We Found A Vintage Drag Rail, Will It Still Run?

Jun 01, 2021
I remember about five years when the truck got higher, yeah, too much, got too stuck, yeah, trying to work on things and then it's time to go, we all try to keep it all covered around the third, okay, that's it your property there too, son. you want all that from there, do something exactly, you have old cars there, no, don't mess with him, just you, eh, dying, dying, merchant, wait here, my son, he wants the f 10 and then he won't . sure you show me your trans m and I heard you had it before I left oh barbara you say it yes any crime is not for sale I have to go straight to it there is one in a 68 in maysville behind this woman's house it's a four - fast car and uh, she didn't own it, although she said the owner owned it and I dropped off her car to see if it was roasted, you know, but it's

a 68 four-speed, you know, but it was probably there. 20 30 years yes, they accommodated me.

I'm letting it be too lazy to put the camera right there. Yeah, I need to let this swell a little bit. I have the same type of small air compressor. Thanks for watching, it's okay. man Greg, alright alright alright go away so we bought the old 34 wagon from my friend sunny and they said he was probably racing it probably well he said he was racing it probably in the late 90's , I mean, but another one of those stories where you know these old timers are getting old now and they can't keep up with these types of cars anymore, so they pushed them up a slope and that was the end and we made it.

More Interesting Facts About,

we found a vintage drag rail will it still run...

We were able to find out that my son and I were able to rescue it and we are very excited, so we

will

see if we can't make it work. He needs a lot of work and maybe I can get him to jump. but that's bad, how often do you get the chance to rescue something like that? Not very often afterwards, who knows what we should do, he's really messing with my head. That's pretty good guys, let's do an update video so day two is a little accomplished. Today, I just cleaned the wiring on this thing.

I had wires everywhere as usual, even on an old

vintage

rail

drag

ster, it's just like my cars, I pull wires all the time alone for days and it drives me completely crazy. when it didn't get cleaned, so I just cleaned up some of the wiring, uh, let's see, oh, I re-ran the external oil filter lines, those were pretty cracked and just needed to be changed, the oil filter I took off, that thing it was a Beast, I had to start hitting it with a hammer to get it to go off just because it's been on for so long and then on this side let's see, oh I had to get a new one of those little rat rod tanks I tried .

I picked up the holes in it and then kept making holes, it was so thin and corroded underneath. I even had my friend James come over and he was having a problem with it too so I ended up ordering a new one. It was like 130 dollars, it sucks. I wanted to keep that one, but I couldn't do anything with it. I mean, the only thing he could really do is start making silicone holes at that point, so it's not a huge amount. deal though we can

still

get it try to start it without that of course I throw gas right into the car see what it does and other than that guys I released the shifter so it's in park and let me see what. more I have to do only that is on the list and this list is in my mind it is not written I have to do like the roadkill guys and put a cardboard box and start marking things but what I do like I said it was I'm going to start from back and just moving forward, well I say this in all my videos, things just start to dominoes and affect my intentions.
It's good to start somewhere in the back and then when I continue towards the front, that leads to something else. and then I branch off like I'm a fucking tree branch man and it goes into other things, but I try to do my best to take it in sections like I was telling you at the beginning, but other than that, let's see oh, what do I have to do, uh, sorry guys, I'm a brick wall here valve cover gaskets. I have to go back to advanced auto for the 10th time today and get valve cover gaskets.
I'll slam them shut. Put the plugs back in, reconnect the wires, I'm not even going to get wires or anything right now, I'm just going to see if it turns on, we already talked about the gas line, we're just going to flush the gas. the card uh it had a little outboard motor here to run the water pump and that's frozen so I had to get one of those still Lincoln and hinder us from starting. It's okay, I just have to be careful to heat it up, but that's it. should still be fine and a valve cover gasket on this side connects on this side different wires from that guys, I think that's it and uh oh, I started to figure out some of these switches, the coil on this one, this one, no I know what the hell he does, no, I haven't really figured out what he's doing.
This was the nitrous button right here, so we cranked it up and then this goes to the starter relay and the fan, so that should be it. I got the uh the gas pedal came free and the only thing I haven't even messed with yet is I have to start figuring out the rear brakes on this thing so I know I'm going to have to get a new master cylinder which always its the first. That's starting to freeze up and I'll probably have to get some wheel cylinders, but I'll take these wheels out and see what they look like.
Sometimes I can get lucky and the wheel cylinders

will

still be fine. I know the Cornet 500 was like that. The wheel cylinders were fine, but who knows, that's the upgrade. I was hoping that today I could start trying to get it out, but I think it will be tomorrow. I hate these cables, the way they just dangle drives me crazy anyway, but it's okay because it's just for powering and I'm going to change them and then I'll make them look really nice and I'll keep them hidden on the side and all that. um oh I wanted to show you so my friend James who we were talking about in my last video this little rat rod today we were trying to fix the holes with it and I was trying to braise the holes and I was able to.
I didn't get my temps right and I started doing a good job and then it wasn't like filling the hole and then I feel like it filled everything right. I went out and filled it with water and then it was leaking again. I tried. I did it about three or four times, I just couldn't get it right. James came and tried to do the same thing I told you yesterday. He was out of luck and we started to realize that the tank was just corroded. the bottom, so it's not a big deal, I went and bought it, but he took it and I didn't think he was going to turn out as well as he turned out.
I didn't think he thought I was trash and um, he. I went and had it repaired at his little machine shop that he knows and it turned out so good the patches came out perfect, the welds came out beautiful and I really want to thank them for doing that for me, that really helps me, so I was even able to keep, you know, the nostalgia for the original tank they put in, you know, back in the day. Incredible work, thank you. James, I appreciate it. It will work very well. I've been wandering. I'm investigating these boards.
Amber, she always connects me to Advanced Auto. Shout out to her and her team. I know I always get there with some crazy stuff with these old

vintage

cars, but, um, these joints, this rookie had a set, they're just yours. average court, but they have like little circular rings there for the pins to go through. I've never had a game like that before. That's good, it makes it easier because they always want to move when you put the valve cover back on and These are just nice, they line up very easily, so I appreciate that, thanks amber, yeah, let's go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and Run the fuel line next, see how well it goes and other than that, guys, I think that's it. man I know and uh, we'll start pranking him and see what he's going to do, it won't just be uh, like this, like this, like that, like that, wow, there are no brakes, honey, the tire was going crazy or the brake was locked, so you.
