Why You Should NOT Buy a Tesla!

What's happening guys? I'm Chandler Smith and in today's video I'm going to share with you why I absolutely hate my Tesla. Now I think these things that I'm going to share are going to be important enough that the average person probably

should

n't invest in a

tesla

at least right now, so with all that being said, let's jump into it guys, here's my

tesla

and , right off the bat, I think I need to show you this, if you zoom in, you can see what it is. dirty right now, which makes it much more noticeable, but as you go along, do you see how much that gap widens?

So here I can't get my finger in here, my whole finger goes in now, this is completely closed and as you look at the lines along the tesla you will find similar situations like this, however on the back it drives me crazy, my tesla is connected to bluetooth and you'll see it's supposed to open when it gets here but I go out and it takes forever for it to warm up, ok I just saw something that says "touch card to unlock" but here's the deal: my phone is on wifi and if i keep wandering around and again i'm recording with my phone so it's probably going to make it take even longer it won't open now i know this is something you say oh that can't happen , often, no, seriously, it always happens, so what I'm going to have to do now is get out of whatever it is.

I'm doing on my phone, I turn off my bluetooth and then turn it back on so I can get into my car. Now I usually don't carry the card because it's much easier to use the phone, but when the car hasn't been used during the day, you can come and try literally everything and sometimes it opens, sometimes after a minute it opens, but sometimes Sometimes it just doesn't open at all, especially if you're doing things on your phone, so if you don't have your card with you and you're using your phone, you're on a phone call, you're doing something else, it's absolutely infuriating because you can't get into it. your damn car, I thought it would open when I tried this, it opened and now that I'm recording again it just won't open.

I grabbed my wife's phone so you could look at it and see what I'm going through, so when I get here and try to open my car won't let me in now, I'm sure a lot of you are saying, "Well, Chandler, "You probably weren't online." Well, here's the deal. When I go into my Tesla app you can see everything is connected now I'm in the Tesla app I'm not going to press to unlock but just having the app open now it will connect but you saw when you have your phone if it fails like this because you're doing something else, it won't happen.

It doesn't open until you enter the app and open it now. The problem is that many times you go into your application and we are just going to block it and see if it does it again. I enter. exit my app same thing is ridiculous it

should

be able to work without you having to go that means if you are running to your car you grab your phone for the car keys you come you have to press your tesla app you have to wait for it to load and then it will will open. Now it doesn't always do this.

Sometimes I can go out and it opens right away, but many times it's a real pain in the ass. but now i'm sure there are a lot of tesla lovers that are going to get really hot about this video, but here's the deal. I'm a Tesla lover, I'm an Elon Musk fan, and I love my Tesla because I literally have five other vehicles. I have my truck, which is our daily driver. I have two sports cars that have been a great comparison for the Tesla because the Tesla is much faster and then my wife has the Lexus that we also use as sort of a daily driver. the family, but the only reason I love the Tesla is that it has a lot of cool features that other cars don't have.

However, if this was my daily driver, I'm telling you right now, this was the car my family had to depend on. I would have given it serious thought and probably sold it by now because of a lot of the issues we've found, you'll find gaps in the panel, you'll find issues, but what I wanted to show you here in the trunk is pretty infuriating now that I've had this car for longer. two years old and I didn't realize this until later, so it shows how much attention to detail I have, but look at this piece, okay, this piece is a little silly.

I don't know if it's a bad word or a word I shouldn't use, it's just super funky and I know you're like, oh chandler, just turn it over, it doesn't turn over like it's crooked, like the trunk was installed. crooked to where this is solid here like you can't move it, you can't pull it down, you can't straighten it out, so you have this super weird trunk where everything is crooked and as you follow it around the way it goes around it doesn't look right and that's the reason why my trunk is all uneven and believe me, I took out the plastic piece.

I did everything I could to try to straighten it out, but it's a little weird. Now these are minor issues and this is something that even if I had realized, I would still have about the Tesla because of all the cool features. One of the other things that drives me crazy is that this car was created to give you an experience like The fact that you can go from zero to 60 in three seconds is crazy and the electric feel gives you a feeling you've never experienced before, but what drives me crazy is that I'm always giving people a ride and saying, "Hey, come on in." Get on, I'll show you the speed at which they enter and before they leave I have to give them a warning.

I have to say, hey, this is a tesla, don't feel bad, but they installed this emergency handle, you can see and what happens. It's just that if they pull that handle, it ruins the door, so Tesla tells you to only use it if it's an emergency, so when you look, the correct way to open the door is to press this button, but if it's an emergency and the electronic components do not work. pull this and eject the door now what's crazy is if you've never been in a tesla before you see the buttons you say, well I don't want to touch this or this because I don't know what they control, maybe it's the window maybe whatever else, I just want to get out the door and I know what a door handle looks like and that's a damn door handle so the first thing they do is pull it and when you pull it the Tesla monitor freaks out.

From the video, I will show you even though it is bad for the Tesla, but the reality is that many people have done it because no one knows that you shouldn't do it, so when you pull it it gives you this manual door. cause damage to the window trim, so it's like you're joking when I drive people around. What's going to cause damage is literally the only thing that looks like a door handle. Now none of this is disqualifying, like it shouldn't be a The reason you wouldn't want to buy the car is just stupid. I'm going to get to the reasons why you might not want to buy the car, but when you bring people here, I'm sure many of you will.

Well, Chandler, that's really not a big deal, but it is when you buy a car that costs over 70,000, which is what I paid for the performance of the Tesla Model 3 and you get it here and you're in this place where you want to show it to people and every person that gets in the car you have to feel like an idiot and say hey, real quick before you get out, don't touch the handle, press the little button, you just feel stupid and it's super annoying and you always forget and the People end up breaking whatever they do by doing that.

I have talked a lot about corks and I have been hard on Tesla. I mean, we've talked about how to handle spaces, just little things and a lot of them are frustrating. There are also a lot of things with the Tesla that are new, so if you haven't figured it out, you won't know how to do it and that will be frustrating. I have no problems with these things. There are things that should make you not buy the car, the car is amazing, the 0 to 60 is amazing, the experience, everything about the car is really great, however there is one thing that should disqualify many people from not buy this car and that's the part I want to explain you have to understand I live here in idaho where it's very cold now there are two things that make a tesla miserable: the cold and going faster than the average speed and when you go ahead and say Hey, I want to go to Tremont.

It shows me that I should stop in Pocatello and charge for 20 minutes. The thing is, I don't even know if this position will take me to Pocatello because it's cold outside in Idaho right now and when it's cold. drains the battery now, the other thing that's frustrating is that if I'm just going on the highway and I'm going 80 miles an hour, that's the speed limit here on our highway, which will also drain the battery at twice what it says If it says I have a range of 200 miles and it's cold outside and I'm going over 80, then I have a range of 80, maybe 70 miles.

I know it sounds absurd, but that's how it is and that's what's so frustrating, so you have to control your speed, you need to make sure that you don't travel on the road when it's very cold and even if you travel on the road in average temperatures, say 50, 60, 70 degrees, you have to drive very conservatively and still. You're not even close to what it says so when you get on here and it says you can make it to Pocatello and you'll have 12 100 left, I wouldn't make it to Pocatello and I know you're really like Tesla says you will, but you won't, you I promise even right now, if I drove under the speed limit with the temperatures here, I wouldn't make it and that's infuriating, so you can understand if you're like me and want to drive the car. for a road trip or you need to go 100+ miles in a day or whatever, it sucks, but what you also need to keep in mind is how often you remember to fill your gas tank every time you drive.

It's because I don't do that with any of my other cars, but with this one I plug it in religiously when I get home and keep it completely full because of an experience I had a while ago; actually a year ago I had to take a trip to Rexburg and on the way back now on the maps it says I'm 24 miles there, I'm 24 miles back. It had over 100 miles on it and it said it could go so I thought dude there's no way I'm having any problems because I'm over what I need now, the unfortunate thing is I went there and let a friend drive it.

I left my car with Mark Wilmore to clean it and it looks amazing, however I think I figured out why I was out of range. brings it back and going what's probably three four miles max in cold weather and going from zero to sixty where I was hitting the gas and really hitting it, brought it back and on it it said it could go 45 maybe 50 miles now. look at that and I'm like, okay, I'm 24 miles from home, I can go 45 or 50 miles based on this, I'm going to get really close, but it was at the end of the day and it was probably negative 10 negative 15 outside I start driving and I'm Watching every mile I go.

I'm losing three miles, no joke, sometimes even four miles and I'm like shit, I'm not going to make it home, so I get to where I am. I'd probably say 10 miles from home and I have less than 10 miles left to go so I've used 30 miles and probably closer to 40 miles to go 14 miles and I know there's no way I'm going home so I decided go and stop at this place where I knew someone was. There was a hotel right off the highway. I walked in and said, Hi, is there a way for me to connect? I'm going to see if I can potentially just leave the car here and have my wife come pick me up.

Here's the problem: They don't have a Tesla charger installed because Tesla chargers aren't anywhere. There was no Tesla charger in Rexburg so I didn't have the option to do that, it's an entire town that has thousands of people that don't have a charger, the only chargers are in Idaho Falls and the only charger in Idaho Falls was nowhere to be found. I was coming, I was on the other side of town, so my best option was to try to get home, but now I'm stranded in this place and I'm sure you're saying, Well, Chandler, why don't you bring your charger?

You can plug it into the wall. Well, I'll try to plug it in. on the wall and guess what happens when you plug it in with just a standard plug because they didn't have a Tesla plug because why would they install a Tesla plug in some random house with the regular plug? They tell you hey you can go five miles an hour you burn more than five miles an hour letting a car sit in the cold so just by plugging my tesla in the cold I was losing mileage so I got to the point where I had less than 10 miles I'm losing a mile having my car plugged in I know it sounds crazy but I'm plugged into a normal outlet and I'm losing miles so now I'm like shit I don't even know what to do there's no Tesla store here , I have no way to save. this car so I had to urgently call a tow truck and say hey I need you to tow my tesla drop three or four hundred dollars for them to come pick it up and tow it to my house and I have to do it frantically late that night of the night. the night because if I wait until the morning I know I won't have a battery to be able to take my Tesla out of the truck and take it to my garage to a charger, so here's the deal with Tesla if they are fast it's the amazing technology it's the autopilot,great, that's all next level, but if this is going to be your daily driver and you're someone who goes 30+ miles in a car, that's your daily driver and who doesn't take a road trip occasion you don't have a longer day where they go from appointment to appointment I don't know anyone but myself or people in a position where they have multiple cars so they can plan a specific day to say hello that day I can drive the Tesla even if it's cold because I'll have 270 miles on it and I know I'm only going to drive 50 so there's no way I can get that much mileage on it so I'm driving home from Rexburg. and I get an urgent call from Chandler.

His Tesla is out of battery and there are no electric chargers for miles. I hope this video helps you understand that I love my Tesla. I'm going to keep it. I'm going to buy the Tesla Roadster. but if you are thinking of buying this car for your only car as your daily commute or something that you are going to drive around town, go on dates, go on road trips, I'm telling you it's not worth the risk, it's not something You should buy it as your only car until they get more chargers and can get a bigger charger that can hold its charge in colder temperatures and with what is now an average speed limit of 80 miles, holy cow I don't know why .
