, I could see someone using their parent's credit card to sign up for a remotely hosted server before forgetting about it, they never log back in despite that someone still pays for it every month, the world sits and always stays there, but never entered somewhere with some IP address, this server exists game mode 4 Minecraft has several game modes including survival, creative adventure and spectator , each of these alters the game fundamentally and serves different purposes, there is a console command that allows the player to change the mode.
This is accomplished by typing game mode bar followed by a number zero for survival, one for creative, and two for adventure. The viewer doesn't have a number, but it would be the number three, so where is the number four? Well, he doesn't have it. exists, I can't find any kind of story or discussion on what game mode 4 could be, so this is the best I can getI have, it's not real and it's not those mysterious news from the villagers, real broadcasts, the news from the villagers is a series of Minecraft animations by item animation. shows what a newscast would look like in a Minecraft village.
It's funny with the logic of the name and highlights the stupidity of the villagers. I think this entry is supposed to imply that these are actual streams from Minecraft villagers. I'm not sure but it's obvious that this theory doesn't have much to offer if the skeletons are dead steves this is another one from matpat the idea revolves around the ancient people who built the nether fortresses apparently when they were buried the netherrack sucked out the souls of They creating soul sand and leaving the withered skeleton behind, therefore, the withered skeletons that protect the lower fortresses are the remains of the people who built them.
It would also explain why chests in fortresses have overworld items like diamonds and iron. I think this is somewhat plausible. It's certainly a convenient explanation for why the Withered Skeletons are in the Nether Fortresses, but it doesn't explain why that's the only place where they generate soul sand that can be found in the entire Nether World, implying that the Withered Skeletons are too. They should exist everywhere but I think this theory has some secret start menu of merit, I'm not quite sure what this refers to, there have been several versions of the launcher and if you run the current version in compatibility mode for Windows 95 it appears one of the older versions, the only other thing it might be is an easter egg in older versions that would show a creeper face or a shrugging emoji that you've clicked on, but neither of these are actually a menu. this doesn't have much to offer the cave setting occurs in real life minecraft has all these creepy noises that play when you descend into a cave there are theories comparing each of them, including a particularly obtuse one that says steve is in a coma a mine cart accident and the entire game is played out in your head in terms of real-life cave noises.
I can't find much about it. Paw Bob is a developer Pobob is a player on the legendary 2b2t anarchy server that has been around since almost In the beginning, he helped the server administrator by writing a plugin that prevented people from getting stuck in the lower roof. Conveniently, that add-on also included a back door that allowed infinite items to fly and teleport for Pop Bob and all of his friends they created. An appropriately named base called Plugin Down had several other clever exploits, including developing hacking software and using lightning sound data to identify fragments with active players.
The theory states that pabop is actually the undercover Minecraft developer. It might make sense given the depth of knowledge of him. of the game's inner workings and his ability to exploit them, but he could also just be a Java developer who knows how to find vulnerabilities. The theory is possible, but I wouldn't say it's likely a fake multiplayer mode. I can't find much for this one. Some mobile devices. Games are known to have fake multiplayer, but this is clearly not the case with a game as advanced as Minecraft. Super secret setup. Previous versions of Minecraft included a super secret settings button in the options menu.
When selected, it cycled through several built-in shaders. it was removed by version 1.9 the moon is alive the only thing i could find in this is actually the opposite which is that the sun is dead when minecraft changes from day to night the sun, moon and stars move together, which is contrary to how it works in real life on earth youtuber spumwak has a theory that says the only way for this to happen is if the moon, sun and all the stars are orbiting the world of minecraft, supposedly a Civilization in the distant future detonated its former home and turned it into a star before passing into the brown dwarf that was its dead sun.
I think this just doesn't make sense with the context of the rest of the game, but astronomy in Minecraft is certainly a bit strange. Hidden achievements. Minecraft actually has some achievements that are only visible once you get them, How We Got Here requires the player to have no less than 26 different status effects at the same time, it's incredibly challenging and unlikely that anyone will stumble upon this by accident. , Village and Pillage update 1.14 added a second hidden achievement called Ballistics where the player needs to kill five unique mobs with one crossbow shot. Steve's spawn egg. Spawn eggs are used in creative mode to spawn mobs on command.
This refers to a theoretical egg that could spawn Steve. Actually, it is not like that. exist in the game, it is interesting to note, however, that at one time humans could spawn naturally in the world, in fact, they were the first mobs added to Minecraft. If there were eggs spawned at that time, then there probably would have been a human spawned egg. I think this is similar to empty beta servers, but somehow less interesting, there are countless Minecraft accounts that are not actively used. There's not much more to say here. Mojang bought Microsoft. This one is clearly making a joke about the fact that Microsoft acquired Mojang in 2014.
For $2.5 billion it's inconceivable that somehow the opposite would happen. The vines were intentional. I alluded earlier to the story that Notch came up with the idea for a vine when he accidentally overturned the length and height of a pig. Well, I mean, the vines were a mistake I defined. and I accidentally made them tall instead of trunks, so it was like a tall thing with four little feet and that became the vine. It was supposed to be a pig. The theory goes that this story is false and that notch actually designed the vine on purpose. He looks at the way he does it, this is something you can't prove in any way, you can choose to accept his word or not.
I see no reason for you to lie about this Block ID one one one Every block and item in Minecraft has an ID number that differentiates it from the others, for example stone is one, grass is two, etc. the highest number is 453 before a jump to two, two, five, six for music discs, it is possible that this is an indirect reference to disc 11, which is I have mentioned before that the only other thing it could be is the block 111, which is the lily pad in previous versions, were famous for causing ships to break at the slightest touch, so maybe that's real.
The nether portal thinkgeek released an April Fools' video showing a working USB. nether portal beyond that I just don't know what this mk ultra servers are talking about during the cold war the cia had a program called mk-ultra whose goal was to develop drugs and other methods of forcing confessions through mind control, although the program was Closed in the 70s, this theory claims that mk-ultra still exists in the form of Minecraft servers. I can't believe I just read that sentence out loud. Okay, it's not strictly impossible, but come on, actually f5 second person view pressing f5 switches the camera between first person.
The third person from the back and the third person from the front see the first person seeing the world as the character and the third person seeing the world outside of the character. It's harder to think of in the second person, but it would be seeing your character from another's perspective. character, the only way this works is if we think of ourselves as in the game world, looking at them from our own perspective, but that doesn't work in the first and third person context, rana is alex, a lot of people don't know that , but there were several humanoid mobs in the game during part of the deep phase in late 2009-2010, these include Beast Boy, Steve Black, Steve and Frog different.
They were all developed by a person known as Doc, however the Doctor's art style did not quite match. the rest of the game and the mobs from it were quickly eliminated. Rana in particular lasted from December 23, 2009 to February 5, 2010, which was by far the longest of the quartet. Eventually, Steve became the player look we know and love today. It's not crazy to think. that frog eventually became alex since she was the only girl among the doctor's characters and lasted much longer than anyone else. I think the plausible strengths of this one are generated using real construction plans.
Fortresses have rooms that could exist in real life, such as libraries, prison cells and staircases, each fortress is generated differently from this set of rooms and other components, so no particular fortress is specifically coded into the game. , so this entry is simply not a true mod made by terrorists, yes this is possible, I'm sure some terrorists somewhere have made a minecraft mod I can't find any specific examples but it's probably happened at least once when changing a pig's name to mojeng. There are some Easter eggs that are activated by renaming certain animals to specific names, for example naming a Jeb sheep causes it to change color. and naming any mafia dinner bone turns it upside down, however there is no such effect when naming a pig mojeng the dr. treyarus is a real doctor dr. they have a lot to do with the base game of minecraft coldplay copied fallen kingdom fallen kingdom is a captain shines parody of viva la vieta by coldplay coldplay version came out in 2008 fallen kingdom in 2012. this is just a joke under the tail jeb's ponytail jeb is one of the main designers of mojang, who is famous for his long hair, i can't find any conspiracy theories about his ponytail.
The Simpsons skin pack controversy. Mojang released the Simpsons skin pack for the Xbox version in 2015. The biggest controversy I could find is that the skins don't have the blocky Minecraft style of other characters, there are too many details in their models and they don't fit together properly. all with the beta villagers. Villagers first appeared in the game in 2011 with the pre-release beta 1.9 as they were initially called. testifies that although that nickname only lasted a week or so, they didn't do anything in the beta besides live in villages and actually had the same AI as the pigs, there really isn't much interesting here, but I'm sure a lot of people found it. has forgotten. used to have a different name, skins that can be created, this one is simply not possible, although the player's skin can be easily changed outside of the game environment, signals generated by the world, there are actually some cases where signals They spawn naturally, the first place is in the basement of an igloo where the arrows point to the jail cells, they can also appear in the houses of the Tiger Village as part of a chair, although none of these contain text particularly interesting. void entities, the void exists beneath the bedrock in negative and values, interestingly, the ender dragon takes no damage in the void so it would be the only entity that can exist at any value and origins of the skybox in the skybox is a field of slightly purple static that keeps with the endermen theme beyond that, I don't know where it comes from maybe there is a story that I can't find pac.png this one is really interesting and has a fascinating story.
The default Minecraft server screen has a small image called pac.png which is a fairly standard image of a Minecraft world that has existed in the game since alpha 1.2.2 released on November 10, 2010. The youtuber sal c 1 He began to wonder where this image came from and described in a video how he found no information during his initial searches, so early on a collaborative movement was created to search for pac.png. In 2020, hundreds of people contributed from enhancing the original image using artificial intelligence to determining the location of the fragment using cloud cover. The process was fascinating and I don't expect to cover it in detail here.
I will leave a link to sal c1's video describing how it worked in September 2020 the search was completed and the world seed and pac.png location was finally found. It is a testament to the dedication and ingenuity of the Minecraft community that this was achieved and one of the clues to the Great Minecraft Mysteries Pocket Edition was solved. There have been some mobile apps that track users for advertising purposes, but Minecraft Pocket Edition is not one of them. Minecraft Earth, on the other hand, Steve's old wounded sound was authentic. Previous versions of Minecraft had a different sound for when the player was injured.
However, this was changed in 2011 with the release of version 1.0 because the player was no longer necessarily a man. This iceberg entry says that the ancient sound of pain was authentic, made by someone who was really hurt. SoundThe original was from freesound.org and was not created by mojing. This is another one that's hard to prove either way, but it's at least possible that the Bible predicted that Minecraft doesn't Reuben live in Minecraft's story mode. Ruben is a smart pig Jesse, one of the main characters of episode four, takes a big fall while saving Jesse later. When he dies by dropping a single pork chop, I found some wild theories about Ruben still being alive, but they were all published before episode 5.
This also has nothing to do with the base game, so I'll move on to the hidden enchantment table. This language actually has some truth to it. The enchanting table runes are part of the standard galactic alphabet which is from the Commander Keen video game series released in the 90s. This alphabet can easily be converted to the Latin alphabet in the enchanting table. runes selects random words from a list of songs, although there is no connection between the word and the incantation, some of these words are craft in nature, but unfortunately there is no deeper connection. Enderman's spectator console commands allow players to switch to spectator mode where they can view the world. any other mob's perspective if you do this on an enderman the colors are inverted implying that this is how they see the world.
Some other mobs have special shaders, in addition to vines and spiders. Captain shines blackmail. I can't find anything on this captain shines he is a minecraft youtuber but I see no evidence that he was blackmailed. but the texture of soul sand quite clearly represents screaming faces or ghosts. The texture was actually changed a few years ago to make it more obvious. This could align with the theory I mentioned that soul sand actually contains souls or it could just be a texture. That's designed to look cool either way it exists in the game. The Evoker chants are real cult recordings.
I think this is unlikely because there is only one evocator audio file that doesn't sound like a villager, which is the enchanting spell preparation, it's possible that this is from actual cult members, but since there is only one reasonable candidate, It would have been a lot more work than it would have been worth to get real cultists. Someone is in the game files, who is in the game files, player data is stored in the game files, maybe. this is a reference to herobrine or entity 303. I don't know, the nether is an accurate description of hell. At one point, the nether biome ID was Hell and Notch has specifically referred to it as the Hell World.
The lower one has many similarities. to the traditional Jewish and Christian hell a lake of fire a place of death and brimstone I'm not sure I'd say the nether is an accurate description of hell after all the point of hell is that you can't leave I think we can definitely conclude that the Nether was inspired by hell, even if it's not an exact replica of Quiet 4 Hidden Frequencies column4.ogg is a music track that existed in Minecraft for only 10 days since alpha 1.1.1. to alpha 1.1.2 in September 2010. the track was created by notch himself at about 1 36 in the song there is a slower version of someone saying mojang specs it is not really known what this means but it was in the game at one point, minecon Minecraft 2008 didn't exist until 2009 and the first minecon was in 2010 so I don't know what it is about.
Chicken Ai Microsoft once hosted the Marlow 2018 competition, which stood for multi-agent reinforcement learning in Minecraft, involving participants developing AI software. that you will be trained to perform various tasks in Minecraft, as far as I can tell nothing major came of this and really your software is outside of Minecraft rather than in the game's secret commands. Minecraft has several key commands that are not normally used under normal conditions. Gameplay, most of these relate to the debug menu except with f3 you can see them all by pressing f3 and q some highlights include reloading all shards, detailed item descriptions, hitboxes and causing the game to crash.
There are no secret console commands that I can find. Based on failed Siberian modification experiments, this might be the spiciest entry in the entire iceberg, but unfortunately it appears to be completely made up. The dimension of the secret hell of the innocent. 2020's Snapshot of April Fools added a great feature that allowed players to create virtually infinite custom dimensions. either throw a signed book into the nether portal or use the slash warp command with a dimension name. Most of these dimensions were randomly generated but there were a few that were hardcoded such as the sponge which creates a giant menger sponge fractal and the fleet which generates an infinite fleet of interns unfortunately hell is not on this list and although it generates one dimension is random with no special properties secret room in Notch's mansion in 2014 Notch bought a $70 million mansion in Beverly Hills after selling Minecraft to Microsoft. a candy room, but as for the secret rooms, we will never know that cobalt is minecraft 2. cobalt is a game released by oxide game studios and was published by mojang in 2016. it is a 2d platform shooter game in which you have to come up with something really crazy to convince anyone that this is Minecraft 2.
The Vindicators are building a Steve. This is yet another theory from Matpat. It involves the mysterious actions of the villagers in their forest mansions. It is known that they are banished villagers, but why does the theory claim that villagers are kidnapping villagers? and turning them into ravagers by using their dark magic more so that the villagers have at least some control over life and death, as evidenced by their immortality totems. The mansions have inexplicable rooms of light blue and cyan wool that Matpat connects to the colors of Steve's clothes. he says that the townspeople tried to create a living Steve but failed, resulting in zombies.
I think Matpat has a good case for this. I would recommend you watch the full video to get the details, but I don't think this theory requires too much. leaps of faith brown bricks okay even in an iceberg video there are some things that should stay underwater investigate this at your own risk the true meaning of dedicated wham there is a video of a kid at minecon 2013 asking the panelists how much dedicated wham to add to a server, I was wondering what is the recommended amount of dedicated wham I should have for the server. Sorry, could you repeat your dedicated lamb to a server if you want to offer something, he was apparently trying to say.
Dedicated Ram, you know, there's no deeper meaning to this, it was just a kid who made a mistake. Don't watch the Minecraft post-credits scene and with that we have reached the maximum depths of the Minecraft iceberg thanks to everyone who stayed, I know. The video is a little different than the videos I normally make. Let me know if you thought about it in the comments. Are there things in the iceberg that I got wrong? There are also some things I wish had been added to the iceberg, but I'll save those for another video, a lot of sources were used as you can see, and I appreciate everyone who had the creativity to come up with these theories once again.
Thanks to Mishkas for the video idea. This has been retrogaming. Now explore the Minecraft iceberg. Thanks for watching. and have a good day
