located in the northern part of Swana. Its lush wetlands are home to an abundant variety of

wildlife

unlike any other place on Earth. The famous Chobby River runs through the park and attracts tons of animals. and birds, especially during the dry season. I traveled here from neighboring Zimbabwe hoping to get another great wildlife experience on my trip through southern Africa, which it certainly turned out to be. I left Victoria Falls and headed towards Batswana where I would cross the border and continue. To Chobby National Park we were told the journey from Victoria Falls would only be an hour, so I sat back and enjoyed the journey seen in The Distance by the bridge.

This is the border of Kousen Gula and it is the only place in the world. where four countries meet, the border is shared by Namibia Batswana Zimbabwe in Zambia maybe less than a month yes, less than a month Crossing from Zimbabwe to Batswana couldn't have been easier, it's a simple entry and exit stamp from the border, it is about something else. About an hour before reaching the park, once we entered the park the road turned to sand and we officially entered Safari territory. It wasn't long before we had our first sighting of an impressive male kudu feeding just a few meters from our vehicle.

These are truly Stunning animal with the male of the species having a beautifully ornate set of horns. Continuing with my driver I saw a lone bull elephant sleeping in the shade while standing, although elephants can sleep both lying down and standing up, they often choose to sleep standing up as they are. There were dozens of elephants, from large to small, all bathing in the river and cooling off from the intense sun to protect their skin.

Elephants often cover themselves with a layer of mud that we encounter. A group of them had just come from swimming in the river when one of them gave us some kind of mock charge. I'm not going to lie. My stomach hit the ground. The force of that growl just couldn't be picked up by the microphone. Well, after that After a lunch break we embarked on a river safari, this was quite exciting as it allowed us to see the park from a completely different angle, we were even lucky enough to see a hippopotamus coming out of the water, which they normally do closer to dusk , when the weather is much cooler, you rarely see a hippo walking in the middle of The day before we returned we saw a large herd of elephants cross the river right in front of our boat.
Crossing them seemed easy enough, but climbing the river bank was definitely a challenge as by the end of the afternoon we sadly had to call it a day. Our day in Chobby National Park. I will definitely make a return trip to this park and explore other areas in Batswana as it is without a doubt one of the best places in the world to experience nature at its finest.
