It really never gets old, let's put on my new moisturizing pajamas and head to the party room on this plane and one that we missed during our last flight located in the back of the plane behind the business class cabin you will find the bar, choose from a selection of wines or perhaps a cocktail while you relax on one of the comfortable sofas, as at the Qatar bar you can stay here for the entire flight thanks to the integrated seat belts.
Next we will return to my suite, since it is made up of a bed. Now that it's daylight, normally I wouldn't sleep for long, but after all that food and a couple of drinks, here we are, I wake up and find that we're not too far from South Africa, so after a quick change of clothes I I put it again. and of course, putting the Tims back on, we are on our final approach. I am delighted to welcome you to the sixth continent of our journey, Africa. It's certainly been a great journey so far and there's only one left to go.
I have a special guest. Joining me on the next section of this trip, my father, of course, who has just arrived from London. I'm taking him on a safari, something I know he's always wanted to do. This will involve a trip of about 200 million north, not far from the Botswana border, let's settle briefly in our two-bedroom Lodge here in the Mabaso Black Rana Reserve. Now of course no visit to South Africa would be complete without a safari and the hope of seeing the Big Five, so without further ado and of course. We welcome dad back to the channel, let's go to Safari, you're ready, I'm ready, let's go dad and now we fly to Cape Town for the next leg of our journey.
Well, there we have six of the seven continents visited, of course. I have one left and perhaps without a doubt the most difficult to reach Antarctica. Sadly Dad will not be joining me on the next sector, instead he will opt to enjoy The Cape Town Vineyards with some family friends, don't worry I will be back to join them. right after reaching the seventh continent, this is where things get a little different. I'm sure it doesn't surprise you, but there are no scheduled flights to Antarctica, but there is a solution: a company called White Desert offers passenger and scientific trips to the frozen continent and this is exactly what we are doing now to cross the shelf towards our plane, a golf stream G550.
I've never flown anything like this before, but I guess there's a novelty to it all, this is certainly very different from anything else. On the first class flights we have been on so far the emergency exits can be opened by moving the handle in the direction of the arrow, study the exit instructions when you board and we hurtle down the runway and into the night sky. over Cape Town, so what exactly is the plan? We will fly for 5 hours southward more than 2,700 miles until we reach Antarctica wolf's fang. Let's take a proper look at our plane and then we'll have room for just 16 passengers at almost 600 mph.
I'm sitting in the main section of the plane, which has a dining table, a sofa, and two comfortable armchairs. At the back there is a closed room with two sofas that convert into one or two single beds. It's time to boot up the Tims Antarctica Edition and enjoy. a glass of champagne. To be honest, I'm still in disbelief. This is happening. It's time for dinner and the offering is impressive considering that there is only a small kitchen on board for the main course. I opt for the steak topped with wild mushrooms and dolono potatoes. for dessert, the Greek lemon cake.
I think it's time to get some rest, this also gives us the opportunity to check out the bathroom located at the back of the cabin, it is compact but finished with a high level of time to brush my teeth and go out to bed, We still have a few hours before we land on the frozen continent, although it seems like sunrise outside the sun never really sets this time of year in Antarctica and it's currently 1:00 AM. m. For context, we're almost there, so let's go. Turn the Tims back on as we make our final approach to Antarctica.
