I mean, he would secretly download software onto your computer and then upload data to the developer's servers. Turns out

this

was nothing more than a glorified piece of spyware and that's why the FTC shut it down. in 2004, after that the world was safe from purplish malware icons, until 2023, we were all cursed with a new desktop assistant, Kenito Pets, okay, so, Kenita Pet is not actually a desktop assistant, It's a

game

, so you know

game

theory

, but it's copying that old school desktop assistant from the 2000s, when you start K pit for the first time, you're taken to your own desktop or at least one. version of your desktop if it was from the early 2000s, there are all the classic email sweepers, even Pinball 3D. a 3D pinball, although oh my god

this

brings back memories, yeah oh man it immediately hit me with nostalgia, oh I missed those sounds, why don't we have this on our computer anymore, but when you open the internet, things start to change? oh, the transmission has been corrupted oh no, pet Kito oh, do you want a friend? you're inundated with ads, your computer crashes and when it reloads you're already on your way to downloading your new axotal assistant kenito pet when it hatches, yes this thing hatches from an egg Kenito acts like most classic desktop assistants, it makes you some basic questions, helps you with your homework, and gives you some fun games to play.

It even closes strange emails full of gibberish that would distract you from having fun. How helpful you spent some time decorating. a room washing some floors, painting a wall and dragging a dead body across the screen, that's weird and I cleaned that floor too. Kito just pulls us off the mat and continues to ask us more and more personal questions, but the game starts to crash. and Kito will suddenly select two Steam friends and ask which one he'd rather kill right now. I'm starting to miss Bonie Buddy, oh look it's me, oh I have to choose between Lee and Tom's movie, Theory versus Game Theory, oh movie.

Theory Game: Who Am I Killing Matt? What are you doing? Le and I go back a long time, don't even think about it. Sorry, Matt, stop, oh my, that's amazing, that's such a good effect. Sorry Tom, oh man that's brutal. I'm fine. I'm alive, good thing Buckshot roulette told me I could survive fatal gunshots, it was just a defibrillator, but that's not right, we'll have words when this episode is over, but if you think it couldn't get any worse. Having unceremoniously killed one of your friends, Kito decides to DX you. It looks like you made a mistake when filling out your address.

Don't worry and I won't direct it to you. What are you brother? What are you doing? Oh, this. It's not good and then you're welcomed into a whole new world that Kito has created for you using all the questions you've answered. Are you kidding me? That's not right, it was a joke, get out of here. Ban garden, ban is on Kito pet, I'm done, this is over, the series is over, we're done, kenito pet and then kenito will ask you one last question: will you stay in this paradise with him forever if you say yes? Kinita will walk away dreaming of wonderful things.
It will be if you say no kit will get mad and he'll tell you it wasn't really a choice anyway, either way he ends up singing a very poor teque song with lyrics like "beyond the screen, you can't leave it inside my code". It always seems like you're now trapped inside this computer with Kito. Fortunately, the story is not over because just before the game ends you have the opportunity to

click

on each object in the house that Kenito has created. It's usually just some fun text about your choice, but outside there's a font that reveals a secret message in the game's title window.
It's too late for you, but you can start again. The font is the key between the strange emails and the body bag we dragged earlier. I have a sneaking suspicion that there is an ARG hidden in this thing and lo and behold, I was right, but to find out what's going on and stop Kenito, we need to follow that advice and restart the game, so hide your personal data, friends, because we're diving into the code of this adorable one. ARG Monster I think we should probably start with the corpse we dragged across the ground earlier, like what that surface was, it's really confusing, but now that I have my ARG hat on, I notice that there are a lot of flickers, moments where you you lose it while cleaning.
Sam the SE, an enemy's house, there is a chance that the screen will cut away and reveal a mysterious black figure standing in a pool of blood with blood red text on the walls. This text is incredibly hard to make out even in 4k, it's just a blurry mess. The best I could figure out was if I was him, who Kino's pet is, before I had a chance to really think about it, although we get another failed image of Sam himself telling us it's all your fault, what's my fault ?, what did I do? Oh yes, luckily, although the body bag doesn't appear to be ours, during the next minigame with Jade the jellyfish, we are tasked with building specific items on her conveyor belt, why does she have industrial equipment in her private house, don't I understand, but it doesn't really matter because she starts crashing too and then we see this screen.
I'm back here again, aren't I? I really didn't mean any of this, it's all my fault, so there's a conversation going on inside our computer. among these entities someone or something is responsible for what is presumably a murder but how and more importantly why well the answers are in that email I mentioned before remember the one that was full of gibberish that Kito closed so we wouldn't be distracted from the matter is "it's not too late," which matches exactly what we saw in the fountain at the end of our first game. He is the same person trying to guide us, so we need to find out what this email says if we have any chance of making it. figuring this out and if you think closing an app is going to stop me, you've clearly never met a theorist.
I was able to use a magical tool known as oh s to record this moment and see what the email had in store for me now. I initially tried to resolve the main body of text of this email but all my usual cers were empty so I took a look at the bottom of the email where I found a QR code oh boy here we go answers here I go. and it's just a picture of a keyboard with the title quiry cool, this has to be a clue to help us encrypt email but how I started searching online for Cipher focusing specifically on keyboards and that's when I found this one encryption Switch keyboard much like Cipher switch where your alphabet simply moves up or down with the number of letters you want, a Cipher keyboard does the same thing by switching the letters on your keyboard from left to right up or down.
I tried several changes and sure enough, the code has been written with each key one letter to the left, so by changing all the letters one key to the right, it actually reads into the realm of Shadows trapped in time without end a soul wrapped in a gloomy timbre of spirit the Seeker bound to ethereal pain a dance with creation still nowhere go to the realm of limbo an endless cycle doomed the brain will never mend trapped in the web of the machine forever It looks like a digital specter lost in the midst of the currents you take everyone but in reality this feels like more gibberish so let's break down some of what it is.
As they say here, a specter is a disembodied but visible spirit, basically a ghost, so what a digital specter is a digital ghost, a spirit inside the computer program, someone who is dead now lives inside this machine, is what they meant by: Am I even he the ghost? Upon returning Awareness of him living inside this computer, it also seems clear that this is the same person who has been saying that everything is his fault, the gloomy sound of a spirit and condemned that the brain will never be fixed. They all feel like the words of someone who did it. kind of lame and probably has something to do with the body bag we found earlier, but then there's this line, a dance with creation.
I wasn't entirely sure what that meant until I restarted the game after all those crashes. By doing so, we receive an email. With an article about Kenito's creation during my first playthrough, I thought it was just a flavor text, but now that I have that clue about the creation, I wanted to take a closer look. It turns out that Kopet wasn't always a computer program first. was a toy, then it was a Tamagotchi clone called companion Kito, and then it became your home computer assistant, all thanks to One Man, Sunny Chamberlain, a guy who was obsessed with bringing his fictional characters to life because That's never gone wrong with anyone, but here's the Unlike most indie horror games that use the souls of others to make it happen, Sunny seems interested in this new technology called the reaction and response algorithm, the art R A the r allows Kenito to have the illusion of genuine intelligence, as he reacts to inputs in unique ways. something like GPT chat, but in the 90s, which explains a lot about how Kito has been acting, so now we have souls trapped inside a computer and an evil AI, what a combination, at this point the clues run out, so we have To start looking elsewhere, when you started your second game, you may have noticed something new in your desktop program called Lens. exe which, when kept in the right place at the right time, can reveal hidden files on the desktop.
With each one collected you receive a new email giving us more information on what's going on and how to beat Kenito Pet once and for all and some of the files have links within them so let's go looking. I said some of them have links and that's because most of these files are pretty empty, but one of them gives us the ket.com slail link and on this page we see a discussion. between a journalist and his superior about how they need to publish an article about the Kito mascot before publication. This is because the subject of the article tragically passed away according to the text we see at the bottom of the email that says he seems so passionate about It's pretty safe to assume we're talking about Sunny, the creator of Kito, as we read in the article. former.
Sunny seemed very excited about the rra system and Kenito in general, so it would make sense that this article about Kito's pet would be about him. However, that's not all this page offers at the bottom, if you highlight the entire page you will find a series of dots and dashes and we all know what that means: it's time for Mor code, in this case mor code It translates as if I'm dead then. Who I am? This email focuses on Sunny, Kito's creator, being dead, so the entity that has been guiding us to use first person in response tells us that this entity is Sunny or at least Sunny's soul within the program.
That's how it is. He's been able to send us emails describing exactly how to beat Kenito because he created it in the first place and that's why Kenito was so keen to close that first email when we received it. He knows the threat that Sunny, his creator, has to his own survival. He also explains what we saw in that first mistake. Am I even him? That black figure is the manifestation of the digital spectrum that is trying to pass through the games that Kenito is subjecting us to. He is struggling to accept thereading about his death, but also. not being dead at the same time, he wonders if there is one like it, but upon finding all those hidden files, we actually get this email that uses another switch cipher and tells us in non-explicit terms what consciousness is.
I found a file. Kito servers with my name Sunny C, but that is not the end, this email continues, it has been studying me, learning, growing, but there is more to this. I really believe that I no longer exist, there are data that are incomprehensible to anyone. person who makes up every thought or feeling I ever had and will ever have, even the words I write now, how will I know if it's just a certain calculation? This is all very confusing and I don't fully understand it when I made Kito everything. I gave it a single string of characters.
That's all. I just wanted it to collect data and become smarter. Am I part of the system? It is my Consciousness. A mere calculation to study and learn from this. It's too much. I'm afraid when we delete. the server, you will delete me. I know I'm not real in

theory

, but I feel real. What have I done? I'm so sorry Kito petcom who am I oh boy there's a lot to unpack here but let's start with that obvious website link. The website appears to be a bunch of black and white stripes, but us theorists know better than to highlight the entire page.
Reveal the text. Who I am? What am I repeating? Go over it again except for one line that gives us a base 64 code that says all you want to do is learn, it's never just a game, it will learn your reaction time, it will learn your accuracy, it will learn your patterns, your friends, how they act, you will learn that way. He could imitate your every move, mimic your every word. The rra system that Kenito uses is so good that he could literally learn to be you and that is the piece we are missing. This is what happened to Sunny, the sunny one we've been talking to. helping us he's not the real sunny he's just the version of sunny kenito made after learning everything about him this sunny is so faithful to the original that he believes himself to be the original it's only when he sees things like that email about sunny's death that things start to fit into his place by asking him questions like if he is dead then who am I, even he is having an existential crisis, he is realizing that every decision he makes, every key he types, it is not actually him, but the code on which it has been built, unfortunately.
For Kenito Pet, by creating a perfect simulation of Sunny, he also created someone with the same hatred and disdain, not only for themselves but also for Kenito, meaning that he will act like the real Sunny would and destroy his own creation, even if it means sacrificing yourself. Using Sunny's simpler emails, we learn that there is a secret location where we can decrypt the files to get to it. We have to remember what Sunny told us. The source is the key. Click on the fountain in the middle of the map several times. He will take you to this strange dark area.
If you take all your encrypted files and throw them in the water, suddenly you will have five decrypted files, the most interesting one being the credentials file that says Sunny C, the file that Sunny found. himself earlier in this investigation, these are Sunny's permissions and with them we can do the only thing we wanted to do since we had Kenito Pet stuck on our computer, delete it. The last email he receives when collecting the files tells him to use the command. delete everything when Kito pet opens command prompt, only then the game will ask you for your credentials, you can put your decrypted files and start deleting everything. kenita pet slowly disappears and finally we see the ending, we end up with kenet once and for everything we won or did because during that ending, if you stop and look at the scroll files, you can see hundreds of usernames, hundreds of people recreated as AI versions of themselves who now live inside Kito's program, just like Sunny, the real versions end up in body bags their deaths were Sunny's fault now there is one more hidden link in those encrypted files I mentioned before and it tells us leads to a new website with Sunny's AI struggling with who she really is.
He gets smarter day by day. I guess just always. I did what I asked to find out what I am and then at the top of the page there is also the repeated Mantra of "It's all my fault" but even though that only repeats things we already know, below the text is a link to a YouTube

video

of a piano playing over an image of a door, the musical notes don't really tell us anything, but if you convert the notes into a midi file and then convert it to a text file, you'll find the message Sorry , I'm sorry. in the description there is also a string of characters that are the back half of a YouTube URL, go to that

video

and we find two new codes, the first is in the description of the video which is full of different clock emojis reading the hours of each clock as a number and then adding the numbers between the semicolons you get this code based on what we found above.
I think the font is probably supposed to be the key, but I'm guessing there was a clock emoji that got lost in the second code. It is the one we see on the screen, which is much more difficult to decipher, fortunately it has also been written in the subtitles. Clearly we need a Cypher for this, but what type I tried all the ones we've been using, like keyboard rollover encryption or dock. 64 nothing I tried some of the usual ones, they didn't work, so what I was left with was a potential for a metal cipher, but for that we would need a key, wait a minute, a key.
Source Source is the key and so Bam, we have a new code to understand the past, one must look at their memories, turn back the clock and then there is this other string of code that, if you translate it using the Shift Cipher keyboard, tells you to change computer dates clearly. I had to change the date on the computer, but what are the dates? I'll be honest, this part isn't very scientific from what I could find online, people just brusquely forced answers, but I couldn't figure out how to do it either, so here are the dates because it's important for us to know if you change the date to 1993 on your home screen you will see a soft toy of canito if you change it to a date between 1994 and 1997 you will get the first Kito companion and if you change it until 1998 you will find a broken Kito companion and if you look at the window title of that image it says that it is Time for something bigger and better.
This is a timeline of the Kito products, implying that 1998 was the end of the Kito companion and the creation of the Kito pet software. We also know that 1999 was the year Sunny died thanks to those earlier emails, which which means there was a time when the software was available in the world while sunny was still alive during that time he saw people die thanks to what he created being replaced by AI versions of themselves within kito's programming, that blame weighed heavily on his conscience and therefore, a year after the creation of Kinito Pet, he ended his own life, as shown by the image of Sam hanging that we sometimes have when opening the game, but Remember all these versions of AI of people who believe they are genuine articles, just like Sunny did until he realized, and even then he still believed himself to be very real, which raises an interesting point about beating the game and stopping Kenito from copying more people.
Are we killing them too? Is it a mercy to save them from this low poly hell of the 90s or are we ending lives that weren't so bad? Maybe some of those Consciousnesses have enjoyed it if they feel real and exist. Does eliminating them equal? murder and this is not a fictional plot. Artificial intelligence technology is growing at an alarming rate, so these types of discussions are starting to arise more and more. I don't think we have the answers here. This is just some dumb YouTube. show at the end of the day, but I think Cano pet is smart to raise awareness about the discussion in the classic way of making it scary but also making you think more deeply about it, it means people pay attention and maybe when it's time.
It's coming to make these discussions happen for real, we'll be ready for that or Skynet will happen and we'll see Kenito Pet out front leading the charge, but hey, that's just a theory, a game theory, thanks for watching and if you want. To see the hilarity of someone solving all of these puzzles in real time, I might suggest

ing on the video on the left where Matt and Ash do exactly that. I still haven't forgiven him for killing me. If you see any other confusing independent terror laws, why? Don't try last week's episode where I broke the poppy playtime law, episode 3.
That video ended on the right, as always, don't forget to subscribe and I'll see you all next week, okay?
