How Speedrunners Completely Broke Luigi's Mansion

Mar 10, 2024
In the summer of 2022, speedrunning history became the world record. Luigi's Mansion, any percentage of Speed Run finally

broke

the last minute barrier of the category with a final time of 7 minutes and 59 seconds, less than eight minutes, sure Luigi's Mansion is a short game, but that's a lot more shorter than you remember, but over the last 10 years,

speedrunners

have

completely

destroyed Luigi's Mansion to the point that it can be surpassed so quickly, even just a couple of years ago, this milestone seemed impossible and unattainable , but we are here to fully understand how we got there. Here we must travel back in time to see what Luigi's Mansion speed racing was like almost a decade ago, the year 2013.
how speedrunners completely broke luigi s mansion
The era of gaining speed is gaining popularity. The dawn of the Twitch era of speedrunning brought an unprecedented number of new runners. on the scene and Luigi's Mansion was gaining a good portion of its popularity compared to other popular speed games at the time, however, Luigi's Mansion speedruns were not known for gameplay glitches or sequence pauses, but rather for catching ghosts, cleaning rooms, solving puzzles, and being trolled by RNG boos. as quickly as possible, some interesting things to note are that the runs were done on NTSC versions of the game on the Hidden Mansion difficulty, which is unlocked after completing the game for the first time.

More Interesting Facts About,

how speedrunners completely broke luigi s mansion...

The initial benefit is that you can skip the opening section of the game entirely. game before meeting Professor Egad and training with the ghost-trapping vacuum cleaner, the Poltergust 3000, the main benefit of Hidden Mansion, however, is that the Poltergust is much more powerful and drains enemy ghost h P twice as fast, allowing them to be caught much quicker, so in the end Playing on the hardest difficulty is worth going back to the race, it follows the same intended path as you would expect from a normal game, just much faster and a little more optimum. Any percentage of runs during this time period were just over an hour. long and didn't really have much in terms of useful glitches or anything, this would change forever in March 2013 when a notable glitch Hunter destroyed the game seemingly overnight his name was Clyde Storm, now there's a good chance of that you have heard of her. this user from somewhere like I don't know, the original Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing, yes this guy was responsible for the start of that Meme, but more importantly, Clyde was an accomplished glitch hunter in several games, especially games from Zelda as Wind Waker.

It seems that after 2013, although his YouTube channel seems to be abandoned, but he came out with a bang on March 18, 2013. Clyde Storm would post some YouTube and archive forum videos of speed demos taking the speedrunning world by storm. in these videos. shows a glitch discovered by the final player in 2011, known as floor 1.5 after capturing the area in which the boss Chauncey, you can grab behind this chest by holding the control stick upright as soon as Luigi returns from the Boss Arena when Luigi got between the back of In the chest on the north wall, you can push Luigi out of bounds by pressing a to hit the wall and then holding forward for a little bit or using the vacuum cleaner with r and then tapping forward on the lever control when Luigi is putting on the vacuum cleaner. far after releasing R in this state, Luigi is trapped between floors one and two, hence the name floor 1.5.
how speedrunners completely broke luigi s mansion
Even though this bug was documented for almost two years, there really wasn't much that could be done on floor 1.5 until Clyde discovered the bias when checking. Luigi in sidestep mode in dark rooms and hallways, the control stick will move Luigi without changing the angle he is looking at, while the c-stick is used to change his direction and orientation angle, much like when using the Poltergust, an interesting quirk of sidestep mode. especially on floor 1.5 is that if you are changing angles with a c-stick when hit and take damage, such as with bats, Luigi's stance angle could become skewed, this bias can be preserved when walking in side step mode and this has some interesting consequences. when biased, Luigi's Collision is modified allowing him to pass through otherwise impenetrable walls and even fall into certain rooms.
Clyde played around with the 1.5 floor skus for a while, but many of the discoveries were a bit disappointing and led to dead ends or even soft locks, however, with the Skew's ability to clip almost anywhere Clydestorm discovered that it was possible to break through the wall hallway to walk onto the dark hallways of area 2, descend into this corner in the basement, and walk along a paper-thin path to the secret altar where the final battle will take place. against King Boo starts saying that the jump was huge is an understatement, this method of getting to King Boo early skips not only all areas two, three and four, but also the need to collect all five of Mario's elements, all three elements and every Boo in the game.
The time savings were huge, however, and Clyde discovered it and demonstrated it using task-like emulator tools or tool-assisted speedrun. He expressed his dismay at the tilt, in particular he noted how difficult it was to get the correct tilt for the required clips and find a good position to go down to the basement not to mention how difficult it was to walk to the secret altar out of bounds the fact that That this part of the jump works is nothing short of a miracle. The path Luigi takes to walk to the altar is absurdly narrow. It's made especially difficult with the walls obscuring your view of Luigi and you can't really tell what's going on.
He walks too far. left and trigger a conversation with King Boo, who throws Luigi back into the lobby when he's under 40 Boos walk too far to the right and you'll be blocked unfortunately. Unfortunately, the early King Boo didn't seem viable for humans yet, but luckily that wouldn't be the case for much longer, a few days later another Hunter glitch would enter the mix. He only set a new world record of 16 minutes and 55 seconds, but created a consistent setup that made King Boo humanly viable for sprinting. This user's name was Sock Folder. Sock Folder is a glitch. builds in Ocarina of Time, you may also know him as the person who created consistent builds for catalysts in Mario 64 and 2014 and the flagpole glitch in Super Mario Bros in 2016.
He has also made important discoveries in other games and Luigi's Mansion is no exception to the On March 21, 2013, the sock folder had discovered a reliable method for the first King Boo that would serve as the basis for the route of any percentage that still persists to this day after clearing Area 1 and defeat Chauncey while the intended sock folder performs the out of bounds clip. behind the chest and change the side step mode, then walk to the right and open the lobby door on floor 1.5. Opening doors is much more awkward and slower than normal, as it will take Luigi 11 seconds to open and walk through the door.
Next to the door, perform the next move by having the bat hit the toe area of Luigi's right foot. Luigi to get the right angle. He then walks around this corner and turns clockwise to pass the sock folder on the wall and then walks on the floor in a hallway changing his orientation angle throughout the interior. To keep his flashlight shining in the hallway preventing ghosts from appearing that could scare Luigi and cause him to fall to floor one at the back end of the hallway. The sock folder resets its tilt back to standard mode and then changes again. to avoid it, he then takes out the vacuum cleaner to attract the bats to the right near the corner.
This tilt is a little more accurate on the first one, but luckily the socks folder created a reliable setup using the Y button to open the map and save it. you could pause the buffer Luigi running towards the bats and C move to the right for a brief moment to get the correct tilt by briefly switching to standard mode. He makes Luigi tilt his flashlight up so he can reach the corner before dodging again and backing away. in the corner where you will fall into the basement, then look down, switch to standard mode and hold the control stick upright while still paused while holding this direction, the sock folder then press a to resume pausing and then press x one frame later to get the game out.
The boy's horror camera just as Luigi is about to turn his camera prevents him from turning to the other side

completely

, but enough to successfully fall into the basement, now the hard part sock folder moves Luigi out of the limits until this pillar aligns with the left side. from the screen, then use the Game Boy horror camera to guide yourself across the thin line towards King Boo making quick forward movements before removing the camera again each time to readjust until you're done, from there defeat King Boo and the race ends. The next few days, Sockfolder lowered his record to 1,152, then 1,054, then 955.9, bringing the world record to under 10 minutes.
Stock Folder had never played Luigi's Mansion before Clyde's discoveries and, as a result, his gameplay wasn't the most refined, but thanks to his ability to create consistent glitch builds, he laid the foundation for out of bounds in the years to come. It's worth noting that the stock folder runs were done on an emulator and the first runs to be completed on the console were done by an Australian speedrunner, Luke. HHH on March 24th would achieve a 12-26 on Console as a reference time he would lower his personal best over the following month and eventually beat the sock folder by half a second in April with this record Luke began saving time in the basement by walking to blind Going to the secret altar after aligning yourself with the pillar is a bit riskier, to be sure, but with this and more refined gameplay, Luke lowered the record to 927 on June 13, a pretty solid run for the moment dating back to the March 21 for a second Clyde.
Storm would post a final video showing another theoretical Stratocaster that he believed to be Tas, just two cycles of King Boo into an optimal speed run. The racers would defeat King Boo in three cycles. Each cycle consists of blowing Bowser's head off with a bomb using the vacuum cleaner and then draining as much of King Boo's HP as possible before retreating back into his Bowser suit. King Boo has by far the most HP of any ghost in the game, 500. By performing three speed cycles, owners would stop sucking King Boo before he drops below 200 hp on the second cycle. because if King Boo returns Bowser below that threshold, Bowser's head would snap back, causing him to run before correcting his head, wasting precious time in this tool-assisted demo, clydestorm showed that if you had enough good luck, King Who could fly in a timely pattern to make this possible, as long as you can predict exactly where it's going to fly and can catch it before it returns to Bowser?
This was certainly asking too much for a human and seemed unfeasible for racing, in fact it took Luke until August 2 to become the first human to perform both cycles in practice, a testament to his incredible difficulty. What was humanly possible was a way to end the fight with King Boo even earlier, on May 22, 2013. Speedrunner ajfk King accidentally touched King. Boo's Crown as he sucked it, ending the fight instantly. Luke and another mauve Runner monster formerly known as fire crotch 219 figured out how this bug worked and discovered that it was exclusive to the Japanese version of the game.
Unfortunately, this strategy would not be allowed in speedruns as it buffers the ending scene preventing the game's credits sequence from playing correctly from the beginning, and by doing so the game never ends properly. This two-cycle dilemma wouldn't last much longer, however, as on August 23, Cooper would discover a technique that changed the game forever: our pumping. By holding L to drain from the void while sucking with r, he can release R for a brief moment before pressing again when he grabs alcohol for every 10 HP drained. This had a massive effect on the main categories, in particular 80 percent no limits and 100 with more consistent boo catches, this also made the two-cycle King Boo much more viable for racing, so our pumping began. to be used for both cycles, quickly becoming the standard for high-level play.
Curiously, Cupre and Luigi's Mansion Community did not occuraccount for the fact that this bug was discovered a year earlier by zanywitch 7 and had been hidden from view the entire time up to any percentage. This category was split between out-of-bounds and non-out-of-bounds variants in March 2013 and to this day there are no out-of-bounds variants. Limits remains the much more popular category, as these people did not compete for this record very often, but often with the advent of new strategies the record would eventually fall. We can see that Luke's record was

broke

n by v-man 3000 on September 18, 2013 with a 919 from 2013 to 2015 v-man was undoubtedly the best speed racer in Luigi's Mansion and also dominated any percentage without limits and at 100 percent, unfortunately the world record for any percentage from the second half of 2013 to 2016 was not very well documented, as v-man deleted all his runs and videos several years ago.
The only proof I have of his percentage records during this period is courtesy of glitch PhD, who found and provided a screenshot of the old Google Sheets leaderboard from before speedrun.com. as well as two records from 2014, a 904, as well as a race that broke the nine-minute barrier 849 in these surviving races, we can see v-man use our pump to perform the King Boo 2 cycle and in his 849 he had a much cleaner movement. and the second bias is no longer paused, it is unknown if he obtained times lower than that, but on May 7, 2016 Linka 7 achieves a new world record of 844.
Yes, Linkus here we can see that the overall cleaner execution and the ghost catching optimizations with catching the balls in the chant fight, a faster basement clip and using the vacuum cleaner to move a little slower for a more consistent alignment with the pillar before the secret altar, 2016 would be completed with HD lacks to achieve an 834 on December 14 by making clever use of the Game Boy's Horror Camera to prevent Luigi from getting scared when the first ghost appeared in the anteroom and locker room so we can catch them a little faster. Previously, at the start of 4.15, you would still have to painfully wait for Luigi to slowly open up.
Fortunately, this was no longer the case when runners began implementing gate jumping into their gate jumping races. HD took out an anterior tilt of these bats and then turned counterclockwise before hitting the wall in the right place at the right time to pass. the door saved 11 seconds in February 2017. Racer Michael T hundred accidentally discovered a map glitch by restarting the game by holding down the start buttons B and Open the map screen. just before the soft reset occurs, preventing the map from opening by pressing Y and skipping the map that appears after collecting a key, while this saved several seconds in longer categories, the time saving was more minuscule in any percentage, as it only collects four keys in the entire run, but hey, free time, saving is still free time, there was a brief couple of weeks in May and June 2017 where the record was swapped between scosy HD and snap 32, but otherwise it seemed like whatever percentage was approaching his limit, it wouldn't be. until May 10, 2019, when the record would eventually be lowered again to 8 27 per mini mini with the help of a new Stratocaster in Chauncey's fight after freeing him before he drops to 50 HP, you would wait for his knock attack easily avoidable.
To finish before the next round of Rocky Horsies arrives, many implemented a new Stratocaster where he deliberately gets hit at the start of the second loop and stands underneath Chauncey at certain points during his slam attack to move him forward slightly, allowing the attack. To finish faster, saving a little time at this point, any percentage was being optimized incredibly from July 2019 to March 2020. HD shortcomings would supposedly have the world record of 8 26. Meanwhile, Pablo, a new runner from the Netherlands, started speedrunning in the summer of 2019. and passed the game at an alarming rate, quickly breaking the records of the friend version and shooting to the top 10 and without limits in December by March 2020.
Pablo also scored an 827 at any percentage, apparently one second shy of HD's record in A funny turn of events a month later, Shift retimed the first four runs at any percentage and discovered that HD's 826 was actually an 827 already which had split quite a bit earlier and that Pablo's 827 was a fraction of a second faster, so Pablo was the real world record holder and 826 had yet to be achieved overseas, but then in September 2020, Pablo had a pretty explosive month, not only did he claim the uncapped record for the first time with a 55-57, but he had apparently achieved it. a near flawless execution of 823, this was the execution and it was certainly on the verge of complete optimization, even Pablo seemed to think this was the end of the road for him and for all intents and purposes he had no reason to believe otherwise. he literally tied his son as the best in his divisions, you can't get much more perfect than that, but if you follow speedrunning for any period of time you usually know how dated these statements are, so I doubt anyone could have predicted the madness that was. about to unfold on December 11, 2020, speedrunner Reds MSR was challenged by a speedrunner from Luigi's Mansion 2, the vicious King Boo of 2-3 cycles with his feet, yes, really red accepted since he was willing to a stupid and silly challenge out of sheer boredom during this silly challenge.
The mood would suddenly change when during one of his attempts something strange happened, um, maybe, oh, decide if he wants to take the risk because I only said three cycles. I didn't say it would be three cycles faster if he keeps outperforming. 200. Red had accidentally shot Bowser's head again with one of the remaining bombs right after hitting his head to free King Boo. Red soon noticed something was wrong, as it took longer for Bowser's head to appear above Luigi than it usually does. This oddity immediately raised eyebrows and Red began to investigate, this could be big.
He was also on a Discord call with his fellow zarya 100 racers and the madman ate the ace, the latter of whom suggested that Red shoot Bowser's head just like he normally throws bombs. You have to wait until Bowser crouches to hit his head, but now, with the right angle, you can shoot the bomb instantly after it connects to the vacuum via suction. This first shot has been known for quite some time, but was previously not as useful as King Boo's. The vulnerability period would expire before it could be finished off by putting these two headshots together in the same cycle.
Red realized that a one-cycle fight against King Boo might be possible. Sensu hit Bowser so early by hitting his head for the second time with one. Of the remaining bombs could give you enough time to capture King Boo in one go, the question was: could it be done with the puzzle pieces coming together? On December 12, 2020, a group of Luigi's Mansion Runners joined a Discord call and shared their screens. to see who could cycle the first hour after the call zarya did this I'm a generous price Mini Mini this is surviving in the morning I think that's it oh my god it's done oh my god guys Syria Syria oh my god Oh my goodness, the only cycle was real, the call was full of absolute euphoria, but it turned out that it was very difficult, since the Stratocaster was so new and King Boo was getting in the way, a lot of people didn't feel very comfortable doing it in batches.
However, the next day, HD would be Pablo's record by two seconds using the new rapid-fire Stratocaster, but he opted to stick with the two cycles for now, it would take a while until one cycle became a world record requirement. in January 2021. one cycle lab hours in an effort to develop a consistent method After quickly shooting Bowser, you can manipulate King Boo's flight path with the vacuum for a moment until he reaches approximately 400 HP, after that you can take advantage of the analogue of the GameCube controller. we shoot and barely hold our hand to continue sucking with the vacuum without automatically blocking King Boo and moving him out of the way, as otherwise he would block the bomb from hitting Bowser, this allows the remaining bomb to shoot towards Bowser. head and for Luigi to drain King Boo immediately after the shot, a couple of R bombs are performed to keep Kingbu flying low from there, he can be drained normally until he needs the r bomb when he has less than 100 HP until he is win the fight.
Promising but still very difficult, it required a lot of practice, but on February 25, HD set the first world record with a percentage with a King Boo 809 cycle, which was 11 seconds faster than the record he obtained a few weeks earlier, facing to spring. On March 5, another top runner, Joven, was on Pace to beat his PB by three seconds entering the fight against King Boo, assuming he cycled Insta Shot 2 because at this point a cycle was the exception, not the rule, but simply because he felt like it. Young. He cycled without much expectation and as a result what I missed in HD by half a second happened.
He took a solid second place, just half a second slower than HD. Out of nowhere, heading into April, Paula would regain the record before going down. to an 804. Pablo would only return to improve his record thanks to a new little time saver in King Boo known as the tas-1 cycle. This was thanks to a faster instant shot being found for the initial headshot that hit Bowser so early that only Bowser throws two of the three bombs while he never throws the third, this soft crashes the game if you miss a cycle, by the way, since you'll never cast new ones while the third one is still in your hand, so that's fun.
Pablo would improve his record by a couple hundred milliseconds in October, it was pretty hard to ignore how close any percentage was to falling below 8 minutes, but at the end of the year he remained out of reach by a cycle. King Boo alone was not enough. having reached its limit once again as the New Year approached, however, the tides began to turn on December 14, 2021. Taylor, also known as Never Doors, famous for his Ocarina of Time, all dungeons, tasks without doors, uploaded a new Luigi's Mansion task with any percentage on YouTube, which was officially published on taskvideos.org on January 27, 2022.
It was time for the task to be a 927 from power, which when converted to Standard time used in regular drag races was a 743, while some improvements, such as skipping the third SKU, were impractical for Humans, some were more promising, a modder of the Laser Crusader game discovered a crucial time saving. Normally, when the fight with Chauncey is activated, you suck the wheelie to wake up Chauncey before he says he wants to play or something. Luigi gets scared and the player finally recovers. he controls to shoot a ball at Chauncey to start the fight; However, by vacuuming the rocking track while hugging the left wall between it and the crib, you can continue sucking with the vacuum and bring the ball closer to hit Chauncey faster, skipping his first text box and the scared animation of Luigi saves around 2 seconds thanks to the laser Crusader HD reclaimed the record with an 802 on March 16 sub 8 was certainly on the horizon, but HD decided to take a break from the category so he could prove he's not out of bounds in Hondo . times first with HD taking a break from any percentage Joven and Pablo were the main contenders for sub 8.
Pablo came close in April and despite a poor Area 1 and a worn out gate jump, he managed to save some time by skipping the shot before the last bias. On a very risky and inconsistent Stratocaster, he entered the King Buu fight with Pace to get eight minutes, but maybe he could get the best Kingbu fight of his life and grab the sub 8. The fight started and then this happened, he he choked with better luck. Next time, after this failed attempt, Pablo decided to abandon Nautilus' second bias and opted to address one of his few weaknesses, even though Pablo is arguably the best Luigi's Mansion Runner for 2022, his ability to traverse frames. text quickly wasn't that good.
However, his speedrunning rivals are more likely to help each other, as rising tides lift all boats and therefore make the competition tighter and more interesting. At the end of June, the top three runners would face off in person for the first time in the Summer Games speedrunning marathons. Quick 2022, everyone was having a great time, but in addition to having the best time of his life, Pablo took the timeto improve his shredding skills and Joven was more than willing to help by using the double thumb method that people use to destroy their friends in the Mario Party minigames. as I do, Pablo started grinding much faster than before, after sgdq concluded and Pablo came home from America, he started grinding any percentage again and as fate would have it, on July 6, Pablo got this run abroad, what is that area one?
As I did? Dude, it's crushing, that's the only thing I can say he had done it. Pablo became the first person to beat Luigi's Mansion in less than eight minutes, the last minute barrier in this category. This may be one of the biggest milestones achieved in speedrunning in 2022. I wish this achievement received the praise it deserved as it did and I hope this video can make this story more widely known, although technically this race could be surpassed, It probably won't happen for a while while King Boo can finally cycle. Chauncey remains. in general and if even the task can't achieve it, it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon.
Congratulations to Pablo for making history. Please, he watches a broadcast and the other Luigi's Mansion Runners do too. Thanks so much for looking. and remember, oh my god, I got it, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, friend, while working on this video on November 17th, PhD received a message from one of his friends, Pike, who found a problem strange when he fought Chauncey after Chauncey. Broke Free, his heart and HP remained exposed, which is definitely not normal. The glitch immediately jumped on a call with him and he spent a few hours trying to recreate the glitch to no avail.
He suspected that whatever Pike did might be the key to finally solving the problem. seemingly impossible, Chauncey a cycle after Pike made a comment about Luigi still sucking with the vacuum after the sparks appeared at the end, usually indicating a failure of Chauncey Breaking Free along with red and zarya, it emerges that you could go back to grab Chauncey by releasing R. for a frame, sure enough, he pulled a perfect R bomb out of the frame, but without pressing L and that the control stick must be in the neutral position to allow Chauncey to drag Luigi, the glitches doctor began to test his hypothesis and then, my God, I understood it all. was released, the Chauncey loop was actually real and people couldn't believe their eyes immediately after Glitch posted his successful attempt on Twitter, people flooded the Luigi's Mansion Discord voice chat and started learning and practicing the cycle in which I was sitting.
That call until three in the morning with about a dozen other people watching people learn the trick and even race it. Zarya discovered that Shanty in one cycle or for short saved approximately 33 seconds in all categories, no world record was safe anymore. The next day, however, running back Jared's Giants briefly stole the world record for any percentage with 757, a run that featured basement strategies from the sock folder era, a two-cycle King Boo, but earned the record thanks to Chauncey, a cycle hours later, Joven would beat this time. kingbu one cycles well and scored a 744. This record would stand for a month before Pablo broke it on December 18 with a 738, which is where the record is at the time of making this video even though a Chauncey cycle It was the biggest time saver in almost a decade.
It's a very inconsistent Stratocaster. Runners can make it many times in a row before a sudden drought, although every record in the game is very vulnerable, right? Now and any percentage could easily be less than 730, the inconsistency of the tricks has ushered in a new era of chaos for Luigi's Mansion, many racers are not very happy with the area that is now a prison for speed racers and Chauncey is the guardian who has the key, so that is the current state of Luigi's Mansion any percentage or is it now December 2022 and just a couple of weeks ago the game unexpectedly changed again forever welcome to the era of incoming skus on December 6, many sarya and snap found and developed the first practical use of skew outside the limits of ghosts, this could be used to enter the sealed room early, which was a significant time saver in the 100 speed race.
This set off a sequence of events in which, after a glitch, PhD saw a clip of Pablo tilting a mouse in the area 3. hallway, he thought, what if this could be applied elsewhere? He tested us in a hallway area, leaning into a mouse, walking into this corner, tilting Luigi's flashlight down similar to the basement clip, and performing it by holding and then taking out the game. Horror Boy, he ended up entering the dining room in area two, which opened the floodgates to a whole new route to the secret altar without the need to catch any ghost portraits, shortly after Saria began documenting all the places it could be used. an incoming mouseke. clip in certain places as fate would have it, there was a new theoretical faster route in the city and this is how it would be, the race would take place in the friends version of the game released in Europe in Oceana where, unlike the ntsc versions , the changes in The Hidden Mansion are much more drastic, including the Mansion being reflected in different boss fight mechanics and different enemy ghost bombs in rooms and hallways.
Run would clean the Hall anti-room and the locker room as usual, but as soon as Luigi enters the main hallway of Area 1, he would perform the aforementioned mouse movement towards the dining room, head to the kitchen, and skew the clip towards the hallway. from area 2 using mice that are only present in the kitchen in the Hidden Mansion from there, no doors were ever found where you can use the Exploder ghosts. to completely cut into the hallway Tilt the mouse to pass the area 3 doors out into the courtyard and then use these little ghosts to slash Luigi, who can be held back as he falls down the well thanks to the doors never and many, it was discovered that This bias could be used to skip the Mario painting scene you normally see when you go down the well and instead fit in the secret altar on December 14.
Never Doors uploaded a demo assisted by a low optimization tool or low tat for short on YouTube, which demonstrated that theoretically any percentage of time could fall in the five minute range, as exciting as it may seem, the human viability of this route seems unlikely at this point, as of now, kitchen bias seems to be a friend's exclusive trick, not to mention that mouse signals are incredibly difficult and inconsistent, the fact that there are a few of them will deter the Most runners are switching to this route, so I wouldn't expect anyone to take the plunge anytime soon.
Special thanks to PhD for helping me with the research for this. video, in addition to making some of these important discoveries himself, in addition to giving me the Lost v-man executions, he also made an incredible hour long video that talks about most of the glitches in Luigi's Mansion, that video barely has thousand views, which is just criminal considering how well edited, informative and fun it is, go watch that video if you want to learn more about the glitches of Luigi's Mansion. His video of discovering Chauncey loops around, and of course, feel free to join Luigi's Mansion speedrunning on Discord.
Additional thanks to Pablo and The red links to help with the research are in the description below. Subscribe if you want to see more videos like this.
