. And it was stage three the first time. And the tumor was the size of an orange. I don't even understand that. Yes me neither. But... I mean, the size of an orange... what were the symptoms you had up to that point? That's right: the migraines were the most prominent or the ones I had had the most.
He had blurred vision. And then when I slept, I would sometimes lie on the side of my head. And when I could hear like a seashell noise because of the liquid that was swimming in my brain and not going in the right direction, yeah. Wow. So you said maybe I should see a doctor. Maybe I should go get this checked out. Yes. And it wasn't really me. It was my dad who said... because I was young and my dad told me: are you going to go to the doctor? I said no, I'm fine. He said, you should go.
And so I went. And they said, you know, have you had any symptoms? And I told them. And they said, well, let's do an MRI. And they came back and told me it's an orange in your brain. Wow. Yes. Okay, then get rid of it. Yes. And then you'll be clean for... Six years. Six years. Six years. Annual scans every...between July and October, I got scanned. And at six years old he was perfectly healthy. So there are no symptoms. None. And then you go for a routine checkup and they find another one... How big was this one?
About the size of a half dollar. About this big. But it was in the same place where I got my first one. So from October 10th until, I want to say, a week before the surgery, Ray and I were at the doctor's office three or four times a week, getting MRIs, scans, and blood tests. You had to wear the device for three days. I had to wear this wonderful... Headdress. --headpiece that had, like, this wonderful little Balenciaga bag that came with it. Yes, Ok! That watched me all day. It monitored my brain waves. He monitored me while I slept to see if I had seizures or any irregular brain activity.
Luckily, thank God, I wasn't. So luckily I just had the brain tumor and that was it. So... So that doesn't exist anymore. The brain tumor has disappeared. And we started cancer treatment in about two weeks: first radiation and then chemotherapy after radiation. Then it's okay. Yes. Well, you're going to beat this because you have an amazing attitude. Absolutely. And you have to do it. Let's take a break. More after this. We were talking during the break. And I said you would be an inspiration to so many people because it's one thing to be diagnosed once. And it's already difficult enough.
