FreeValve Isn't a Big Deal. Here's why

, but the overall length remains the same because the crankshaft pulley is still retained which then powers the various compressors such as the AC and the FreeValve compressor. You could even use it, I don't know, for a water pump pulley or something. So the overall length stays the same, you just remove the top bit, the top half of the length. And even the height I don't see how it can be drastically reduced, because the solenoid is a relatively large piece of metal and even the rail that goes on top also takes up space. But let's say you know that the height is lowered by a significant amount, this could be, for example, a big problem for Boxer engines, but you know that it's not like we haven't installed Boxer engines in many different cars. And this is the other key point as to why FreeValve is not a game changer. And FreeValve will not make anything new and important possible that was impossible before. Even if FreeValve magically became popular, no innovative new technology would be possible solely because of FreeValve. And even engine size and weight is an area of greatly diminishing returns. We don't really have any problem with engine size and weight anymore because today we have three 1 liter cylinders with a turbocharger powering everything from a hatchback to an MPV. Turbo charging has made it very possible to downsize the engine, so engines are not even big anymore and we don't even have space limitations because vehicle safety regulations have made cars quite bubbly, so that you can put pretty tall engines in almost anything on the road today.
And motors are also quite light these days due to clever alloys and lots of plastics, so even that is still very diminishing returns. So let's summarize it. Is FreeValve awesome? Of course! It's worth it? Well, that's a completely different question. It may be something unique to ridiculously priced boutique hypercars, but the likelihood of FreeValve venturing beyond this small market segment in the foreseeable future is very, very low. T

you have it, a depressing video. I actually don't think this is a depressing video. I think it's a positive video because it shows us how far we've come and how amazing the things we already have and take for granted are.If you have any copyright issue, please Contact
