point that Afton realizes the power of children's souls. It is here that he first sees the animatronics moving freely, possessed by the spirits of the dead children and activated by the Puppet. And here, until the end of the series, his mission changes. He is no longer limited to killing children. He is now seeking to actively harness that power so he can be immortal. It's a goal he expresses in "The Fourth Closet." He quotes: "You killed them..." "They died with the suits." "Their bodies were bound inside, along with their souls." "It seems that the spirit follows the flesh," "and also the pain." "If I wish to become my own immortal creation," "my body must guide my spirit to its eternal home." This affects all of his future actions in the series.

So when the withered animatronics are sent back to the FNAF 1 location for storage and the possible reopening of the pizzeria, William tracks them down to dismantle them and discover the power of him. This leads to the FNAF 3 scenes where William systematically lures the original animatronics into the back safe room, one by one, only to dismantle them. Before, these scenes seemed super random. It just seemed like he was trying to get rid of the animatronics for... reasons. But now, thanks to the novels, we know why he did it: dissect the robots and experiment on them. And it is these experiments that end up producing the Funtime animatronics.

A big lingering question mark from the series was the nature of the Funtime animatronics deep underground during Sister Location. How were they alive? Were they possessed by more dead children? Well, we finally have our answer, courtesy of Candy Cadet and The Fourth Closet. Now, in FNAF 6, Candy Cadet's stories were a bit mysterious. Each one had to do with five things becoming one. Five keys melted down, five orphans sewn together to fit in a coffin, five kittens sacrificed and then combined to fit in a shoe box. It seemed like he was referring to Ennard, the fusion of all the other animatronic parts, but the math was always a bit clumsy.

Ennard consisted of Baby, Ballora, Funtime Freddy, and Funtime Foxy, which are just four animatronics. Maybe if you squinted you'd include the Bonnie puppet, but that seemed like a stretch and as a result we weren't quite sure what was going on with those stories. Fortunately, the release of "The Fourth Closet" has clarified

this

mystery. Quote: "A single figure stood still in the midst of the chaos," "out of step with the surroundings." "At first he looked like a man leaning over a table", "but as Carlton's head throbbed" "with waves of confusion", "the man turned into a yellow rabbit", "not standing on a table, but over five children , " "united as one..." "He knew exactly what he was looking at: " "the endoskeletons of the original," "Freddy's animatronics, welded and molten," "immobile and featureless," "and still inhabited by the spirits of the children" "that had been murdered within them" "all those years ago." "Still full of life, movement and thought..." "all trapped; all in terrible pain." End of quote.
So in the FNAF 3 scenes we see William dismantling the animatronics. From there he melts his endoskeletons to discover the secret of his eternal life. He then uses this molten spiritual metal, Remnant, to breathe life into his new creations, The Funtime animatronics. He quotes again: “The surface of the table glowed orange,” “and the hot metal hissed.” "William took a syringe from the woman's hand" "and rammed it hard into the squirming thing." "He lifted the plunger, holding the needle steady while" "the syringe was filled with molten substance..." "he staggered toward the bear." "The man reopened the heavy chest plate" "of the broken and standing bear," "then he carefully inserted the syringe he was holding" "directly into the chest cavity" "and began to press the plunger down." What this and the Candy Cadet stories tell us is that the Funtimes weren't just possessed by new kids.
They were created from the remnant of the original five fused into a confusing and chaotic spiritual chaos. As Ennard said in his original Sister Location preview: There's a part of me in every BODY. From those experiments, William is able to open "Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rentals", Sister Location's underground facility. Using remnants, he brings to life animatronics specifically designed to attract and trap children, so that he can have more test subjects for his experiments. He then rents out the robots for special events at other locations. Why isn't there a Funtime Chica in Sister Location? Simply because she is rented.
We see this hidden in the source code of Scott's website at the time of Sister Location's release. Chica's Party World is a separate location, a client of Afton Robotics. And as such, they won't keep her underground with the rest of them. That's why she left, only to reappear in FNAF 6 and Custom Night. But there was one thing that William Afton did not foresee in all of his plans: the spirits of children wanting revenge. Now freed from their animatronic prisons, they corner William in the safe room of the first Freedy Fazbear restaurant, forcing him to hide in Bonnie's golden suit, which slams shut and nearly kills him, but not quite.
He simply transforms it into Springtrap. The restaurant seals the safe room and everything inside to avoid liability. "The safe rooms mentioned above are being sealed in most places, including this one." To me, these look like Henry's actions. Who else would seal a live, bloody body in a hidden room of a pizzeria? Henry seems like the best option, but we can't be sure. Anyway, Afton is locked up there until 2023, when Fazbear Fright is released. The phone guy discovers the hidden room and frees Afton, now Springtrap, once again. From there we know practically everything else. Springtrap chases Fazbear Fright, only to have him burned.
It seems to me that this, again, was Henry's doing. Ultimate Custom Night's

custom

samurai scenes symbolize your relationship. William Afton is Zorro and Freddy is Henry, the bear of revenge. The last line of dialogue in these Samurai scenes says it best. "I will pursue the fox. I will find him in whatever land he has fled to. It is my destiny and his." Throughout the

game

s, Henry constantly tries to frustrate William more and more. He starts by getting himself kicked out of the FNAF 2 location. He then tries to get him arrested after the missing children incident. He catches it, bleeding and trapped in the walls of Freddy Fazbear's, and eventually sets it on fire, not only once in Fazbear Fright, but a second time in Pizzeria Simulator.
Meanwhile, the reconstructed Michael Afton, Michael version 2.0, seeks out his father to get some answers. He begins in Sister Location, he meets Baby, but falls victim to the plot of the angry tangle of spirits contained in the various Funtime animatronics. Together, they form Ennard and collect Michael's body in an attempt to escape his prison. The pickup plan works, but Michael survives, because he remembers that he is a robot. The baby seems to know this based on the repeated use of: * "You won't die" repeated * More in need of answers than ever, Michael promises his father: Michael: "I'm going to come get you." Which brings us up, AT.
LAST. A FNAF 6. Although the puppet tried to release the spirits of dead children in FNAF 3, it doesn't quite work. This is because the spirits were no longer complete. With parts of his soul now trapped in Funtime's animatronics. Which are now in the form of Molten Freddy. This is why "Paragraph 4" is so important in FNAF 6. According to the final blueprints of Insanity, Paragraph 4 stipulates that all creatures containing remnants must be in the pizzeria by the end of the week. So that when it burns, everyone goes with it. Any remaining remnant must be purged so that the souls are finally freed.
Michael accepts the role of

night

guard at the simulated pizzeria, Henry summons all the animatronics there, burns everything down, and finally frees them all. Including condemning William to hell. Well, he didn't free everyone. Golden Freddy, still a vengeful spirit, has unfinished business with Willy. Then she traps him in purgatory, forcing him to suffer for eternity at the hands of the monsters he created. And even though Old Man Consequences tells her to relax, she won't give up. Hence her soul remains in Golden Freddy's trembling eyes as she fades into darkness and the series reaches its final notes.
I don't know about you, but between these last two videos, I think it's as complete as you could want. So there you have it. FNAF theorists, as deep as I can go. Trying to answer as many questions as possible, all about putting things in order that makes sense, also to tell as much evidence as possible, is it a perfect timeline? No. But I don't think it has an end. I think Mr. Hippo's

custom

voice lines point us in that direction. (Mr. Hippo from Custom Night) I guess if someone wants to talk, it's best not to announce that you're telling a story.
I guess telling a story comes with its own pressures and expectations. After all, if you're just talking to your friend, then there are no more expectations than if you were talking into the wind. Words alone are not expected to be transmitted, they are not expected to be maintained. But if you know that if you announce that you're telling a story, then it better all make sense, you know? (Matpat) And conversely, at some point, you simply analyze the story to the point of losing meaning. In the end, whether this entire timeline is right or wrong, decoding the FNAF story maze has been the most exciting and fun challenge I've ever covered on this channel.
Yeah! We've covered it. A lot. A little more than I would have liked honestly. But for good reason, few games place so much importance on their stories. And even fewer games tell their stories in such a mysterious and compelling way! I've been saying this for a while now. But FNAF is the perfect modern game. It's cheap, if not free, so anyone can play it. Mechanacis are simple, it's fun to watch other people play them. (Steph)...I like it. (Matpat) WOW! Oh my salmon! (Now again) and seeds in easter eggs that get other people talking online. 4 years later, and still, only a handful of Indie games and practical zero tripilate games have followed in their footsteps.
Despite the enormous success of FNAF, and that is perhaps the biggest, biggest and saddest mystery of all. If this is truly the end, thank you Scott for an incredible journey and for giving me a game that forever changed my life and this channel. BUT HEY! That's just a

theory

, a GAME

theory

!!!!! Thank you for watching each of these videos. Wow! Now that the FNAF mystery is solved, go out and solve my merch mystery.
