C8.R Corvette DESIGN coming to the Z06 or ZR1? Not all C8 Corvette models share 194 mph TOP speed!

Feb 27, 2020
Good afternoon everyone, welcome back to Horsepower Obsessed. My name is Justin and today we're going to talk about the Corvette c8 and a few more details about up

coming

pricing changes, some differences in the base package versus the z51, as well as something interesting that came. about that CA, alright guys, so before we get started, let's take a look at a really quick video showing the fact that c8 Corvettes have started arriving at Ron Scholars Performance Driving School. This is amazing news because the class From what I hear, it's amazing and I'll be able to go here soon.
c8 r corvette design coming to the z06 or zr1 not all c8 corvette models share 194 mph top speed
It is offered for any new Corvette purchase and since I recently purchased my zr1, I will be able to experience it myself very soon. It's something good. To see GM continuing this tradition because of how powerful these cars are today, you almost have to teach them how to drive them at the limit and it also gives you the ability to better handle the car in the event of a dangerous daily driving circumstance that can appear from time to time, it's always good to know what the limits of your car are and how to handle it in a bad situation, so this class is definitely a big win for Chevy and the fact that they're sticking with it. with the c8 it's a big thumbs up for me, there's no talk about when exactly it will be offered but it's interesting to see that the car is already listed with the logo on the side and this tells me that it's probably going to be ready to go on the first day that The C8 is officially sold at many dealerships, so if this is something you were waiting for, I think you'll be fine.

More Interesting Facts About,

c8 r corvette design coming to the z06 or zr1 not all c8 corvette models share 194 mph top speed...

I think it's ready to go at this point. Below we have some details that were recently released about the z51 package, specifically how it compares to the base model in terms of top

speed

. With the announcement of the Corvette c8's ability to go from zero to 60 in less than three seconds, you know GM is not. playing around, it was recently discussed that the c8 Corvette Stingray will have a top

speed

of 194 miles per hour, which is pretty amazing for a quote-unquote base car base, of course, with the launch of its c7 Corvette zr1, GM was able to launch a crazy car that averaged 212 miles per hour which again is absolutely crazy the zr1 has always been known for its incredible performance so a top speed of over 200 miles per hour was expected however a

corvette

base model c8 getting so close to 200 miles per hour wasn't really what was expected, the base model 2020 c8 Corvette isn't likely to be the car many people buy, most people who can afford the new Corvette will probably check a few boxes and one of those boxes are most likely the z51 option.

This performance option will cost you an extra five thousand dollars, but it gives you some performance upgrades, such as a performance exhaust, performance suspension, electronic limited-slip differential, brakes, and larger rotors. Michelin Pilot Sport tires for S. improved cooling and new front brake cooling inlets, this is likely to be a highly requested feature due to the fact that it basically makes this car more track ready; Having said all that, the Z51 package actually limits the top speed of this car, now you may well be wondering why the track package option limits something as important as top speed, the answer is drag.
c8 r corvette design coming to the z06 or zr1 not all c8 corvette models share 194 mph top speed
The z51 package includes a front splitter and rear spoiler that together provide 400 pounds of downforce. This is huge for improving handling, but it will drop the top. speed of the z51 equipped car at 184 miles per hour, which is still more than you would need for the street and is also much more than you use on any track in your area, so it's not a big deal, but because That extra downforce is going to give up 10 miles per hour of the car's top speed. I'm definitely interested to see what that high wing spoiler will do for this because GM actually said that this spoiler increases downforce while decreasing drag, so it's possible that the high wing actually allows for a top speed closer to 194 miles per mile. time that the z51 spoiler.
It would definitely be interesting. I'm excited to see what GM comes up with with that. Now let's talk about something that everyone who is interested in the C8 has. We've been talking recently and that's the price when it was first revealed, we all heard it was going to start under $60,000 and we basically hit the floor, it's a great bang for your buck and certainly the dual clutch transmission cheaper central engine. car you can buy today, but it won't cost less than $60,000 for a long time. There are a lot of rumors right now that suggest this car will see a price increase for 2021.
Now, how much increase? In 2013, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette was launched with a starting price of fifty-one thousand nine hundred and ninety-five dollars, which was a very attractive figure as it was only a jump of about four hundred dollars from the c6 it was replacing, but a few months after dominating the c7 Corvettes, Chevy raised the price. base price at $53,993 saying there was higher than expected demand, which is a terrible reason, but that's what they gave us for the 2015 model year, the starting price of the c7 had gone up to $53. five thousand nine hundred ninety-five. which is four thousand dollars more than its original MSRP, of course it would have been very difficult to find a c7 at the sticker price at launch anyway, but that's another story and you can bet it will most likely be repeated with the Corvette c8, So make sure that if you want one of these things, you place your assignment with a reputable dealership as soon as possible.
Now increase the price after the first year for unexpected demand or to help fight inflation. It's nothing new. GM generally increases its price every year and for a car. that will probably be incredibly popular, it will definitely get a price increase. What all this means to you is that if you want to see a Corvette, you better get in quickly so you can get one as cheaply as possible or you might be waiting. Much longer than they would like to get this car without going completely broke. Well guys, next we will talk about the C8. This car was shown off quite a bit before the C8's official debut and is quite different in shape and appearance from the C8 Stingray, which has always led me to believe that this may actually be a look at what the 0-6 or ZR1 will be.
In the future, I basically think the C8R is likely to mimic the body style of the Zo6 or ZR1. What we're getting very soon, which was recently pointed out to me by Mike, who is a subscriber of mine, is that the exhaust tips are not close to the edge of the car like they are on the Stingray model, it's really interesting. but this really leaves only a few possibilities on the table, but the most notable is that the rear trunk area has probably been moved outside the car to shorten it, save some weight, and give the exhaust tips a more focus-focused approach. rear bumper.
This is most likely the case because, especially since the c8r is a racing car where extra kilos for something like a trunk are completely unnecessary, it would be easy to remove. However, I'm curious to see where this goes because I had a feeling from the day. We got our first look at this c8r that would one day translate into the zo6 or zr1 model and if it does, it probably means we won't have a trunk on those

models

either. This would be absolutely fine with me because the more centered exhaust looks better in my opinion, it would allow the car to be shortened a little less and overall give it a better look.
In my opinion, of course, in the past GM has been as extreme as making the rear glass thinner to save weight. on the zo6 model, so it wouldn't be completely far-fetched to think that GM would remove the trunk, shorten the car, and possibly give it a different

design

just to make the zo6 as crazy as possible. Now lastly, there was a video on Corvette blogger recently talked about the video rearview mirror option for the Corvette c8 and we actually got some images of it in action, courtesy of the c8 page on Instagram. I'll include it here so you guys can see it all.
Just first ride in the c8 at Laguna WeatherTech Speedway, the quality of that camera is so good, just like she said in the video, the quality of the camera seems to be pretty good, it's almost hard to say that it's not actually just a mere reflection, but Because there is no part of the car obstructing the view and the fact that we have seen the options sheet of the car, we know that it is actually a camera, it is an amazing feature that will definitely end up increasing visibility and that is always so. Welcome to any Corvette you've ever driven.
Well guys, that will do it for today's video. I wanted to give you a little update on the C8 before I head over to Corvettes in Carlile, as I've said a couple of times in my previous videos.
