WOW! SHE SHED TRANSFORMATION!!

When we got to where we are now, yesterday we ran to the hardware store and bought some expanded foam board that we will use as insulation for the roof, so the general concept of our roof is that I wanted exposed rafters, so instead of using two by four for the rafters we ended up using two by six knowing we needed to insulate and I still wanted some of that wood to show through when you looked up at the ceiling so we have these amazing high ceilings here. which I love, however we are in the dead of winter and our first big utility bill came in and that told us right then and there that we had to hurry up and fix the roof insulation, of course the rest of it. the shed is insulated, we insulated all the office walls and everything, but we really need to insulate the roof so we can keep the heat in here, so now we have all the expanded foam panels in here and I really wanted to paint. this so that it doesn't look so much like styrofoam but has a more finished look, so I went ahead and added just one coat of our nude latex paint, not only did it tone down that stark white color, but it also gave it a much nicer finish we have a satin finish on the paint and it's actually the same color that we used for all the shiplap and all the drywall here okay so it's New Year's weekend and like you I can see behind me that we have the scaffolding here, but I wanted to update you on what we've done so far because we already did a little bit of prep work, so I think I left where we were painting the foam board here and Actually, already we installed four sheets in the loft and I'll show you a better picture of that later, but that was all the area we were able to do with basically no scaffolding, so now we have this giant mechanism here. to take us to the top of the roof, which is 17 feet high and you might recognize this, this is V, this is Brian, hey baby, you might recognize this because it's the exact same thing that we use every time we install the roof beams. ceiling. there yeah those beautiful things that took forever to see so now we've brought them back basically so we can install all the insulation in the roof and then I thought I'd share with you some of the things we're used to install this because it can be useful to someone.

They are ultra-fast grip liquid nails. It actually sets up in an hour and grabs right away, so you don't have to prepare anything to grab it, so it's just. grab and stay so it's been really nice and then we're using this Romek hot knife that I ordered on Amazon and I'll link it in the description box if you're interested in one this has done the job really well. quicker and easier I have it on the floor because we just used it, but I'll show you how easy it is to cut foam using it Hi guys, I'm here for another update while I was away on creative activity Brian was wonderful and finished all the insulation on the roof someone to give you a loop around what was done while I was away hello guys it's a new day it's a work day she shed we just finished installing it's hard to see the sun It's actually shining and shining today.

We had one last strip of shiplap to add at the top near the ceiling that needs to be torn off, so we finally got it done. I'm going to finish working on the loft floor that we're going to drag out. all out of the office and Brian will finish sanding there so hopefully we can prime the walls today. I can't wait for that because then we can paint after that and then we can add lighting and I can't wait to put lights up. the office is fine, so we lift the last piece back up. We putty it waiting for it to dry so we can see into those nail holes and then paint that Brian is in the office below me, he's finishing up the last sanding of the drywall, thank God for that and then I'm in the loft.

I'm going to finish the faux wood flooring technique I'm going to add here, so I'm excited to finally finish some projects I'm going to get. to work well, it's the next day. I am in the office. We printed everything last night. It is overnight so it can dry completely. So today's goal is to apply two coats of real latex paint to the walls. Super Bowl Sunday, so I'd like to at least watch today's hobby show, but this is definitely a priority. I want to make sure we get this done and painted because I'm going to start putting cabinets in here, so that's the goal. this painted also painted the last layer of paint sorry it's very bright because I'm in front of the window the last layer of paint on the shiplap while we're taking the paint off so that's the goal for today fingers crossed and work hard , hopefully.

Work quickly so we can watch football later. Okay, I just finished the last kind of pain here. I'm going to let this dry and then we'll move on. The reason there are some unpainted spots is because that's where the cabinets are going to be. wow in case we were wondering, there will be cabinets in there, you won't see that at all, but yes, the ceiling and walls have one coat of primer and two coats of white latex paint, we have a ton of light circuits. I can't wait to go up and enter the office, do you see the difference?

I did the German schmear technique on the brick wall, I finally made a full tutorial on that, so if you want to check it out, I will link it in the description box below and I will show you the whole process of how I turned a faux brick panel on this beautiful wall that you see behind me and let's also go to the office because we finally have all the lights. Brian installed this one, so now we have them all. of the office lights on and what I'm going to do today is clean up all this crazy mess and sweep the floor really, really good because we have a ton of cabinets to assemble and they're all going to be I'm going to walk into the office back here and I can not wait.

There will be all the storage for all my craft supplies, my work surfaces and everything will be there, so finally some of these things are starting to happen and come together and I. I'm starting to see some sort of light at the end of the tunnel, so we've had a pretty productive weekend so far. We spent quite a bit of time last night building the drawer system that will go in the office. We ended up using the Nordley. system from Ikea which is really cool because you can configure it and make it longer, shorter or taller so it will work perfectly for the wall I want a countertop on in the office.

Today we are going to work on building taller cabinets. that's going to the office and I'm also going to finish the floor in the loft, everything it needs is sealed and then it's ready to go. I can't wait to add the outlet covers up there and all we need to do is trim and the railing and basically the loft will be ready to decorate which will get the kids really excited because that's going to be their play space up there but today We're going to work on sealing that up and building more cabinets. I'm going to go ahead and in this video here it's Valentine's Day week, so we've been doing a lot of work over the last six weeks, the office is really looking up now that it's painted and we've started putting cabinets in here.

I was also able to finish the loft floor and the Schmira German brick wall, the shiplap is finally finished and painted and the biggest change of all is the beautiful ceiling we have here now, so not only is it insulated but it is also embellished, be sure to check. the link i will have in the description box and i will put the german schmear and diy tutorial for you as well as the office floor tutorial.
