Mar 26, 2024
Hello YouTube, welcome back to another Ax video from the

history

teacher

, today we are doing something a little different and we are going to see a

trailer

for a video game. You've probably been able to tell from my experience and my live streams that I love it. Video games and the Assassin's Creed series is one of my favorite series, basically, of course, it makes sense. I think why the

history

teacher

might like that, especially someone who likes video games. You're combining history and you know historical fiction and I love the open

world

. type games and I've loved the Assassin's Creed series since it started and we've been waiting since the amazing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which I loved and did some streaming playthroughs before, but we've been waiting for the next one, our announcement is confirmed in the Next now the rumors had been that it looked like for months it was going to be a Viking setting and that sounds great and it looks like it's confirmed because what we're going to do is watch the

world

premiere

trailer

because the title of the game is Valhalla, which is a kind of a Viking paradise for their elite, so it looks like that's what it's going to be in anticipation of where I put on my Viking shirt and let's go ahead and watch this.

I'm glad they put that in because it would be something beautiful that you would have seen in the northern lands of the Nordic countries, let's turn on the subtitles, let's go to the spa, Barians, prepare for war, as always. Ubisoft makes excellent progress. I will say that Ubisoft always makes excellent progress. People will complain that maybe it doesn't look as good in a game, but. Of course it's not going to be like that and you have a thematic trailer, but it looks great. I wonder, I wondered and it has to happen. I mean, if you're doing Vikings, you're going to have to talk about naval warfare. iconic Viking ships and I bet they bring a Viking funeral at some point where you basically burn the person on their long ship and send them out to sea, but yeah, they've definitely done a lot of naval stuff and it seems like you know this they would definitely do. and since Black Flag they have been doing that and I like them, I like them, it's not the central component of Assassin's Creed that I like.

I know about you. I love Assassin's Creed Odyssey and thought they were fun. I like it. I like to do them when it's like a change of pace. You know, instead of just hand-to-hand combat, you go and get to do some naval stuff. down with the balance if it's just naval stuff, I mean that's one of the reasons I didn't like Black Flag as much, maybe it's the others, it was also the first time they did that so I don't really I was hoping it's beautiful, look at that environment, love, you understand winter, you know, in these Scandinavian regions, but then it's summer times, they're so beautiful because of all the green and their great growth, blindly forgive women all the lands of England Lands, they all made someone else feel like they wouldn't have done that right, just in the case of these newly slaughtered children.
assassin s creed valhalla world premiere trailer history teacher reacts
I'm glad that didn't happen there, we don't need another Anakin Skywalker, you know? not shown skal the lands of England lands they will never defend never love well, so they're talking about the Vikings invading England, right, and there's a big part of their history, you know, their influx there, but I wonder who the storyteller. This is what they were talking about because they are talking about the Vikings and that they are what these bloodthirsty people are talking about from the Viking perspective, it is time to talk to them in a language that they understand war, okay, like this it's OK.
This could be in England here or something, you might have a group that's being invaded, okay, so by potentially being invaded by Vikings, I'm demanding that you're going to be from the Viking perspective as a playable character, right, maybe not, maybe not, maybe it's like an English character or something, but you'd think that in the future this would be from the perspective of the Vikings, maybe they're just doing the trailer from the English perspective to set up the protagonist here, the coasts, arrows of fire, the English are ready. This could be something famous about the English.
They are going to die. They defended themselves against the Vikings in history. Here maybe I'll go through that, but again, what perspective will this game be from as a playable character? But they got the classic iron axes. The Vikings like to use and you have an English long swordsman, it seems like I wonder if they will have bigger battles, that was something I thought was cool about Odyssey is those national wars between Sparta and Athens. I thought they were something like that. It's cool how you had these big battles and then you were a small part of them, but individually it was kind of a quad and you played a lot of games that I had actually made before that were obviously of such high quality.
I wonder if they will. have that here who's going to win the battle chutzpah who was that who is this guy Ezio now it would have been long after that I'll link it here you can make a lot of setups for this though oh it's a sign that Odin reincarnated or brought back reincarnation but like Odin resurrected god of the Norse rant god of the Vikings one of the gods there are many gods the boss boss fight boss battle everything Britney Oh someone help him guess what's dishonorable you gotta let him let him start with his own he's ashamed no , oh, he's a killer, he's cheating, but not really, if he's a real killer, he has the hidden sword.
I was wondering what the connection would be now between Assassin's Creed, he has the hidden sword, oh yeah, guys like Assassin's Creed Valhalla. available hello priced at twenty 20 okay so they have to postpone that holiday and they usually do. I feel like I bought a lot of them on Black Friday after Thanksgiving, which is always a good day to do so. I usually get a good sale, but either way, anything else steals gold. The Steelbook Gold Edition includes one game and a season pass. There will be some DLC. Yes, you see it below. It has Xbox Series X.
Xbox One. Is this a timed exclusive at all you think? Sony or they just don't advertise as much, so it looks like from the bottom here it's going to be, you know, on the new consoles, it looks like it's probably going to be on both, so, so they need to do it, I mean just on the new consoles. The new new Xbox and the PS 5 have a release date, but I wonder if this will even be a launch title, because it looks like they're going to release it on both, which I guess is fine, even if this comes out I guess, before. for they said: I believe our bowls are not.
I don't remember if both systems are backwards compatible or I'm not too sure if the PS 5 is something else, so I have some more videos and stuff. Okay guys, it looks like this could be set with the invasion of England and I'm still assuming it will be from a Viking perspective as to who the playable character will be. I mean, why would they do that or why wouldn't they? That's cool, no that's cool, you have to have a setup for it, right? I can't like an enemy of who they're fighting, but in this one it seems like your people are the aggressors, right?
They're not defending against an enemy or something. that or just inside it's like inside a war which in a way I guess is like Odyssey, you're a Spartan but you don't necessarily like having to fight for the Spartans, but you're inside a bigger conflict there. so be cool, one of my thoughts on the Assassin's Creed games is why what I find the most fun about them. I liked the Assassin's Creed games that have cities that you can actually explore vertically, so what I mean by that is that yes, I like those. of a big city setting and a game like this probably won't have cities that big, you know, huge big cities, not because the Vikings didn't live in big cities and stuff like that and it's still very early in England, but obviously it's Va to be more open that way and less urban exploration, maybe more small towns and things like that, but I've found that with the Assassin's Creed games my favorites are the ones that actually have cities.
You can explore my favorites from the entire Assassin's Creed series. was the Ezio series, then the Assassin's Creed 2 series, so a big reason for that was to summarize that the stories were great and those were incredible, but I loved exploring places like Florence, a city or, you know, in Assassin's Creed 2 or Rome in Assassin's Creed. The Brotherhood or Constantinople in Assassin's Creed Revolution and then they made Assassin's Creed 3, which takes place in the American Revolution. I don't really like it that much and I think some of that had to do with it, it just wasn't fun to explore. it was like Boston wasn't very big and rightly so because it was a small colony colonial city, so quite, I mean, it's small compared to cities today and there were a lot of forests and things like that and it really wasn't, I don't know.
I didn't really love that one and then Black Flag was pretty much the same way I was. I was after a Sasson 3 that I really wanted as another city tracker, you know, and you didn't understand it because it was very sea based on the sea and I didn't really love that one either and then for me, they told me how I like them things, how I like things, were redeemed with the Assassin's Creed unit in the French Revolutions because Paris was really cool to explore there and now they've done a little bit of both, you know, I didn't love it, although I mean, it seems which I could have done with Syndicate, where you go around London.
I don't really like that one for whatever reason, I didn't like it that much. I don't think any of them are a bad game, but I just like building lists in a way here and then, I liked the origins, but Odyssey is probably my favorite. Since Assassin's Creed 2 it had it all because you explored these incredible ancient Greek cities, you could know how to crawl through Athens and all that and go to Sparta and all that and it mixed together, I think all the interesting elements and one thing that I guess what they're going to to do here is keep up with the progression system that Origins and Odyssey were doing, which I wasn't sure with a lot of the RPG elements now of a lot of leveling up and skill trees and all that kind of stuff and I thought it worked. .
I really thought they figured it out because of Assassin's Creed, obviously, and I'm wondering, I'm assuming they're going to continue with that, which I think is cool, so I mean, if they have some kind of I think if they're going to keep the formula that I feel like Assassin's Creed Odyssey and then they'll put in this new setting and I think that alone will make it. I think it's definitely going to be a good game, so I think it's going to be great. learning a little more about Viking culture Norse mythology, which is one I'm still fairly new to, is a big part of Viking mythology and I guess some of the deeper Viking history.
I know there are people who really like it. I have always considered myself a historian. I really like to cover myself and learn about many topics. Knowing a little about a lot instead of a lot about a little. You know me, so I think these are great educational opportunities. That's one of the interesting things that I like. The cool thing about Assassin's Creed is how it teaches some history, especially to young people, and it's great when you know we're talking, when I'm talking in class and when I'm teaching in class, and someone says, hey, I remember that from Assassin's Creed Odyssey or something So. that I show a picture of the Duomo, you know, and when I'm giving my Renaissance lesson and I say, oh yeah, I remember that you climb that and meet the scree, and all that and that's cool, I think it's fun and like that.
I need you to be able to teach history anyway, it's a great way and of course they do a lot of historical fiction, you know, I have a lot of true stories too, but anyway, and they take pride in knowing that you would come so early. they take pride in this, so with this I think yeah, it sounds like I know I have no reason to be discouraged by this again. I hope they keep it as an exploration element because, as exploration discovery of an open world game and that kind of thing, it's a big part of these games and I hope they can do that in this environment because I've seen it, you know, no.
I want, yeah, just Assassin's Creed 3 or something like that or Black Flag, I personally don't. I don't love them that much, I like the balance where they find a story of exploration combat and stuff like that, and that's what I'm waiting for, so it looks like we'll have this by the end of the year when the holidays come around. season, so it's a good time for the launch of the new consoles, so it should continueand well i hope they come out at the same time so you can get it when they release and with the console it could be a great first game to buy if you know you can afford the new consoles and stuff but that's pretty cool guys that sums up my initial thoughts here about what is happening, what do you think?
Do you think you could talk about what you know? I know I don't know anything about the backstory of the escape, but more specifically about what specific encounters, if you know with the English here, what they are and what they're about. You've probably been trying to look for leaks and all that, so you know, obviously, don't spoil things if they come to light, but I have a conversation about whether this is something you're looking forward to, it's like a day one pickup. you're a little skeptical or whatever and it's specific if you're already a fan of Assassin's Creed or if you're not, this is something that becomes a B. you're interested in Vikings, so you're interested in going back to maybe .
Getting back to the series, if you left, another great place to come talk about is on our Discord server. We have a very active gaming community and I'm sure people will talk about it there and you can do it. There is a link. to our Discord server below and yes, I hope to see you with that if you haven't subscribed to my channel or if you're new in any way, I would love to have you as a subscriber and be part of our community.
