More Interesting Facts About,

cricut joy smart vinyl do you need it hacks for cricut joy...

I'm going to post it, so I'm going to cut 5 and a half inches off the vinyl sheet right here. you know it's very, very important to cut precisely five and a half inches you don't want it to be less you don't do it anymore five and a half inches is perfect now the other day I was doing it on Facebook live in my Cricut creating community Facebook group which is exclusive only to subscribers of this channel, it's completely free but you must be subscribed to this channel to join, but I was doing a Facebook live showing my members of that group how to do the exact same process and while I was doing it, one of my lovely members asked me if the same process would work on each TV or on iron-on vinyl, which it does, but I'm going to show you all too and I'm also going to cut five. inches and a half, so now I'm going to plug in my Cricut joy and today I'm going to use my iPad to operate the Cricut design space, so I'm going to start a new project and since this is just an example, I'm absorbing the images and I found something that would be super fast.

How about we make the brightness graph right here? I like that, so I selected it and you can see that it's selected by that green box around the image and now I'm going to go down here to the bottom right corner of the screen and click insert and again since this is just a For example, I am not going to make any modifications. I'm sewing, go ahead and I'll click do it. Here, in the bottom right corner, here's the important part. Obviously, Cricut doesn't want you to cut without a bat and without our

smart

vinyl, so we have to pretend we're using smart vinyl.

Well I have to select no mat and now click continue in the bottom right corner of the iPad when it asks you to select an accessory it just asks you to select which machine you want to use which in my case is obviously the joy and again remember that we have to pretend that this is smart vinyl okay and since it's a permanent vinyl, that's exactly what I'm going to select here I almost select permanent smart vinyl. Now this part is pretty important and as you'll notice here, the pressure is set as the default. Okay, I want to select that and I want to change it to less pressure and then click Done now, when the blade smells and starts to wear a little bit, eventually you're going to have to change that back to the default values and even someday change that. to more pressure, but I just have to touch that as it comes right, so now I want you to load my vinyl into the machine, okay, so let's load this like we would with the smart vinyl, it won't bring this machine to the front and center so you can see it and what I want to do is just slide my vinyl to make sure it goes up and under the guides on either side of the joy and then just lay it down evenly up to the wheels so at that point I was measuring for making sure we have enough vinyl to do our cut and now that that's done, I can go ahead and select and start cutting okay, so now that I'm done cutting, I now have the option to hit download right here. and it just unloaded my vinyl and I'm going to put this aside right now and grab my iron on vinyl to do the next thing, okay now that we made that first cut, the Cricut design space went ahead and took us back to En this page here now obviously we don't have the mirror on which we

need

to do as this is an iron on type of vinyl and to do that I can click on this little green section up here at the top and select a mirror to iron on like that or I can just turn my iPad on its side like this and now it gives me the option to mirror to iron on as well and now I just want to click continue in the bottom right corner again, we just have to pretend this is smart vinyl, so what I'm doing is selecting smart ironing and again for pressure.
I'm just selecting where it says default and I'm changing that to less pressure and then I just click done, so now I'm just going to load my iron on vinyl into the stream of joy and we're going to do it like we normally would with this shiny side facing. down and this matte side up, towards you. I'll just slide it in. evenly under the guides on each side of the stream and enjoy right now, it's just measuring to make sure we have enough vinyl for our cut and now I have the option to select go to the bottom right corner of the iPad. right now, since I'm done cutting, what I'm going to do is just select download, okay, so now let's take a look at our vinyl.
One of the biggest concerns about cutting without the mat is whether it will cut through the backing paper and it's absolutely smooth, it didn't cut at all and the same thing goes here with the iron-on vinyl, as I hope you can see in the camera, the tape transfer or as if the backing tape were perfectly intact. I didn't cut anything so I'm just grabbing some scissors and I'm going to cut out my design so I can save the rest of the vinyl material for another project so I'm grabbing my weeding tools and I'm going to start working on this design and as you can see here which removes absolutely perfectly, like there's no complaints with it, okay, now for the iron on vinyl and again the same thing with this right here, it removes absolutely perfectly, like there's no problem, like If it was really really nice, that's fine, so just to summarize, yeah. you absolutely can cut regular everyday vinyl and iron on vinyl in the Cricut joy without a mat and no it doesn't have to be smart vinyl so the three main takeaways from all of this is that you should use less pressure unless your blade has passed through the The grinder maybe has some wear, so you may just

need

to change it to the default setting or higher pressure.
Number two is making sure your vinyl is cut exactly five and a half inches wide, which is extremely important. and three is to pretend that you are using smart vinyl, make sure all the settings are set to smart vinyl and that you are cutting without a mat, so now to see my opinion on the matter, apart from making videos for all of you and Apart of just doing the longest periodic random cut, I personally don't use smart vinyl or use less matte cuts, it's just not worth it because you go through a lot of extra material, in my opinion it only takes two extra seconds. to put some vinyl on your mat, slide it into the machine and let it do its job and to me that's worth it.
Here's an example, so this is the vinyl that we cut today and as you can see, there's all this extra vinyl. right up here at the top, this right here is as high as the Cricut design space wouldn't allow me to take my image with me this amount of vinyl which may not seem like much at first glance, this will definitely add up over time. I promise you that if you are making your cuts with your Cricut machine or your Cricut explore air two or even your Cricut joy and using a mat, you will be able to take your image so much higher and save so much space with your vinyl.
The extra two seconds it will take you to roll the vinyl onto a roll of mat. WIC will save you so much extra vinyl time it's not even funny. Look, here we go. This was super simple, super easy. I could throw it in my machine and move on. my way obviously, although that's just my opinion, you can do whatever floats your boat and tickles your pickle if it makes you happy, that's all that matters, if you're okay with that, that's all does matters. I'm just telling you what I would personally do. do it and you can put it to good use if you want to hang out with other like-minded cricket makers and occasionally get a peek behind the scenes of what goes on here, be sure to join our
