Oh, that's a cross section, isn't it? Now, when you can stuff, there are certain ingredients that I never would have imagined. Coming back to some of the positives about dyed food, yes it's basically a preservation method so it keeps items safe for consumption without refrigeration if you're camping for example it smells more like brioche than anything else thing, it smells like Christmas cheer. no christmas brings me great joy that brings you great joy it smells like christmas spices that doesn't smell like bun it's not delicious that's not a tasty burger it

taste

s very greasy very oily very sweet from the bun and then the meat tastes like I can't tell you about which meat tastes like generic meat.

It squeaked when I put it in my mouth so texture wise everything was the same consistency. What if I told you that a canned cheeseburger costs five euros ninety-nine? means if you're in the wild you'd eat it, you wouldn't enjoy it if you're camping you'll most likely have access to a fire skin, we've been camping before and created some awesome ones. stuff outside on campfires and you can definitely cook better but most of that stuff needs a fridge or stuff so i can see a place for that if i'm honest i chose to start with this one because i thought i was going to get a worse reaction than that, yeah, unfortunately you're dealing with the basic and um that's not so bad number two here we go oh now this is what i expected that's oh it's really intriguing wobbly so far there's like some unidentifiable meaty brown sauce coming off of it? you know what it really looks like it might be dog food first impressions by looking at it dog food second impression by smelling it bbq bbq sauce feel free to decant it to see if it changes your mind so you can identify the meat once again any food straight from a can it's supposed to be served hot it never looks good when it's cold no it looks meaty it's like beef with gravy or something everyone can be poor pig this man knows his meat even in a can come on it's pulled pork in an american style barbecue sauce with lots of molasses now the cheeseburger should absolutely only be eaten as a cheeseburger.

In fact, we've made something where you can see the fibers of the pulled pork before it's even been reheated. It's so interesting that I would love to try it. ood bear with me van jay you can lift that little mini cloth what you have is a pulled pork burrito oh ebbers i knew that so you have some rice with lime and cilantro you have pulled pork you have pico de gallo and a homemade guacamole the pico de rooster that I made and the guacamole that I made in the time it takes to boil the rice and the pulled pork microwaved in its own sauce in a couple of minutes so instead of hours and hours an hour of waiting for the pork pulled do your thing could be good duped the canned pulled pork is very good the flavor of the bbq sauce really comes through it is a very strong bbq sauce it is very spicy very tomato very very sweet not how i would like the pulled pork because it masks too much the flavor of the pork, the pulled pork itself is obviously not as good as slow cooking a pork shoulder; however if you put it in front of me and I didn't know what it was and tried it tell you it was BBQ pulled pork so yeah it absolutely j ob if I want a 15 minute burrito then that's the only way i can get it when you put it in a burrito and you have rice and you have guacamole and you have everything else going on in there you can I really don't say because it's masked by everything else around it oddly enough the cheeseburger doesn't get me It doesn't matter in the slightest, but if you were going camping, yeah absolutely boil some rice and cook it all of a sudden it might be an easy fix. a job, it doesn't do the job compared to the pound of pork shoulder which is about seven or eight pounds. pork shoulder what do you cook if I have a craving for pulled pork I'd rather make the effort to make it I'd rather do that and then at the end of the day have an amazing pulled pork dinner and then have lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday is there I'd rather do that than get it from a c and i'm still going to eat number three when i found out we were making this video this is the kind of thing i expected from you it looks like something clinging to a rock under the sea i guess it's a fruit and can can i make it in a nicer shape in a bit, but you can store it in brine, so it's probably a bit salty?
It tastes like a vegetable but like some kind of very diluted bland vegetable that doesn't taste quite enough to be offensive or delicious I have no idea what that is that is jackfruit in a can so I don't know if collectively we've had fresh jackfruit I know we have had as a meat substitute a meat substitute to shredded pork sometimes a meat substitute to chicken wings yes I think we had a street food stand most if not all , UK supermarkets now stock it, I think in South East Asia and other tropical climates, they are used as a fruit in itself, make great ice cream, make great smoothies and stuff like that. so, but we commonly see it as a Native meat substitute or alternative, you know I'd really like to eat some jackfruit prepared in a way to celebrate jackfruit instead of trying to be something else. an idea ok that's not what i was expecting oh what i did for you was heat up the jackfruit which i cut up a bit with some chinese five spice and hoisin and then put it on a pancake roll with cucumber and spring onions , so it's a replica of hoisin duck and pancakes absolutely in this case it's a duck substitute it smells exactly like a hoisin duck and roll it looks amazingly like shredded duck some of it looks like duck leg meat some of it goes right. and crunchy so you get like the crispy pieces of duck which is delicious the texture is like a vegetable it's stringy it's not stringy but it has that kind of crunchy bite of a vegetable not meat however when it's in this there's no difference i can't work out between this and a duck and a raised pancake roll because you're putting a lot of flavor into it it has a really great texture the flavor in everything is lovely i really like that's so great a substitute, whether it's a meat substitute or a great standalone vegetable or fruit one of the reasons I chose it in a can is because in a can it's so much easier to get a and b to prepare I don't know if you've seen jackfruit, they're big, pointy things that you need to get into and so another reason why canned food can be great because it gives you access to ingredients that are already consistently prepared for you without having to bother with a can that size. uk supermarket in brian a pound sixty so its also quite affordable the only comment i would make is if you are using it as a meat substitute nutritionally its not its very high in fiber which is great , it's rich in a lot of great things but it's not comparable as a protein source meat normally has 25 protein which is about 1 so it's not comparable nutritionally but it's very good for you because it's high in fiber and all the other wonderful things.
I would love one more. I'll be intrigued to know what you think about this one. Oh, we're not off to a good start. Does this ever look like a scrambled egg? Please tell me it's not a scrambled egg. I really think it could be something you haven't tried before, I've only tried it once and to this day I've never cooked with it, so once again after 10 and a half years I love what we do. Try it and then I'll make you a plate. It's like a January with egg and cheese, but watered down. Overall overall I wonder if this is because of the unknown because you don't know what it is because I promise it's not that bad in fact it's actually quite delicious I know but I'm trying so it's salt ty , it's got a really nice texture it's really creamy like it gets really smooth when you bite into it I mean I guess it's a fruit of some description so it's aki I've heard of this I had no idea it's It looked like this from a research native to West Africa but now one of the national fruits in much of Jamaica and they have a dish called saltfish and ackee that they commonly have for breakfast actually I think it's possibly one of the national dishes from jamaica, do you want me to? pay you something yes please because it must be good and obviously I'm not eating it the right way and it's your fault this is amazing it's great great I can't wait for this I learned this dish from two youtube channels

chef

ricardo cooking and the caribbean pot we'll put the links below basically onion capsicum and salt fish fried in oil scotch bonnet thyme tomato and then the aki which is drained and used as is you don't want to overcook it because it will break down because it's quite soft that's salt fish and acne that's absolutely delicious oh don't you see that's really good it tastes smoky and spicy and from the sea it's like sea salty obviously from the fish it does the tofu thing from taking flavor this kind of melts in your mouth and it becomes really creamy and in a dish like this you can absolutely see why it's so popular so how do you prepare yaki? how did you cook it? it's wrong i.e. harvesting it when it's not ripe or not prepared well, it's known to be toxic, it has toxicity levels of things your body just can't agree with, so you don't want to go wrong, however, by buying it in a tin someone is taking all that risk away from you and it's always consistently reliable it's a very very simple recipe once you have the ingredients so you can get a big tin like that in UK supermarkets for between four and five pounds so again quite expensive as a tinned food but I'm sure you can get fresh aki somewhere in London.
I've never seen it, but maybe that's because I've never looked for it. What I do know is that it is in a can. It is very affordable. I know it's always consistent and safe, oddly enough I think the only way you're going to buy that is if you know what you're doing with it, but what I'd love to do is go to the international aisle in a supermarket and find some cans of things I don't recognize like aki buy them and then research what to do with them to get the most out of them because that's delicious and I've never tried it before what you just described is the journey I've been on in the last week preparing for this and you realize That there are so many great people cooking their national dishes as well as that and then we can recreate them, that's great.
I'd be fascinated to see what else you could do. to do with it because that is delicious canned food still getting is a bit of a bad end and to be honest often fresh food if combined with canned food is going to be better however there are so many circumstances where that the benefits of canned food, whether it be the consistency, the price, the accessibility, the safety of or if you are in the middle of a wild camping and you want something in a can, but there is always a situation where the food in a can can absolutely plays a role, I think the main thing I've taken away from this is that canning something from the other side of the world is an amazing way for someone like me to try something completely new from a culture that just does amazing work.
I had never thought of tin foot as a method of food exploration before. right now i can't travel to jamaica i would love to go if this is the next best thing and it's made possible by canned food then it's a big win for me this is the nice thing about having you on the other end of the chamber let us know what dishes of canned food we should try differentcountries and cultures that are different from the UK and who we should be looking to as experts, as contributors, as

I went through waves of trying to eat healthy and then just had a total blast and there have been times where I have woken up in one o'clock in the morning absolutely ravenous and eating things like pita bread in the bin slices of e-dam , so if I were in a similar situation knowing I had a cheeseburger and a can I can see myself eating that at one in the morning easily
