Mar 07, 2024
Hi everyone, I'm Dave from Dave, forward stuff. I have received many requests for today's video. Everyone keeps asking me about those

cross

wreath

frames from Dollar Tree and what I can do with them and to show how I would decorate and make them.

cross

Rees today your wish is granted. I'm showing you three different ways to create crosses using the Dollar Tree Cross Wreath Frame. Why don't I get started and show you what I did? Here is the star of the show, that cross.

wreath

frame from the Dollar Tree and I also found this flannel fabric with craft squares, this little mirror with a black border around it and these beautiful foam flowers that are being balled up and of course I will be using some of my usual craft supplies to When creating this project, I'm going to start by laying out that square of fabric and just figuring out where I want to make my cuts, so I'm going to follow the cuts that are actually there, actually the folds, I should say.

Right on the fabric, I'm going to cut those two end pieces and the middle one in half and then all I'm going to do is place those pieces, take my hot glue gun and Now I'm going to start gluing that fabric right on the crown frame. I'm not going to be too careful, this is just the first layer of the fabric and I just want to make sure it's all nice and covered as you can see here and then. I start on the top half doing the exact same thing adding a little bit of hot glue down, folding it over itself and then starting on the arms of the cross doing the exact same thing by covering that metal frame with my hot glue gun and with that. fabric and once all that fabric is down here is the result and then I'm going to take another piece and I'm actually going to make little pieces there about an inch wide and then I'm just going to tear that to the right so I'm creating little strips a little rough a little uneven I don't mind any loose threads, that's the look I'm going for and then I'm just going to take my hot glue gun again and I'm just going to wrap those pieces all the way around.

More Interesting Facts About,

I want this to look a little rough, a little uneven, so I'm not taking too much care to make sure the fabric strips are perfectly placed, it's okay if they are a little uneven and have some threads coming off, that's what which I'm looking for here, so I'm just wrapping it all the way up and I've got the first one and I'm almost done putting that hot glue on. down and then continue wrapping those strips of fabric around the rest of the wreath frame, hot gluing them, wrapping them with the next one and we're almost done and I'm not going to worry about the center because that's going to be covered and here we go our final result of our wrapped fabric cross and I love the results so far and then that little ball of roses, these are just little foam roses, I'm just going to take them apart, use those roses and place them right in the center covering that mirror and just I'm putting them in there with my hot glue gun and that's going to be our centerpiece for our cross and to attach it to the wreath frame all I'm going to do What I do is put in pipe cleaners, these are full length pipe cleaners and a crisscross pattern , place them well in the glue, make sure everything is nice and solid, add a little more hot glue, let it dry a little before placing it and attach one to our frame I'm just going to use the crisscross and I'll put it right in the middle and then I'm going to turn that frame over so it's face down and then I'm going to cross it on the back using those pipe cleaners and then I'm just going to cut off the excess for each of them and again just turning them over to make sure it's nice and secure and to hang it on its own I'm going to use a cable cover and there's a little piece of the frame that shows that I'm just going to attach that cable tie. close it a little creating a loop, cut off the excess and then you will have your little hanger for your cross wreath and here is our final result of our flannel cross wreath using that square craft fabric that is flannel, that little mirror and of course those whites . roses that are so beautiful.

I love the black and white of this cross wreath and I hope you do too again, the star of the show, that cross wreath frame we are using today and this metallic gold spray paint along with these beautiful roses that found at Dollarama and here are some other roses you can use if you don't have a Dollarama. These come from the Dollar Tree and the first thing I'm going to do is shake up my spray paint. to the gold spray painted garage and here we go our final result of our gold wreath frame already looks beautiful and then I'm going to start taking apart those flower stems.

I'm using roses, you can use any floral you want. I'm going to cut them once I have all my flowers ready. I'm going to stick them right on the frame. The first thing I'm going to do is add those petals, those rosebuds first, just to make it a little bit. group right in the center of the Cross going down a little. I have four in total and I'm using different colors pinks, lavenders, purples, oranges and again you can use any floral you want, you can create the same effect and then I'm I'm going to start gluing some of that greenery that covers part of the frame, but I want the frame to be exposed too, that's the whole point of spray painting that gold color and it's a really nice, simple and

easy

craft to do.
I don't have to make any decorative mesh packets or anything and it comes out so beautiful. I think it's just a simple and elegant classic wreath using that cross wreath frame, some spray paint, and of course those beautiful, beautiful, florals from Dollarama. Can't. I think there were only, I think there were 350 each, it was a big surprise to see them and our final wreath for our second cross wreath, our third and final wreath, we are using that cross wreath frame along with this burlap garland, this one measures 5 Wide. I found this wooden heart that we are going to add here too along with this burlap ribbon.
It's just a very simple cream colored one, but you can find this burlap and lace one at Dollar Tree if you want along with some deep red acrylic paint. and my usual craft supplies to create this project. I'm going to start by painting the wooden heart a deep red color, so I'm just going to grab my paintbrush and some of that acrylic paint. I'm going to paint the sides. to paint the front and I'm also going to paint the back once that's all done, I'll just set it aside to dry and once it's all dry we'll start on our wreath frame.
I'm going to do the ruffle method and I'm going to use one of the wires that I just showed you there and we're going to fold the burlap in half, so imagine my finger is the wire that we have. I'm going to wrap it around that wire that I'm showing you right there, so I'm going to take one end and I'm going to put it through the middle opening, the other I'm going to put through the end opening and I'm going to fold that burlap in half. See there the wire is right on the inside in the middle and what I'm going to do is take my left hand and I'm just going to gather the fabric with it and with my right hand I'm going to be pulling and pushing towards my left hand to create that ruffle effect, so all I'm doing is gathering with my left hand and I'm feeding that garland directly into my left hand with my right hand and you can see this is a little bit of a sped up version of me pulling it out I take a break from From time to time I look at how it is put together.
Do I need more? Do I need less? And then once I decide I've got enough, I'll move on to the next section and do the exact same thing, just stick both ends into those openings making sure the wire is right in the middle. I'm going to get some leftover burlap and then start the same procedure again. I'm going to feed it with my right hand, collecting the Ruffles in my left hand and then I'll just glance at it from time to time to make sure I have enough Ruffles for that section before I continue, so now I'm just looking. everything looks good and still let's move on to the next section, just running that burlap through this is a really great method, it's nice and

easy

, you don't have to worry about any cuts or a bunch of cuts, like the decorative mesh a times. and to make the center part, all I'm going to do is pass half through that little square right in the center and then pass the other half through the other side and continue with the next section until I'm done making that whole row with that steering wheel again picking it up with my left hand and feeding it with my right.
I'm going to cut off the excess once I'm done at the end, feed it through fluff it a little bit, make sure everything looks good and I'm happy with the result, then what I'm going to do is take my hot glue gun and place it right on the middle of that wire and then I'm going to tighten and squish that burlap and then I'll do the other side as well creating little anchors at the end just so the burlap doesn't go anywhere. Now for the other side I'm going to use the same. two openings and making sure that that wire is right in the middle and this time I'm going to push it through the center section where we already have burlap and the outside and then what do we do?
We just pull and curl, pull and curl. those Ruffles Ruffles Ruffles and I'm going to go down to the opposite side and repeat the same process when I get to the end, cut off the excess, open that ruffle a little bit to expose that wire, add a little bit of hot glue and then flatten it out creating a little anchor and then I will do exactly the same for the arms of the Cross following the same procedure feeding it and then when you get to the end you will start the next section doing the same. feeding it with your right hand picking it up with your left cutting off the excess pulling it all the way and then we'll add the glue right at the end to seal the ends so the burlap doesn't come loose. and just be careful with your fingers and the burlap because that hot glue is hot and here is the final result, I'm just fluffing it up and we have our beautiful base crown ready and what I'm going to do is take it out.
This is a cream colored burlap, it has no wire so I'm just looking for the center point. I'm going to place it on the cross and I want it to cascade over the arms of the crown. frame or Cross and I'm figuring out where I'm going to place it once I find that position. I'm going to add a little bit of hot glue there to make sure it's centered. Tip it over on the other side and then I'll run the tape through the wire frame cables just to make sure it's nice and secure and it's not going anywhere and then I'll add a little bit of hot glue right on the back where the The wire meets the ribbon so it doesn't fall out or move and while it's dry, I'll just create dovetails at the end of those ribbons, making sure they fit and even cutting off the excess if necessary. and then finishing it off with another dovetail and here's our heart again.
I'm just cutting a couple pieces of twine adding a little hot glue to the back. I'm going to add the twine directly on top of that hot glue making sure it works. so it's nice and secure and dipped in that glue, so I'm going to add a little bit more glue just to make sure everything is secure and that's how we're going to attach our heart to our cross wreath. Let it dry completely and then I'm just going to place the heart. I want it at a little angle and then I'm going to wrap that burlap.
Sorry, the twine on the back, turn it over and then I'll crisscross those ropes. or rope or twine whatever you want to call it and attach it to the back and then I'm just going to cut off that excess and once we flip it over, we have our finished cross wreath made with the burlap garland with that ruffle method and that beautiful cream colored ribbon cascading down those arms and of course our red wooden heart right in the center, look at those beautiful ruffles and that beautiful cream colored ribbon. I love the combination of all this and really how simple. all three cross

wreaths

turned out, so here is the first one with that flannel fabric, the mirror and those white roses that stand out against that black background and of course those roses with our spray painted gold cross wreath frame, simply elegant , simple, so beautiful and I love the color of those roses.
