We

quit

life

in VR and I'm not talking about the fake resignation that all the other videos have when they're not actually

quit

life

in VR and many of you may not even know that we've been living and traveling in VR for the last 3 years just because it's not something we've really focused on with our content, so Don't worry, everything will stay the same, we will still travel, we will still share content, so it's not a big deal, but we wanted to do it. It's kind of a talk about why we left life in VR and then we just reflect on the last three years about how VR sees us, the biggest struggles we had, what we enjoyed the most, and ultimately what led us to decide to leave it .
why we quit rv life
Traveling so before I explain why we stopped traveling I just wanted to share with you some of the reasons why we decided to RV in the first place, it was a little after Co and we were working the whole time I was taking my kids to school this is after school started again um and I felt so rushed and busy in life and I couldn't really enjoy the things I wanted to enjoy with my family we were working work working to save money and then I could only take maybe one vacation a year, which is pretty typical for, you know, the average American family, um and I decided that wasn't the life for me, which sounds funny and of course, I've always been a hard worker, I know. .

More Interesting Facts About,

why we quit rv life...

I needed to work to make money, to support my family and I totally understand that, but just getting up, getting the kids ready, leaving them in someone else's care all day, I work all day, then I go pick up and then I go to dinner. homework if they have a bedtime routine and then start the same thing again. um it just got to be too much so I actually found a couple of families on YouTube um who were living and traveling on their R full time and at the time it wasn't like that. It's not very popular and I didn't even know it was a possibility, but I started watching these other families doing it and I got the idea of, oh my gosh, why can't we do this?
why we quit rv life
I was already working remotely and so I mentioned the idea to my husband, who was completely surprised because this was completely different than anything he'd ever done and he said, "I know I can do that, but can you do it?" and I said, "Yes, I think so." That would be great, um, so we started the process. He agreed, he thought it was a good idea. We began the process of looking for an RV that would fit our family and the van and all that. This is Tera's first time driving the truck. She is doing well. So far we found something that we pretty much bought maybe 2 months after we decided to make that move, which was pretty quick at this point, neither of us had ever towed an RV so we didn't know what we were getting into but oh well.
why we quit rv life
You only live once, so let's go for it. We decided on an older RV and we took a couple of months to completely renovate it, change all the paint, just made it more attractive to our family or more aesthetically pleasing to our family. um and then we decided to do it since I was working remotely, that was easy, my husband had to quit his job and he got another job um before working full time, which was great, we bought the Thousand Trails membership um not right away, but after a couple of months of starting to travel and that was a good option for us because we used it quite a bit and then in the end you can resell it, not for as much as you bought it, but still, yes I looked at the time we stayed there compared to what we paid for the membership, it was still a good investment for us at the time, so I just want to mention that not all Thousand Trails are the same.
You'll probably end up liking some and you'll end up hating some entities, they can really be unpredictable in each park and some of them are a little further out in the country than others and others are closer to cities. If you join Thousand Trails, I highly suggest you go to the different 2000 Trails specific Facebook groups, there you will learn about all the different properties and even some properties that you may not be able to fit into depending on the size of your team and that So basically you will be able to plan your tour according to other people's recommendations, so during the 3 years that we made our life V, we usually stay in places for 3 weeks, in some places we stay for a month, we winter somewhere for 6 months, um and then we stayed in places for a week, sometimes it really just depended on where we were going, which V Resort we were trying to get to, but overall it was such a great experience we went places we would never have gone to otherwise, destinations where you know you wouldn't think. to yourself like, oh, I want to go on a trip there, um, but we were able to see and explore so many interesting things because of this, we were in a lot of areas that we had never thought we would explore in an hour to two hours from the parks of RVs that we were in and we got to see and experience so many things in total we visited I think 26 27 states in the RV um and then we also got to take a cruise to Mexico um there a Disney cruise which I highly recommend but we also have We had to do other things outside of the RV, even during the time we were there.
It's so easy to just park your RV, drop it off, catch a flight and then come back perfectly fine, we're a family. of five with a large dog and two cats, so being in the motorhome sometimes became very overwhelming and of course we used the outside space as much as possible. We always took the kids outside, we took the dog outside, and he really got the dog to have more. time out in the caravan with him living in a semi-detached house we lived in without a garden, so that was great. The hard part is that we are a blended family which means our son, my stepson, was not with us full time and we had Him all summer and then a couple of vacations too, but it was still very difficult to be away of him for most of the year, um, which is one of the main reasons why we stop being as much as we love.
Be in new places and explore them. It's hard to be in new places when it comes to grocery stores. You know, the stores you normally go to always change and a lot of the cities we went to were smaller and not. We don't have a lot of the same stores that we were used to, so that's another struggle we had and then just being around friends and family and having that community. Mind you, we met a lot of friends along the way that are full time travelers that we are still enjoying, we are still friends with each other, we made a lot of friends, but it was always hard to be around them just for a couple of weeks at most, I think Some we stayed with for a month, which was great, and then we left.
It's very hard for kids to not have that taste and we saw them over and over again, but just not having them around and having that community, um, or a constant or ever-changing community, so we definitely miss our family and friends. in Utah, so in closing, we love our V life, we loved it and we recommend it to anyone who can and wants to do it. I don't necessarily think we're leaving the RV life as opposed to just being like moving on to the next phase of life doesn't mean we have negative feelings about it, we're actually a little sad because we're done.
I'm really sad about the look of the trip, but it was just the right thing for a family at the time and you can have both, you may still need something more, but you still miss what you're letting go of and who knows what the future holds for you. , who knows if we will return to that, maybe years later. path we don't know, but this is just what we are doing right now, so for the moment we will continue to travel nationally and internationally and share all the information, so nothing will change here, but please let us know if you have any questions about RV Life in the comments, we'll be happy to respond and provide you with any resources we have, so be sure to stick around as we continue on adventures, share those destinations with you, and also give you some budget tips for family travel.
