I did was I went ahead and just ran the uh plugged into the little port here okay guys and I want to know if I'm going to buy this truck where the injector balance rate, so basically what it's doing is it's showing you each cylinder and it's basically giving you more or less depending on what each cylinder needs to fire correctly, and that's what the rates are doing. of injector balance now if it will say anything within the realm of minus four or plus four, okay, if they are within that zero to minus four plus four, it's a good injector, that's where I'm referring to if you read fives. or negative five or seven or whatever, then it's bad, okay, so this truck is in very good condition.

It is important that

when

you check the injectors on these trucks, you check them at idle going down the highway with a throttle that you are not going to get. a good reading, if it's a reading, they'll probably go to zero and a flat line all the way, uh, you should check them at idle while it's running, but you get the gist, okay, you know where it's going, but what I will tell you. your is that if the injector or injectors are bad don't buy the truck, it's okay because then you are spending a lot more money than you don't need at all, let's show you the quick way on a road because this is the most common.

The problem on Olys is how to check your head if the head gaskets are bad and you don't have time to do a pressure fit. Oh yeah, what I do at the auction before I buy a truck is

you open the hood after a truck. Sitting up overnight, you want to check this big upper radiator hose right here, okay, now if the head gaskets are bad, this is going to be rock hard. Note: I can push down all the way, almost touching my fingers now as it heats up. and the trucks running will get harder but it won't be rock hard and the other way you can check is to come here to see this overflow of your coolant here and basically do it slowly on the truck check if it's on doubt because it can explode and go up there oh yeah so basically what would happen is a bunch of air will squirt over the top almost like a geyser type situation and that's how you know your truck has bad head gaskets because you're going to having compression built up in your engine and it has nowhere to escape, absolutely excellent point Alex, sometimes when these head gaskets are bad and you take this cover off, obviously when it's not hot out, make sure the truck is running, have the lid. turn it off and just see if there are any air bubbles inside that overflow tank because that will definitely indicate that you guys have a head gasket, so you'll see that too, because basically where it leaks from, if you do it while driving, it will come. here, so you'll see coolant residue on almost the entire front passenger side of the engine compartment, that's a good indication that you've been having head gaskets for quite some time and then you'll also want to check because some people like to get their people, what they'll do is drill a little hole somewhere around this coolant tank to let all that pressure out, so there's no pressure built up anywhere, so you definitely want to check. that's just in case because you never know what people are selling these days, especially with the

used

truck, another thing that I see quite common is that when the truck hasn't been turned on overnight, you'll see this hose completely compressed and almost like Aspira now, usually when that happens a lot of people think it's bad head gaskets and sometimes it can be, but what I discovered over time is that this hose is basically flat as a rock, almost like a back pressure vacuum cleaner, which is where you normally have problems. thermostats and I have learned that over time now that is not always the case, this hose may be compressed and it could be bad head gaskets, but then you need to do a compression test and see where it is.

Did you ever check the step too? Yeah, of course, um, so basically it's a good way to check the step. I know most people know this is what you're going to start there, so basically you're going to want to set up. this cap upside down, start and if you have excess, this cap will fall off immediately, so I mean this cap. I've seen six fours, uh, fords, where I mean the exhausts so high, you can see the actual vapors coming out. this high and that's why the six four have problems with the piston, but we can go ahead and crank this up and we'll check the exhaust on this truck, let's go ahead and put this cap on here and we'll see that this engine has virtually no knock, it's rattling a little bit, but that's just because the engine is rattling, but if this truck had a hard knock, it would basically eventually go off and vibrate right away, and if it's really bad, I mean, you might not even be able to.

To set this up here, I've seen that case before, but as you can see, we can set it up there without any problem. Let's say you're out and about and want to see if the truck has bad injectors. Well, it doesn't have them. a fancy five thousand dollar snap scanner and you don't have your edge scanner or your monitor so what you're going to want to do is basically start the truck and you want to do this cold with a lot of people. will start your truck before you even get there, that's usually an indication that there is something wrong with the glow plugs or headlights.
I guess you have to have the right set of keys to start the truck match, just blow the keys here, no. bad there you go we're going to start this truck and she's been locked she's been sitting here all night we're going to go back to the exhaust what I usually like to do is bring two people because I'm going to have them start get the truck up while I sit here and watch now on an lb7 you'll see this a lot, you'll get a big white pop or maybe a grayish white, maybe even a blue tent and that's when you usually know your truck is rolling over.
Too much fuel and it's leaking out here, so another indication that they have bad injectors. Well, guys, another one. There are a few other things I would like to point out. I'm making this a series now, so there's a lot I'm missing. Guys, so you can leave in the comments if there's anything that I'm missing or that Alex is missing, but one thing that there are a few things that I would like to check, especially with the independent front suspension on these Silverados, these GMCs is the tie. the wheel bearing rotates, so I would suggest this car salesman put it on that hoist.
I want to shake these tires. I want to go check the wheel bearings. Most people shake them from side to side, but that's not the case. the case when you are making a wheel bearing when you make a wheel bearing you want to go up and down even there is a lot of play in it yes it could be a ball joint but first this will be your first check of your um how are you going to check the bearing of the wheel now to check the ball joints? Unfortunately, you're going to have to lift this front end up and then you're going to have to put the front end down on the jack stand so that you have no weight on the truck and then you can

at this one, but guys, basically what I'm saying and I'll show you in a later video is that there's a little hole that we call the drain hole that's in the water pump, it's actually right underneath it and that's a indication. If your water pump is faulty, then you may have a cooling leak.
Another good way to check your front end is to look at the person's tires because you will see that if they have a side, the inside is cupped or not, I mean this one. barely cupped so you can see this person didn't rotate the tires or since we fixed the front end there could have been slight ball joint play as this inner tread here is further inboard and you could even see it on the abroad. Typically you won't see it in the middle, it's either lower or higher than the inner tread, which is usually a good indication that you have something wrong with the front end.
It's usually a ball joint set and you can see it from this. I know it's hard to see on camera that this is just one point lower than this inner tread here, so if you can run your hand over it and feel that it's not level, I mean you can go ahead and negotiate with the person you are with. Buying from Hey, you will soon need some work on the front end and another indication is the Womp feeling, that's what I call it, when the tires are wet you can feel them rippling, so that's a very good point.
Basically the reason I bought this truck is because it was a one owner truck made here in Michigan and another place you can go and see that all your three quarter tons, as far as I know, are made here in Flint Michigan , so this truck I usually have a sticker here, so let's go look at the next truck so we can show you exactly where this truck is made. The three quarters of a ton must come from this same plant here built in Flint Michigan, right above where I grew up, in Vance. Lake and Bristol Road in Flint Michigan, so that's a good indication of where this truck is known to be.
A lot of trucks come from Canada and people want to ask, how do I know if this truck is from Canada? Because all the trucks are going to have this sticker that says they are made in Flint and then imported to Canada, so I buy some Canadian vehicles. It's not a habit I like, but let's take a look at this Dodge and I'll show it to you. how can you determine if this truck came from a candidate or not, so we'll go ahead and open this door now. Any of these trucks that come from Canada will have this little maple leaf sticker right here, whether it's a GM Ford or a Dodge, so this.
It's a good indication that this truck is from Canada. You usually also see one of these stickers right here that says who it was imported from. This is the lbz. I know it came from Michigan, but we'll look here and choose. in my truck for a minute people were asking me how come this truck has so much rust on the frame and only has 76,000 miles on it. Well I'll tell you how that happens, basically what they had here is maybe an old farm truck that was probably sitting around. in the grass for quite a while and I didn't have the frame, you know, cleaned daily, so what we're going to do to this truck is go over it, sand the frame and then recoat it.
It has a little undercoating on it, so that's something you should also look at when shopping for trucks, especially those crossmembers. Yes, this one has original rockers and cab corners. We can sit and look down here and you can see a lot of ways you can do it. Tell me if it has original rockers and cabin corners. We can look at the ridges on the bottom of this seesaw and see how there's a ridge here, a ridge here, a ridge here now we'll see the truck next to it because I think one has been In fact, right here, see these are all good rockers and corners of the cab, now let's go check out my next truck right here, which has been approved by the previous owner.
Note that we didn't do this, but this will give you how you can see it. look how all the ridges are gone look at all those that don't have ridges so basically with the person and you can see the rust right here it's all been covered so what they did was basically take a lot of body putty that reached this rocker panel. you can see how uneven it is, you can even see the overspray on the frame right here, whoever did this didn't do a very good job because it doesn't matter if you have rocker rust or if you don't cover it, it could last maybe six months if You're lucky, maybe a year if you did it right, but the only proper way to do it is to cut this corner of the cockpit here at the body line and we're going to go ahead and cut off all the rockers.
Oh, it's getting pretty nasty. Here everything is still there because they use body filler, but when you go to make your ownrockers and corners of the cab, just cut them completely off, so we talked about the 07 lbz 24 000. He's going to go ahead and do the uh. Basically, he's going to go ahead and ruin the frame, make it pretty, pretty, pretty, and fix it, so he wants 24,000, is that right? Yeah, and I'm basically talking about what I'm seeing at market prices right now. The truck is a clean lbz with about 150,000 or 150,000 miles on it, still worth probably about 20 grand.
I wouldn't pay much more than that, but that's because the rockers and cabin corners are clean. Yes, now let's go to a lly. let's say about 150,000, they usually go somewhere between the teens and pound, let's say they are clean, the injectors have been done, they usually stay rated around 11 or 12 if they are done correctly, so these I bought trucks for 10 uh 10,950. It has 366 again. There are only 60,000 miles on the engine. One of the good deals I think I got here is a one ton Chevy. This is a 2012 LML. It has 227,000 miles on it, but this new truck was close to 75,000.
Oh easy, yeah, I got this price right, I think at 21,750. Yeah, it's a good price, it really is, yeah , and you're getting the lml and It doesn't look like I've serviced this truck myself and there are no parts whatsoever, so you're getting an original lml, yes it has high mileage, but it's a really good truck, it's really nice, works great and just looks beautiful now, I guess we can go over some dodge prices right here. This is a 2006, one of the last years of the five nine common railroad. uh I got this price on a fifteen thousand dollar truck and I'll tell you why. because this is a mega cab and if you go to the open market right now, there just aren't too many mega cabs out there, this was a quad cab that probably only 11,12,000 trucks have, but you get that extra cab and that extra back seat.
Sorry it's dirty, but it's a hard truck to find, especially when Ford or GM don't make a cab that big. I mean, you can see this back seat here is all the way back, you have plenty of room for one person. that's over six feet you can sleep right here in the center if you want yeah oh yeah so how much do you want for this truck? It's a 15,000 truck, here it's a nice truck and we have this beautiful lbz
