Feb 27, 2020
What's going on ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another Copart guided tour brought to you by Copart. No, it's not sponsored, but they allow us to do this, so technically it's kind of a Copart presentation. Let's start with this corvette. behind me, but first I want to give a big shout out to yard 18, all the people here, all the forklift drivers, ladies behind the counter and the management, all the people here who allow me to do what I do and in Copart corporate office certainly Appreciate you here at Auto Auction rebuilds and man I'll take today over yesterday any day yesterday was hot and sweating mud just sweating you know what I mean very hot yesterday working on that chevy cruze today It's nice cool It's gloomy It's windy Come on Jump this man.

I don't want to waste the girls' time. Well, I want to lose a little bit because you're watching this video first. We have a Corvette. I don't remember what year it is. I will have to do it. Come on over, check it out man, it's the right color too, you know what I mean. 81 is an 81, so I don't remember for sure, but is it 81 the first year they started crossfire injection or was it that 82, let's take a look and see if this had crossfire, well if it had crossfire, the crossfire is long gone, you know, the crossfire on this and boy, did someone go to town on this thing with silicon, this thing needs quite a bit of work, but uh, and let's be honest. here under the hood of this thing is a mess, it's pretty bad, this is, hey, if you don't check the Corvette bin, go check the Corvette bin.

More Interesting Facts About,

copart walk around carnage 4 23 19...

I think it's the Corvette bender Corvette, but they need to check this guy out. I would have a lot of fun with this look, this look, there are wires, just look, look, he calls this Bubba fied, it's always an unbiased office. I'll tell you what I like about this intake, although I love the Chevy logo on there, which is very clean. you will see this later. I don't know for sure if this is the Vortech motor or not, but it has those center mounting bolts instead of around the side, so it's a newer model motor from EA and look at the amount of silicon everywhere. this for me well, it's not for me this is a lt1 that's exactly what it is this is a lt1 v8 it has the lt1 water pump it's missing the opti spark and obviously the fuel injection so they removed the intake they put a carburetor they put a dealer and I think so, it still has the opti spark down there, you probably can't see it, but the opti spark is still down there, ah, that's cool, that's cool, look at the amount of shims on that sucker.

Wow, yeah, this is a nah, I would. I'm not mentioning this, this thing has just been, uh, it's... Bubba fights for my taste, the rest of the car, although it looks great, oh wait, maybe not, it looks like the rear end is sitting on the seat front, oh man, this door is a WoW. yeah she took a hitman, this exhaust looks really good, though it's like she has a really good exhaust system, yeah, this poor one, this poor one, hey, it can be fixed, it really is though, this is just If the car was in better shape, I would.
copart walk around carnage 4 23 19
Being interested in it, you know, and I'm not talking about the accident. I don't care about this fiberglass. All of this is replaceable. I don't care much about that, just the rest of the car, man, the car itself is just. It is not in good condition and it seems that the front part may have received a much harder hit than it appears. If you look here, we have the fiberglass cracked and it completely overlaps the door on this side. Now you can see it. took a hit here, there's no doubt about that, but I think it took a harder hit than what we're seeing because the fiberglass on the fiber girl is cracked here, it's cracked here and look at the gap in this door here, This is huge, so what it looks like.
What I like is that we have such a wide space here that I can literally stick my finger inside this space, so what I think is that he pushed the front and we are further away on this side and overlapping on this one. side because the front end took most of the hit here and pushed the entire front end, basically all the fiberglass will need to be redone on this, it's a lot of work and the fact that Bubba shot over it makes this a no. -Go for me, but anyway, if you like the old vet comment below, I like the wheels, I like the paint color, the rest of the car is horrible, here's a 2009 Toyota Corolla and don't worry Ladies and gentlemen, we will get to more.
Realistic rebuildable cars. I'll be honest with you. I don't know how some of these cars make it onto my list. I know it's a #9 Corolla and this is not completely rebuildable. This is not something I would do. This is not something I would touch, look at this man, this thing is wrinkled up here, it may not come out very well on camera, but it's wrinkled up here, so this is done, this is done, I don't know , I don't know. Why is it on the list? In my opinion, I'm really not a great parts car, great donor car and you'll probably get it very cheap, so if you have one that needs some front parts, you have one that needs an engine or a transmission. any other parts really you know from now on this will be great, it's a car with excellent parts.
I'll see if, uh, let's see if it works. It is listed as a functioning unit. Big surprise. Not bad. The battery is dead. That is normal. That all happens. Right now this is one of those cars, I shouldn't spend much, it's an older Toyota, it has damage here too, so we're going to break it down when she basically looks at it if it needs an engine and transmission. might be a good option for you one hundred and sixteen thousand miles, that's not much for a Toyota, everything under the hood looks good, but again, I don't know why these cars on my list even have the bumper like it's literally.
I think maybe only a few panels could be used on this car, so we'll leave this aside. My bad, now here's one that is legitimately one I'm considering bidding on as a chain rebuild. It's a Ford. The Fiesta is a small car, but it's a 2017, it only has 15,000 miles on the odometer, and as I tell you over and over again and you're probably tired of hearing me say, some of the people watching this video are new and I want to make sure let new people understand why you want to come here and look at the cars for yourself now.
I don't always follow my own advice and when I don't follow my own advice I am aware of the consequences and I am prepared to both dislike it and complain about it. I am aware of the consequences and the fact that I could lose money. That's fine for you if you're not okay with losing money. I do not do it. I recommend, come to Copart and look at these cars for yourself with 15,000 miles on the clock so this is pretty much a new car that's just tar so there shouldn't be any real mechanical issues there shouldn't be any real issues On the body, the tires are still visible.
New heck it even still has the UH, the front bumper which is not good but it has the bumper and it looks like it has the fog lights so it will save you some money if the fog lights work anyway it seems that the bags are Well, that's fine, the dash does not need to be replaced, the driver's side pretensioner is blown, on the passenger side. I think it's okay, so it all comes down to what's going on with the front end, so I can see the body lines here. They look good, the fender has a slight curvature to it, it's hard to see, but there's definitely a slight adjustment to this fender right here.
I can feel it with my hand, but I think the fenders are fine, in fact they could be made that way. I don't know, I don't know, we could probably get away with using this fender, the frame rail on this side looks perfectly straight, it doesn't look like anything has been modified at all, the crash bar definitely took the brunt of the hit here and It looks like we had an impact here too, so this frame rail is good too. This frame rail is straight. I hope you can see this. Everything looks straight. It's changed a little bit up here, but nothing I would say is that substantial. which would actually be, actually, yeah, that's up to me, there are the bolts where you can remove this front part that screws to the frame, where else, so this is something that you unscrew and literally replace all the plastics underneath hence our take, big surprise.
Well, boy, we're getting pretty close to the intake manifold, aren't we? Well, this isn't too bad, as far as I can tell, it looks like it's actually just the bull bar, one of these pieces here. I don't even know what one of those pieces is called, the bull bar, this hole to see if I can hold this hood for a minute here, make things a little easier for me, there we go, all this plastic core support, It's nothing but plastic, man. They are screwed things. I like this. I actually like this better than the metal ones.
The metal ones. Many times there is soldering involved but it seems like you have to replace this. You have to replace this. You have to replace the plastic or the sports one. I would do it. replace the radiator, the condenser, these parts are so small and so cheap that there is no reason not to go ahead and replace some guys, no, don't take shortcuts on this, you can see the lower core support here just disappeared, there this. there, so you have to replace all that. I think the air box is broken. You might not be able to see it down there.
The airbox is actually broken, so we will need a new airbox intake manifold. It seems like it may really be okay. I have to turn it on to try to see how it sounds, but everything below here really looks good. This doesn't look so bad. I'm surprised it's a total loss. This fender has been removed. It's only half hung here for one. bolt so less than half of it hung here so this fender will need to be replaced we have a Dean down here one is an external name which is interesting because it was actually pushed out here you can see that crease there which can be PD art.
I think this door might be PD's patio, you've got a window that needs replacing here and a fender and a hood and the headlights and the bumper and stuff. It's going to cost a little money, to put this car back together for sure, but ooh, watch out, watch out, Randy, yeah, 15,000 miles. the watch yeah, what is that, that's disgusting, come on, we have a burst bag, look, that's weird, the knee brace reel, okay, everything else seems fine, but the knee brace bag knees exploded, apart from the annoying complaints about the When the door is open we obviously have an airbag light there.
I'm not too worried about the front end feeling good. It looks like a small, compact car. I like it. What I don't like is how it looks. Take a time. To put it in gear it seems a little slow to put it in gear. I don't know if that's normal or not. I'm going to go ahead and turn it off. I don't want to. There is a possibility that the radiator has broken and it could be. squirting transmission fluid, get out here and take a look and see if we see anything dripping underneath and I don't, and the radiator seems fine.
I mean, I would still replace it, but you could see the radiators containing coolant. So, um, 15,000 miles, I wouldn't suspect anything wrong with the transmission on this, but it really seemed like it took a long time to get into gear before I thought about bidding on this, of course I have. a source of parts and because it's a 17, it's a little newer, there will be less of them, you know, less, less parts available in the salvage auction salvage yards, sorry, I better act on set today, man, so we'll definitely want to price everything, figure out what it's going to cost to get the pieces that we can see.
Uh oh, score or not, look at this, we have plastic parts, here is the window, you don't have to replace the window, here are all kinds of plastic brackets, nuts and bolts. headlights probably shot out, yeah one is definitely gone, this one can't be saved, can this one be saved? no it has a crack no that's not a crack it's made that way it has some broken tabs that can be fixed and again matte broken nuts back here so both headlights just not good but we had a lot of parts back here, so that's something to keep in mind.
I'll save you some headache. This is a fantastic little car. I know it's not particularly interesting, but come on. I'm just saying I'm going to look at this because if I remember correctly this car can be bought now for I think 2220 $2,250 it's a good deal man it's a good deal you should be able to put it back together easily and I can't. I think it would cost you more in 1800, maybe $2,000. Put it back together yourself. A practically new car for five thousand dollars. It's hard to get over that. Moving on, we saw this one last week.
Some of you may remember this is the 2012 Lincoln MKZ and many of you said you were interested in this one as a rebuild and it is something I am still considering. It costs like $2500, buy it now. This isyeah, you know what's been going on here. I have a lot of looks, like a lot of extra pieces to go with it. Someone has collected it. It's quite nice, I don't know. What's going on with this top? Although it looks like it extends, it has a weatherstripping seal, so it almost looks like the top is a pull-up design to give you more room inside or something.
I know I don't know how it works. I'm not going to ruin it as much as I want to. I love you. I want to do this and pull things and see what happens, but we won't. It works very well. Don't worry, I don't think you're interested in this, but I thought you might be interested, so I decided to show you the video. The putty strip also comes with this, this is really neat, man this is nice, I'm not sure I would do it. I've driven it a few times, but yes, this thing is in exceptional condition.
Here's a 2011 Chevy Cruze eco. It's basically my car, but this one has 167k miles on the clock. I'll be honest with you. I haven't seen many Chevy Cruzes that have more miles than mine, such crazy accessories regarding this car, some of the Chevy Cruzes seem to last forever, they are solid reliable cars and others apparently just fall apart, this one is in pretty good condition, apart from the front. I haven't seen the inside yet. I don't know if any bag is broken, since it is the Eco. I assume it is not the diesel. My hood looks like this.
It basically has the same damage to me unless something seems to be happening underneath. like it needs a new bumper, headlight, hood and grill. I can't believe they totaled it and the tires look good even though they're low on air, oh it's a lever, oh-oh-oh-oh what's going on? the seat belt, I guess the blue pretensioner or I don't know what's going on with that, oh, I love this interior, man, I like this one, a stick. I wasn't aware, I guess they made them on a stick, oh come on that's it. I'm just lucky, yeah dad is a door nailer man, the gear shift feels very solid.
David Stanley Chevrolet oil change, so the dealership checked it before. Why is it in such good condition? That's probably why it didn't explode and is driving at a hundred and something. sixty seven thousand miles on the clock someone took very good care of it, I mean even all week here the coolants are full which is unusual for a Chevy Cruze they have been known to leak coolant in several places this seems like a really easy fix and the bull bar looks like it's ok to like it, it literally looks like a bumper on a headlight and hood.
You really have this little 1.4 turbo with a stick shift behind it, it's going to be a fun car to drive, man yeah. So the Cruze is known for leaks falling off the hood, we'll leave it there. You know, because of the leaks around the thermostat housing that's hidden behind this charge tube. Here they are also known for leaks from this overflow tank. They will be divided. in the leak, they are also known to lose coolant in the water pump. They are known to have blown PCV systems, requiring a complete valve cover replacement. They are also known for these actuators, the intake and exhaust cam actuators for the variable valve timing, they are known to leak oil pretty well, this one really doesn't leak anything anywhere one hundred and sixty seven thousand miles, solid car, man , looks great, looks great, this is one I would be interested in just because it's an eco-friendly shifter.
I think it would be a lot of fun other than that, although I don't think there are many reasons to buy it, other than driving one that's a stick, not really a good reason to buy a car. We have an O six Jetta here, this may be the last one, there are two more that we don't know where they are, so this one is actually a bite now for $1,300, it is listed as a running unit, but it is also listed as mechanical damage. so you don't really know what that means it's automatic so just because it goes forward and reverse doesn't mean it has all of its gears it's a little close here so honestly we have some damage to this door. no big deal, it looks pretty good, this side looks pretty good, other than the pink brakes, the rims are actually tasteful, they actually look like those rims, it looks like it might have hit something right here, like this you may need to take a look below to see what's going on.
Let's get on with those 131k miles on the clock, see if we can get started or the battery will die like everything else, yeah it's a guy nailing the doors, oh the interiors are going to look really bad, it doesn't smell bad, it smells nice . well since the interiors have that checkered color the seats aren't that bad you look under the hood and see what we see hopefully it won't fall on me ok we have to cool it down to start I don't think you'll see it or not, but the coolants are good. turbo FSI the oil is pretty dark, that's pretty dark, but like it or not, the oil is full and I bet we don't have a transmission dipstick on this, right?, it's too new, too new, we don't have a transmission dipstick that sucks i would really like to take a look at the transmission fluid ok this is what the list is a transmission system that is going to start.
I mean, just because it starts doesn't mean it doesn't have a rod knocking either, so let's see. If we can get you a table, we can't because there is a cover under here, but I can tell you that it doesn't look like anything is leaking under it, so as far as we can go, GOI it looks like everything is fine. well, whatever is going on with those bumpers, it's just cosmetic, it doesn't look like it hit anything. I don't know 1,300, that's not so bad, what do you think? Yes, comment below. I actually liked this car, but I have a hunch, it's the feel. because it's a working transmission with mechanical damage I have a feeling the transmission will be defective 1300 $1,350 plus Co for Co parts fees at the door that's how you think so I actually had like one, two, three more to show you two of them that don't I don't know if we can find them or not, but the GoPros battery is dead.
This is like battery number two. I brought two with me and managed to kill them both at this point, so I guess I'll have to go. Get out of here and you might need to invest in some new batteries anyway. I know this video will probably be shorter than before. Some of you may like it, some of you may hate it. Some of you got used to taking out your popcorn. I appreciate those of you who don't mind sitting here and watching an hour and a half video. Hey, I do the best I can with what I have each week.
