right

now yeah, uh, because the bus Katanas are obviously some of the most populous popular

amps

of the last decade.

I would say they are the best sellers in both, uh, solid state heads, solid state combo, solid state board, they have changed, in some ways they have changed the game, so many of you. You have those

amps

, a lot of you use them, a lot of you love them, but if you're new to the

katana

family, it can be a little confusing to know, okay, I want the 50, I want the 212, 100. I want the twelve hundred what is it? the difference what's the response I get with it where do I get an effects loop exactly how can I do midi and all that stuff this video is for you yeah yeah yeah there's a lot Aaron yeah thank you. yeah, and also for those sizes that make some sense in the rehearsal room, uh, we'll do a little simulation here.

I jump to hit some drums for the game and the game is going to range between 50 and 100, probably on all of those and I'll find out. that gives you that volume and sounds like already enjoyable pressure, that will get you through a good rehearsal or a smaller gig, no, yeah, so why don't we start with the seven? What monster is to my left? Yes,

which

one is he? mini alien so sweet so handy and now runs on rechargeable batteries yeah which is probably the best thing about this just take six of those rechargeable batteries and use them wherever you want and when they're empty charge them that's right and you don't have to murder the planet, yes, beautiful, it's a good plan, it also works with a power supply, you can get as a separate

boss

a 9 volt 350 milliamp power supply, it's great, super practical, for me, it's one of the ones that sound better. uh tabletop apps this is with the kitchen guitarist yeah this is for the living room guitarist yeah exactly what you're going to have lying around wherever you have a comfy seat or a comfy couch put it on a backpack, put it on. this room in that room in this room and have something to have fun with basically thank you foreign foreign because it allows you to not use cables but we forgot to charge the geometry receiver, so we are using a cable and it is charging right now.

I was about to use it and then it didn't turn on, yes, but hey, that's up to us, it's much more capable, smarter, more versatile, yes, the equipment costs more too, so sure, yes, it's not a bit , We are not. uh the price is going up, let's go size wise, if you want pricing and all the details obviously check the link in the description, it will have the entire

katana

family listed there, so let's go size wise, but this is the full version. Katana experience blown exactly, meaning you have all the knobs, all the features, the effects and everything you get from the apps, you get the software editor, so it really does pretty much the same thing as modeling amps much larger, usually, it is very compact.

The main point of that amp is that I am a recording guitarist. I have my I want to record the guitar bounce. I want all the sounds. I want all the effects. I want to be able to edit different patches. Different presets. That's it, leave your desk. USB cable USB to your computer you ordered because no matter how loud it is, it will be more enjoyable to play in the room because of the kind of sonic feedback you will get while playing the amp, but other than that. I think the main purpose of the air, besides being the super complete practice amp, will be the recording tool, thank you foreigner, thank you, whoa, whoa, and that's the

boss

Katana 50.
They're all Mark twos, except the ones that that didn't get the Mark II yet, but yeah, once we start getting into the big boy combo, uh, Big Boy Amp Land combo and this is the most popular one, this is the best seller, this is the boss Katana What else are people going to need, let's say it's the 50 watt version of the combo. It has all the effects. It has all the channels. It has power. We'll get to that soon but you can also use it with the FS2. foot switch, the small two channel foot switch, it's a big arm that goes from 0.5 to 50 watts, so that's the bedroom amp, that's the uh, you know, maybe we'll figure it out, but that is, yes, the intermediate type of the best. seller and for good reasons, so it's kind of a trick to pair with those uh Katana and the combos mainly because a bus did a really good job of emulating, I'm going to say, the SAG of a real tube amp, so Se You'll notice a lot in the cleans, maybe a little less when you turn the high level and compression back up, but those amps have a trick to getting the most out of them if you turn up a lot with the master.
I don't think you have it. to max it out but turn it up and then work your max volume here with the power control which is like a power attenuator basically plus the amp volume you can get all kinds of volumes and keep that Master away yeah thanks foreigner it's good. This is a 300 watt Katana Mark II, it is very loud, yes I am getting a bit loud and this will obviously be the main advantage of the 100 watt, it is a no brainer if you are in a band situation. you're rehearsing, you can play with the whole Brass Band, this is fine, everything will be fine, uh, you'll hear yourself, the loudest drama in the world will be, uh, well, we'll see, we'll see, but yeah, so this is it. obviously the main advantage, this will be your second best advantage, this is the first one within the katana range that has the extended uh footswitch and so what that allows you to do is basically switch from any preset to any another preset, uh on. the fly live uh

compared

to a 50 that would have had maybe just the two um the FS2 switch and like toggling between two presets this is much more comprehensive, you can use it to turn similar separate sections of the amp on and off like the multi effects, yeah if you want to turn the delay on or off or you can use it for the channels your presets basically and you just go back and forth between them and then it's the pedal you want if you're playing live.
Here's the thing and we'll get to the second one very soon, but the 100 watt version is available as a 112 or 212, so if you're using the head or the head, of course, yes, but if you're using uh, if you don't want to part You know, break your back trying to carry a lot of heavier amps or whatever, this is basically the same size, pretty much the same weight as the katana 50, just a little bit more power, yeah, it's a little bit. a little wider, yeah, not much bigger, not really a big yeah, like wearing both at the same time, it's a barely noticeable difference, but you get the strength, you get the volume, you get the footswitch, so that's definitely the one and there's one more thing that I love this amp, it has an effects loop, so it has this if you want to use it, for whatever reason, you're a special time based modulation effect, something I want it to be part of my set because I wrote a song for it or whatever and you can't find it in the 100 built in boss effects that you can use from the katana itself, you can still plug it in or if you want to use a preamp and just use the power amp. of this DFX Loop is there and it is not available on the 50 watt Mark II only from the 100 watt one, yes onwards, strange, strange to me, the difference in the room is actually very noticeable, in terms of power, it will be the same. hundred in terms of perceived volume difference because you have the 212, you have a lot more cabinets in the space, a lot more bass, like natural bass, uh, on that amp it's more fun to play, in my opinion, it's not going to do much more than 212, yeah,

compared

to the 112, 100 watts, it has the same features, it has the same output, the effects, loop, the footswitch, the direct output, all that, it's all inside, but you have two speakers.
It's a little bit heavier, but yeah, and it's a little bit. I think the difference in sound is that it speaks for itself, really, this is where you get to your sound, where if you blindfold the tube amp lovers, yeah, we're getting there, you know, yeah. Yes, foreigner, right, you started that progression. I knew exactly what the last note would be. I love that. Yes, on paper, it's very similar to The 100 Watts. It's a 11200 watt combo amp, but the Artist has a lot more features than you. You won't find it in the other products in the Katana range, namely the G12W speaker, which is the Waza speaker based on a famous British-made green speaker.
It's a modern version of that and it's also more capable of driving. the 100 watts of the amplifier, um, so yeah, you have the added benefits of the speaker, uh, what else will you find in this midi? The Artist Mark II also does midi which is new so if you like super complex midi controlled board and all those effects you can change whatever you want on the amp and there are some cool things here too like the counter switch in a tone way, which is something that the others didn't have just, yeah, so yeah. You're right, solo function, which means you can set an additional solo volume boost, yeah, for all those parts that you want to make a little bit louder, yeah, the solo, the midi stuff on the back, you'll find all Expansion options You also have the 100, you can pair them with another Katana to activate the stereo, that's something we forgot to mention on the 100 Watt versions, you can pair two of those to have a two amp setup, which is cool . super sweet and obviously you can do the same with the Artist too.
You have all the outputs and inputs, all the controls and the USB view and everything built into it before you finish this video. Let's try 50, 100 and this one. one of the artist with the drums to see what size it is where it starts to be like a real experience, yeah, joyful, playing it, okay, listening to yourself when someone is playing the beat, we will use it as a room microphone that will be set up roughly between the two and try to give the fairest representation of what we're hearing in the room and uh, but yeah, let's do it, let's do it um foreigner foreigner foreigner your impressions other than I'm not a drummer and you Come on, no, you did it well, you did well, I wouldn't play stadiums with that, uh, maybe two of them as funny as that, yeah, obviously, that was more for the joke, whether it's for the meaning of the year, I think any of the 50, 100, 100 to 12 and the artists would be fine, wow, I wouldn't trust the 50 to stay clean, okay, strong, exactly, okay.
I think we need a little more headroom for that distorted playback which was mostly fine. and that was it, I think at least a lot louder than that, if you have a super loud drummer, yeah, a lot of symbols and all that, yeah, so 50, depending on the context, I wouldn't recommend depending on 100, really. I mean, if you play that, you know, uh Café, whatever Jazz Café Café Café Jazz holy situation so loud that's surprising, for sure I really enjoyed it like I heard you even with the air I'm facing Yeah, I heard you, yeah , I was going for it. but these 50 started to sound good, yes, and from the 100 they started to sound very big, yes, the 100 sure sounded great, the 212 was still my favorite in terms of balance.
I used exactly the same settings on all the amps except for the level which varied between nine and 12 and this one which is fully triggered obviously, but the tonearms I barely used half at half power as they almost all transfer back Well, we hope for that. that this video was helpful maybe you finally figured out which app was right for you now you know this one is strong enough this one isn't strong enough this one does exactly what you wanted to do we hope that's the point of doing this so yeah If you need more information, more specifications, prices, check the link in the description box below and what else, yes, we will see you in the comments section, yes, if there is anything you want to share with your Katana. your question that we didn't answer let us know in the comments below, don't forget to subscribe to the channel, ring the bell and all that fun stuff, until next time, bye.
