basic eyeshadow tutorial for beginners step by step tips...

I just created this nice reddish brown shade I and it's very simple, it looks very pretty, very nice and blended, so it's like an easy I for me, so I'll show you how I got this result right here. And yes, the first thing you should do is prepare your eyelids before you start applying eyeshadow and getting a perm. Literally, it just means creating a light base to place the eyeshadows on, so to do this, I like to bring my girl. Professional concealer and this is any warm honey color. I usually like to use concealers instead of actual eyeshadow bases just because I feel like concealer gives it a better look and more pigment, so next you just want to use a fluffy blending brush and you just want to lightly apply the concealer. on your eyelids, just apply very, very, very lightly and blend the concealer, which helped remove some of that darkness.

It practically created a clear canvas for me to apply my eyeshadows. Step 1 is out of the way. and now we move on to

step

2, so I know some people like to set their lids with a setting powder before applying eyeshadow, but I don't like to do that because I find that when I apply the powder over my concealer and then I apply my eyeshadow pigments, you know it takes away the pigmentation from the actual color of the eyeshadow because you're applying powder on top of powder, so if you apply a faint powder underneath, you apply a color like, say, a cup of powder orange.

On top of that, it's going to look a little bit muted, so we don't want that, which is why I don't apply powder over my concealer, so now I want to move on to

step

2, which is your actual eyeshadow, so to start. with the eyeshadow you want to use a transition color so the transition shade we're going to use today and this is the morphe 35o 2 palette. I'm going to use this shade right here and this is in the color sculpt. So transition shades are important because when you apply eyeshadow you start from top to bottom, you start from the top, under the eyebrow to the eyelid space, so you know if you want your eyeshadow to be pink. or a red that you can't just shove into a pink and red eyeshadow, you literally have to work your way to it because there are levels to this, okay, literally levels, the transition shade is pretty much the shade that combines all the colors, the color that creates a gradient effect for the rest of the eyeshadow colors, so going into that range of colors, the best brush to apply the transition shade is a fluffy blending brush, which is this one from here.
I got this from morphe, this is a morphe brush and this came. in one of their sets, so I really like this brush because it's very thick and very fluffy and transfers the product to my eyes without problems. When you use the brush to apply eyeshadow, you can hold it on the other end so you don't put too much pressure when you apply it or you can hold it halfway, so the difference is that when you hold your brush halfway you have more what's the word, you have more control over the brush and you know how much product you're pressing your eye all the way to the back here when you're holding it here you're applying it very lightly whether you like it or not because holding it here gives you less control hold my brush a little bit in the middle and I like to do very light strokes from one side to the other and just under my eyebrow, right there and if you want to blend from one side to the other, just blend from one side to the other and also in circular motions because it creates a most equal combination we have. shadow now you can go ahead and dive into your next color right here and this is called vibrant it's more like a brick so let's take that shadow and this is another blending brush but this brush is a little bit straighter alert .
I'm going to go into your crease, so since my crease is all the way down here and I want this color to show through, we're going to apply this color a little bit above our crease area and once again with very light back and forth motions. back and I want to get this color as close as possible here, I just want to make sure that I know that you're getting all of your areas and that you don't have a blank space here with no eye shadow because no, that's just not the case. cute you just want to do blending movements back and forth you're almost done we're almost done if you're feeling discouraged if you're at this point and you're feeling discouraged and you know you feel like your eyeshadow isn't coming out the way you want, don't worry, You can always start over and you can always keep practicing because this is a process and you will only get better if you keep practicing just because I feel like our transitional shape got covered up a little bit, which usually happens when you apply eyeshadow on top of eyeshadow.
Let's go back to the transition tone. Remember to remove excess eyeshadow because you don't want to just peck at the eyeshadow. You always want to remove the excess. excess and we're going to go over the top a little bit next, this is the part that creates the dimension, the smokiness and, you know, really brings color to your eyes and dimension and depth, this brown tone here called frame, let's dip our flat brush here. I'm using a flat brush and I like to use this brush because it picks up a lot of product at once and it's also a really good brush to apply to the outer corner and crease area because it just gets there so it's very small and precise, but still collects many products so you can get the look you are looking for for this color.
This brush is so good, wow, it falls off a little while you guys. You can see that I only have a little bit of rain, so it's important to remove the excess from your brush because you don't want to know that if you paint your face first, you don't want the eye shadow to fall on your face and What it doesn't is just ruin your entire face, so you want to tap off the excess and then go ahead and pat the outer corner of your eye and you also want to take this color a little bit into your crease right here, you just want to use tapping motions and continue to pack in and build up the shadow until that you get the desired smokiness that you want, so what I'm doing I'm just patting on the outside corner and working into my crease that way, which brings your look together. is to make sure that all the colors are mixed correctly and you still want to use a clean blending brush, a brush with nothing, no product, by moving this brush back and forth, this easily blends all the colors at the same time, so We're just going to go in with this brush and run up my eyebrow and just make sure that you're blending back and forth with very light strokes because you don't want to put pressure on your eye and then find out that you're literally peeling. the color of your eye, which is what you don't want to do, so you just want to do circular movements and back and forth, making sure that there are no harsh lines and that all your colors blend easily, so now that we practically have the outer corner and the transition tones, all there and all nice and looking good, let's go ahead and find our crease color.
This is the color of the bear and the canvas brush I'm using, it's a flat brush that I like to use. this brush because it literally goes right into the crease, you can cut the crease with this, you can carve it, you can peck colors and you know it's very precise and small at the same time. I'm just going to carve my crease. with the shadow but using tapping motions, so I'm just tapping, tapping and carving at the same time and you want to keep applying shadow over the area. You're applying shadow on top of shadow and you want to make sure it's the shadow you want.
Now we're applying it as pigmented as the rest, so you don't want to see any reds you know showing through any brown poppies. 3 you literally just want to see this color we're just going to use the excess which is just brush and literally do this to blend the tan very light very lightly just to blend the tan and that hard line which is literally like this as you can see literally you just applied eyeshadow, you literally just made a cut. crease, so for my

beginners

, I know winged eyeliner is not everyone's favorite, it is difficult to do, but another tip, if you are a beginner and starting with eyeshadow, I suggest you use masking tape and stick it with Scotch tape. the outer corner like here before you start on your eyeshadow because you know you don't have to worry about your eyeshadow going crazy without it and if you want you can literally draw a wing and the tape that's there Make the wing for you, so it's not much, you know, you don't have to worry about messing up any of that, but for the sake of this video, I'm not going to make a winged eyeliner even though I feel like it will.

I'm using a brush so as you can see the top is literally very pointy and it just creates a better tool to use to get there without it getting everywhere. I'm going to go in with that brown that we used on the same brush and I'm literally going to stop in the middle and you know your face isn't complete, your eyes aren't complete until you put mascara on your bottom lashes, so I'm going to keep going. and use Maybelline's colossal Big Shot.
