least

favorite in the series and I will give the examples from the actual book which I actually re-read just for this video and I will look behind the camera during the making of the movie and point out what in my opinion went wrong and I say my opinion because this is based solely on my vision of the movie, everyone has their own opinion.

Looking behind the scenes, you can see that he is great with kids and is very passionate, however, I feel like he wasn't the right one. choosing to direct this film, it is clear that reading this book was an almighty task for him during interviews, he constantly complains about how long this book is and how tedious it was to read. The book is fake, it is almost twice as long as any of the previous ones. The other books, yeah, I read it in the book, they're huge, it's kind of a big house, the size of a brick, and he's not someone you want to direct a movie like this, comparing him to Chris Columbus, who directed both of them. first

films

, and Alfonso Curran, who directed. a third film before Columbus met with Warner Brothers for his initial interview, he sat down to read the book and wrote his own script for the first film and thought about how he was going to make every aspect of it and Korona, the three actors main characters, Dan Rupert and Emma wrote an

essay

about his character because he really wanted to immerse himself in each of his characters throughout the movie and knew that Rupert didn't.

He based this whole direction with Dan and Emma on these rehearsals so that they were on the same page and could make sure that they go deeper and explore their characters and what makes them tick. This is what you want to see from directors. They put real thought into each and every scene and go above and beyond, whereas Newell hadn't even read the book before getting the job. and he already watched the first three movies, he was making a sequel about how the Fonz workers realized this and told him to at least watch the first 40 minutes of his movie to get an idea of what the series is like after watching this new one got upset. because he was planning to make the movie super dark and innovative, but since Afonso had done that he said he couldn't do that and had to change it.
why the goblet of fire is my least favorite harry potter movie out of the 8 films video essay
I'm going to make it really dark and creepy and then Dean I went into his editing room and they showed me this dark and creepy world that he had created, so I had nothing to do, what was I going to do, I had to reinvent the wheel, this is Another quality you don't want in a director, he is literally competing with the other directors instead of working with them, they even used certain actors to try to outdo Alfonso and Chris, even though I knew he had great pieces of magic up his sleeve, one was Brendan Gleeson playing Mad Eye Moody and the other was Ray Fiennes.
Playing Voldemort in film school, I spent some time studying sequels and discovered that some of the best sequels are good because they are based on the last film. The newest thing he should have done was play with the darkness that Alfonzo was sad about, but instead because Newell wanted to. To compete with Alfonso, he made his main focus the opposite, focusing on comedy, so what I got was I got a funnier movie and not that this is a bad thing, it is a fun movie, but in my opinion, I think Alfonso actually did better. comedy and he was able to combine that comedy with the darkness very well.
I just wish the new guys had put aside their ego and competitiveness because we could have gotten a much better and more balanced movie, especially if it had moved away from the current darkness that was Alfonso. clearly trying to get him to do it by making him watch the first 40 minutes of his movie but Newell didn't get the hint now I'm ready to press some new information about this movie all wrong especially when he said he saw this movie as a Bollywood Movie which horrified the writers and producers mr. Mike Newell described the business of a Bollywood movie with a lot of horror and also said that he saw this movie as a Hitchcock thriller which, when you look at the book, is pretty accurate to the story, there is so much going on and the plot is kind of of mistery. thriller one of my favorite parts of the book Goblet of Fire is the mystery aspect of it, there are so many things that need to be solved like who put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire, who threw the dark market, the World Cup corpse Quidditch Jr. . actually commits the crime of use and imprisonment for what happened to Bertha Jorkins, a ministry employee who disappeared, who were the Weasley twins, blackmailing how Rita Skeeter got their stories when she was not allowed on the Hogwarts grounds and even the murder mystery in it.
In the first chapter, the question was who murdered the Riddle family, with all these questions in the air, it kept the reader interested and excited to continue reading and that is why this book is the favorite of many people in the series; Without a doubt, it's up to me. my third favorite, however, the movie eliminates all of this, so Newell saying that he was approaching this movie as a Hitchcock thriller now doesn't make any sense and let me explain that the most recent decisions made that mystery disappear completely. My biggest complaint is the way he handled Barty Crouch and his son Barty Crouch Jr.
His characters are the key to four of the seven mysteries I mentioned earlier, who named Harry and the Goblet of Fire that cast the dark mark on the dead Barda Jr. Commit the crime you were in prison for and what happened to Bertha Jorkins. Now I understand why they cut Bertha Jorkins, but the other three mysteries were addressed in this movie, but they were done in a way that ruins them in the movie they show us Bharti. jr. in the first scene with Voldemort and Wormtail, when Harry is dreaming something that wasn't true for the book, he was just tricking Martin Wormtail, so we immediately have this character in his head, which he wasn't supposed to do.
I think he's dead until the end of the book, as we're told he died in Azkaban years ago, then we see him catch the dark mark. Another mystery wasn't supposed to have the answer until the end of the book, so now I've spoiled two mysteries that pretty much define the book and made it so good, but I guess I could forgive this if they never said his name because then at least we don't know who it is even though we saw it, but then they continue. to show the trial where they lock him up and tell us his name and instead of making us wonder if he did it like in the books where he cried and screamed saying that he was innocent, he flatly admitted to having done the third mystery that defined the The book also disappeared, so how should they have approached this?
In fact, I have the answer. They should have shown him at the beginning but they got the impulse of the test because then at least the mystery would still be alive without knowing his name or they should have just done it. he wasn't shown it at first and half of the trial scene was the first time he was introduced to him and then when Dumbledore is talking to him he tells Harry that he died years ago like everyone is supposed to think what to him. It happened exactly, it was sent. to Azkaban, if they had made these small changes, the movie could have adapted the strongest and most interesting part of the book and made the movie much better, especially since they removed the other mysterious aspects of how Rita Skeeter was getting her stories about the Weasley twins . there was the blackmail and the family murder mystery, so of the seven big mysteries that the book had, the movie only kept one and that was who put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire and that was a very good reveal.
I am not going to lie. I did a great job with that part, especially when Harry says that he never mentioned a graveyard in the graveyard. Yes there were others. I don't think I said anything about a teacher from the cemetery. It was a great piece of writing that wasn't in the books. I hate how though. they approached the Barty junior character, the whole language thing, and going back to how Newell's approaches this as a Hitchcock film, they cut perhaps the most Hitchcock scene in my opinion, where Barty Crouch Sr. arrives at Hogwarts and talks about madness, it's pretty chilling as it goes. from having no idea where he is talking about official ministry business to a made tree, to falling to his knees and struggling to get every word out saying he failed and needed to talk to Dumbledore, then a few minutes later he disappears and it's not until In the end we find out that Barda Junior killed him and buried his own father on the Hogwarts grounds, oh my god that would have been cool to see on screen but instead Noor decided to add a bunch of stuff that didn't make sense and asks so many questions, Dad.
The biggest example is the first task. I've talked about this before, but I'll go into more detail here in the books. The first task is isolated from the arena and the beginning of the first task in the movie was great, we see Harry. in real danger we see a huge dragon spit

fire

narrowly avoiding Harry and we see Harry Co like a ball of

fire

at him and right there is where he should have gotten the egg from, the sequence would have been perfect if they had stopped it there, They would have had more time to explore more interesting parts of the books, like the Barty Crouch scene I just mentioned, but instead we get this extended J scene outside the arena, not only would this never be allowed to happen because Harry literally he almost died and everyone just sat in the sand. do nothing but the dragon tamers would have stopped it right after the dragon broke free of its chains and Dumbledore would have stopped it to ensure Harry's safety and then just let the dragon fall to death and if not dead , it's a big responsibility to have a dragon free on Hogwarts grounds and it could potentially enter Muggle territory, so this whole scene is absolutely ridiculous for so many reasons and takes up so much time that it could have been better spent exploring less action in More Mystery and the worst part is that this scene was almost that much worse.
Mike knew that he originally wanted Harry and the dragon to go to the Forbidden Forest and burn it down. I was going to make the dragon burn down a forest and everyone who looked at me said friend. of course they were watching, you wish you just said you wanted to burn down the Forbidden Forest, one of the most important parts of the terrain, filled with too many magical creatures to fully count in your head, this is just another example of why nuo just isn't suitable for this film, it does not follow or respect the original material.
A 7-year-old could have told you that burning down the Forbidden Forest was a bad idea. Noah went on to say that he was ruthless in cutting scenes, so I was just ruthless with things that I couldn't see a way to do it, not the way adapting a book to the big screen should be approached and I understand that a lot of things had to be done. be eliminated because the book was the longest so far. and much longer than the first three books, I applaud him for cutting out Winky Dobby, the Dursleys, and Ludo Backman because he's right, we didn't need any of that in this movie, but he cut a lot of things that were essential like the I mentioned a lot of mysteries before and even when he chose the right things to keep, he ruined them.
One of the most disappointing things was that he cut the Quidditch World Cup short. The whole sequence felt very rushed and made the audience very excited. when we are about to see this incredible rise of the match it cuts to the next scene, one of my biggest complaints about this movie is Dumbledore and I have dedicated an entire section of this video just to talking about him. "There's Dumbledore's infamous scene," he said calmly. which has accumulated almost 8 million views on YouTube, did you put your name onthe Goblet of Fire? Harry Dumbledore asked calmly and this is just one example of how wrong they were.
Dumbledore in every scene in which he appears shouts and sounds angry if he is chosen there is no turning back. and all his scenes in the books are completely opposite to this and then Dumbledore cleared his throat and read Harry Potter Harry Potter I have already given evidence on this matter, he said calmly Severus Snape was in fact a Death Eater Severus Snape was in fact a Death Eater and before the fall of Lord Voldemort he became a spy for us, a big press, the Dumbledore in this movie is not a Dumbledore of the books in the books, he is almost always calm and rarely raises his voice the only time he really He raised his voice. the Goblet of Fire was when he broke in to save Harry from Barda junior and here we see a different side of Dumbledore that we had never seen before at that time, Harry completely understood from the first time people said that Dumbledore was the only wizard that Voldemort Had he ever feared, the look on Dumbledore's face as he stared at Mad Eye's unconscious form.
Moody was more terrible than Harry had ever imagined. There was no benign smile on Dumbledore's face. A gleam in his eyes behind the glasses there was cold fury in every line of his old face a sense of power radiated from Dumbledore as if he was emitting burning heat this was a huge scene and it was very important to his character however this scene in the The movie is ruined because Dumbledore seemed to be like this the entire movie, always screaming and going crazy, it's a real shame because that's one of my favorite Dumbledore moments and if he had been calm for the rest of the movie the way he was I was supposed to be there.
The scene in the movie would have actually been perfect, plus having Dumbledore grab Harry's arm to match Junior's dark mark body was so out of character, your armor literally hurts Harry while doing this, no. is true to his character at all and is something that Dumbledore in the books would never serve in the book after the initial terrifying moment he had; He calms down for the rest of this conversation, even though he is beyond disgusted by Barda Jr. He says he killed his father, he responded with the same soft voice. I feel like Richard Harris was a much better Dumbledore when it came to these scenes, but Michael Gambon really stood out and was the Half-Blood Prince, and I think he did that in some ways. that Richard Harris couldn't have done it in any way, although I hate Michael Gambon's portrayal of Dumbledore in the Kabul movie to dismiss and I don't think he's the only one to blame.
I think Mike Norcia blames him for this and a few other things that bothered me. in this movie was the fact that no one decided to make Bo batten at the girls' school, lovely ladies of beauxbatons magic academy and durmstrang at the boys' school, please say hello to the proud sons of dogs, Frank, again, the newest, just spending on the original material. I hated how they showed us the point of view through Moody's eye and even worse that they gave it a technological feel, even adding the camera noise when zooming ruins the magic and mystery of his eye and adding digital elements to the Wizarding World . it's just horrible, especially since this book was the one where they explained that mobile technology doesn't work at Hogwarts because there's too much magic in the air.
If Noah had read the book this movie was based on more carefully, he would have vetoed the sound effect. and the camera's point of view was taken immediately. One thing that is super disturbing to me is the fact that they made the Death Eaters' robes too similar to the KKK's. This is something that caused a lot of stir when this movie came out and they continued. to change his appearance in the next movie and for good reason this movie also added some things just for the sake of adding things that are mostly non-canonical in the books and I just made up like Dumbledore talking about how he said his curtains in his bed on fire I never They liked these curtains, I set them on fire in my fourth year, but the worst thing they added that was invented was a line that in a bad mood said that Barty Crouch does not try with you or participate in one of the ministry summers.
Internships are lost, boy, he entered the Department of Mysteries, he never left. This is really terrible because nowhere in the books is there any mention of any ministry internship for students, but I guess I could believe there are internships if they hadn't said it was in the department of mysteries the lost boy entered the department of mysteries he never left the department Mysteries is one of the most secret departments of the ministry and the employees who work there are known as unspeakable, they describe this job by saying that little is known. about their workspace and even less is known about their jobs.
Employees of the Department of Mysteries are prohibited from talking about their jobs or revealing any information about them due to the high level of secrecy surrounding their department, so the fact that they simply released this line without doubt is an Easter egg. to the fans, it shows that they have no idea what they are talking about, there is no way they would give this very important and secret job to an intern, it is just ridiculous and the fact that the Unspeakables were literally introduced in this book . The show is the little that Mike Newell read before making this film.
It's just sad and the only thing that shows this is the line where Voldemort says, especially all the dirty muggle mothers. This line was not in the book because his mother was not a muggle. I think The word you're looking for is mudblood or muggleborn, although knowing Voldemort he probably knew mudblood, but the fact that Noah let this era pass him by is just horrible. Another thing I want to talk about is the third task in the maze. It had been a while since I read this book and I actually thought I would prefer the movie version, but after re-reading Goblet of Fire for this video I realized how much I prefer the book version in the book they had.
He passes different creatures throughout the maze, such as boggarts, Kreutz's sphinxes, etc., but in the movie the maze itself is what is alive. Noah said that he did this because he thought that in the book the labyrinth reduces the characters to their animal components. and they become wild, wild and uncivilized, it's like he reduces you to your animal components and you become a wild, wild and uncivilized moon and he thought that the creatures in the book couldn't do that, but for the labyrinth to be alive, it The only thing I could do was none. Of them were wild and savage in the book, the only person this could be argued for was Viktor Krum, but that was because he was under the Imperius curse, it was not because he was in the labyrinth, this once again shows how little Newell understands about the source material and how poorly he read the book, he tried to make it psychological when that wasn't the point of the maze, the point of the maze was to use your wits and magical ability.
Have we spent weeks practicing spells, hexes and curses? To prepare and launch the third task in the book, he used them to fight the creatures and his mind was not tested psychologically, but his wits were tested as he had to answer a riddle that his Fink is gay. If they continue, we will completely miss the point. of the labyrinth and again I invented something out of nothing adding psychological aspects. It's an interesting concept, but it has no place in the scene or even in this movie you can't change or dub the original material because it leaves too many.
The plot holes cause the movie to have inconsistencies and now upset fans of the book. As much as I don't like this movie, like I said, I still love it at the same time. There are a lot of good things about it, mainly some of the writing in this film. One of my favorite changes from a book to a movie and it was a big part of writing the scene I'm talking about is the one where they cut Dobby out of the movie, sulked and gave Neville the book on herbology, this is how

harry

discovers gillyweed. for the second task, but you can always kill a white witch in the book, it was Moody's original plan for Harry to discover how to breathe underwater, but it didn't work because Harry was too proud to ask for help, so when he adopted the book, In the movie, he took the failed plan that only had a small mention in the book and made it part of the main plot to ensure that Dobby was eliminated, leaving much more room for other more important things, such as never a long bond under the witness that Wonder could have had.
I gave you Gilly, wait she, if she hadn't given him the book she led him straight to it. The second task was amazing and broke new ground for special effects. The fact that Daniel Radcliffe trained for six months and spent over 40 hours underwater is crazy. and it was really worth it, the graveyard scene is pretty perfect and like Voldemort's return, although new and almost ruined, Voldemort's appearance chose not to get rid of Voldemort Snopes which is a big part of his character, luckily the team convinced him otherwise and they removed his nose with CGI and this would of course continue for the rest of the series.
I loved that they showed the pen game before Harry discovered it, especially since it plays a very important role for the future of the series. This movie also houses one of my favorite Easters. eggs which is an occult sign of the Deathly Hallows and you have to remember this movie was made in 2005 and the Deathly Hallows book didn't come out until 2007 and to be honest I'm still not sure how they knew that maybe JK had something to do with it. Who knows, I also have a lot of respect for the fact that they didn't tone down this story to make it PG, instead they chose to make it more mature and get the series' first pg-13 rating even though they knew they could do it.
They lose some of their younger audiences because of this in general. I don't hate this movie, but I gave my reasons why it's my least favorite in the series. Newell did a good job with some parts of this film, especially the technical parts, because there are some really great camera work and some really interesting shots that contain a lot of emotion, however, I am glad that Newell resigned to make way for David Yates, since Yates would make my favorite movie in the franchise right after this one, be careful with my video I say it's about the rest of the movies and the franchise.
I plan to make one for each film in the series, as well as the two fantastic Geese

films
