Mar 07, 2024
uh hello everyone, it's Dave, from Dave's recent stuff, here we go. I was finally able to get those

cross

shaped wire

wreath

frames from the Dollar Tree. I've been getting a ton of requests for everyone saying, Hi, can you

make

one for us, can you

make

one for us? For the last year and a half I've been trying to find them and finally I finally found some so I found three so guess what we're going to do today we're going to do three different ones.

cross

reads, why don't I get started and I'll show you how I put it all together and of course I'll use that cross wire

wreath

frame along with a two inch burlap wire ribbon and some of this fun.

The ribbon I bought on Amazon has polka dots, stripes and everything, and I'm going to use my usual crafting tools to get started. I wanted to cover the edges of the wire wreath frame. I'm going to wrap this wire. frame with the burlap, but I want to make sure those ends are covered, so all I'm going to do is take a little piece of the burlap ribbon and I'm going to wrap it there like a gift gluing it on and then that's going to cover my Edge right there once it's all done and dry, I'm going to take that ribbon and I'm just going to stick it there and then once it's stuck there and nice and secured, I'm just going to wrap it around until my heart's content with it.

I'm being a little careful when I wrap it, as you can see I'm taking my time putting it where I want it to be the most. more of a straight line than an angled line so I'm just going to wrap that big piece there when I get to that cross section I'm just going to cross the tape and then I'm going to glue it like you look here so I'm doing like the corner of the kitty wrapping it, gluing it in place, cutting it and then I'm going to finish wrapping the rest of my wire and you can see here that I made each of those ends exactly the same way I made the first end, so I wrap a little piece of tape around and then I start wrapping and crossing right at that middle point just to give it a little bit more coverage there and then I'm just going to glue it on. that leftover piece keep it in place until it dries and then I'll go back and finish those other arms.

Here it is all done and now we are ready to start with our bow for this cross wreath. I'm cutting 18 inch plain burlap ribbon and all I do for myself is just cut one to 18 inches then I use that as a template and I cut more and I'm cutting three pieces of this plain burlap and I'm also going to use that as a template to cut the striped burlap i'm going to cut two pieces and then two pieces of that plaid one, once that's all done i'm just going to snap each of the ends together to finish it off and now i have all my pieces are ready so i have ribbon number one, two, eighteen, number two is 3 8 18 and number three, two, 18 inches to make our ribbon.

I'm just going to fold our little piece of ribbon in half, find the center and then I'm just going to squish it together, hold it in my hand and then the other two fingers I just hold it in place so that our Loop is in the front or on the top and then the tails are at the bottom. I'm going to do the same. The same thing alternating between all my ribbons until they are all used and on my hand and again we have all the loops at the top and all the tails at the bottom and to secure it all together I'm just going to use one wire. tie and all you have to do is wrap that zip tie and pull it a little bit for this one.
I'm not going to pull it all the way because I'm actually going to grab a piece of twine of a random length and I'm going to thread it through the zip tie, that's how I'm going to attach it to my wreath, so once it's all there, I'm going to squeeze it really tight and cut off the excess and now we can start fluffing. Raise our bow, as you all know, I love fluffing bows, it's an addiction of mine, but our bow is now ready for our cross and it's very simple, all I'm going to do is take the thread that we tied to our bow and I'm going a to wrap it around the back tied in a nice tight knot making sure it's nice and secure and then I'll just glue it in place and wait for it to dry and once it's dry here we go our beautiful elegant burlap cross.
Corona, what do you think of it? I love its simplicity. I'm a big fan of burlap and burlap ribbon so this really appeals to me and I hope you like it too and again we're using that Crossfire wreath frame. for our wreath number two along with that burlap wreath you just saw, I used a little bit of lavender and a couple of different styles and some greenery. I don't remember where I got this from, either Dollarama or Dollar Tree and some miscellaneous tapes I had lying around. black ribbon and then I also have some burlap ribbon that I'm going to use and my handy, trusty craft tools to do this project.
I'm starting to wrap my frame with the burlap ribbon. I just showed you how I did it on cross wreath number one so I'm not going to go into too much detail but I just wrapped it the exact same way I did the first wreath to get this wreath ready to be decorated and then I'm going to cut all of my floral picks on the little stems, you can leave them on if you want and just glue the whole thing on, but I'm going to cut them all out with my handy little wire cutters, except for one of the vegetables I'm going to keep a Greenery intact and then my plan of attack for this was to fill it with lavender and that Greenery, so you see, I have two different lavenders and my idea was to have the bottom tier or I guess the bottom layer would be the purple lavender. and then the outer layers will be lavender white and purple and all I'm doing is just gluing them on, you can see that here and then once I'm done, I'm happy with it, I take a look at it and it looks great.
I'm really happy with that so what I'm going to do is continue doing the same method on the other two arms of my cross adding the lavender and gluing it all in place and I just love it. how this turned out I had a kind of vision in my head but I honestly didn't think it would be that good if I do say so myself. I'm giving myself a pat on the back, but here you can see that I did all the arms and I also put a little bit more lavender right in the center and now what I'm going to do is put all the greenery right at the bottom, so here is one of the floral selections that I didn't cut, I'm just attaching it. to create some volume at that point, I'm just going to add and stick that extra green all over and really fill that space and once it's all filled in, then of course we can go in and create our little arch, the last little green.
I continue to fill that space. I'm going to take a look at it to see if I like it. I usually pick it up and it's a great idea to pick it up or stand up and then take a look at it too. We are going to create. our bow for this and I didn't measure anything for this, all I'm going to do for this bow is just create a loop to see what size I really like and then I'm just going to fold it. itself, what I want for this is three loops on each side, so you're going to fold it over until you get one, two, three loops on each side and once I have those, I'm just going to cut off the excess. and then I have a little bit left on my roll, so I'm going to cut a little piece there, I'm going to fold it in half and I'm going to create a little knot right in the center.
Now this is seen. like an arch but it's not the arch itself, this is just the center piece to cut or cover, sorry, the cable slab. I'll show you in a second and then I'll fold it in half, pinch it in the center. I'm going to grab that cable tie and then I'm going to put it right around my tape. I'm going to take my time with this and I'm going to flatten the center. I'm going to make sure that The Cable Tie is centered because I want the bow to be nice and I'm still going to take a look at it and then once I'm happy with that, I'm actually going to pull that cable tie and cut it off.
Trim off the excess and this is the part where that little bow-like piece comes in handy. I'm going to use it to cover the center flange. Now you don't have to tie it with a bow, you can just tie it with a knot. I must say that you can put a simple one in there. I just wanted a little bit of detail, so I tied the knot right in the center, so I'm going to glue those two flaps down, hold them until it's secure, and then. Of course, once the glue is completely dry, we can open up our bow, extend those little loops, and we've just created our little bow.
How cute is this and so easy to make! You don't have to be a master bow maker to do this. bow and now I'm going to take a piece of burlap ribbon, it's about maybe I don't know maybe four feet long maybe three feet long somewhere out there and all I'm going to do with that is I'm just going to tie just below the cross area, just a little overhand knot and then I'm going to glue it in place so it doesn't fly all over the place, let's put it that way. I want it to lay flat so I'm going to add a little bit of glue there, now those two lengths are actually going to be the tails of our bow and I'm going to attach my bow with some glue from my hot glue gun and hold it there until let it dry. then a little final touch here, I'm going to snap both ends together and one more little touch I'm going to do.
In fact, I'm going to create little curves or little folds in my tails just to create a little more interest. those long tails I don't really do that too much but I love how it looks on this particular wreath look at that bow and here we go our lavender cross filled with wonderful lavender and greenery and then of course we have that burlap bow. there with those long tails I hope you enjoyed this wreath. I had a lot of fun making this one and for the third one we will use the same framework. I found this cotton rope at Dollarama.
I know it's at Dollar Tree. also and this floral selection from Tiger Lily comes from the Dollar Tree and of course today I'm also going to use those handy dandy craft tools for this one, I'm going to wrap it with that cotton rope, but I did. I want to cover the edge so what I'm doing is just gluing a small piece to the bottom as a start, wrapping it around the back gluing it in place and now I know the frame will be covered and once I have it all dry . I'm going to start wrapping the cotton cord all around and from time to time I'm going to grab my glue gun and put on a little bit of glue just to make sure it's nice and secure and in place and then I continue wrapping to the point of look and then I'm going to add a little bit more glue to wrap it around and then I'm going to go to the corner of the kitty and I'm going to start at the top every now and then I'm going to add a little bit. of glue so I know it will stay in place and then I finished wrapping it and finishing my tips like I did at the beginning so you can see I already have the main part done and now I'm going to I worked on the sides with the same method and once I finished everything, there was a little gap in the middle, so I'm going to take some leftover wire and then I'm going to hot glue it right in place and I just decided, you know, at the last minute, I'm really going to try to see if this worked and You know, it totally worked out in the end.
I was a little surprised, I thought that seems like a good way to go, Dave. there we go we have our cord wrapped cross wreath ready to go and to finish adding those finishing touches and those finishing touches are those lilies that I have and I al

ways

do a little rehearsal first if you've been watching my channel. You know for a while that I do a rehearsal all the time on every project I do, so what I mean is I don't glue anything, I lay everything out and I look at it and see if I like it and This is where I decided that the sheets didn't really work. , but I loved the placement of the flowers, so I'll glue them on and then decided I'd use some extra leaves I had.
That's where I al

ways

keep all my floral selections after I cut them and they fall apart. I think it was a daisy floral selection if I'm not mistaken and I had a bunch of them left over and the color seemed to work. much better for my eyesight and I had a lot of these left over so I started gluing them everywhere on the back just to highlight that white and look at how those leaves highlight the white and the lilies that I I love how it turned out so there a little tip to always save your floral picks because you never know when you're going to need them again and here we go with our cotton cord, it's so soft I love the way it feels.
Cross wreath with our lilies right in the center again. I love the leaves and how they brought out the color of the little one against that cotton and cord. I think it was a great choice and I'm very happy to have had them around, which one do you think? is your favorite of today's three cross-reads, let me know in the comments below.
