World's FIRST iPhone 11 Sapphire Screen Protector? Shellrus Sapphire X Review

Feb 27, 2020

sapphire

, which was kind of a buzzword in 2014, you know, when the rumor mill ire was about Apple using

sapphire

in their iPhone 6s, but sapphire either didn't work or Apple definitely didn't work for advanced technologies from GT and it didn't really work. for us so far, this high-end premium

screen

protector

is called Sapphire X by Shell Wrist. The

screen

saver is something else. I have to warn you be prepared to have your mind. Monte and I have been testing screen

protector

s for years we take a lot of pride in it and for no reason, well I don't really know why we do it but we literally have boxes of broken glass in our office and I keep it on the remote possibility that you may need to use them in the future.
world s first iphone 11 sapphire screen protector shellrus sapphire x review
I don't know what for but I still have them oh my gosh that's a lot of broken glass now. I was a little skeptical when I

first

came across the shell risk as my

first

web homeit left me a bit suspicious because the scratch test photo shown on your website shows that your screen protector is very very tough and then they compared it to a regular glass screen protector but as far as i can tell that screen protector is neither. good quality look at the adhesive on the edge of that screen protector it doesn't stick to

iphone

s so it was definitely not an apple to apple comparison it's not even an apple to orange comparison it's an apple to rotten banana comparison another reason for my skepticism in terms of sapphires because you know you have big companies like zag that claim to have sapphire in their products like sapphire fender and i'm pretty sure your product is just plastic but that's just me but i took a chance Cheverus and they got spun so here we are so showers is a new company only been around a year but the people inside showers have actually been cutting sapphire for at least five years in the beginning of the video i mentioned a company called GT advanced technologies, well they were all the rage back in 2013-2014 because they're the companies that were supposed to make all things sapphire for the iPhone 6s but GT Las te advanced technologies left the sapphire glass business in 2014 and from all the bankruptcy fuss they show us we went and bought several hundred kilns to start cutting their own sapphire now, over the last few years they have refined the process as far as we can now slap a piece of glass on the mat of our iPhones because i really messed it up before i got to the actual product i just want to illustrate the difference between normal tempered glass and sapphire material so normal tempered glass is made by melting sand like descends sapphire on the other hand, specifically synthetic sapphire is made by growing it in a special furnace that involves a large amount of heat and helium to cool some of the parts of an alumina oxide seed ingot. the kiln basically everything cooks as sort of a reverse donor i guess it starts spinning and just pulls these ingots and it takes 21 days to grow a 140 kilogram ingot so three weeks to grow this piece of crystal that they can probably get about 900 screensavers so it's very time intensive very energy expensive and that's why it's expensive but after you get those giant ingots you basically treat it like it's classier than that he cuts it, polishes it, and then puts some coatings on it. this is how they make the Sapphire screen protector now with that out of the way let's talk about the Sapphire X in terms of design for the Shell Rest Sapphire Xtreme protectors made from synthetic sapphire that has been cut to a thickness of 0.23 millimeters which is thinner Than the average screen protector that registers a three-millimeter point, this screen protector is not a full edge-to-edge screen protector, so depending on your iPhone there could be an exposed gap between whatever case you use and the screen protector now i've been told they're going to come out with an edge to edge version but that edge will be something it will be a different material like the flux lab edges where it's like epoxy and raisins it won't be sapphire so it might be a weakness in that part but it's still an edge to edge screen protector so if you're concerned just get this one and use whatever case you want to see program a screen protector screen has a notch for the front speaker but everything else is covered and i didn't notice any difference in terms of image quality with my front camera beam covered the sapphire x has a transparency rating of around 92% which is basically what which i glasses are basically any type of consumer glasses installation was not great and the showers did not have any installation tools with the projects they sent me to

review

but they said they should have them and for the PR ice you are going to pay , they will have them, the installation process was quite painful despite my ninja skills when it comes to installing screen protectors, I got a bit frustrated, but in this whole process I found that the glass does not bend So much so that when You have problems with dust, some non-sapphire glass for protection will actually bend and stay away from your iPhone if it's been too long. twice, which did not happen with the sapphire acts.

More Interesting Facts About,

world s first iphone 11 sapphire screen protector shellrus sapphire x review...

This sapphire screen protector honestly feels different now in terms of smoother it's just as smooth as other high quality glass but it feels different as sapphire transfers heat much faster than glass which means that it feels colder to the touch it's just a very different feeling it's very very subtle but it's very very neat don't believe me look how quickly heat changes between a double tempered glass screen protector and the showers after warming up that's great and yeah i have to use my th ermal camera again the last thing i'll notice and this is probably one of the best things i've seen in terms of glass screen protectors is that on the bottom of the screen protector there is a faint watermark i have been using this particular one this particular screen protector on my iPhone 11 for several weeks now and until i looked very closely at the edges i knew everything i didn't even see it as though it was so subtle but the fact that they can mark it like that that's so cool in the glass

world

like it's literally just glass so it's very hard to tell the difference between different brands of glass most come from the same place so they have a watermark on their product and being so this is very subtle about it just great but none of this can really justify the 80 US dollars you will have to pay to get the screen protector on your iPhone if it doesn't offer better than average screen protection because honestly if you buy sp orts car you expect it to go fast ok ok let's talk about protection now if you've been looking at my

review

s for a while you'll know I consider screen protectors consumables that get scratched and then they crack, that's the case with sapphire screen protectors now, the first test i did with the sapphire X was the fingernail test.

To have 9h hardness, you'll often see companies promote scratch resistance by lightly cutting a piece of paper across the top of an iPhone with their box knife, but here's the thing: the box knife was the typical box knife has a hardness of about 6 cunning glass which has a theoretical nine so you're basically testing a bulletproof vest with some nerf dirt on it like it doesn't make any sense now that I've been reviewing the screen protectors for yes rs now and that 9h hardness claim is generally not true it's almost 9 o'clock not quite at night almost night scratches will always show up because the oleophobic coating is scratched or peeled off or the glass itself is scratched and the micro vibrations appear almost 100 percent of the time after a few months the mesh protector i show you in this video has been in use for several weeks and there is nothing on it i cant see micro or abrasions on it, which is great now to go a step further in terms of scratch protection.

I took three foams, one with a narrow collective screen protector which is sort of a regular glass screen protector, one with my current favorite from floette, one dual tempered, and then the Sapphire X on my iPhone. 11 my first scratch test was done using a random rock i found outside and i was thinking i was just going to do this for effect but that particular rock had a corner that had something on it that was harder than 9h while chewing we removed all the screen protectors but the sapphire rx as we did that test and it was just mind blowing.
Next up was the box knife test which again the highest hardness of six on anything that's nine or about nine didn't leave any marks that's to be expected and no I didn't cut a piece of paper on top of it to demonstrate how much scratch resistant is this because that's silly. Next up was the 120 grit sandpaper test and it does leave a mark on tempered glass screen protectors, but Definitely not Sapphire regardless of how hard I pressed. If you find this video useful and plan to get it. You are considering getting it. I'm working on trying to find a discount code for you guys so look at the pin comment it will be at least five percent off.
I'm trying to figure out if I get more, but we'll see, but if you're thinking of getting it, definitely use the code. It is the 24th and I am. Wrapping up this review now I'll be posting it in the 2 6. I've done all this legwork before telling them I want them to give me a discount because this product Frank is so good and the last scratch test was done on my Leatherman and, for some reason the file on my Leatherman doesn't have t four glass as it literally chews up screensavers like Monte chews carrots, both the arrow collective and folding screensavers were absolutely destroyed by the file but the sapphire X didn't showed absolutely no signs of damage, like holy crap holy crap holy crap my Bowl so scratched Pretty good production How about the impact protection to notice?
I took the screen protector out for a spin with the screen crusher and Bertha my 200 gram steel ball now I started the first drop at about 80 centimeters which is average high for tempered glass screen protectors and it broke which which surprised me because i thought it would be higher because i was a little high looking at it it just reflected everything from the scratch test so i did several other drop tests on the intact parts of the screen protector and each drop broke between 80 and 85 centimeters which puts it on the same level as an above average normal tempered glass screen protector, this is around 20 to 30 centimeters lower than my current top pick, the vivo fluid nano armor in terms of impact protection now the impact test which was a bit disappointing is still pretty good but a bit disappointing as i really expected it to be super tough but sapphire is a bit more fr snappy than regular soda.
Lime glass so you know I guess that's to be expected but this is the problem when it comes to impact protection when it comes to glass screen protector breaking. I've broken enough screen protectors. I know a little scratch can easily break if you drop it. Because the Sapphire X doesn't scratch easily, maybe not at all, based on what I've done, the chances of it cracking will be much less unless you do what I did with the impact test. ection or impact protection so after all I'm very excited you must be excited because it's a real life sapphire screen protector but panic here's the kicker it's not cheap and eighty bucks can buy four complete AB Man armors that last probably the life of your iPhone you know two years every six months you can replace it if it's not up to your phone.
So is this sapphire x this is a premium product so if you have money to spend definitely go get it and I don't think they are ripping us off with it because remember it takes 21 days to grow this crystal where they know soda lime glass it just melts it good look there it is so it's worth it that's up to you again you get the money to burn absolutely better than day it's still glass it's still a consumable though the Sapphire X is a better than average consumable but if you want what best of the best the sapphire x is the way to go so that's it i have questions comments i have t mention something about monty he looks like a mess because he has hair everywhere and i changed the bottom of his boot and now it's mostly oatmeal , so he's got lumps of oatmeal in his beard but he's getting a haircut so in about an hour he's going to look prim and proper much prettier than me he's already prettier but the first time he sees my s videos I encourage him to click subscribe if he wants to know what I think our other high quality products do check out my channel thats allthat i have yeah i really think thats all i got sapphire which was all the rage back in 2014 when i became sapphire which was kind of a buzz word in 2014 when we were talking but man i hate this place i literally hate this place sapphire I'm so fed up I had faith.
I've never done what's on this rock, but it's destroying these screen savers. at it oh yeah you guys are the best ok guys i don't know but mr. Monty here has a crooked tooth and that only adds to the extra cuteness of him, isn't he a puppy, he's fine, you say bye-bye, yeah?
