But that has to be the coolest thing I've ever done while he was hosting an animal show. My heart is racing and it was absolutely amazing. - So what you did there, the relationship that I have had with this wolverine all his life and for 36 years working with wolverines, what you did, is unprecedented. Nobody has ever done that. I haven't even done anything like what you just did. And he touched you with his teeth, with his nose. You had made contact and he allowed it. What we did today is push all the knowledge that I had and you pushed everything that glutton will give me, the benefit of the doubt, the benefit of the doubt of being a good animal, having the proper etiquette protocol for a human being and You took it so far from reality. - OK. - That's so far from reality. - That's pretty close.
That is going beyond. Steve, I can't thank you enough for that experience, my friend. There are no words that can come out of my mouth right now that can truly explain what it was like to be in that enclosure with the wolverine. I can see the relief on your face. All that stress. I know how hard it was for you to let me in there. All my fingers are still intact. I contacted the wolverine. Today you helped me realize a dream that I have had since I was eight years old. I don't know how I could thank you enough for today.

His love and appreciation for animals and his connection to the planet is like nothing he has ever known.
I am proud to call him my mentor and I am lucky to have him as my friend. I will never forget the moments I spent in the presence of the wolverine and truly consider this ghost of nature to be my spirit animal. Looking back, I now have a new dream: to one day return to Alaska. And I hope that when I do, the north will greet me with a smile and a pair of sharp claws.
