Dollar Tree DIY Cross Wreath for Easter

Feb 27, 2020
Hello everyone, welcome back to my craft drone, if you are new to my craft room, welcome back today. I finally get a chance to work on my

cross

wreath

. I just found these frames, it was last week before I looked for them. Everyone kept showing them in their aisles but I couldn't find them at Dollar Tree so they finally got them and now they have a ton of them so I hope you can find them wherever you are so we picked one of these up. It's simply called reform and it is a very pretty

cross

and I will do it with the purple and white mesh.

I could make them any color you want, but I had a bunch of leftovers I wanted to use and I thought purple. It looks really pretty for an Easter cross, so I'll use these two colors. I picked up this little sign at the Dollar Tree and I'm going to take it out. I don't want the egg part, I'm just the shiny part. I'm going to take this off and make another hole here and I want to put this in the center of my

wreath

so that it's a little bit here for now and I have some of this really pretty purple sparkly ribbon that I bought from the Dollar Tree and this is a ribbon of wire and it measures 2 and 1/2 inches wide by 3 yards so that will be enough for this and then I think I might add some of these little tufts too, they are so pretty.

More Interesting Facts About,

dollar tree diy cross wreath for easter...

I was going to use some daffodils. Don't know. I don't think I want them there. I think I'll just use them here and then you'll need some pipe cleaners and of course I have a whole pack. of pipe cleaners somewhere that people one of my subscribers actually sent me. I have no idea what I did with them. I looked everywhere, so for mine I'm just going to use these gold pipe cleaners, a

dollar

tree

, not really. It doesn't matter, except that you will see them on the back but you won't see them on the front at all, so it doesn't really matter what color you have, but I hope you can get the right color pipe cleaners for your wreath.

Anyway, for all of these you will need. I'm not sure exactly. I've never done this before, so I'll have to tell you as we go how many pipe cleaners and how much mesh. how many metals will you need because I'm not sure I've made one of these before but for all your pipe cleaners you'll just take your long pipe cleaner and fold it in half or anyone who hasn't done this before and just grab a couple of old wire cutters from my husband that I stole from him and just cut them in half and then you'll want to fold them all in half again and that's what you'll have and it's nice to have them ready ahead of time so I usually cut them all up and make them in a little pile here to have them ready now.

Generally what I do is take my mesh and cut each one. um six inches wide and I cut them six inches long so it's like a square and then when I usually make my other round wreath, I usually start with one like this, so I had the nice little dot sticking out, but for this one I'm not going to do that because I think it's just going to alter the shape of the cross so I don't want to do that so I'm just going to take my purple and white and I'm going to wrap them around with a little clip and I always use a little hair clip just to keep it in place, but you can't hold it between your fingers, but after a while, holding it between your fingers, your fingers don't want to do it anymore and this mushroom, the Dollar Tree, does.
It frays a little bit, but like I always tell everyone, once you finish it and trim it, it doesn't fray anymore, so you just want to wait until you're done before you trim any loose ends because I'm going to turn it around and things to add. your decorations too. I just roll them into these little tubes like this one and usually use them for this one. I'm going to try three because I don't want this to be too much. too big, so I'm going to start this one with two white ones and one purple one and then you just put your little pipe cleaner in the center, fold it over so it's nice and even, give it a couple of good twists and that's what you end up with.
Keep going and like I said, once all of these are there, you won't see the pipe cleaners at all. I hope that's okay, so the next one I'm going to do, I'm going to start with the purple one, we're going to do two purple ones. white one and this purple one is really scary here we go, just make a white one in the middle. I'm going to make a couple of these to show anyone who's new here and then I'll put them on my wreath and then we'll come back and decorate it. I'm not going to lie, this takes a long time, it takes quite a while, it takes a good hour, so just roll all your mesh packets up tight so that this one has the two purple ones and then all you're going to do is take your shape and I'm going Let's start by saying this is why I can't judge how many I'm going to use because these are all different sizes, as are all round ones. kind of the same and I think I put like 10 between each one, but this one, you know, it's smaller down here and it's a little bit bigger towards the top, so I'm not really sure how many it will take for everyone.
What you need to do is take the two center pieces of the frame, simply place the pipe cleaners around them and give them a few turns. I usually turn it like three or four times, now we'll just slide it down and then did the next one. Same thing, put it over those two, that's what I said, you're going to put a lot of thought into this so you don't even want to worry about the fraying until you're done, okay, whoops, get in there, it's like that and that's how it is. all you have to do and then continue here and I'll have this really really pretty rolled wreath or cross wreath when we're done so let me move on.
I'll add a little more here and figure it out. how much is going to happen between each one and then I'll come back and we can decorate this, all right, everyone, I have all of these here now, in fact, in each section, I thought it would require a different amount, but actually eight. The packs of all three fit perfectly into each section here and of course I have my lovely gold pipe cleaners because you know I still have no idea where those others are, but from the front you can't see them at all so that's not really there.
It doesn't matter, but each section took eight, so you'll need 48 three-packs to put in here and it took three rolls of each color, it took three rolls of white mesh and three rolls of purple mesh to fill this up nicely and I didn't use the three, but most of it, so now I want to make a bun. I'm going to put a bow here right in the center so you know the watch is just going to make my little trap bows, so I cut two pieces of the ribbon 24 inches long and I'm going to fold them in half and make my little fold. here and then I just glue them all together, just a little bit of glue here, fold one side over and got another little bit. of glue here and fold over the other side and I'm going to do this on both sides using the high temperature glue.
You might not want to do this with your fingers, but I have a cool template and it's okay, take the other one and hold it. halfway through, these are really quick and easy, I don't know, I mean people make them different ways or if you're lucky enough to have a small bow maker, that's cool too, but I'm not the best at making bows and that. it's the simplest and easiest way I found to make them where they fit nice and even nice, so they're our two, so I just put them here like a little bit of X glue on my fingers and then I just squished them together. a little bit and then I have a little piece here, where did it go? that I cut, they don't stick here around the center now, before I stick this on the back, I have a piece of wire that I cut, this is a piece of floral wire, you can get rolls of this at Dollar Tree and I'm going to go back to put it here and this is how I'm going to attach it to the wreath, so I'm just going to wrap it around a couple of times. like this and then you just stick it on the back and no one will ever know the email, it will cheat and then you have the wire back there so you can clip it to your wreath and then this will look a lot better, trust me, right?
It looks like nothing now but it will be fine once we put it in there and straighten it all out so now I want this one to have a little tail so I cut two more pieces and cut them to 14 inches long and then I just followed them together and I snuggled up. We made a little V at the bottom to make them a little sleek. I'm going to glue these two together to see how I want them. Actually, yeah, I think it looks good. I'm just going to take these like this and I'm going to glue them together, so hold it down.
I'm just going to add a little bit of glue here and stick it to the back of my go. I'm going to throw, you have this and them. he sent me given I don't know here we go so it's going to look like this good so now we grab my reef here he tried to stack my camera so you guys can see it from below sorry I just swung them all over the place I hope no one got dizzy from that. You're on motorcycles today. Well, now you just have to decide where you want to put it.
I want mine right in the center here, so I'll find my frame. Stick this over there, we'll see. in the center here and they throw me on this side. I think the first thing I need to do is find a place to hang out once you get all this here. Everything worked out pretty well, so I won't do these super shots. I don't want to squish the bow, just twist it a little bit, cut it and do that and then make sure you get the wires in because I want to get a good puncture, so that's the bow.
I'm not going to fix that yet because now I want to figure out where exactly I want my little egg to go, so this already had a hole in the top where it was hanging from. I just cut that little tape and then with a drill I just made a little hole here. I have this cute little dremel. I don't even have a drill, it's just a dremel with a little drill bit and I use it for all kinds of things, but if you don't have that, you can always just hot glue, you know, like a pipe cleaner on the back, just put a Lots of hot glue there and put it that way, but I want to put it here under the arch so these two come out the back, yeah.
Passing by here is no joke after all these Harlan here dance, one made them throw things right there. I think that's good. Wow, something is happening. We live on an emergency route, so when there is an emergency, all you hear are sirens flying down the s

tree

t. It's the season here, I swear, luckily that doesn't happen very often, but of course, while I'm making my video, okay, I'm going to pause this because now a big heavy fire truck is coming, okay, I think they've gone all. now anyway, as they were passing by, I just ran my wire through my mesh there, so I put the bottom of this little egg.
I hate hearing sirens like that when it's so long outside and you know everyone is outside, it's always like that. lots of accents and things right, there's our cute little pig that I want to incorporate before I fix my hair in the bun, oh my God, here comes something else, hey, this is fun, this is very exciting. I'm going to pause them just to save your eardrums from this. Fire truck is fine, I think they are all gone. I have about five different trucks, there are some heavy trucks, every fire truck and rescue truck I think we have here in the township, so I don't know what's going on, but it doesn't sound right and I was looking around and I found this nice one. butterfly.
I think I'm going to put it here too just to cover up my hole here in my little sign, I'm just going to clip it onto the tail of this bow. and that will cover that's cute and there's all kinds of cute little things here with the yellow and things that I thought would be cool, so I want to incorporate these little flowers here and I think I'm just going to Put these on, they left them on. I just cut them out, maybe with a little three inch tail here and I'm going to hot glue them behind this sign, if you want, you can go ahead and wire them all up, but these.
They're very lightweight and I think they'll be fine back here, so we'll add a little bit of hot glue to the stem. I'll hold it right behind this sign. I don't want to put too many. flowers on I don't want to take too much away from the cross and I'm going to straighten this bow a little more because I think that takes away from the shape of the whole thing, but once I hang it I will. I'll be able to see it a little better, so I'll go over here on this side. I'm just going to hold this up and put some hot glue here, hopefully not on my finger, just stick them right on the back of this. firm them well once the dryer cools down so you can then bend them however you want, so I think that's all I'm going to put on this pretty wreath, the only other thing I forgot to do is I need to get another pipe cleaner just to clip on the back here somewhere to UM hang this I didn't do that let me turn this around real quick I really wish I knew what I do with my pipe cleaners, which of course is all I have left now our green pipe cleaners, is okay, so let's make this a little short so you can't see it when it's hanging.
Luckily this won't be on a glass door because all I did was fold it in half and then just hook it around the top here to hang it. I want it to last a long time, I have to hide it behind here so I don't see my green pipe cleaners, okay, cut the abuse off the end, okay? And that's just a little loop I made back here, so let me hang this, arrange my bow the way I want and then we can really see how it turned out. I think it's very cute, I love it and now.
You know, after you've done all this, go ahead and trim off the little frayed ends and it won't fry anymore. I've had my other wreaths outside with the wind and everything, and they really aren't that good. Let me clean this up, we'll hang it up and see how it turned out, okay, everyone there, it's hanging on my wall. I actually took this out and hung it on a door, behind the door, um, I like it, I think. It's really pretty, I love the purples and I love these fun little images. I think they are so cute.
They come with those little egg decorations from the Dollar Tree trying to get a good look here. It's difficult, yes, it's quite big. I did not think. It was going to be quite a bit today, but it's a really big size, um, if you want to hang it on your front door or whatever, and I apologize for all the background noise, that was crazy, but that was my project today and I will see you all next time have a great day everyone
