Update | Carpool

Hello and welcome to a little Carpool

update

now, as viewers have known for a long time, Carpool started a couple of years ago as an experiment. Now I started releasing

carpool

only on iTunes and then once I got a director account on YouTube I started releasing them there as well and in that time on both platforms for over 100 episodes the total download figure is now over 42 million As some of you may know, Carpool was one of the first shows that started on the Internet and then ended up on the Internet. Telly, except it didn't actually end on Telly because it didn't end then, but last year I recorded 20 specials for um Dave in the UK and they aired over Christmas and they were a huge hit and got a Special Mention at the Broadcast Digital Awards and it was all a lot of fun but I always felt like Carpool was really born to be online so that's what I decided to do with it so from now on Carpool will be an Online Only Series and I think it's important to note that for about 85 of the 110 or so shows I've recorded.

I have done everything on my own. I have reserved the guest. I have driven to pick them up. I recorded the show and then I edited it and then I uploaded it and then I promoted it on my own and that's a pretty hard job that I found out after all these years, so I know I can't continue alone, I know I have to work with other people and I have decided to work with a company that really helped me set everything up from the beginning. a company called Channel flip uh Channel flip only makes online videos so they really know what they're doing and they're helping me tremendously to do it a little bit more professionally because that's the real downside for me, it's always been delivering the the content that it presents. the show every week and week after week after week, you know, it's been a true labor of love, uh, and I've been helped tremendously by Toyota cars, who sponsored me and gave me the car that is.

This is not my car, this is the shared car. They have been incredibly supportive both here and in the United States and that has really helped me keep going. I just need technical help. I mean, obviously, no one can help me drive or talk to him. people, that's fine, that's what I really enjoy doing, but some background technical help would be very, very helpful, so what's happening now is that I'm having a little break, not that long, but yeah a brief interlude in the weekly

s. I already have a lot of people booked who have agreed to do the show and I have dates in my diary that when I'm recording them both in this country and in the United States, some of those people you will meet.

I've definitely heard of some old ride-sharing hits coming up and some people you may not have heard of, but I think once you see them you'll be very, very interested and it'll be very exciting to watch, so for the next. In a few weeks there won't be a new carple every week and I feel really bad about that because if there's one thing I've learned about podcasting it's that you just need to keep doing it every week because every week a few more people watch it, but logistically there's no nothing I can do about it. I have to film a lot of shows before I start making Red Dwarf in November because I want the show to continue during the time I'm filming, so.

I have a very busy fall schedule ahead of me, but it's really exciting because they'll look better, they'll download better, they'll be distributed more widely, hopefully more people will see them. Please tell your friends to watch them.
